Gumped-Up Blowhard who threatened to sue any states that restricted travel by New Yorkers changes his tune now that the travel is going the other way.
Say, remember when a few states tossed around the idea of imposing travel restrictions on anyone coming from the Wuhan Epicenter of New York?
Sure you do!
It was just a few months ago.
Then again, so much has happened in the last ninety days, maybe you don’t remember.
Rhode Island, fearful of fleeing New Yorkers packing up their bags and viral loads and bringing them east announced that any New Yorker entering Rhode Island would be quarantined for two weeks.
And, boy, did Governor Andrew Cuomo howl!
He was going to sue any state that dared to issue travel restrictions against New Yorkers! Why, it was beyond the pale!!
Of course, states had reason to consider travel restrictions against Cuomo’s virulent state. As we learned back in early May, a large percentage of nationwide outbreaks were seeded by travel from New York.
In fact, when President Trump suggested some travel restrictions on folks from New York’s hotspots, Cuomo sputtered with righteous indignation at the thought that his state would in any way be punished for his incompetent handling of the pandemic. He played the tough guy and let everyone know that he’d fight tooth and nail against such tactics. And because he’s a gumped-up drama queen, he even called it a “federal declaration of war.”
Well, that was then.
Now, Cuomo has decreed that anyone traveling to New York from Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Texas or Utah will have to quarantine for fourteen days.
The only consistent thing about this showboating big-mouth is how utterly inconsistent he is.
And yet when you turn on the news, they’re still lauding this slime ball as some kind of heroic light bringer. Nobody will dare challenge his about-face on travel restrictions now that the travel is going the other way. Instead, they’ll swoon all over this clown like he’s the modern-day Churchill.
Honestly, as a resident of Upstate New York, the way the media fellates this guy makes me feel like I’m living in Upside-Down World.
