Twitter to allow staff to work from home forever

Twitter is to allow staff to work from home "forever" as it adapts to the changes in working caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
In a blog post to users and employees, the company said that working from home to protect staff from COVID-19 had been a success.
The company will now permanently allow them to work from home, even after the coronavirus lockdown lifts, although they will have the option to return to the office if they prefer.

"If our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen," the company said.
"If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when we feel it's safe to return."
The company said that it won't open its offices again before September, "with very few exceptions", but if and when employees return that would be their decision.
"When we do decide to open offices, it also won't be a snap back to the way it was before. It will be careful, intentional, office by office and gradual," the company added.
Facebook and Google have already stated their staff can work from home until the end of the year.
