Portland Police Stop Armed Robber, Tell Him To Put Mask On

PORTLAND, OR—A Portland police officer stopped a bank robber mid-crime, catching him just as he emerged from the vault with bags of cash.

The officer stopped the criminal and sternly lectured him on the need to wear a mask before letting him go.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to put a mask on while you carry out this robbery. Thanks for understanding, and have a great day," she said, wagging her finger at him. "We're all in this together."

The robber apologized for his indiscretion and pulled a bandana over his face before fleeing with the cash.

"I wasn't trying to be insensitive or anything," he said as he stashed the money in his safe house. "It's easy to forget the mask when you go out of the house to commit a robbery or break into a house. It won't happen again."
