Golly, I wonder why New York City is the epicenter

Those in charge of the public health and safety of America’s largest city spent weeks virtue-signaling over PC garbage while downplaying the threat.

On Sunday the New York Times reported that the New York City area has become the epicenter of the Wuhan virus outbreak in the US.

Really?  The epicenter?  Ya think?!

More than 15,000 people in New York State have tested positive for COVID-19.  And most of those New York cases are concentrated in the NYC metropolitan area. As of last weekend, the NYC area accounted for 10,764 cases.  Of those, 1,800 are, or were,  hospitalized.

The Times quotes New York’s inept mayor Bill de Blasio who said, “We are now, in New York City, the epicenter of this crisis in the United States of America.  I am not happy to tell you that. You’re not happy to hear it.”

That’s a very different tone from the guy who just twenty days earlier tweeted out this:

No wonder your city is the epicenter, Mayor Dumbass.

But he isn’t the only official who played Russian Roulette with people’s lives.

Shortly after President Trump banned all travel from China, New York City’s Commissioner of Health was busy virtue-signaling instead of preparing.

In fact, just a few days earlier, Commissioner Barbot went on NY1 and assured viewers that casual transmission was unlikely.

I see. You can only catch Wuhan virus if you’re living with someone who has it. Does this mean those 10,764 people all live together?

In hindsight, maybe a Health Commissioner prattling on about xenophobia and discrimination was a tremendous waste of time.

Golly, I wonder why New York City is the epicenter. Could it be that it is run by complete incompetents more concerned with political correctness than public health?

Then there’s this genius:

That’s the chair of the City Council’s Health Committee.

How’d that “powerful show of defiance” work out for the guy?
Here’s a tweet of his from this week.

I wonder if he’s still calling it a “#coronavirus scare.”

So, apparently what you were “missing out” on was contracting COVID-19.

Getting the Wuhan virus to own Trump.  Great work, team!

I guess the news media aren’t the only people the ChiComs are exploitingusing PC garbage.

Is it any wonder this densely populated metropolitan area is now the epicenter of this outbreak?

City officials responsible for the health and safety of New York residents dismissed and downplayed the threat.  Worse still, they actively encouraged New Yorkers to attend large public events further increasing the risk of exposure.

In February, most of the tweets on Commissioner Barbot’s Twitter timeline were urging people to get out to Chinatown and not let “xenophobia” keep them away.

Including these retweets:

Well, let me be clear. There are not zero confirmed cases in NYC anymore.

And now the same city officials who risked people lives on the altar of political correctness are singing a different tune.

Oh, NOW she wants New Yorkers to take this responsibility seriously!  The same woman who was encouraging people to get out to Chinatown and enjoy the crowds in order to show how virtuous they are.

Good grief. It would be funny if it wasn’t so deadly.

And a lot of people are going to die in this epicenter because those charged with public health and safety put political correctness ahead of public health and safety.
