On Sunday, a man was arrested outside the White House after declaring he was there to kill Donald Trump.
As reported by The Associated Press, on 15th and Pennsylvania Avenue, 25-year-old Roger Hedgpeth told a member of the Secret Service he wanted to assassinate the President.
And also: that he had a knife with him.

According to The Washington Post, these were his exact words:
“I am here to assassinate President Donald Trump.”

“I have a knife to do it with.”
As the official report, a 3.5-inch blade sheathed on his left hip was confiscated by the Metropolitan Police Department.
On his right hip, he was wearing an empty pistol holster.
The Brandon, Florida man’s car was impounded, and he was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Of course, the guy may just be off his rocker; but off-their-rocker people are as deadly as those squarely seated.

That’s especially strange, given that — as indicated by many a narrative — conservatives are the menace to safety and security.
A myriad of threats have been made against Trump, and that’s no doubt in part due to unfair and unhinged characterizations of his maniacal, dictatorial rage. When you consistently pitch the idea that the man in the White House is sinisterly dangerous, you shouldn’t be surprised when some rise up to – in their minds — protect us all.
The real danger comes from that irresponsible depiction.
It’s how we get things such as these:
