2020 hopeful Senator Bernie Sanders is saying he feels healthy after
his heart attack and is ready to run a “vigorous” campaign. During a
Sunday interview, the 78-year-old senator admitted he ignored some of
the symptoms that led up to his heart attack nearly two weeks ago.Sanders was hospitalized earlier in the month after experiencing chest pains. He was released several days later and said he felt “great.”
Sanders has since commented on his campaign’s handling of the medical scare and what the standard should be for releasing candidates’ medical records.
“Running for president of the United States, I think the American people have a right to know the condition of your health,” he said. “I think that is a standard that should be applicable to all candidates.”
Sanders said he isn’t ready to have the same packed campaign schedule as before, but he hopes to get there soon. The senator also said he is looking forward to the upcoming Democrat debate on Tuesday.
