President Trump is saying that the National Doral Miami Resort in Florida will no longer be in consideration for hosting next year’s G7 Summit. He said the decision was made due to pressure from the “hostile media & their Democrat partners.”
The President announced his decision Saturday night on Twitter.
President Trump claimed that the resort would be perfect for the conference due to its size, functionality and other luxurious perks. He also pointed out that the use of this property allowed him to host the summit at “zero cost to the USA.”
President Trump has been under criticism ever since acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney made the official announcement earlier this week. Mulvaney said the resort was “far and away” the best facility for the meeting and emphasized that the president would not profit from this event.
The summit is set to take place June 10th through the 12th.
