Conservatives: Let’s Win the War of Words

Eighty years ago, in his essay "Politics And The English Language," the great George Orwell described how manipulated language advances ill-motivated political interests: “Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” The Left long has used language to facilitate its control of society, and the American Left and its media mouthpieces have made language manipulation a political art form. This has cluttered the minds of far too many Americans who then habitually spew nonsense about politics and society.

Conservatives must stop surrendering the war of words to the Left. America is a center-right country and, with clearer thinking and more precise language, our politics can more consistently reflect this reality. Here are a few examples — among many — as to how we might accomplish this:

Conservatives recently have been drawn into a debate as to whether today’s hard left Democrats are merely “socialists” or are full-blown “communists." But why? Most Americans can’t articulate a difference between socialism and communism. And the distinction is fundamentally immaterial in any event. Like fascism and “progressivism,” socialism and communism both are variants of Marxism — the destructive ideology manufactured by a 19th-century reprobate who argued that society inherently pits interest groups against each other in dialectical existential conflict, thereby requiring a self-appointed (and self-righteous) cadre of totalitarian “experts” to control everything. Thus, all of these rancid flavors of Marxism reject individual liberty, open and honest debate, and the fundamental republican principles upon which our great nation has rested since its founding. And this is what matters.

So let’s call all of these leftists what they all are: Marxists. They can debate among themselves whether they espouse socialism or communism; for the majority of Americans who reject their toxic ideology, it doesn’t matter. But the language does; in a 2020 Gallup poll, for example, while 49 percent of Gen Z respondents had a favorable view of “socialism,” only 30 percent had a favorable view of “Marxism.” These, of course, are the young people about whom we should be most concerned. So let’s accurately label as Marxist all hard left ideologies that pollute our politics.

Similarly, we frequently hear that “capitalism” is falling out of favor with Americans. This may be true given the decades-long Marxist domination of our educational system. But conservatives should not defend capitalism per se. Indeed, we might consider rejecting that term altogether as it was invented by the Left to denigrate our economic system! Instead, we should characterize our economy in language that is both more accurate and far more likely to resonate with the American people: free markets and free enterprise. Here again, polling suggests the nomenclature matters: In an August 2025 Gallup poll, whereas “capitalism” was favored by 54 percent of those polled, “free enterprise” was favored by 81 percent of respondents. In other words, a full 27 out of every 100 Americans polled don’t like capitalism but like free enterprise! So let’s respond to Marxist attacks on capitalism by extolling the unprecedented and undeniable human flourishing brought about by free markets and free enterprise — with emphasis on the beautiful word free!

Another word that strikes me as unhelpful for conservative use is “Islamist,” which somewhat clumsily attempts to distinguish between religious and political Islam — the latter an ongoing 15-century war to violently impose Islam everywhere. But characterizing those advocating political Islam as Islamist can trigger accusations of “Islamophobia” — yet another asinine term manufactured by the Left for political purposes. We must hope there is, in fact, a real distinction between religious and political Islam — as advocated, for example, by the terrific Arizona Congressional candidate Dr. Zuhdi Jasser. But on the basis of this aspiration, let’s call these evildoers “Jihadists” rather than Islamists; they are waging Jihad for the political purpose of imposing Islam. Certainly, many Muslims are not Jihadists, and we can make that distinction clearer by avoiding linguistic reference to religion.

In the same vein, conservatives frequently use the words “terrorist” and “terrorism” to describe the September 11, 2001, attacks and so many other despicable events before and since. But terrorism merely is a tactic that can be employed by advocates of many evil ideologies, and characterizing people as terrorists says nothing about the ugly dogma that motivates them. So, again, if people are using terror to wage political Islam, then let’s call them what they are: Jihadists. This way everyone will know precisely whom we’re talking about and not merely what they did.

Our beloved country is at a political crossroads, and those of us who yearn to see our constitutional republic endure for another 250 years must use all tools to that end. This includes aligning our language to our political reality by rejecting words invented or manipulated by the Left to advance its malign interests. Let’s instead use our own language that is clear, concise, and — above all — accurate.

GOP Attempts to Slow Pace of AI and Data Center Overreaction

I'm far from understanding chatbots, chips, and AI technology, but I've worked in D.C. long enough to be suspicious when industry giants come begging for government regulations.

In the September 2026 essay "We Must Pace the Frontier," Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei says that AI "could dramatically raise the quality of human life" but that it "brings risks, and because it is such a powerful technology, these risks are serious." He advocated "pacing the rate of capabilities advancement so that risk prevention has time to keep up."

The Anthropic CEO recommends embedding third-party evaluators at each frontier AI company to verify adherence to safety practices, coordination among companies within democratic countries to establish common safety standards, and for the U.S. and other democracies "to coordinate with authoritarian governments, to the extent possible, while taking seriously the challenges of verifying compliance."

Absent such action, Amodei warned that an AI swarm could become capable of "taking over the internet" within a year.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk jumped on the bandwagon, supporting Amodei's call to "slow the pace" of AI development and install guardrails.

AI is now a huge midterm voter concern as fearmongers took to the internet and ignited the masses to demand political action. Within a matter of weeks, every candidate for public office has been asked to banish data centers.

AI firms need data centers to support their functions, and while yes, these centers need vast amounts of electricity and water, certainly there must be a better solution than to slow down market forces.

Far too many voters, now scared that AI will destroy humanity and that data centers will consume all public utility, have a great pace of not-in-my-backyard overreaction.

To get in front of this anxiety, President Donald Trump announced that he is creating an AI Force and plans to name an artificial intelligence czar as his administration pushes to accelerate the growth of AI in the U.S.

In a lengthy Truth Social post last week, he said his administration would resist efforts to restrict the rapidly developing technology.

Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warn that a Chinese lead in AI would pose a grave danger to the U.S. and the world.

"We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry," the post said. "Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows!"

And they are not alone in supporting market forces and growth.

Former Palantir executive Will Thibeau chimed in that Anthropic and OpenAI support government regulations that smaller startups cannot absorb and would allow the large firms to entrench a "duopoly" at the expense of new innovators.

The key businessman behind chip technology for AI, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, also expressed some concern of government overreach in a recent CBS Sunday Mornings interview about this matter.

Kudos to House Speaker Mike Johnson and Rep. Brett Guthrie. R-KY, chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, for addressing voter fears about data centers by moving quickly to pass the Ratepayer Protection Act before recessing for midterm elections campaigning. This act would require state public utility commissions to consider a strategy to make data centers pay their own way, instead of passing costs onto consumers.

Respect for capitalism is essential to ensure responsible and measured oversight of AI security and data center matters so as to not "slow the pace." First-to-market matters, and America First innovation on this technological frontier really matters.

Perhaps the AI giants looking to politicians for their moral compass need a reminder that President Ronald Reagan warned the scariest words in the English language are, "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

And let's all remember that Reagan also said: "The freer the flow of world trade, the stronger the tides for human progress and peace among nations."

Poll: 1 In 3 Democrats Would Be Happy To See Trump Assassinated

Roughly one third of Democrats would like to see President Donald Trump assassinated at a rally, according to a new poll.

A poll conducted by the Center for Strategic Politics found “Democrats want Trump out by (almost) any means necessary” — including assassination.

Respondents were asked how they would feel if they woke up to several hypothetical headlines. Twenty-three percent of respondents said they would feel “very positive” if they saw a headline that said “President Donald Trump was assassinated while speaking at a rally.” Eight percent said they’d feel “somewhat positive” if they saw the news, while 25 percent said they had neither a positive nor negative reaction. Just 43 percent of respondents said they’d feel some degree of negativity if they saw the same news.

Democrats felt positively toward seeing a headline that read “President Donald Trump died overnight in his sleep,” with 45 percent of respondents saying they would feel “very positive” after reading the news and 10 percent feeling “somewhat positive.”

Democrats were also in favor of seeing Trump removed from office via impeachment, a military coup, or the 25th Amendment. The poll was conducted on Sept. 3 and Sept. 8-10 and surveyed 683 Democrat voters.

Perhaps then it’s unsurprising that Trump has been the target of several attempted assassinations with so much of the opposing party desensitized to (and even a fan of) political violence. What should have been a watershed moment more than two years ago when the president was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, has only served to mark the first of many serious close calls on the president’s life.

After narrowly avoiding death on July 13, 2024, would-be assassin Ryan Routh hid in the bushes of Trump’s Florida golf course weeks later with a rifle. Austin Tucker Martin was killed this past February by agents after he breached the security permitter of Mar-a-Lago while armed with a shotgun and a gasoline can and refused commands to drop his weapons. In April, Cole Tomas Allen was arrested for attempting to assassinate Trump and his entire cabinet during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. A few weeks later, Nasire Best was killed outside the White House after he opened fire near a security checkpoint.

The poll also helps explain Democrats’ seeming indifference to elected officials like Jay Jones. Jones, the Virginia attorney general, won his race last year after it was revealed that he fantasized about the deaths of both his Republican colleague and his colleague’s children. It’s the same climate that emboldened Elliot Forhan to run for office in Ohio. Forhan, a former state representative who ultimately lost his bid to be Ohio’s next attorney general, promised to “kill Donald Trump” if elected.

“I want to tell you what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump,” Forhan said in a video. “I mean I’m going to obtain a conviction rendered by a jury of his peers at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt based on evidence presented at a trial conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment. That is what I mean when I say I am going to kill Donald Trump.”

In fact, leftists have made clear their stance on political violence even before this Center for Strategic Politics poll. Shortly after Charlie Kirk was assassinated last September, a snap poll was released asking whether it’s OK for someone to be happy when a public figure they oppose is dead. As The Hill reported, “Liberals were again more likely to say it’s usually or always acceptable to be happy about a public figure’s death, with 16 percent holding this position, including 24 percent of ‘very liberal’ respondents and 10 percent who said they identify as liberal but not very liberal.”

Sen. Chris Murphy Wants to Regulate the Internet So Americans Don’t ‘Fall For’ Another Trump

Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy has renewed calls for censorship, arguing on Jennifer Welch’s podcast that government needs to set rules that make “people feel more powerful.” Murphy pointed to minimum-wage laws, rebuilding “healthy institutions” in local communities, and “regulating the internet” as central government projects. Never mind that the opposite is true.

Murphy went on to explain that a central purpose of internet regulation would be making Americans less likely to “fall for a bulls**t demagogue like Donald Trump,” a remarkably open admission that his goal is censorship, using government power to shape what voters see, hear, and believe.

"And so government should build a set of rules in which people feel more powerful," Sen. Murphy said. "That's why the minimum wage is so important, and people feel more connected. That's why rebuilding healthy institutions in your town should be a project that government is involved in. That's why regulating the internet so that you're spending less time alone on Instagram should be an important government project."

"And if people are feeling more powerful and less lonely, then they are gonna be less likely to fall for a bulls**t demagogue like Donald Trump," he said. "And so my book is about how do you rebuild a sense of connectedness to your neighbors, a sense of power in your life so that it becomes a prophylactic to demagogues like Donald Trump."

A crucial point to note is that each policy Murphy invokes follows a familiar progressive pattern: the intent is to empower ordinary people, while the result, and the people forced to live with it, be damned.

His remarks about regulating the internet to prevent another Trump-like rise are even more revealing. Murphy has effectively embraced the notion that a U.S. senator’s role includes managing what Americans see, hear, and believe, an astonishing admission from an elected official in a country built on individual liberty and free expression. And it is precisely this instinct that helped fuel Trump’s rise in the first place.

Americans, particularly those on the right, have never taken kindly to government officials deciding what they should think, what information they may encounter, or which political choices are acceptable. Apparently, Murphy’s answer to that lesson is more of the same.

Race-Baiter Ben Crump Just Got Absolutely Nuked by the DA in the Nolan

Now that a grand jury has decided there's no merit for criminal charges in the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells over the Independence Day weekend, Jackson County District Attorney Angel Myers-McIlrath is unloading on Ben Crump, the race-baiting celebrity "civil rights" attorney hired by Wells' family to raise suspicions about the teen's friends.

True to form, Crump got the story into the headlines by insinuating there was a racial element to the teen's death; Wells was black and many in the friend group with him that day were white. A 23-member grand jury decided last week there was zero proof that racism played a role in Wells' death, concluding that it was, in fact, "consistent" with a drowning.

McIlrath now says that Crump and his team privately admitted in August that there was "no evidence of a crime being committed against Nolan Wells," but nonetheless proceeded to spin "false narratives," such as the fallacy that medical examiners "withheld Nolan’s lungs and stomach when his body was released" to the family for a private autopsy.

"All lies, and they knew it," she said of the rhetoric pushed by Crump and the Wells family.

“The Crump team knew better, but allowed the public to believe, among other false narratives, that our medical examiners withheld Nolan’s lungs and stomach when his body was released, that things had been deleted off of Nolan’s phone before it was given back to his family, that I refused to cooperate with the examination of Nolan’s cell phone, that I refused to provide Nolan’s autopsy results to the family,” District Attorney Angel Myers-McIlrath said. “All lies, and they knew it.”

In a video released Monday, the DA said that "outsiders and influencers have attempted to exploit Nolan’s death to divide and create chaos" through their “hateful rhetoric and vile speculation.”

She continued, “The narrative that three white boys and a black boy went to an island, and only three white friends returned spread like wildfire. This was false. There is absolutely no evidence to support the allegations that Nolan’s disappearance and death were racially motivated.”

McIlrath pointed to one important clue that Crump and the Wells family failed to make public: CCTV footage showed Nolan purchasing his own alcohol before the July 4 party, and he used a fake ID because he was underage.

“But that fact they chose not to share with the public,” she said. “What I am suggesting is that the Crump team knew better but did not do better."

A Mississippi DA is torching Ben Crump's team after a grand jury cleared Nolan Wells' friends of any wrongdoing in his death — revealing that Crump's own office privately told prosecutors back in August it had "no evidence of a crime being committed against Nolan Wells."

That admission came after Crump's team conducted its own independent autopsy and reviewed hundreds of tips. Yet the racially charged narrative that "3 white boys and a black boy went to an island and only 3 white friends returned" continued to spread online for months.

The grand jury of 23 members — including White, Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian jurors — found the death consistent with drowning and called the public allegations against the boat occupants "not based in truth." Now an attorney for the accused friends says they plan to pursue accountability against those who "exploited tragedy to divide and injure."

As RedState reported earlier Tuesday, the grand jury – after pouring over physical and digital evidence, cell phone information, photographs, videos, GPS data, maps, investigative reports, and other evidence – concluded no crime had taken place.

A GoFundMe set up for the Wells family on July 6th has raised nearly $900,000 to date.

DHS Wrecks Effort to Turn 'Austin Man' Into the New Kilmar Abrego Garcia

The tiny violins have been queued for Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, the Austin, TX illegal alien who was shot Sunday in the midst of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeted apprehension.

Garces Perez allegedly fled from the ICE agents and claimed the agents did not identify themselves, nor did they engage their lights during the pursuit. My RedState colleague Ward Clark reported on new video from TPUSA journalist Savannah Hernandez, which seems to debunk Garces Perez's claims that one of the agents rammed his car and that the agents did not identify themselves.

There is much more about Garces Perez and his attorney Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch's inflated charges, which are being quickly deflated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The latest X update from Lincoln-Goldfinch claimed that the bullet from the shooting had not been removed from Garces Perez's body, and that it was still lodged near his spine. Lincoln-Goldfinch also alleged that Garces Perez has not received pain medication, and that he had to sleep on the floor at the Pearsall Detention Center where he is being held.

The clown car that is Democrats in Congress, led by chief clown Rep. Greg Casar (TX-35), are doing their utmost to turn Garces Perez into "Austin Man," just like they turned Kilmar Abrego Garcia into "Maryland Man." Casar and over 100 other Democrats in Congress issued a strongly worded letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin demanding Garces Perez be released from detention and receive medical treatment and monitoring.

The letter was also sent to FBI Director Kash Patel and DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari. We're sure they're all shaking in their boots.

The letter began:

We are writing to demand Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) cease any and all efforts to interfere with a comprehensive investigation into the shooting of Wilber Rafael Garces Perez and release Mr. Garces Perez from detention to allow him to receive medical treatment and continued medical monitoring.

NEW: More than 100 members of Congress are demanding ICE release Wilber Rafael Garces Perez — the 28-year-old Venezuelan man shot by an ICE officer in Austin Sunday — so he can receive medical treatment, while also calling on the agency to halt efforts to deport him.

Texas @RepCasar is leading the letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin and Acting ICE Director David Venturella, demanding:

• Garces Perez be released from detention for medical treatment

• ICE halt efforts to deport him or remove him from Texas

• The ICE officer involved remain in Texas

• DHS preserve and share all evidence with authorities that have jurisdiction to conduct an independent investigation

• ICE release all body-camera footage

The lawmakers say Garces Perez remains detained at the South Texas Detention Complex in Pearsall. Citing his attorneys, they say the bullet remains lodged in his body and allege he initially received no pain medication. The letter says he was taken to a hospital Monday and later returned to detention.

The lawmakers also say Garces Perez has since reported losing sensation on the left side of his body.

“Mr. Garces Perez is a key witness to this shooting,” the lawmakers write, arguing he should not be removed while the shooting is investigated.

The group is demanding answers from DHS and ICE by Monday, Sept. 28, including why deadly force was used, what medical treatment Garces Perez is receiving and whether ICE will release all body-camera footage.

The Democrats put a time clock on it, but DHS did not bother to wait that long. They issued a lengthy bulleted list of rebuttals to these Democrats and Garces Perez's immigration lawyer's accusations and defamatory statements.

BREAKING: DHS releases a bullet-point list of what they say are false claims about the shooting of a Venezuelan illegal alien in Austin, TX. They say claims that he was legal and had a valid work permit are false.

Per DHS:

CLAIM: ICE refused to remove the bullet from the illegal alien’s body.

FACT: This is false. ICE does not and would not advise, nor be the authority on, a medical procedure for an illegal alien at a hospital.

Why would the hospital allow Garces Perez to be released into detention if there were serious medical issues? Does the brain trust that is the Democrat Party think DHS wants more lawsuits? Because you know they'll be coming.

CLAIM: The illegal alien had a valid work permit.

FACT: This is false. The illegal alien’s work permit expired in 2025. Furthermore, a work permit does NOT grant legal status.

CLAIM: The illegal alien was ordered removed in absentia.

FACT: Yes. This is why aliens must show up to their removal proceedings. Legal obligations do not end because someone’s address changed.

CLAIM: This illegal alien is here legally.

FACT: This is false. This person is in the U.S. illegally. He entered illegally under the Biden Administration. The illegal alien had no valid work permit, had no protective status, and had a final order of removal from a Department of Justice (DOJ) Immigration Judge.

DHS addressed the scurrilous tweet by immigration lawyer Lincoln-Goldfinch, which alleged DHS was withholding pain medication and making Garces Perez sleep on the floor.

CLAIM: This illegal alien has received no pain medication.

FACT: This is false. This illegal alien is receiving medical care around the clock, including pain medication.

CLAIM: The illegal alien has been forced to sleep on the floor.

FACT: This is false. This alien was released from the hospital and arrived at the detention facility just a few hours later, where he slept on a bed. Aliens in ICE custody receive a higher standard of living than most prisons that hold U.S. citizens.

DHS then addressed the accusations lodged by Austin, TX Mayor Kirk Watson and Rep. Casar in Sunday's press conference that ICE was roaming the streets and targeting people of color.

CLAIM: This illegal alien was indiscriminately targeted by ICE.

FACT: This is false. This illegal alien was the subject of a targeted vehicle stop. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S.

The list ended with this statement by Mullin:

Sanctuary politicians and the mainstream media have wasted no time in spreading lies about an ICE officer-involved shooting of an illegal alien in Austin, Texas. Contrary to their claims, this person is an illegal alien who has no legal status to be here and has been given some of the best medical care he’s ever received in his life. No amount of smears and false narratives will slow down ICE from doing its job by removing dangerous illegal aliens from our communities and making America safe again. Sanctuary politicians may continue to shamelessly protect illegal aliens, but the Trump Administration will remain focused on protecting the American people.

Will there be any photo ops with Casar and Garces Perez sipping margaritas in the future? With the way DHS is swatting down fake narratives like pesky flies, it's doubtful. But the Left remains relentless.

President Trump Holds a Bilateral Meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President Trump and President Zelenskyy meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly for a bilateral meeting.

During the press availability, President Trump noted the war banter from the U.K leadership was “too nasty” and not productive toward any ceasefire deal between Ukraine and Russia. President Trump was asked about a potential U.S. diesel export ban and Trump said he supports it, but Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was reviewing the feasibility of it.

The question not ever raised, except by USTR Jamieson Greer yesterday, is: where do you store it?  We can stop exporting diesel, but we’d also have to stop producing it because there’s nowhere to store it – and limiting production only adds to increased prices.  Russia had that same problem (see previous article).  Trump was asked about Patriot Missiles for Ukraine, which he said were part of the discussion happening after the press availability. Trump says U.S. to continue buying Canadian potash but wants cheaper price

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that his country cannot supply large volumes of potash to the United States because its production for the current year is already fully contracted to other international buyers.

U.S. President Donald Trump walked back his Monday announcement that the U.S. was negotiating a "massive deal" to buy cheaper potash from Belarus, confirming instead that the U.S. will continue to buy Canadian potash.

Prime Minister Mark Carney, left, applauds as Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe speaks at Canada’s national investment summit, in Toronto, on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026.

NEW YORK - U.S. President Donald Trump says his country will continue buying Canadian potash after all.

Trump made the comments to reporters Tuesday during a bilateral meeting at the United Nations General Assembly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

It comes a day after Trump said he was working on a deal to buy cheaper potash from Belarus in a bid to lessen the United States’ dependence on Canada.

“Belarus has a lot of potash, and our farmers need good prices, and we want to get a lower price,” Trump told reporters when asked about the proposed deal.

“We’ll continue to go with Canada, but Belarus would like to sell it for a much lower price.”

Canada is the world’s largest producer of potash, a key component of fertilizers, and the United States is its biggest customer.

Asked about Trump’s comments, Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters at a separate news conference that Canada’s potash is reliable and cost-effective.

He said Canada will continue to supply the United States with potash and that there’s an opportunity for both countries to grow the fertilizer industry together.

“That would be good for Canadian farmers, it would be great for American farmers,” Carney said.

All of Canada’s potash is produced in Saskatchewan.

On Monday, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe condemned Trump’s initial comments, saying Belarusian potash is unethical due to the country’s involvement in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Asked about Trump’s latest comments, Moe told the CBC on Tuesday he’s not surprised by them.

“It was never realistic,” he said in Regina.

“Hopefully it would lead to maybe some more substantial opportunities for a conversation for us to strengthen our North American trade agreements rather than talk about these types of things that aren’t real in any way.”

Industry leaders and economists have questioned how the United States could get cheaper potash from Belarus when Canada is much closer and has reliable supply-chain infrastructure.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has also said his country has limitations, saying it can’t supply the United States with large volumes of potash.

Both Canada and the United States are in a trade war with tit-for-tat tariffs on a wide range of products. Trump has said he doesn’t need Canadian goods, even though Canada supplies its southern neighbour with products the United States can’t produce.

Moe said it’s still worth it for both countries to get a trade deal done.

“We may not like who we’re dealing with, we may not trust who we’re dealing with, we may not think that we could ever be friends with the guy we’re dealing with, (but) none of that matters when you’re in an elected position,” he said. “You have a responsibility to advance Canadians’ opportunity.”
