When Extremists Run the Government

Politicians, government bureaucrats, central bankers, spy agencies, and mainstream news outlets lie to us every day.  For some people, the previous sentence is patently obvious.  For others, that sentence represents “fringe” thinking.  For certain law enforcement agencies in North America and Europe, that sentence reveals potentially dangerous “extremism.”

“Extremism” is such a morally squishy word.  It means nothing.  It suggests that the average beliefs of the average person in the average part of an average town are, on average, correct.  Should a person’s beliefs move too far away from the “average,” then that person will eventually fall into the “extremist” abyss.  Of course, the average person long believed that the sun and planets revolved around the Earth.  The average person long believed that bloodletting cured disease. The average person long believed in magic.  Relativity, microbiology, atomic physics, and quantum mechanics belonged to the “extremists.”

Defining “extremism” depends upon which populations are included when calculating an “average.”  To the average American, Islamic terrorism is religious extremism.  To the average jihadi in the Middle East, terrorism is part of the Islamic faith.  One man’s “extremist” is another man’s “religious cleric.”  Unsurprisingly, as more jihadists migrate to America, the more supportive of Islamic terrorism the Democrat Party becomes.  We now have several Hamas-supporting members of Congress who define Americans opposed to Islamic conquest as “extremists.”  For a decade, Americans were told to be on the lookout for Islamic terrorism: “If you see something, say something.”  Now, if you see something and say something, you will most likely be denounced as an “Islamophobic bigot.”  If the definition of “extremism” can shift 180 degrees since the Islamic terror attacks on September 11, 2001, then “extremism” is a nebulous political label.

In the United States, citizens overwhelmingly support federal legislation that would require photo ID, proof of citizenship, and other safeguards to ensure that elections across the country are free, fair, lawful, constitutional, and secure.  Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans in Congress prefer to maintain the current “on your honor” system that can be gamed to permit large-scale vote fraud and rigged elections.  By any polling measure, Congress’s point of view is far from that of the average American.  Members of Congress, in other words, are the extremists!  If you listen to the extremists in Congress, however, our elections have never been more secure.

In fact, when you look at some of the most important policy issues today, it becomes quite clear that Congress is ground zero for extremism.  Most Americans want Congress to stop spending more money than it receives in taxes; Congress has put us forty trillion dollars in debt.  Most Americans want secure borders and an end to illegal immigration; Congress has enabled an evil human trafficking system to exist for over fifty years that rewards criminals and has flooded the country with somewhere between fifty and a hundred million (nobody knows for sure!) illegal aliens.  Most Americans are concerned about lowering fuel and food prices; Congress has wasted trillions of dollars on “Green New Deal” scams that raise the household costs for fuel and food.  Most Americans believe that college admissions and job hiring should be based on a person’s merit, skill, character, knowledge, and hard work; Congress continues to divide Americans by the color of their skin and their sexual eccentricities.  Most Americans believe that men and women are biologically distinct; Congress pretends that biological sex is an imaginary social construct.  Most Americans believe that a dollar saved today should maintain the same value ten, fifty, or even a hundred years from now; Congress thinks printing and spending dollars, depreciating the U.S. currency, and artificially spiking the dollar-denominated valuation of stocks, homes, and other assets is the best way to fake a constantly “improving” economy.  Most Americans believe that we should refrain from military engagements overseas whenever possible; Congress can’t ever get enough of forever-wars.  Most Americans want their representatives to work for American citizens; Congress believes it should work on behalf of non-Americans all over the world.  Most Americans view their country as a nation; Congress views the United States as both a global empire and a home for every person on the planet.

On the most important issues, Congress is filled to the brim with extremists.  They should be put on official security lists and monitored whenever they travel more than fifty feet from their taxpayer-financed homes.  Instead, in the United States and throughout the West, the extremists run things.

That would explain why Christians are targeted for their beliefs.  That would explain why the governments of Europe and North America have flooded their countries with unassimilable malcontents from the third world.  That would explain why men are allowed into women’s restrooms and why pedophiles are accorded more respect than heterosexual married couples.  That would explain why Western governments have declared war on “climate change” when most people don’t care about elites’ obsession with the weather.  That would explain why so many European and North American politicians are willing to risk a nuclear war with the Russian Federation, while ordinary citizens have never been less willing to fight for the defense of their respective countries.

Perhaps the more that ordinary Westerners realize that it is the people running their governments, universities, and bureaucratic institutions who are most extreme, the less willing they become to do what those extremists say.  Six years ago, the extremists locked down the world because of COVID.  They closed churches, bankrupted businesses, disrupted childhood education, prevented family members from being together, and killed a lot of people with fake “vaccines.”  If public health extremists tried to pull another COVID today, would ordinary Westerners do what the politicians and bureaucrats say?  Or would Western citizens conclude that extremist governments endanger both their lives and liberties?

Two can certainly play the “extremist” game.  Two-hundred-fifty years ago, the British Empire believed the patriots of America’s thirteen colonies to be extremists.  The patriots disagreed.  They considered it extreme for members of Parliament to make decisions on their behalf while residing 3,500 miles away.  The two sets of “extremists” fought it out, and we American “extremists” now celebrate July 4 as Independence Day.

My question is this: How much longer can the governments of Europe and North America continue to ignore the wishes of their national populations before we find ourselves in a situation where there is an explosion of public declarations of independence from the political and bureaucratic extremists who have ruined people’s lives?  For, as much as Western governments appear to be betting on mass surveillance, central bank digital currencies, censorship, propaganda, and technocratic oppression as weapons of control to help maintain power well into the future, there’s nothing so unpredictable as a fed-up populace ready for a little revolution.  When enough people recognize themselves as average representatives of the public will and their government officials as extremists representing only their own interests, things get interesting.  Being labeled an “extremist” by government extremists means nothing.

One might even ask: Isn’t globalism tantamount to extremism when a politician puts other nations’ interests ahead of his own?  Surely, when a government official undermines the nation he serves by championing open borders policies or wasting taxpayer dollars on “climate change” boondoggles at the U.N., that official deserves to be labeled an “extremist.”  Globalists certainly don’t represent the average North American or European citizen.  But they do represent the average cosmopolitan bureaucrat who sees no country as home.

In a world of nations whose populations require different things, globalism is extremist.  In a world of varying cultures and competing beliefs, forced multiculturalism is extremist.  In a world where some people wish to be free, international government is extremist.

Fighting for liberty is not extremist.  It is government tyranny that is extreme.

Does summer have to leave you with too much time to think about everything?

The Far Left Can Crush Republicans in Midterms if They Just Give Professional Republicans Everything They Want

This is a very unusual election year.  This year, more than any other election year, the Democrats have two major weapons they can deploy to crush the Republican party in every election:

First, give the Establishment Republicans everything they want.

Second, be completely silent about it, and control their crazy.

Again, this is a weird election year; I’ll explain.

If the Communists and Progressives, together with all the various subsects under the tent of ‘Democrats’ can have enough self-discipline to follow this guide – they will crush almost every republican candidate and win every key race.  It will be the biggest electoral wipeout since 2010, but they also have to be absolutely silent over the next several months.

If the Communists and Progressives can put their crazy into a box for a few months, they will defeat their opposition.  Democrats need to take a long summer vacation, stay completely silent, avoid anything political and surface again in late October.  That’s it. That’s all they need to do.  They can put every nickel of donations and fundraising in the bank and exit the 2026 midterms with billions in saved funds – But they’ve got to hide their crazy; I mean really hide it.

The professional Republican Party in Washington DC is completely disconnected from the American voter, and more importantly from their base of support.  This creates a very unusual dynamic.  First, let me explain what Republican priorities the Democrats need to support:

♦ Republicans will demand more funding for Ukraine.  So, Democrats should give it to them. Two-thirds of the American voters are against the stupid spending on this nonsense proxy war against Russia.  If Democrats quietly, silently, just let the GOP fund their proxy war, voters will punish them.

Democrat voters will not care about this, and GOP voters will sit home in frustration.

♦ Republicans will demand re-authorization of FISA (702).  Again, two-thirds of the American people do not support warrantless surveillance of American citizens.  Again, the Democrats should just give them this demand and then remind voters this is the Washington DC Republican priority.

Democrat voters will not generally care about this obscure issue, and the GOP base will again stew in frustration.  BONUS: Democrats then get to weaponize the authority when they get power again and target republicans creating more frustration.

See how easy this is?

There are many more policy points just like these.  Why?  Well, basically, this is a year when the professional republican priorities in Washington DC are entirely disconnected from their base voter.

♦ The Republican voters have asked DC Republicans for a few simple things like:

1. Voting integrity (SAVE act);

2. Fast track migrant deportations;

3. Confronting lawlessness (Antifa et al);

4. Arrests for criminal corruption and transparently visible violent activity;

5. Spending priorities that focus on Americans’ first, not migrants or foreign interests.

That’s essentially it.

That’s the proverbial “big ask” that is just too much for the Washington DC Professional Republican party to accept.

Washington DC Republicans are fighting every voter ‘ask’ and telling voters their requests are ridiculous and stupid.

♦ DC Republicans always hate republican voters. There’s a long history of this.  As a consequence, the only thing that will motivate the republican voters in ’26 and ’28, is the insanity of the Communist left. Republican voters have nothing to vote ‘for‘ because all their ‘asks’ are just, well, being ignored.

If you are a Democrat this is easy, Republicans are handing you the election by keeping their base voters frustrated and at home.  However, this also requires the professional Democrats to do something challenging for them; don’t be crazy.

The only thing the communist/leftists need to do in order to win the election, is not be crazy. Actually, just shut up – don’t talk about all that stuff in their head – bank all their donations, do nothing else. Don’t even campaign. Just be completely and entirely quiet.

If the Communists can find enough self-restraint to do that in every election this November, literally just go on vacation until late October, they will crush the Republican party for a decade without spending a dime.

♦ Republican voters are exhausted. They are exhausted from asking for the easiest and simplest things and getting rejected and dismissed by the totality of all Washington DC Republican political leadership.

Obviously, this level of DC disconnect is not accidental.  The Republican preference to be in the minority is well known and very well documented.  We all understand how each wing of the UniParty operates.

The left-wing demands power.  The right-wing demands money.  Democrats use money to get power; Republicans use power to get money.  Donors to the left-wing support the ideology; the ideology of the right-wing is dependent on donors. This is the difference between the two wings of the DC UniParty.

On the bright side, Communists often struggle to rein in their extreme behavior, so there’s a chance the Democrats could stir up enough wild ideas to drive Republican voters to turn out in large numbers against them.

Why Is Thune Running Scared?

There are moments in the life of a republic when what Congress chooses notto do says more than every speech, every press conference, and every carefully rehearsed talking point ever could.

I believe this is one of those moments.

In just a short while, the United States Senate will be heading home while the SAVE Act remains unfinished business.

This makes my gut rot.

I dont say that lightly.

Im not angry because a bill didnt get passed today.

Washington disappoints us every week.

Im angry because Republicans spent years telling voters that election integrity was foundational to the survival of the republic.

Now comes the first truly defining moment. And the Senate is packing its bags.

Help me understand that. Seriously. Because I dont get it.

Maybe Im wrong. But from where I sit, John Thune looks like a man running from the very fight Republicans asked Americans to send them back to Washington to win.

I dont know whats in his heart. I know what his conference is doing.

And what theyre doing is leaving.

If election integrity is truly the cornerstone of self-government, why isnt the Senate acting like it? Dont tell me housing comes first. It doesnt. Not this time.

Dont tell me the calendar is full. They write the calendar.

Dont tell me this is complicated. It isnt.

Either you believe only American citizens should decide American elections—or you dont.

Ive spent decades behind a microphone talking to Americans.

Ive interviewed presidents. Cabinet secretaries. Governors. Senators. Pastors. Activists. Business leaders.

Ive taken thousands upon thousands of calls from ordinary Americans.

Do you know what Ive never heard? Kevin, Im perfectly comfortable if people question whether our elections are legitimate.”

Not once.

Normal Americans understand something Washington apparently has to be reminded of every few months.

Trust comes first. Lose trust, and eventually you lose everything built on top of it.

If the umpire cant call balls and strikes honestly, nobody cares who wins the game.

If the accountant cooks the books, nobody believes the balance sheet.

If citizens stop believing elections are conducted with integrity, dont act surprised when they stop believing Congress, the courts, or the White House.

Thats not extremism. Thats human nature. And maybe thats why this issue follows me home. Maybe thats why it keeps me awake.

Im not losing sleep over tomorrows headline. Im losing sleep because I have children.

Someday, I pray, Ill have grandchildren.

What kind of country are we handing them?

Every week, it seems another openly Marxist candidate wins a primary. Another radical gets elevated. Another politician declares Americas founding principles obsolete.

Fine. Fight those battles.

I do. Every day.

But none of it matters if Americans eventually conclude that elections themselves arent worthy of confidence.

Then weve already lost something much bigger than a campaign.

History is littered with republics that collapsed because people stopped believing the system belonged to them.

They didnt all fall to invading armies. Some simply rotted from within.

And heres the part that drives me absolutely crazy.

The same people who wanted identification to enter airports, federal buildings, schools, concerts, sporting events, and half the restaurants in America suddenly develop a deep philosophical objection when someone suggests proving citizenship before registering to vote.

Apparently, buying cold medicine requires more verification than helping choose the Commander in Chief.

Explain that to me like Im five years old. Because it sounds insane.

President Trump, whatever you think of him, at least has his priorities straight on this one. Hes saying, Deal with the foundation first.”

Exactly.

You dont build a house by hanging curtains before you pour concrete. You dont argue over paint colors while the foundation is cracking. And you dont preserve a constitutional republic by treating election integrity like its just another item on tomorrows agenda.

Which brings me back to Senator Thune.

Leadership isnt measured by the number of bills that quietly pass. Leadership is measured by the fights youre willing to have.

This was the fight. This was the promise. This was the moment.

Whip the votes. Keep the Senate in session. Make people stay through the weekend if necessary. Do the job.

Because if this issue is as important during campaign season as Republicans said it was, then it ought to be just as important now that theyre governing.

I honestly dont care who gets the political headline.

President Trump. John Thune. Nobody.

This isnt about anybodys trophy case.

Its about whether the American people continue believing the republic belongs to them.

If you believe election integrity deserves action instead of another promise, then dont just yell at your television.

Pick up your phone. Call your senators. Call Senate leadership.

Be respectful. Be firm.

The Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.

Tell them to finish the job.

The men who signed the Declaration of Independence pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

Some died. Some were ruined financially. Some watched their families suffer because liberty was worth the price.

Compared to that, asking senators to stay in Washington a little longer and finish their work is asking almost nothing.

Americas 250th birthday isnt simply another anniversary. Its an audit. It asks whether this generation loves the republic enough to defend it.

I do.

Thats why this makes my gut rot.

Because my greatest fear isnt that one party wins or another party loses.

My greatest fear is that one day my children and grandchildren inherit a country where Americans no longer trust the process that made this nation the freest experiment in self-government the world has ever known.

If that happens, history wont say we lost America overnight.

It will say we watched the warning signs, shrugged our shoulders… and went home.

'Come Get Some' — Border Czar Has a Message for Haters Making Death Threats Against Him

RedState

Border Czar Tom Homan spoke Friday at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference in Washington, D.C., and laid out the Trump administration’s historic success in righting the wrongs of former President Joe Biden’s disastrous immigration policies. Joe’s strategy was basically, let everyone in and don’t ask questions.

Homan said the best is yet to come:

We had a historic year with deportations, but now we got 10,000 more agents on board, or should be on board, by the end of next month.

Wait till next year.

Watch:

He also addressed the liberal narrative that cracking down on enforcement and conducting deportations is cruel and that Donald Trump doesn’t care about people. It would be cruel to have continued with progressive policies that destroy lives, he said:

Homan pointed to the human costs of unfettered illegal immigration that Leftists pretend don’t happen:

I don't want to hear another damn word about President Trump being inhumane.

He's saving lives every day. There's been studies done that 31 percent of women — and these studies are done by independent groups — up to 31 percent of women that make that journey coming to the United States get sexually assaulted. Thirty-one percent admitted they got sexually assault in making that journey. If 31 admitted it, how many is that, how many is that number, really?

So when President Trump has illegal migration down 97 percent, how many women aren't being raped? How many children aren't dying making that journey? How many known suspected terrorists aren't coming into the country? How many pounds of fentanyl isn't coming across the border to kill Americans?

President Trump is saving thousands of lives every month, but no one wants to talk about it.

Well said, sir.

There were lighter moments as well, however. The Border Czar told the story of how the president recruited him for the job in peak Trumpian fashion. He told the audience that the president said to him, “You’ve been bitching about [illegal immigration] for four years, you want to come fix it?”

“How do you say no to that?” Homan said.

Homan says he refuses to live in fear, even though he receives constant death threats and can’t even go to the grocery store without a full security detail. His message to the cartels and haters who would love to 86 him: “Come get some.”

Watch the entire speech here:

Trump Tells the Hard Truth on Why the Dem Party Refuses to Fight Its Internal Communist Threat

RedState

We've seen the rise of radical leftists within the Democrat Party over the near term, with it becoming more glaringly obvious since Democratic Socialist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani's election, and others in NY and elsewhere rising in the 2026 primaries.

More and more Americans are beginning to awaken to the truth that these aren't just progressive Dems. They're flat out Communists. President Donald Trump spoke about that fact in a short and to-the-point post shared to his Truth Social account Thursday night.

And he made addressing that threat to our nation's existence, and why the Democrats are failing to fight against the commies, central to part of his headlining speech at the conservative Faith & Freedom Coalition conference kickoff on Friday in Washington, D.C.

In advance of Trump's remarks, he shared "one of the Statements" he planned to include in front of the conservative group, earlier on Friday [excerpted/paragraph breaks added. You can read the full post at the link below]:

Pres. Trump said that "perhaps the most important of them all, concerns the recent Election of Communists in our Country."

He spoke about the Dems' "tremendous turn Left," and how the party's leaders are afraid to fight back against these commies. They're cowards, he said:

"It’s easy for them [communists] to get followers because they make promises that they know they can’t keep, and the Dumocrats aren’t fighting back. In many ways, they’re allowing them to go their own way. They’re afraid they will lose their Election, they’re afraid of conflict. They’re not smart enough or tough enough to fight this plague. If they fought them the way they fight Republicans, or me, they’d be victorious, but they don’t have the courage to do so."

The president called it a "plague," and said "the hard core, godless Communists" pushing their way into positions of power "is the most serious threat to our Country since its existence":

"These are not social Dumocrats, these are hard core, godless Communists. This is the most serious threat to our Country since its existence 250 years ago. Isn’t it ironic, we’re celebrating a very important Birthday, and instead of speaking about Christ, Freedom, and Victories of all different kinds, we’re speaking about yet another threat to the Foundations of America."

Also appearing to speak at the Faith & Freedom coalition event on Friday was Border Czar Tom Homan, as my colleague Bob Hoge wrote.

"These ruthless Communists will attack all Religions but, in particular, Christianity – They always do. All Communist Countries attack Religions violently. As you know, we recently struck Nigeria, and largely ended the slaughter of their Great Christian population. They know that if they go further, the attack will be far greater and, in that, they don’t want to get involved.

"I am saving Christians throughout the World, even though we are not in those various Countries, by hitting these Terrorists violently and hard. They will close your Churches, they will kill your people. This is what they’re about. This is the Greatest Threat to our Country since its Founding 250 years ago!"

But, Trump added, the future does not belong to the Communists or their poisonous ideology; it belongs to patriots and freedom, and that starts with exercising our right to vote in the upcoming midterm election. Americans are people of faith, held firmly in the promises of liberty set out by the Founders 250 years ago:

"Communism really is the past—and freedom is the future... Everyone needs to get out and vote in the Midterms. We have to win this election, this election is very vital.

And in our 250th year, we will make our nation stronger, safer, better, more prosperous and more faithful than ever before."

Later in the day, the president met with members of the Religious Liberty Commission, which he established in May 2025, in the Oval Office. The group's chairman, Dan Patrick, explained why defeating the communist threat is crucial to defending the religious liberties of Americans of every faith.

He spoke about religious liberty, "our conscience, that little voice inside us that tells right from wrong," which is the "great inheritance of our founding fathers." Governments that "take away your religious liberty," Patrick said, "are putting a hand in your heart, and taking away everything you believe in."
