America Should Grant Political Asylum to Victims of European Tyranny

America has long been a beacon of freedom to the oppressed, a shining symbol of liberty with – as our leftist friends tell us – an unlimited moral obligation to provide perpetual shelter to anyone who suffers at the hands of their government. Millions of people from around the world have ignored that irritating asylum requirement that you apply at the first country you reach and have come all the way over here to America in a quest to quench their yearning for being free (as well as their yearning to turn our country into the same kind of garbage hellhole they allegedly fled from, but that’s another column). And we need to keep this proud tradition alive by offering political asylum to the growing list of victims of oppression by the socialist technocratic globalist bureaucracies that rule Europe.

And also Canada, which is well on the way to becoming a maple-flavored dictatorship.

We’re told we need to oppose Putin because he punishes his people for speaking, because he disenfranchises his people, and because he sends hundreds of thousands of his people off to die in wars. But so does Europe. In Europe, you can be jailed for saying things. It sounds barbaric, and it is, but they spiff it up. See, it’s not violating the right of free speech when they jail you for speaking. You have the right of free speech. But not hate speech, which they will define as any speech that undermines the prerogatives of the ruling class. For example, you can be upset about the ruling class importing millions of Third World peasants to displace you culturally and economically – and rape your daughters and sisters – but you can’t say anything about it. That’s hate speech.

Oh, and say goodbye to jury trials and also let’s allow magistrates to sentence people to two years in jail with no right to appeal. Democracy is far too important to be allowed to be put at risk by allowing democracy. The largest parties in Britain, France, and Germany are effectively banned. The other parties cut them out of any ability to affect policy, the regime media – the BBC is literally the media of the regime – slanders them as tools of that mean Putin guy for not caring enough about faraway Ukraine and cuts off their access to the public debate, while the government spies on and even arrests the leaders.

Which is what Putin does, but this is different because reasons and you must love Putin and also shut up. Britain is Russia without the borscht and babushkas – except in Russia they no longer persecute the victims harder than the criminals.

That’s not all – now, you proles need to shut up and sign up. Falling back on the oldest trick in the book for failing tyrants, war fever is gripping the Euroweenies. Putin’s coming! Pretty soon, his people will be piling into boats and crossing the Channel to invade England, much like the Third World hordes are currently doing. The difference is…wait, what’s the difference again?

Expanding on my series of tweets that really irritated the leftist Brit warmongers, let’s examine what is perhaps their greatest atrocity because it will get people killed – but only select people. They now mean to enlist those troublesome native Brits, with their wicked nationalism, pale, pasty skin, and tendency to vote in unapproved ways when given a choice (choosing between Labour and the alleged Conservatives is like picking between syphilis and chlamydia – one’s worse but you don’t want either). Native brits are, not surprisingly, unthrilled about the opportunity to ruck up, move out, and get blasted by a drone in some Donbas ditch. The idea that young British men – specifically the white working class ones the ruling class so utterly despises – are going to sign up to go fight Russia for Ukraine is hilarious. But that’s who the ruling classes need – those Third World migrants sure aren’t, and to send them would be to undermine the long-term goal of replacing the cannon fodder.

This applies to other countries too, with Germany looking at conscription and France being, well, France, but let’s focus on the Brits. This is a lesson in how the left skin-suits an institution (in this case, European governments), demands respect, and finds that it receives none. These are the same young men who have been told they, their country, and their culture are garbage for the last 20 years. Racist, sexist, transphobic – you know the score. When they dare complain about their communities being changed without their consent, they get slandered. When foreign invaders rape their sisters and daughters, the ruling class covers it up. If they take action, or even speak about it, they will be jailed. Yeah, I bet they’re just chomping at the bit to go get killed at the behest of their tormentors.

The fun has already begun. They have balked at sacrificing their lives for other people‘s prerogatives – again, other people who hate them and have screwed with them for decades – so now they are getting accused of lacking patriotism. That is, patriotism to the same country that the ruling class taught them was a racist, imperialist nightmare of illegitimacy. Native Brits can’t even wave their own flag in public without being mocked and threatened, yet now the same people crying about them posting the colors demand that they fill a coffin under that same banner.

“Hey, let’s you and him go fight in Ukraine!”

Everyone knows what you’re not going to see. It’s the sons and daughters of the people proposing to send them off to fight joining them in the trenches. You’re not going to see the posh boys who benefit from the wonderful multicultural cornucopia that is 2025 Britain join the Royal Army. Cambridge and Oxford are not going to be sending any of their special snowflakes. Those lives are too important to waste in some Slavic quagmire. No, the fighting is to be done by the people the ruling class holds in contempt. Their lives are meaningless anyway. The British fortunate sons will be in Ibiza dancing alongside the Ukrainian fortunate sons. The Brit unfortunate sons will be in Ukraine alongside the Ukrainian unfortunate sons who couldn’t buy or fly their way out of the draft.

Conscription is coming soon, but we’re still at the persuasion phase – and, as usual, the ruling class’s persuasion play is a combination of cynical lies and hateful accusations designed to shame the youth into combat boots. After being told their country is garbage, young native Englishmen are now being told they owe it their lives. After being told they are worthless, they are being told to give up what little they have left to live out some heroic fantasy of combating the Putin-monster for the transitory amusement of the ruling class. These young men are supposed to go die because Putin’s bad? Sure, he’s bad – unlike the cheering cheerio chickenhawks, I actually served in the Cold War in Europe, facing the Soviet threat, and I have no illusions about the perfidy of Russian rulers, but here’s the question we’re not supposed to ask: What did Putin do to young native Brits?

Call me a Putin lover for asking it – like I care, and like the young Brits care about these awkward slanders. Let me ask some more questions on their behalf, since Brits asking them might get them arrested: Did Putin put them in jail for speaking their minds? Did Bad Vlad flood their country with sex pest aliens who have a taste for sharia and the dole? Did he take away British subjects’ cherished right to a jury trial? Has Putin spent decades having every institution in the UK call them garbage and disenfranchising them? Why again should these guys die for whatever this Ukraine fetish is?

No. It’s a transparent fraud. Complying won’t win the ruling class’s respect; it will compound its existing contempt. In the off chance the ruling class even bothers putting up a memorial to the glorious dead of the Donbas, the men who are to be the meat for the grinder can be assured that some migrant or uni student will come along to p*** on it, as happens with existing memorials to past warriors, and know that no bobby will stop it. But that same copper will arrest their son or daughter for complaining about it.

Resolved: If anyone is to go fight for King and Country in Ukraine, it should be the politicians, the poshes, and their sons, as well as the migrants.

But it won’t be. When conscription comes, and it will come because all the appeals to King n’ Country, all the evocations of Winston Churchill (who the ruling class hates with a burning passion for his true patriotism and unapologetically cisgendered warrior spirit), will be for naught. The young men of Britain are not going to nod, mutter, “Yes, sir, my lord,” and sign up for the slaughter willingly. They will not voluntarily die for people who hate their own country and are ashamed of its history – these are people who hear mention of “the Somme” and think it’s the guy who recommends their cabernet.

We must support the men and women of Europe who want to live like free men and women. Donald Trump’s administration has bravely welcomed white South Africans terrorized by the race communist thugocracy of that benighted realm. We now need to welcome, with open arms, quality Europeans fleeing oppression in Europe – but no pinkos, no freaks, only the salt of the earth normals from that green and formerly pleasant land. We must grant asylum to those threatened with jail for speaking their minds in unapproved ways, to dissident leaders targeted by the regimes’  kangaroo courts for daring to oppose the establishment, and to those who refuse to fight and die so some Savile Row-clad swells can feel brave.

America is a beacon of freedom – let the light of liberty shine! Asylum for the victims of European tyranny now!

Why Americans Must Relearn Situational Awareness

One of the most dangerous illusions Americans are living under today is the belief that safety is ambient, existing automatically, everywhere, and at all times, by virtue of laws, norms, or declarations. For decades, we have been trained to assume that public spaces are fundamentally benign and that vigilance itself is somehow antisocial or unnecessary.

That assumption is no longer valid.

A steady stream of viral videos now documents what many quietly sense: sudden assaults in stores, flash-mob robberies, random attacks on public transport, group intimidation in ordinary places. These are not war zones or failed states. They are malls, trains, sidewalks, and parking lots. The common thread is not criminal genius, but civilian unpreparedness.

America has drifted into what security professionals call Condition White: relaxed, distracted, and unaware. In an era when threats are opportunistic and often collective, that posture is no longer merely naïve. Instead, it is dangerous.

Situational Awareness Is Not Paranoia

The argument here is not for panic or permanent fear. There is a critical distinction between situational awareness and hypervigilance, and confusing the two has left many Americans untrained and exposed.

Situational awareness is a calm, teachable skill. It is the ability to notice what is normal in an environment and recognize when something deviates from that baseline. It is relaxed alertness: heads up, eyes open, mind engaged. It is the same mental posture we use when driving: aware of surroundings, ready to respond, but not consumed by fear.

Hyper-vigilance, by contrast, is a trauma state. It assumes danger everywhere, exhausts the nervous system, and is unsustainable for ordinary life. No one is advocating that.

What America needs is a cultural reset toward Condition Yellow: alert, observant, and prepared to act early before a situation escalates.

The Cost of Declared Safety

Part of the problem is cultural. For years, institutions have promised safety through rhetoric: “safe spaces,” “community standards,” “zero tolerance,” “equity-based prevention.” These declarations were comforting, but they were not operational. They substituted language for reality.

Safety cannot be declared into existence. It is produced through design, enforcement, norms, and individual awareness. When institutions fail to deliver it, the burden shifts back to the individual, whether acknowledged or not.

Pretending otherwise leaves people exposed.

The woman who sits down amid a suspicious group on public transport, the shopper absorbed in a phone while a group loiters nearby, the pedestrian wearing noise-canceling headphones at night. Note, though, that these are not moral failures. They are, instead, the result of miseducation. People were taught that awareness itself was unnecessary, even rude.

Reality has corrected that lesson.

Awareness as Agency

Situational awareness is not about confrontation. In fact, it prevents most confrontations.

Simple practices dramatically reduce risk:

  • Noticing exits when entering a space
  • Observing who is present and how they are behaving
  • Avoiding deep distraction in unfamiliar or crowded environments
  • Positioning oneself near walls or exits rather than isolated areas
  • Trusting instincts and moving early when something feels “off”

These are small, humane acts of self-respect. They are not aggressive. They are not political. They are practical.

One particularly underappreciated tool is the humble whistle. Small, inexpensive, and non-lethal, a loud whistle can attract immediate attention, disrupt attackers, and signal distress without escalating force. It is a simple equalizer—especially for women, the elderly, and those who do not wish to carry weapons. Three sharp blasts are a universally recognized distress signal. This is not paranoia; it is preparation.

Hypervigilance Is a Symptom—Awareness Is a Skill

Critics will argue that encouraging vigilance creates fear. In fact, the opposite is true. Fear flourishes in uncertainty. Awareness reduces it.

People who know how to read environments, spot anomalies, and act early are calmer, not more anxious. They do not freeze when something unexpected happens. They do not rely on last-second reactions. They quietly adjust.

Hypervigilance emerges when people feel powerless. Situational awareness restores agency.

A Civic Adjustment, Not a Cultural Breakdown

This is not an argument that America is collapsing into chaos, nor a call to retreat from public life. It is a recognition that conditions have changed, and default assumptions must change with them.

Every generation has had to relearn realism when circumstances demanded it. Ours is no different. The era of passive trust has ended. This is not because Americans have failed morally. Instead, it’s because the environment no longer rewards obliviousness.

Relearning situational awareness is not a loss of civility. It is an update to reality.

The Quiet Conclusion

We do not need to live in fear.

But we can no longer afford to live unaware.

Situational awareness is not about expecting the worst. It is about being ready for the unexpected, calmly, quietly, and early.

In a world where threats are real but uneven, vigilance is not hysteria.

It is simply the return of adult responsibility.

And that return, however uncomfortable, is ultimately an act of care, both for oneself and for others.

Last Week’s Underreported News

Much of the mainstream news this week has been, in my opinion, partisan or devoted to less-than-significant matters. Does it really matter if the Trump-appointed board that saved the Kennedy Center from going to wrack and ruin has added his name to the building? Were you really surprised that Bill Clinton, not Trump, was pictured in the released Epstein files cavorting with women whose faces were blacked out because they were either minors or victims? Were you so daft that you thought Biden, who had these files, was protecting his arch-enemy Trump from exposure?

On the internet, the focus was on the shootings at Brown University and Brookline and the manifest incompetence of the Providence police force and the grossly bloated and overcompensated Brown administration. A Reddit poster broke the case, having observed suspicious behavior by the perpetrator. The poster was a homeless Brown grad living in the basement of the engineering building who stands to receive a $50,000 reward for breaking the case. The question remains, if the police had been competent and given consideration to the first report, would the shooter, who finally committed suicide, have been free to murder a second time? The other hot topic was how Ben Shapiro, speaking at a major TPUSA event, eviscerated the grifting Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. It remains to be seen how J.D. Vance extricates himself from Tucker’s embrace, essential, in my view, if he runs for the presidency.

I think the important and underreported stories of the week, are different -- the growing fractures in the European Union and the Administration’s lowering the boom on richly rewarded migration sponsors.

Immigration Sponsor Boondoggle

It’s no secret that Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have been cleaning up on bringing migrants into the country and placing them on a variety of welfare plans to the detriment of taxpayers and the communities which are forced to host them. Respecting the :

The Free Press examined three of the most prominent NGOs that have benefited: Global Refuge, Southwest Key Programs, and Endeavors, Inc. These organizations have seen their combined revenue grow from $597 million in 2019 to an astonishing $2 billion by 2022, the last year for which federal disclosure documents are available. And the CEOs of all three nonprofits reap more than $500,000 each in annual compensation, with one of them -- the chief executive of Southwest Key -- making more than $1 million.

The picture is the same for adult migrants. Via the departments of Homeland Security and HHS, these NGOs have under the prior administrations.

Compensation packages for executives of these organizations tend to be lavish. The latest account I can find, i.e., for Catholic Charities, reports that the CEO receives almost $1 million per annum. Doubtless there are other financial perks.

That’s about to come to an end. The Department of Justice reversed a Clinton era interpretation of welfare laws and is seeking recompense from these sponsors for welfare and other tax-funded benefits. Deputy Secretary of HHS Jim O’Neill, relying on this reinterpretation of the regulations, demanded repayment from these sponsors

Am I,” Cain once innocently asked, “my brother’s keeper?” Until very recently, the answer was ‘no’ for the highly compensated commercial sponsors of foreign aliens resettled here under Biden’s various dumb plans. That may have changed yesterday. An article from the New American (selected because corporate media is ignoring the story) was headlined, “HHS to Immigrant Sponsors: Pay What You Owe for Immigrants Who Use Medicaid or Face Collection.

Under various laws and programs, foreign citizens can ‘permanently reside’ in the U.S. as non-citizens. It’s not U.S. citizenship, but it’s not not citizenship, either. Biden used one of these programs, for example, to submerge midwestern towns with Haitians who can’t drive. (Ditto for Somalis and many other failed-state refugees.) The rules are complex and arcane, which is why Biden also paid lawyers to help the migrants.

One of the rules requires each permanent resident to have a sponsor, an individual who demonstrates sufficient assets and income to support the person if they ever become a financial burden on the state.

There’s even a sponsor form, the I-864, which includes a contract. The contract puts the sponsor on the hook for any welfare given to the immigrant by any local, state, or Federal agency. [snip]

Right about now, you’re probably thinking this sounds great, and wondering why you never heard of it before. The reason is simple. The Democrats passed this law to ‘prove’ immigrants wouldn’t be a burden, and then promptly broomed it via their favorite tactic: selective non-enforcement. Two tiers of justice are better than one!

So far as I can tell from court records, the government has never before sued a sponsor. After all, the contract only says the agency “may ask for reimbursement.” May. Not “must.”

One imagines the interview. The sponsor, ready to sign, stumbles over the liability paragraph. He holds the pen, blinking, unsure, and looks up querulously at the free immigrant attorney. “Does this mean…” they begin to ask. They needn’t finish the sentence. The lawyer waves her cigarette airily and says, “don’t worry about that section. They never do anything about that.”

Well, yesterday, HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O’Neill -- the same “men are men” official from yesterday’s C&C post-- announced what may be the first demand letters sent since the law originally passed in 1996 under Bill Clinton. According to his tweets, Mr. O’Neill has begun dunning some sponsors for the cost of Medicaid used by their sponsored immigrants[/quote]

The new definition of “Federal means-tested public benefit” in the sponsor form makes each sponsor liable for “Any federal benefit for which the eligibility of an individual, household or family eligibility unit for benefits, or the amount of such benefits, or both are determined on the basis of the income, resources, or financial need of the individual, household, or unit regardless of the funding sources for that public benefit.”

It will be something to see the NGO sponsors being forced to cough up what they owe taxpayers for bringing in as sponsors millions of people who cannot and did not support themselves.

Fissures in the European Union

The leaders of the EU tried to sequester frozen Russian funds to support Ukraine. That move failed. The U.S. is no longer funding Ukrainian kleptocrats in a war Ukraine cannot possibly win, and now the Europeans can prolong the war only by using their own money. Zelensky should be worried, as Wolfgang Munchau notes.

“There is a lot of sugar-coating going on this morning. The sequestration deal is truly dead. The EU will pay the €90bn for Ukraine out of its own pockets. Now that it is the EU’s own money at stake, diplomacy is already starting to shift. Macron said last night EU should reconnect with Putin. The war-mongering in the EU was to a large extent a money illusion -- other people paying for it. Now that the EU is having to put its own money where its mouth is, expect to hear a lot more people calling for peace.”

Philip Pilkington argues the EU itself may collapse as a result of its Ukrainian adventure:

“EU is now fully funding Ukraine. Without this funding the hryvnia would collapse and Ukraine would descend into hyperinflation. The EU is stuck providing funding now. Either they fund it forever or at some point they allow the collapse. This might end up collapsing the EU.”

Hungary’s Victor Orban played a key role in the anti-sequestration battle and refused to enter into a loan agreement with Ukraine.

“We have endured a long and challenging night. We managed to avert the immediate risk of war. We did not allow Europe to issue a declaration of war on Russia by using Russian assets. This plan would have dragged Europe into war and imposed a financial burden of 1000 billion HUF on Hungary. We succeeded in protecting Hungarian families from this. At the same time, 24 member states decided to grant a war loan to Ukraine for the next two years. If Ukraine is unable to repay the loan, those European countries will have to cover the repayment. Thankfully, the V3 cooperation is active once again: Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic have decided not to get on that train. By doing so, we spared our children and grandchildren from the burden of this massive €90 billion loan. Hungary’s share of the war loan would have been more than 400 billion HUF. The bad news is that war preparations are clearly continuing in Brussels. Hungary remains the voice of peace in Europe and will not let Hungarian taxpayers’ money be used to finance Ukraine. Only a government of patriots can guarantee peace and ensure that Hungarian funds are not sent to Ukraine. If there were a Brusselian government in Hungary, they'd push Hungary into war and spend every last dime on supporting Ukraine. We cannot and will not allow this to happen!”

At the same time, Europeans are rebelling against the EU commission’s idiotic economy-threatening and media control diktats. Vilnius, Lithuania was the site of large protests against the pro-EU government’s effort to control public media by imposing changes to that nation’s broadcasting law. In France, farmers, firefighters, and taxi drivers are protesting the EU’s agriculture constraints. In Belgium, farmers dumped tons of potatoes outside EU headquarters.

German sentiment for the EU’s open borders policy has dramatically shifted.

GERMANY’S “WELCOME CULTURE” COLLAPSES: MAJORITY NOW WANT IMMIGRATION HALTED & DEPORTATIONS RAMPED UP A new poll just dropped, and it’s a political earthquake: a majority of Germans now support an immigration moratorium and mass deportations. The poll shows that 81% of Germans state that illegal immigration was “far too high” or “rather too high” over the last 10 years, and only 5% view the levels as appropriate. Another 75% say illegal migration has been bad for Germany. Yes, in Germany… the same country that once opened its doors to over a million refugees in 2015, which was promoted by Angela Merkel, her CDU, and the left. However, after years of failed integration, rising crime headlines, housing shortages, and mounting public frustration, the mood has flipped hard. Nowadays, 53% of Germans favor a total moratorium on all new immigration and immigration overall, as well as the return of a large number of migrants to their homelands, otherwise known by many on the right as “remigration” or mass deportation. It’s official… the once-celebrated “welcome culture” has turned into: enough is enough. Berlin’s political class can’t keep ignoring this shift, because the public clearly isn’t. Source: @zerohedge, Remix News, YouGov

Traditional Christmas and New Year’s celebrations have been cancelled or scaled back for fear of violence in Western Europe, violence directly attributable to migrants brought in under the EU’s open borders laws.

There’s some delusionary talk, especially in the UK, about reinstituting conscription to prepare for war. I can’t imagine young Brits would go along with this. You can’t have a two-tier judicial system that treats patriots like criminals and expect them to fight to maintain allegiance to the very government that persecutes them for nationalism. If they did, however, while they were fighting on some far-away front, the rapacious, murderous thugs allowed into the UK by open border policies would be raping and murdering their loved ones remaining at home.

Upcoming News

The cost of the stolen funds in Minnesota is now estimated at $9 billion, and Tim Walz is being held to account for this theft on his watch. (Similar Somalian migrant fraud is being uncovered in Maine.) Of course, there’s more than a slim possibility that officials overlooked this overt, substantial theft, in exchange for votes, often cast just as fraudulently. Speaking of vote fraud, the vote cheating in 2020 is tardily being officially examined. Fulton County, Georgia officials admit that over 315,000 illegal votes were counted in a state where Biden “won” by less than 12,000. I think in coming months congressional investigators and DoJ teams will be documenting how millions of illegal votes got counted in 2020 -- something that should provide impetus for moves to tighten sloppy election rules and oversight. Along with the confected “pandemic” and arguments for mail-in ballots purportedly to protect lives during it, these departures from sound practice by Democrats made the 2020 election an illegal farce, particularly in the swing states.

No Illegal Aliens in Sight: Tom Homan's Stunning 3-Day Border Review

RedState

It's amazing what a difference one president can make.

Ever since his appointment by President Donald Trump, Border Czar Tom Homan has been busy driving down illegal border crossings and repatriating illegal aliens out of the United States, and his work is bearing fruit

Note that this effort has not yet been underway for a year.

Speaking with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo, Mr. Homan described a recent tour he took of the southern border, in the San Diego area, in Arizona and Texas, and the results he reports are remarkable.

He said:

Unprecedented, nothing like this in the history of the county. Look, we got the most secure border in the history of this nation. The most secure ever. And that's based on real data. I just came back... I just did a border review in San Diego, Texas, and Arizona. I toured the border by air, by boat, and by 4-wheel drive. Three days on the southern border, Maria, I didn't see a single illegal alien. And I've been doing this since 1984, even back when I was in back in Border Patrol. Three days without a single illegal alien in my sight. It's the most secure border ever, and by doing that, as you said, it's down 95 percent. How many aliens aren't dying now, making that journey? How many pounds of fentanyl aren't getting in, killing Americans? How many known, suspected terrorists are not crossing that border because the Border Patrol is 100 percent vigilant, on that line, stopping all the entries. It's incredible. Never seen anything like it in my 40-year career.

This is remarkable, and it's good news for the country.
Compare it to what was going on under the Biden administration:

There is no doubt that a lot of work still needs to be done. As many as 2 million illegal aliens have self-deported, but there are still millions in the country illegally. The ones who self-deported aren't necessarily the ones we really needed to worry about; they took their stipend and free plane ticket and went home. If they want to come back through the legal immigration process, we can and (in many cases) welcome them.

But the real troublesome goblins, the ones who came to smuggle drugs, to take over apartment buildings, to assault our citizenry, they aren't leaving voluntarily. They will have to be hunted down and removed, and the nastier the goblins are, the harder they will be to track down and detain.

It doesn't help that "sanctuary" jurisdictions are helping some of these goblins evade arrest. But there has been at least one good example of what can go wrong with that effort, as well, as our own Nick Arama recently informed us.

This effort will continue. It has to continue. Without a border, we have no nation. Without immigration controls, we have no security.

Fortunately, we have at least three more years to get Joe Biden's open-border mess cleaned up.

Netanyahu to Pitch Trump on New Iran Strikes As Mad Mullahs Work to Rebuild Ballistic Missile Program

RedState

One of the best ways to kill a venomous snake is to decapitate it; immediately followed by pithing, destroying the brain and spinal cord using a sharp instrument (pithing rod). The same technique is necessary to destroy the so-called Islamic Republic of Iran — sans the pithing rod, I suppose.

Given the above reality, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to brief President Donald Trump later in December on potential new strikes against Iran, as Israeli officials warn that Tehran is rebuilding and expanding key military capabilities, previously damaged by earlier strikes, including its ballistic missile program, which, according to sources, is Israel's  immediate concern.

Here's more:

Israeli officials also are concerned that Iran is reconstituting nuclear enrichment sites the U.S. bombed in June, the sources said. But, they added, the officials view Iran’s efforts to rebuild facilities where they produce the ballistic missiles and to repair its crippled air defense systems as more immediate concerns.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are expected to meet later this month in Florida at the president’s Mar-a-Lago estate. At that meeting, the sources said, Netanyahu is expected to make the case to Trump that Iran’s expansion of its ballistic missile program poses a threat that could necessitate swift action.

It's past time to kill the Islamist snake.

Whether "death" comes to fruition in any future Israeli attacks remains to be seen, one thing is certain: any damage that would be inflicted on the regime would likely continue weaken it.

In response to whether he's going to meet with Netanyahu soon, here's Trump, on Thursday:

“Yeah, he'll probably come to see me in Florida," Trump, who left for Mar-a-Lago resort on Friday, told reporters. "He would like to see me. We haven't set it up formally, but he'd like to see me."

Not to speculate, but it's *almost* like Putin wants to "see me," is whenever the dictator sees the sentiment turning against him — both in Russia and in the West.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said in a statement:

The International Atomic Energy Agency and Iranian government corroborated the United States government’s assessment that Operation Midnight Hammer totally obliterated Iran’s nuclear capabilities. As President Trump has said, if Iran pursued a nuclear weapon, that site would be attacked and would be wiped out before they even got close.

Yet, as we've seen for decades, if not centuries. Islamism can be patient when necessary. On the other hand, Islamists never seem to miss an opportunity to advance, particularly when they see weakness in their perceived enemies — which, it turns out, is every country not Islamic.

More:

Israel’s plans to brief Trump on — and give him the option to join — possible additional military strikes in Iran come as the president is considering military strikes in Venezuela, which would open a new warfront for the U.S., and as he is touting his administration’s bombing campaign against Iran’s nuclear program and success negotiating a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

In an address to the nation on Wednesday, Trump said told Americans he’s “destroyed the Iran nuclear threat and ended the war in Gaza, bringing for the first time in 3,000 years, peace to the Middle East.”

The Israeli concerns about Iran come as Tehran has expressed interest in resuming diplomatic talks with the U.S. aimed at curtailing its nuclear deal, which could potentially complicate Israel’s approaching Trump about new strikes.

The funding of Iranian proxies in the region also is top of mind for the Israelis, according to the person with direct knowledge of Israel’s plans.

Unfortunately, "bringing peace" in the Middle East continues to be more of a goal — dare I say a pipe dream? — than actually doing so.

Need proof of the above?

According to the source — a person with direct knowledge of Israel’s plans and former U.S. officials briefed on the plans — Iran’s production of ballistic missiles, left unchecked, could increase to as many as 3,000 per month.

That's a sobering thought, but the mad mullahs in Tehran, left unchecked, could (and ultimately would) do far more sobering things than building missiles.

Joint Statement from U.S Negotiators, Arab Partners, Turkey and Gaza Officials on Next Steps in Peace Plan

President Trump Special Emissary Steve Witkoff relays this official statement following meetings with U.S. Negotiators, Arab state partners, Turkey and Gaza officials about the next phase in the Israel-Gaza peace plan.

STEVE WITKOFF – “We, the representatives of the United States of America, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, and the Republic of Türkiye, met yesterday in Miami to review the implementation of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire and to advance preparations for the second phase.

The first phase has yielded progress, including expanded humanitarian assistance, the return of hostage bodies, partial force withdrawals, and a reduction in hostilities.

In our discussions regarding phase two, we emphasized enabling a governing body in Gaza under a unified Gazan authority to protect civilians and maintain public order.

We also discussed regional integration measures, including trade facilitation, infrastructure development, and cooperation on energy, water, and other shared resources, as essential to Gaza’s recovery, regional stability, and long-term prosperity.

In this context, we expressed our support for the near-term establishment and operationalization of the Board of Peace as a transitional administration for the civilian, security, and reconstruction tracks of the reconstruction. We reviewed next steps in the phased implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan for Gaza, underscoring the importance of sequencing, coordination, and effective monitoring in partnership with local Gazan institutions and international partners.

We reaffirm our full commitment to the entirety of the President’s 20-point peace plan and call on all parties to uphold their obligations, exercise restraint, and cooperate with monitoring arrangements. Further consultations will continue in the coming weeks to advance the implementation of phase two. (source)

It always seems odd to write Turkey, Egypt and Qatar working collaboratively when you consider the history of their rather oppositional relationship regarding the Muslim Brotherhood.  However, this collaboration highlights the nature of a very historic assembly for peace that President Trump was able to put together.

Secretary Rubio recently spoke about the current Gaza status:

QUESTION: Thank you. Returning to Gaza, what is the U.S. understanding of what Hamas is willing to concede on disarmament? Reports suggest that Hamas might hand over its heavy weapons but retain its smaller arms. Is the U.S. prepared to accept partial disarmament as sufficient in phase two?

SECRETARY RUBIO: Yeah, I’m not going to get into the details of those types of negotiations. Let me just couch it to you this way: Everyone wants peace. No one wants a return to a war. If Hamas is every in a position in the future that they can threaten or attack Israel, you’re not going to have peace, okay? You’re not going to convince anyone to invest money in Gaza if they believe another war is going to happen in two to three years. So, I would just ask everyone to focus on what are the kind of weaponries and capabilities that Hamas would need in order to threaten or attack Israel as a baseline for what disarmament needs to look like. Because you’re not going to have peace. If two years from now Hamas is launching rockets or killing Israelis or carrying out, God forbid, another 7th of October type terrorist attack and so forth, you’re not going to have peace. So, who is going to invest in a peace, who is going to invest in rebuilding a place, that’s going to get destroyed again in a future war? So that’s why disarmament is so critical.

Now, what that entails, we’re going to leave that to the technical teams to work on. It would have to be something obviously that they’re willing to agree to that our partners can push them and pressure them to agree to. It also has to be something that Israel agrees to. In order for that to work, both sides have to agree on it, and we need the space to do it. But that’s the way to think about it, okay? You cannot have a Hamas that can threaten Israel in the future. If they can, you won’t have peace. So that’s the goal.

QUESTION: Thank you, Mr. Secretary. You said a few moments ago that everyone wants peace for Gaza, and yet by any metric the Israelis are flouting the ceasefire that President Trump negotiated by killing an average of two children a day, not allowing the agreed-upon humanitarian aid into Gaza. How long can this continue? How long can the Israelis be allowed to show such disrespect to President Trump?

SECRETARY RUBIO: Well, look, that’s your characterization of it about the term “disrespect.” What I would say is this. This – we – this was – first of all, it was a miracle that it happened in the first place. We all understand how difficult it was for that to come to the conclusion that it did, where the actual – the bombing and everything else, the scale and scope of what we saw ended, all the hostages were released, and we have relative peace right now for the most part, despite the things you’re pointing to. That was very difficult.

But this is not easy. Peace is a verb. It’s not – it’s an action. It’s not a sentiment. Every single day will bring challenges. Every single day. We also have had instances, for example, over the last couple weeks where Hamas elements emerged from a tunnel, attached an explosive device to the side of a vehicle, and injured and almost killed Israeli soldiers. We still have this threat. We still have and see every single day Hamas openly taking steps to strengthen themselves with – inside of those places in Gaza that they still control. We saw early on the atrocities they were committing in the streets against people as they were trying to show people how strong they were.

So, I don’t think I’m standing here to tell you this is going to be easy. This is an hour-by-hour, day-by-day challenge. It’s one of the reasons why we have stood up this center there in – operating in Israel in partnership as well with another cell that exists in a regional country. It’s why every single day there are leading – there are meetings among both intelligence, diplomatic, and military officials of multiple countries that helped bring about this deal to manage this. And that’s why it is so critical, it is so critical and so key, that we move to complete this first phase, that we move to put in place the Board of Peace, get everybody to agree to be a part of it, move to put in place this Palestinian technocratic organization so that they can begin to provide some governance structure, and move to put in place the stabilization force.

That’s the goal here. But it’s not going to be easy. Every day will bring new challenges to that, and we recognize those challenges are coming from all sides.

QUESTION: Very quick follow-up. Who’s going to be – want to be a part of a stabilization force if Israel is effectively using Gaza as a free fire zone?

SECRETARY RUBIO: Well, these are the things we – that’s – these are the things that we’re working through right now. Again, that’s why it didn’t happen yesterday. That’s why we didn’t – I don’t mean yesterday literally. That means why we’re not there yet. This is the hard work of diplomacy and peacemaking. Peacemaking isn’t just signing a piece of paper. It’s actually complying with it. And compliance oftentimes requires – in many cases, in most cases requires – daily, constant follow-up and nurturing.

So that is why we are in such a hurry – and I say as a priority – to get to this point where we have the stabilization force in place overseen by the Board of Peace and ultimately a Palestinian technocratic entity that can increase in its capability to provide governance. The stronger they are, the weaker Hamas will be in terms of threatening Israel, and I think the more security Israel should feel and less need for some of these things to happen.

But no one is claiming this is going to be easy. We have to work on this every single day. We have people in this building and deployed abroad – this is all they do 24 hours a day, day after day, elements of the State Department, the Department of War, and all other agencies, and including Jared and Steve and even myself who talk or do something about – there isn’t a day in the last since we – this was signed two months ago – that haven’t had to do something with regards to making progress on the phases of the ceasefire.
