Former Zelensky Spox: Ukraine Must Sign Peace Deal To Avoid Even Greater Losses

‘Every subsequent deal for Ukraine will only be worse – because we are losing. We are losing people, territory, and the economy,’ Iuliia Mendel said.

Things are very bad in Ukraine right now. The former spokeswoman for Ukraine’s clearly overmatched comedian leader says things could get a lot worse if Ukraine’s government walks away from peace this time.

“Every subsequent deal for Ukraine will only be worse — because we are losing. We are losing people, territory, and the economy,” Iuliia Mendel, press secretary for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from 2019 to 2021, wrote in an X post this weekend as negotiators went back and forth in marathon peace talks.

‘Meaningful Progress’

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday told multiple news outlets that he was pleased with the “tremendous amount of progress” toward finalizing a U.S.-brokered peace deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war, but more needed to be done to get there.

As the Trump-hating BBC reported, Ukraine and its friends in Europe weren’t happy with previously leaked proposals, “seen as favouring Russia and welcomed by [Russian President] Vladimir Putin as ‘the basis’ for settlement.” Zelensky earlier said his bomb-battered country and his fellow citizens “might face a very difficult choice: either losing dignity, or risk losing a key partner” — President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post reported the leaked draft would force Ukraine to reduce its army and turn over land that Russia has not taken. That proposal also would prohibit NATO troops. U.S. officials said the draft has been updated, with Zelensky sounding more confident that “President Trump’s team is hearing us.”

On Sunday evening, the White House issued a statement describing the talks as “constructive, focused, and respectful, underscoring the shared commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace.”

“The discussions showed meaningful progress toward aligning positions and identifying clear next steps. They reaffirmed that any future agreement must fully uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and deliver a sustainable and just peace,” the White House said. “As a result of the discussions, the parties drafted an updated and refined peace framework.”

‘You’re Playing Cards’

But some nine months after Trump and Vice President JD Vance had their come-to-Jesus meeting with an arrogant Zelensky, Ukraine still holds very few cards. As Trump told Ukraine’s president at the time, “You’re not in a good position. You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards.”

Zelensky responded, “I’m not playing cards. I’m very serious, Mr. President. I’m very serious.”

“You’re playing cards. You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people. You’re gambling with World War III,” Trump told Zelensky pointedly. “And what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people said they should have.”

A lack of gratitude from Ukraine’s leaders clouded negotiations for a time over the weekend.

‘My Country is Bleeding Out’

Mendel said the European countries that have pushed Ukraine to continue the nearly four-year war have helped keep Russia’s economy running over the period. She said the European Union has pumped more than $400 billion into Russia’s coffers in energy and goods since the war began in February 2022. The EU, the journalist and author said, “has no real strategy, no way to stop fueling Russian budget or support Ukraine enough to win, no direct dialogue with Moscow, and no meaningful leverage over either the Kremlin or Washington.”

But the siren song from neocons and other warmongers has been “Russia has gained so little land.” Mendel said those arguments “sound almost childish when you consider the human cost.”

“We have lost more people in three years than some European nations have as the whole population,” the former Ukraine press secretary said.

In June, the leftist Guardian reported Ukraine had suffered as many as 100,000 military personnel killed and some 400,000 casualties. Russia, according to the publication, had recorded more than a million troops killed or injured since the opening of the war.

Another report in August showed nearly 14,000 Ukrainian civilians, including 726 children, have been killed in the war. Many thousands more injured.

“My country is bleeding out,” Mendel wrote. “Many who reflexively oppose every peace proposal believe they are defending Ukraine. With all respect, that is the clearest proof they have no idea what is actually happening on the front lines and inside the country right now.”

‘War is Not a Hollywood Movie’

It appears French, German, and other European officials are doing what they can to screw up the fragile negotiations. The Post reported that a European delegation is working on a counterproposal, which would begin territorial negotiations at the front line — not beyond it — and give Ukraine “robust, legally binding security guarantees, including from the U.S.” That plan is not likely to satisfy the Russian government, responsible for sending hundreds of thousands of young Russian men and women to early graves.

To perhaps the U.S. neocons and their good friends in the military-industrial complex that stand to lose a lot of money if the Russia-Ukraine war ends, Mendel reminded that “War is not a Hollywood movie.”

“I will never abandon the values that God and democracy both place at the very foundation of human existence: human life is the highest good, and people — living, breathing people — are the ones who must be saved,” she wrote.

Karoline Leavitt Warns Comey He May Want to Pause His 'Victory Lap' Because 'Everyone Knows He Lied'

RedState

After the DOJ’s case against James Comey was nuked Monday because the judge ruled that the prosecutor was unlawfully appointed, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had some strong advice for the gloating former FBI director: You might want to pump the brakes on that victory lap, because you’re not out of the woods yet.

In an interview following the ruling, Leavitt said the administration will most certainly be appealing. We all know who this guy is and what he’s about, she charged:

Well, what I will say is that everybody knows that James Comey lied to Congress.

It's as clear as day, and this judge took an unprecedented action to throw these cases out to shield James Comey and Letitia James from accountability, based on a technical ruling. And the administration disagrees with that technical ruling. We believe the attorney in this case, Lindsey Halligan, is not only extremely qualified for this position, but she was, in fact, legally appointed.

And I know the Department of Justice will be appealing this in very short order. So maybe James Comey should pump the brakes on his victory lap.

Watch:

Meanwhile, addressing reporters at the White House, the press secretary said that President Trump continues to have confidence in Halligan despite the setback and called the judge’s decision "unprecedented."

For his part, Comey issued yet another holier-than-thou video declaring that he had been the victim of a prosecution tainted with “malevolence and incompetence.” This is the same guy who pretended not to know what “86 47” meant.

Comey appears to have forgotten or not understood that the case was tossed “without prejudice” — meaning the charges could still be filed again. (Even though the statute of limitations has now expired on Comey’s alleged crimes, the law provides an additional window  within which new charges may be filed in thrown-out cases that were originally filed on time.)

Halligan was appointed by Attorney General Pam Bondi as acting U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia in September after her predecessor, Erik Siebert, who was not in favor at the White House, resigned. Comey was indicted in September on one charge of making a false statement to Congress and another of obstructing a congressional proceeding.

This one isn’t over, and the fat lady hasn’t even started warming up her vocal cords yet.

Judge Says US Attorney Lindsey Halligan Can’t Prosecute Comey Because Trump Appointed Her

An unelected, inferior-court activist judge tossed the grand jury indictment against disgraced former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday, arguing that federal prosecutor Lindsay Halligan was unlawfully appointed.

Judge Cameron Currie, a Clinton appointee, ruled Monday that Halligan was unlawfully appointed and that the indictments against both Comey and James are invalid.

“On September 25, 2025, Lindsey Halligan, a former White House aide with no prior prosecutorial experience, appeared before a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia. Having been appointed Interim U.S. Attorney by the Attorney General just days before, Ms. Halligan secured a two-count indictment charging former FBI Director James B. Comey, Jr. with

making false statements to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding,” Currie wrote.

Currie then stated, “I agree with Mr. Comey that the Attorney General’s attempt to install Ms. Halligan as Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid. And because Ms. Halligan had no lawful authority to present the indictment, I will grant Mr. Comey’s motion and dismiss the indictment without prejudice.”

Halligan was appointed to the role in September after Erik Siebert stepped down, reportedly after refusing to seek indictments against Comey and James. Attorney General Pam Bondi then authorized Halligan as the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Upon assuming her role, Halligan secured a two-count grand jury indictment against Comey for charges of making false statements within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

Comey challenged, amongst other things, Halligan’s appointment as unlawful.

The government argued, however, that unless the Senate explicitly refused to confirm Halligan, then Bondi was within her authority to appoint Halligan as lawful interim attorney.

Comey’s team, however, argued that Section 546 “limits the total tenure of the Attorney General’s interim appointments to 120 days” and therefore “precludes an additional appointment by the Attorney General after the expiration of that 120-day period.”

Comey’s team argued, therefore, that Halligan’s appointment was unlawful because the district court had the “exclusive authority to appoint an interim U.S. Attorney” once Seibert resigned.

“Mr. Comey has the better reading of the statute,” Currie wrote.

Currie then cited Section 546 and said that subsection (d) provides “a single option for how subsequent interim appointments may be made: ‘If an appointment expires under subsection (c)(2), the district court for such district’ — and only the district court — ‘may appoint a United States attorney to serve until the vacancy is filled.'”

Currie ruled that Halligan, therefore, “has been unlawfully serving in that role since September 22, 2025.”

“All actions flowing from Ms. Halligan’s defective appointment, including securing and signing Mr. Comey’s indictment, were unlawful exercises of executive power and are hereby set aside,” Currie ruled. Currie also dismissed James’ indictment with a similar order.

James was indicted in October for allegedly lying to her lending bank and a homeowner’s insurance company in a mortgage fraud scheme.

Now We've Got Dem Sen. Ruben Gallego Trying to Threaten Military Members If They Investigate Mark Kelly

RedState

Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) is irate over news that his colleague, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), is the subject of a Department of War investigation for taking part in a video urging military members to defy orders from their superiors.

So much so that he's seemingly issuing threats to anyone who takes part in that investigation.

A Department of War statement issued Monday stated Kelly had been accused of "serious allegations of misconduct" and that further actions against him are under consideration—including a potential court-martial or other "administrative measures."

Gallego, in an interview with CNN, warned service members that once President Trump leaves office, "there will be consequences” for participating in any military proceedings related to the investigation.

“Donald Trump is going to be gone in a couple of years,” he said. “And if you’re part of the military that is going after sitting senators, sitting members of Congress, and part of the weaponization of government, there will be consequences, without a doubt.”

Gallego went even further, suggesting military members would need to look over their shoulders once the Commander-in-Chief leaves office.

“I think there’s going to be a lot of officers that'll be part of this potential tribunal, if they want to call it that, they're going to be looking over their shoulders," he said. "Because they know that Donald Trump will be gone and they will not have that protection."

Gallego, practically following the playbook from the video verbatim, tossed out that military members must follow the Constitution, of course. After making several threats—"consequences," "looking over their shoulders," "will not have that protection"—anyway. Just follow the law *wink, wink*, that we're interpreting for you in our comments, and all will be well.

"They’re going to have to do the safest thing possible, which is follow the Constitution of the United States, and you’ll be fine," he suggested.

There is little ambiguity here. Gallego is threatening investigators with repercussions if they "go after" Kelly and dole out punishment. It's intentionally tainting the inquiry.

They should be free to investigate whether or not Sen. Kelly is in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) without fear of partisan punishment for simply doing their job.

Ruben, even without threatening military members, was clearly off his rocker regarding the Kelly investigation, based on other comments today.

"F*** you and your investigation," he wrote on X.

Gallego followed that up with a profanity-laced video in which he showed off a temperament unfit for Congress.

"This is f***ing insane. We should all point out how f***ing insane this is," he said, perhaps looking into a mirror. "And, you know, these guys are trying to say that they’re not acting like fascists, they’re not trying to give as much power to this president as a king, then they should stop acting like it."

"Secretary Hegseth, all these guys, f*** you guys," Gallego said. "You’re not gonna be able to scare us."

Hegseth might want to take a closer look at Gallego, a former Marine, in the same manner they're investigating Kelly.

Pentagon Says It’s Investigating Senator Mark Kelly

This could potentially be very good news; however, the battle between where we are today and where we would need to be in order to address unlawful sedition criminally is very far apart.  Let’s hope the Pentagon and DOJ can harden up and start to take down these political bad actors.

In a social media post Monday, the Pentagon said it received complaints over former U.S. Navy Captain Mark Kelly’s efforts to undermine President Trump and destabilize the U.S. government.

The pentagon saying they received, “serious allegations of misconduct” against him, and “a thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures.”

WASHINGTON DC – […] Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared the Pentagon’s post and referred to the lawmakers as the “Seditious Six.” Noting that five of the six lawmakers do not fall under the Pentagon’s jurisdiction, he added that Kelly does.

10 More Groups Trump Is Designating As Terrorist Organizations

Image for article: 10 More Groups Trump Is Designating As Terrorist Organizations

The Muslim Brotherhood was officially designated a terrorist organization by the Trump administration, but they weren't the only ones.

The Babylon Bee has obtained the following list of other dangerous groups President Trump has designated as terrorist organizations:

  1. WNBA: They victimize dozens of fans every year.

  2. Doctor Who fans: Only people hell-bent on destroying human civilization would support that show.

  3. People who call you without texting first: The response to these butchers will be swift and brutal.

  4. Friends who invite you golfing even though you keep telling them you're not good at golf and then randomly on a Sunday night in November they tell you they got a tee time for 10:30 tomorrow morning and now you're frantically going to buy golf balls and googling things like "where do you put the clubs in your golf bag": It's about time something was done about these people.

  5. North Dakota: They've been operating right under our noses this whole time.

  6. Women who are a 6 or lower: Get 'em outta here.

  7. MSNBC: Never has freedom faced a more terrifying threat.

  8. People who lick their thumb to turn a page: Frankly, death penalty.

  9. The host panel of The View: They stage a new attack every single morning.

  10. All of Congress: America's most dangerous enemies.

Members of any of the organizations listed above are now officially enemies of the United States. May God have mercy on their souls. Which groups should Trump designate as terrorists next? Post your thoughts in the comments.
