The Los Angeles Anti-ICE Riots Were a Coordinated Assault on America, Not a Grassroots Protest


Remember the chaos that gripped Los Angeles in June 2025?

For days, agitators threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at federal agents, torched cars, looted businesses, and blockaded a freeway. All of these actions were taken in response to the legitimate arrest of immigration violators by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the federal agency charged with interior enforcement of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Hundreds of protesters were arrested amidst the turmoil, and more than $20 million worth of property damage was inflicted. What the establishment media framed as “spontaneous protests” against immigration enforcement operations was actually a full-blown insurrection against federal authorities, attempting to enforce duly enacted federal laws within the borders of the United States.

But here's the ugly truth: this wasn't an organic act of civil disobedience emerging from within the local community. It was a manufactured grievance that was meticulously orchestrated by anti-borders radicals and shadowy foreign actors to sabotage President Trump’s agenda on immigration enforcement.

In an investigative report published last week by my organization, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), we took a detailed look at that reality.

Our report explains how several domestic actors were bankrolling and coordinating  the unrest in LA, including anti-borders organizations like the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) and the Hispanic Federation. These groups have histories of advocating for reduced immigration enforcement and amnesty policies. Other notable groups involved in the disorder included the Immigrant Youth Coalition and UniΓ³n del Barrio, which are known for mobilizing against ICE operations and promoting “no borders” ideologies through direct interference with federal immigration enforcement actions .

In organizing the riots, many of these groups provided “know your rights” training sessions, organized direct action efforts, conducted seminars on so-called “community self-defense” tactics against ICE operations, provided legal support for protesters who were arrested , and distributed bail funds to ensure the quick release of participants in the protests. These activities not only amplified participation by agitators, but also shielded organizers from immediate consequences.

In addition to domestic agitators, FAIR’s report shows that there is also evidence of foreign involvement in the LA unrest. This included foreign funding designed to exacerbate domestic divisions on immigration—especially from Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-affiliated groups. For example, Neville Singham (a U.S. billionaire in China with CCP ties) funded groups like Party for Socialism and Liberation, which was involved in the unrest. Reports describe a “dark money network” sending millions to far-left entities advancing CCP propaganda and sowing discord on issues like immigration.

Foreign meddling with U.S. immigration enforcement is also evident from the Mexican government—which provided consular support to detained nationals and publicly condemned ICE operations. Sources also indicate that the Mexican cartels benefit from and indirectly support conditions that maintain open migration routes in the United States, and that disrupt immigration enforcement efforts domestically.

The bottom line of our report is that none of the unrest that we saw in LA this summer was grassroots activism. It was violence and disorder, supercharged to derail President Trump’s agenda and undermine national security.

Those who financed and organized the unrest should be investigated by law enforcement authorities and held accountable — including under authorities like the federal Anti-Riot Act, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), as well as federal anti-terrorism provisions.

It is encouraging to see that several probes into the riots have been opened by the FBI, the Department of Justice, and several oversight committees in Congress. Just as important, we as citizens should be skeptical of how news events are presented to us by the legacy media, particularly those that allege — without credible supporting evidence — a massive, organic movement against the law-and-order policies of the Trump administration. The media’s track record on that front is littered with deception, gaslighting and blatant partisanship.

America deserves secure borders and safe streets, not foreign-fueled, anti-American riots. Nearly all relevant polls indicate that U.S. citizens are strongly in favor of robust border control policies and tough immigration enforcement.

It’s Not 'The Fringes'


In the aftermath of the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk, a young man of deep faith, devotion to his wife, dedicated father and patriot of America, the left again has exposed themselves. 

Many Democratic leaders, who have been calling President Donald Trump and his supporters Nazis and fascists for more than a decade, are attempting to wash their hands clean with a bogus "both sides argument."

During a press conference Friday, Utah Governor Spencer Cox revealed that the scum who killed Charlie had become "more political" in recent years. That he talked about Charlie with family members and "didn't like him" or "his beliefs." That led to the etching of "Catch this, fascist" being carved into the bullet casing that the pathetic coward would utilize to end Charlie's life. Not through debate and words, but with the most horrific violence and permanent consequence.

When the news of Charlie's death hit the Internet, decent people became overwhelmed with grief and sorrow. The demonic left started celebrating. Not just bottom-dwelling trolls on the internet, but professors at major academic institutions, social workers, doctors, nurses, teachers and others technically part of our "civil society."

This anti-American venom has spread to our previously most trusted and fundamental institutions, with cheers from a Secret Service agent and inside the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard.

"It is unacceptable for military personnel and Department of War civilians to celebrate or mock the assassination of a fellow American. The Department of War has zero tolerance for it," the Department of War responded, with Secretary Pete Hegseth vowing accountability.

These aren't cherry-picked examples.

"Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump. In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione. The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy," Charlie warned us in April, citing a report from the Network Contagion Research Institute. "Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb."

According to YouGov, "77% of Republicans believe it is always unacceptable to feel joy at the death of someone they oppose, while only 38% of Democrats share this view."

It's not "the fringes" of the left. This is the left. There is one consistently violent side. Their side.

They hated Charlie because he convinced millions of young people that love, not hate, faith in God, not the state, family, not isolation or loneliness, was the way to a good life. He knew the United States of America, the ultimate land of opportunity, was the best place on earth to embrace these ideals. He was reversing the left's revolution to tear down America. 

And while there is much hate, with dancing demons seemingly around every corner, millions of Americans and people around the world not only loved Charlie, they pray for him. They believe in the God given principles that he did. Demons cannot reach into Heaven. You cannot kill off prayers, and our love for him will live on forever.

The left needs some deep soul searching – if their souls remain at all.

Trump’s 18-0 Winning Streak At SCOTUS Underscores The Problem Of Rogue Judges


President Trump can expect to win many more reversals of flawed lower court rulings that liberal judges are rendering against him.



No NFL team in the last 50 years has had a perfect season, but this is Trump’s record in the U.S. Supreme Court: 18-0. His splendid solicitor general, John Sauer, has racked up 18 wins this year by staying lower court decisions against Trump and thereby allowing the president to exercise the full “executive power” granted by Article II of the Constitution.

These victories have been on emergency applications to the Supreme Court, where it is difficult to obtain the justices’ attention and even more challenging to prevail. Also called the “shadow docket,” these wins by Trump have come quickly, without oral argument, often by a 6-3 or greater margin.

Seven of these wins have been on deporting illegal aliens, five on firing unnecessary federal workers, four on terminating wasteful federal spending, one on ending transgender personnel in the military, and one on stopping the epidemic of nationwide injunctions by district court judges.

On Monday, Chief Justice John Roberts granted a stay to Trump, as requested by Sauer, of a D.C. Circuit ruling that had blocked Trump from removing a commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission. Despite being on the court’s traditional summer vacation until it returns later this month, Roberts granted Trump’s request on the second business day after it was filed.

L.A. Ruling

An even bigger victory for Trump came on Monday from the Supreme Court when it stayed a Ninth Circuit ruling that had blocked Trump’s deportation campaign in Los Angeles County, where an estimated 10 percent of its 10 million residents are illegal. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote a concurrence agreeing with Sauer’s argument that ethnicity can be relevant in deciding whether to investigate someone’s immigration status.

Kavanaugh explained that Supreme Court precedent and common sense allow “apparent ethnicity” to be a “relevant factor” to be considered by immigration officials, not alone but in conjunction with other relevant factors, in forming a “reasonable suspicion” sufficient to justify a so-called Terry stop. Further investigation is then required before arresting or deporting a suspect.

This does not mean that Hispanics or any other group can be deported based on their ethnicity, but merely that ethnicity can be one of several factors justifying further investigation. “Importantly, reasonable suspicion means only that immigration officers may briefly stop the individual and inquire about immigration status,” Kavanaugh explained.

Indeed, a recent immigration raid occurred at a Hyundai electric vehicle plant in Georgia, where illegal aliens from South Korea were caught, identified, and detained. Congress should investigate how hundreds of these illegal aliens migrated here.

The Hyundai raid also cast doubt on the premise that foreign car manufacturers are helping Americans by locating a few plants here. In this case, the manufacturing jobs were going to illegal aliens from the country of the foreign competitor.

Other Cases

Trump has been winning in federal appellate courts, too. On Monday, in Maryland v. USDA, a 2-1 Republican majority on a panel in the Fourth Circuit ruled in favor of Trump on his authority “to lay off thousands of probationary employees across multiple federal agencies.” The Democrat on the panel dissented.

Many more lawsuits against Trump are percolating through the federal court system on the road to ultimate review by the Supreme Court. There are signs that justices on the High Court are growing impatient with liberal lower court judges’ defiance of precedents that favor Trump, which has burdened the Supreme Court throughout these summer months to stay the anti-Trump decisions.

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, one of the less conservative justices, expressed his exasperation on Aug. 21. “So this is now the third time in a matter of weeks this Court has had to intercede in a case squarely controlled by one of its precedents.”

“All these interventions should have been unnecessary, but together they underscore a basic tenet of our judicial system: Whatever their own views, judges are duty-bound to respect the hierarchy of the federal court system created by the Constitution and Congress,” Gorsuch wrote while quoting precedent, in this victory for Trump in NIH v. American Public Health Association, allowing him to terminate research grants.

After working all summer to block anti-Trump rulings by federal judges in district and appellate courts, mostly in the First and D.C. Circuits, where liberals have forum-shopped their cases to obtain Democrat-appointed judges, the Supreme Court returns on Monday, Sept. 29. Then it will hold its traditional “long conference” to dispose of hundreds of petitions for certiorari that accumulated while the judges were away.

The following week, the Supreme Court begins its oral arguments for its “2025 term” that will last until the end of June next year. Trump can expect to win many more reversals of flawed lower court rulings that liberal judges are rendering against him.



ICE Agent Injured, Illegal Alien Dead in Targeted Traffic Stop

On Friday, an ICE officer was dragged by a vehicle driven by an illegal alien and seriously injured, but not before he was able to fire at the alien driving the vehicle. The event started with a targeted traffic stop, the intent of which was to take the illegal alien, one Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, into custody for eventual repatriation.

Fox News' Bill Melugin has details:

Chicago, we must note, is a "sanctuary" jurisdiction. It's not clear whether Villagas-Gonzalez was ever in the custody of local law enforcement, when the ICE agents would have been able to pick him up - if they were allowed to do so by the city.

I’m told by a senior ICE source that the officer suffered lacerations and significant leg injuries but is expected to be okay.

ICE statement on who they were targeting:

“ICE officers conducted a vehicle stop to arrest Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez. He refused to follow law enforcements commands and drove his car at law enforcement officers. One of the ICE officers was hit by the car and dragged a significant distance. Fearing for his own life, the officer fired his weapon.    

The target of the enforcement operation was Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, a criminal illegal alien with a history of reckless driving. He entered the country at an unknown date and time.”

As we have covered here at RedState, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, the Border Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security have seen a dramatic uptick in angry rhetoric, interference, assaults, and even outright attacks since the implementation of President Trump's illegal immigration agenda - by which we mean, enforcing the law.

The official Department of Homeland Security press release states in part:

“We are praying for the speedy recovery of our law enforcement officer. He followed his training, used appropriate force, and properly enforced the law to protect the public and law enforcement,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Viral social media videos and activists encouraging illegal aliens to resist law enforcement not only spread misinformation, but also undermine public safety, as well as the safety of our officers and those being apprehended.” 

The DHS release goes on to note that Villegas-Gonzalez had a history of reckless driving. It's not known when or where he entered the country, but it is known that he did so illegally. And, again, this is what we voted for; the easy way or the hard way, these people are going home. Villegas-Gonzalez chose the hard way. 

We might note that the illegal alien's act here would have almost certainly fallen into the category of assault with a deadly weapon - his car - were it not for the fact that ICE has revoked his birth certificate.



There Can Be No Compromise With People Who Want You Dead


There is no consensus to be reached with people who actively wish for our deaths and then gloat when some crazed lunatic tries to fulfill that wish.



This week, America witnessed, in graphic detail, two horrendous crimes. This week, we received a very clear illustration that no one is safe from leftist violence, from a national figure like Charlie Kirk to an innocent woman on a North Carolina train.

After the propaganda press nearly succeeded in ignoring the story altogether, America watched the video of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska being stabbed on a Charlotte, N.C. light rail train. The harrowing footage captures her shock and disbelief as she bleeds out on the floor while her killer casually walks away, allegedly muttering, “I got the white girl.” No one in her immediate vicinity lifted a finger to help her as she died.

Zarutska’s alleged killer, Decarlos Brown Jr., had been arrested 14 times, had been let out onto the street despite his well-documented mental illness, and had been released by a judge who was woefully underqualified to be anywhere near the bench.

Then, on Wednesday, TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated during an event at Utah Valley University. The footage is too graphic to post here, but Kirk was gunned down in cold blood doing what he had done for years — attempting to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the left.

Kirk’s last X post before his assassination demanded justice for Zarutska’s murder: “It was politics that allowed a savage monster with 14 priors to be free on the streets to kill her.” He was exactly right.

The destruction wrought by Black Lives Matter ushered in ongoing lawlessness in most big American cities, and leftist-run city government and district attorney offices did nothing to alleviate that feeling. In fact, they poured gasoline on the fire with insane policies like instituting cashless bail, slashing resources for law enforcement, decriminalizing homelessness, and even letting criminals out of jail, all in the name of “social justice.”

Leftists intentionally sowed the chaos that now plagues America’s cities and created the conditions that led to Zarutska’s murder. If you want evidence, look no further than President Donald Trump’s crackdown on crime in our nation’s capital.

Almost overnight, Washington, D.C. saw an almost unfathomable drop in murders, carjackings, and other thefts. Homeless encampments that had festered for years were easily swept away.

It proves that D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser could have stopped the madness at any time, either by requesting aid from the federal government or empowering her police department to restore law and order. But the lawlessness was a feature, not a bug.

Likewise, years of assassination prep language from the left paved the way for Kirk’s assassination. Indeed, such rhetoric has become part of the everyday vocabulary of leftist politicians and foot soldiers alike.

Kirk even pointed this out only a few months ago. A staggering 55 percent of leftist respondents to a Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) study said murdering President Donald Trump would be at least “somewhat justified.”

“The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response,” Kirk posted on X in April in response to the report. “This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.”

Ghoulish leftists quickly crawled out of the woodwork to gloat about Kirk’s death, while the usual suspects in the leftist media ran interference by questioning the killer’s possible motive (as if it isn’t obvious) or trying to blame the victim. In perhaps the most stark demonstration of the left’s utter callousness, Democrats in the House of Representatives began shouting “no!” when Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., requested that a prayer be said “out loud” for Kirk.

Many leftists who worked tirelessly to lay the groundwork for this violence are now saying that we need to “come together” and “have a conversation.” Except their past rhetoric just contributed to the death of a man whose entire career was built on having the very conversations they now claim to want.

New reports suggest Kirk’s assassin was motivated by Antifa and transgender ideology, similar to the murderer who killed two children at a Catholic school in Minneapolis. The Minneapolis shooter, Robin Westman, decorated his weapons with transgender expressions.

His manifesto was filled with demonic imagery, and he believed he was possessed by a demon. So did the Covenant school shooter, who identified as transgender and called herself “the Devil’s apprentice.” 

We simply cannot coexist with people who allow and even encourage lawlessness and wanton violence. A country simply cannot survive when a portion of the population relishes violence against their political enemies, especially when that portion includes many people who wield significant political power over the media, academia, and other influential institutions. This bloodthirsty ideology must be dealt with quickly and decisively, or we will see more assassinations like Kirk’s and more senseless murders like Zarutska’s.

This isn’t about hating your neighbor because she put a Harris/Walz sign out in her front yard last year. This is about hating the people who emphatically want you and everyone like you terrified to go out in public and, eventually, dead.

When they say, “This is a new Democratic Party. We’re bringing a knife to a knife fight,” believe them. Do not forget that they push rhetoric that gets public officials shot and enact policies that get innocent people butchered in the streets.

Also do not forget that leftists aren’t content with targeting big names like Kirk and Trump. They’re targeting law-abiding, decent Americans every day — whether through raw state power like we saw under the Biden administration or through the anarcho-tyrannical policies of America’s big cities.

Things are falling apart; the very fabric of society is coming undone. People have had a vague sense that this was so for years, maybe decades. Every year, cities became a little less safe; political rhetoric became a little more violent.

But now it’s undeniable. There is no consensus to be reached with people who actively wish for our deaths and then gloat when some crazed lunatic tries to fulfill that wish. Either the left wins, or we win. The center can no longer hold.

As was said in Psalm 94, “The wicked band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.” How long will the wicked be jubilant? Without the grace of divine intervention, that’s for us to decide.



Defiant nuns flee care home for their abandoned convent in the Alps

 

Three Austrian nuns in their 80s have run away from the retirement home where they were placed and gone back to their former convent.

Sister Bernadette, 88, Sister Regina, 86, and Sister Rita, 82, are the last three nuns at the Kloster Goldenstein convent in Elsbethen, just outside Salzburg.

They regained access with the help of former students and a locksmith.

Church authorities are not happy - but the nuns are.

"I am so pleased to be home," Sister Rita said. "I was always homesick at the care home. I am so happy and thankful to be back."

The trio say they were taken out of the convent against their will in December 2023.

"We weren't asked," Sister Bernadette said. "We had the right to stay here until the end of our lives and that was broken. 

 

 

The three nuns have spent much of their lives at Schloss Goldenstein, a castle which has been a convent and a private girls' school since 1877. The school, which started accepting boys in 2017, is still functioning.

Sister Bernadette attended the school herself, arriving as a teenager in 1948. One of her fellow students was the Austrian film actress Romy Schneider.

Sister Regina arrived at the convent in 1958, and Sister Rita four years later.

All three went on to work at the school as teachers for many years. Sister Regina was headmistress 

 

 

But the numbers of nuns dwindled.

In 2022, the building was taken over by the Archdiocese of Salzburg and the Reichersberg Abbey, an Augustinian monastery. Provost Markus Grasl from the abbey became the nuns' superior.

The community was officially dissolved at the beginning of 2024, and the remaining nuns were granted lifelong right of residence, as long as their health and mental capacity allowed. 

 

 

In December 2023, the decision was made to transfer them to a Catholic care home, where they were unhappy.

At the beginning of September, Sister Bernadette, Sister Rita and Sister Regina moved back, helped by a group of former students.

"I have been obedient all my life, but it was too much," Sister Bernadette said.

They packed up a few belongings and came back to the convent. The locks to their former apartments had been changed so a locksmith was called. 

 

 

When they first arrived, there was no electricity or water.

In a statement, Provost Grasl said the nuns' decision to return to the convent was "completely incomprehensible" and "an escalation".

"The rooms in the convent are no longer usable and in no way meet the requirements for proper care," he said.

He said the nuns' "precarious health conditions" meant "that independent living at Goldenstein Convent was no longer possible".

Grasl said the old people's home had provided them with "absolutely essential, professional, and good medical care".

Many of the nuns' wishes about the future of the convent had been taken into account, he added, including the continuation of the school. 

 

 

The three nuns are settling back in to their former home.

Electricity and water connections have now been partially restored, supporters are bringing food and groceries, and they have been seen by doctors.

There is a steady stream of visitors, many of whom are their former students.

One of them, Sophie Tauscher, said the nuns belong at the convent. "Goldenstein without the nuns is just not possible."

"When they need us, they just have to call us and we will be there, for sure. The nuns here changed so many lives in such a good way." 

 

 

Alisha, another student said the nuns always recognised old pupils.

Videos of the nuns have been posted on Instagram, at prayer, at Mass, at lunch and climbing down the steep staircase.

They say their old stairlift was ripped out after they were taken away.

The nuns say they are determined to stay.

"Before I die in that old people's home, I would rather go to a meadow and enter eternity that way," said Sister Bernadette.

Erika Kirk Vows to Carry On Charlie’s Mission: 'You Have No Idea What You Just Unleashed'



For the first time since the assassination of her husband, Erika Kirk took the stage Friday night—and she didn’t hold back. In a powerful, emotional address, the widow of conservative leader Charlie Kirk made one thing unmistakably clear: the movement her husband built is not going anywhere.

“Two days ago, my husband, Charlie, went to see the face of his Savior and his God,” Erika began. “Now and for all eternity, he will stand at his Savior’s side wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”

Fighting through tears, she announced that Charlie’s mission will continue full force. The Turning Point campus tour will go on this fall. His podcast will continue. AMERICAFEST is still on for December.

And more than that, she made a promise—to Charlie, and to the country.

“If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you just unleashed,” she said. “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

Kirk, a fierce defender of free speech, faith, and traditional values, was assassinated while speaking at an event at a university in Utah. His murder sent shockwaves through the conservative movement. But his wife’s words left no doubt—his death will only strengthen the cause he lived for.

“The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they’ve done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love. But the movement will not die. I refuse to let that happen. All of us will refuse," she continued. 

She thanked those who stood by her during the darkest hours, including Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, who personally accompanied the family as Charlie’s body was returned to Arizona.

“You guys honored my husband so well, bringing him home,” she said. “You both are tremendous.”

She also spoke with deep emotion about President Donald Trump, calling him a “dear friend” of her husband. “Mr. President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him, too. Your friendship was amazing.”

But the most moving parts of Erika Kirk’s address weren’t political—they were personal.

“Charlie loved his children. And he loved me with all of his heart. Every day, he asked me, ‘How can I serve you better? Be a better husband? Be a better father?’ That was who he was. He was the perfect husband. He was the perfect father.”

She recalled Charlie’s passion for defending Biblical marriage and the family, calling it “the greatest joy of his life.”

“He always told young people: find your spouse. Build a life. He wanted everyone to experience what he had—and still has," she added. 

Erika closed with the message Charlie had carried into every room, every campus, every microphone: “He wanted to be remembered for his courage and for his faith.”

And that is exactly how America will remember him.
