Abandoned Shopping Carts, Litter, and the Decline of Black America

The black community’s disengagement from ordinary acts of civic responsibility is harming America as a whole, but mostly, it’s harming blacks. To save their communities, blacks need to reengage with what was once normative polite conduct across American society. To appreciate this point, consider the tales told by abandoned shopping carts and litter.

Shopping carts were and changed the face of retailing. No longer were customers limited to what they could carry around the store. Now, they could leisurely stroll through the store without having to worry about how much they could fit in their cloth bag or how tired their arms might grow. Today, we’re largely indifferent about carts because the idea of them is so ingrained in our shopping experience that we can’t imagine a time when they didn’t exist.

As functional as carts are for the shopping experience, however, there’s a different function that they serve that is equally important, but in a completely different context.

Shopping carts serve as a great proxy for observing conscientiousness. What one does with a shopping cart tells a lot about a person. Most stores that have shopping carts have a bin for you to return them, so you don’t have to go all the way back to the actual store. But here’s the thing about shopping carts. You get no compensation for returning them. Nor do you (normally) suffer any consequences for not returning them. The only people impacted by your returning the cart to the bin are others. Returning it is just the right thing to do.

As such, most people return their carts to the bins as one would expect a normal person to do. But others simply leave them in the next spot or put them on the curb next to their car. There are consequences of such behavior, of course, but rarely for the person who left the cart. The cart can take up a space, so someone else must get out of the car and move it to park. It can start rolling in the parking lot and hit a car or a person. Employees must go around and collect those stray carts and return them to the bin or the store.

Another such measure is littering. Littering is another of those little things where the cost of doing the right thing is usually minor, while the consequences for the individual who fails to act are generally nonexistent. Meanwhile, litter has negative consequences for the community, ranging from the cost of pickup to aesthetic issues to clogging drains and polluting waters.

Whether it’s leaving a shopping cart in the middle of a parking lot or throwing trash on the street, both are among the most basic measures of citizenship. Doing what’s right typically takes but a few seconds of the person’s time, and they do so even knowing that it’s rare for anyone to suffer immediate harm if they don’t act.

It’s instructive when one notices that people aren’t taking those few seconds to do the right thing. It’s like the old saying, “If you want to know someone’s character, watch how they treat people who can do nothing for them.” We’ve all seen people who are rude to waiters or store clerks, and usually they’re self-centered jerks. Same thing with shopping carts and litter.

Across the country, every day, you see communities covered in litter and innumerable shopping carts that were not only not returned to the bin but were outright stolen. Here’s the thing: Shopping carts and litter are just the most benign signs of conscientiousness and citizenship. The lack of such betrays itself in far more malignant ways as well, and we’re seeing that across the country, particularly in videos: Spirit Airlines airport counters. Six Flagsparks. Carnival Cruise Line ships. Seemingly every restaurant chain in America. Malls. Schools. Subways. And of course, street takeovers. This bad behavior seems to be everywhere, and one segment of society is perpetuating most of it: Blacks.

It appears to be the case that for a very large segment of black America, the ideas of conscientiousness and good citizenship are simply nonexistent.

This might sound like a peripheral issue, but in reality, it’s anything but. It’s what’s called the Tragedy of the Commons, individuals acting in selfish ways that harm society as a whole.

The perfect example of this is when individuals or packs of looters steal from stores. When it becomes expensive enough, either through having to implement security measures, replace damaged property, or buy new inventory, eventually the stores close. The result is that citizens of the community have fewer shopping options available to them. Then, when storefronts remain vacant, they become magnets for graffiti and vandalism. More vacant properties scare off potential customers, attract the homeless, drug addicts, squatters, and, eventually, more crime. The final outcome is usually that property values and, therefore, tax revenues decline, ending in community decay.

This tragedy, which used to be largely confined to black or urban neighborhoods, is today spreading into the suburbs and the rest of the country. The consequence of this problem, and the fact that most of it is being done by blacks, is shredding civic order and, frankly, increasing the division of races. The meme “Black Fatigue” has taken hold for a reason and seems to be almost ubiquitous. Black sportscaster and commentator Jason Whitlock says of it: “It is the antithesis, it is the yin to the yang of Black Lives Matter. It’s white people boldly expressing their fatigue with black people… This was inevitable.” He’s right.

As this anti-social behavior expands, it hits companies that are perceived to have significant black clientele. Carnival Cruise Lines has come under fire because of recent rule changes that are said to target black customers. Spirit Airways has seen its stock collapse 85% in 5 years, and Six Flags recently implemented chaperone requirements due to problems with “teens,” resulting in a decline in attendance and a $100 million loss. These companies are trying to survive, and their black customers are making it difficult.

But this uncivilized behavior shows signs closer to home as well. It’s results in schools in black neighborhoods where kids can neither read nor write, which in turn results in half of black high school graduates being functionally illiterate, not to mention the third-world level of murder and violence among blacks, regardless of their economic status.

The bottom line is that a civilized society requires that citizens respect a certain level of behavior and decorum, and we’re seeing too many black Americans ignoring that basic responsibility. When people on the edge of the Overton Window of the culture wars (that is, people most normal Americans would find deeply offensive) start saying things that significant numbers of people agree with, that suggests a tipping point might be near.

If black Americans want to enjoy the full spectrum of the gifts of freedom America has to offer, they must, individually and en masse, recognize that violence, anti-social behavior, and trashing communities, both literally and figuratively, will have to stop. In the corollary to the Tragedy of the Commons, by exhibiting better behavior, blacks will not only benefit themselves, but they will also help improve the wider community.

Keeping up with the Destruction of America

I know, I know. President Trump is a genius powerhouse of activity to stop the evil. And, if Christian, it is our duty to encourage ourselves in every way possible by exercise of our basic virtues of faith, hope, and charity. The Jewish story of Job encourages Judeo-Christians to keep on keeping on—God will reward us in the end for our loyalty to his commands and our gratitude for his overwhelmingly witnessed, patient loving kindness.

Yet everyday, we witness the insane denial by a good swath of our country, which fails to recognize the outright, obvious, and rationally undeniable immorality—by any acceptable standard in world history—by the media, the U.S. Congress, the courts, and a lot of just “regular” (ha!) citizens.

Let’s start with “personal” behavior in Congress. Why does the Congress not sanction, on the floor, by fines say, the exclaiming foul language, like the oft-repeated f*** yous coming from the Democrats, and even some Republicans? Are we in Rome now? Is this late Colosseum conduct something that needs to be endured by the American public?

The decline of remotely proper usage in the English language, itself, is a growing scandal now in America, and a daily reminder of the entire failure of our educational system—that still coddles the ravages of such as the corrupt teachers’ unions, who walk hand-in-hand with Planned Parenthood to be sure to corrupt our youth, even in the classrooms. Yes, they are all still funded and not entirely cut off from federal support. Biden made sure of that.

We despair, almost, at the secretive work of Medicare, NIH, and the CDC Inc. in creating and fostering a climate of disease—physical and mental and reproductive and sexual—that targets our little children and youth, and strives to keep their loving parents in the dark. Creating monstrously perverted health issues for the young is a huge industry which RFK Jr. is chipping away at, we have one of the most immoral healthcare systems in the world.  Sexual surgery for our children is still on the table in many states. Our transgender, bonkers murdering sprees are the fruit of our medical and pharmaceutical establishment’s tinkering—doubtless.

And what of immigration? We have illegals still rampaging criminally in America, and we have all of the handy leftist judges and lawyers rushing to their defense, insisting that these criminals are, hilariously, having their “constitutional” rights denied. And they’re getting away with it.

We have a Supreme Court that in the main refuses to act on its clear duty by a definitive rejection and rebuke of the supreme power of rogue judges and lawyers.

The Democrat party’s voter rolls are in free fall; why is that not an issue with its leadership? Well, that’s simple. The Democrats have now, in all proven likelihood, stolen, or tried to, at least two recent presidential elections. There is to this day no accountability. The Demwits plan on stealing a third in the fullness of time. Barring another Clintonesque steal, this wretched party thinks it can again insult, curse, lie, murder (Seth Rich?), and judicially push the Republicans into oblivion.  The Demwits may have a point.

In these political and moral matters, the Republicans are not on solid ground.

Congressional Republicans allowed, and even many in their leadership participated in, the illegal and unjust persecution of President Trump during his first and again now in his second administration.

The Republicans agreed to hang a foreign national flag (Ukraine), publicly and for the cameras, in the Chamber for one of “T-shirt Zelenskyy’s” speaking/fundraising visits, and they agreed to authorize the collective disappearance of an estimated, near one trillion (tax) dollars into the maw of the Biden’s/Ukraine’s characteristic and serial corruption.

Many Congressional Republicans have been in on, to various extent, the take, for every self-enriching strategy available in our decadent Nation’s Capital: the corporate/lobbyist cash, the scandal of secret stock options, insider trading, and also a slew of more petty criminal activity.  They, with the Demwits, have turned a blind eye to the J6 prisoners’ abuse, torture, and solitary confinement by the famously nasty D.C. cops. They have encouraged a terrible injustice to the American people with their J6 lies.

There is a long list for what both political parties don’t merit, on the side of God.

Will God get us out of this in one piece? Maybe, maybe not. There is one item of which history reassures us: with all of this blatant, unrepentant evil in our country today, God will surely act.  And when God acts, everyone will see it. Let it be and hallelujah.

We Don’t Need Gun Control, We Need To Classify Gender Dysphoria As A Mental Illness Again

Curbing the rise of shootings committed by gender-dysphorics starts with treating transgenderism as a serious mental health issue.

When a tragedy like the one at Annunciation Catholic School on August 27 unfolds, the knee-jerk reaction from Democrats and their allies in the corporate media is to demand more gun grabs and recruit Republicans to pass red flag laws.

There is a solution, however, that wouldn’t require any further encroachment on law-abiding Americans’ Second Amendment rights. In fact, the answer lies in the very paperwork and background checks that leftists often claim aren’t enough of an obstacle to guns.

Curbing the alarming rise of shootings committed by people pretending to be the opposite sex starts with treating transgenderism as a serious mental health issue.

Page two of the 4473 transaction record required for any gun purchase from a federally-licensed firearms dealer includes a series of yes or no questions designed to determine someone’s eligibility to purchase and own firearms. Question 21 subhead g specifically asks a potential buyer whether they have “ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?”

As the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms has repeatedly clarified, this provision does not apply to “a person in a mental institution for observation or by voluntary admission.” Instead, it bars people who were “formally committed to a mental institution by court, board, commission or other lawful authority” involuntarily for “mental defectiveness or mental illness” or other reasons such as “drug use.”

For centuries, an open desire to masquerade as the opposite sex was defined and treated as a weighty mental and behavioral disorder. By 1980, transgenderism was officially classified as a psychosexual disorder in third edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. More than 30 years later in 2013, however, APA’s fifth edition DSM removed gender identity disorder as a diagnosis and replaced it with gender dysphoria, which focused less on fixing gender-bending and more on doing whatever it took to relieve the “marked incongruence.”

Widely recognized American and global health and medical institutions quickly followed APA’s lead in shying away from dubbing transgenderism a mental illness. Some, such as Johns Hopkins, went as far as opening centers devoted to “affirming” those struggling with accepting their sex. By 2019, the World Health Organization removed “gender incongruence” from its list of official imbalances.

These irreversible interventions euphemistically referred to as lifesaving “gender affirming care” paired with rhetoric from Democrats who undoubtedly incite violence by insisting Republicans are “erasing trans people” have had more than a decade to take effect.

The results, as seen in both science and culture, are less than ideal. Not only are more people than ever struggling with the social contagion of the LGBT movement, but more of those people are also resorting to deadly acts of violence often linked to and motivated by their struggle.

In olden days, the genderbending and deranged musings of the alleged shooter who sprayed bullets through the stained glass during a Catholic school’s mass would get him institutionalized and easily disqualify him from lawfully obtaining a gun, as law enforcement officials claim he did. Instead, the disordered impulses and feelings of those like the deceased suspect are indulged by his parents, the people who govern him, and leftist-led brainwashing.

With German Economy Shrinking, Government Now Organizes Mandatory Military Service

History rhyming is likely just a coincidence. Then again, if it were a coincidence, it wouldn’t be so predictable would it.

Simultaneous with the German economy contracting and Chancellor Fredrich Merz saying the expansive entitlement programs are no longer sustainable, as if on cue the German Bundestag is now promoting conscription to make their military much bigger.

The compulsory military service plan is being decided amid two options. Option #1 is compulsory service reinstated only if the Bundestag vote for it.  Option #2 is mandated military service becomes automatically law if voluntary conscription targets are missed.

This new military service requirement is coming on the heels of Germany pledging to lead the coalition of the willing on NATO spending.  Remember, CIA operations in Ukraine are based out of Germany.

GERMANY – […] Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s Cabinet on Wednesday approved a sweeping reform of military service, requiring 18-year-old men to register in a new selection system while keeping actual service voluntary.

Those who choose to sign up — typically for a half-year stint, with the option to extend up to 23 months — will be offered more generous pay and training options.

[…] The party aims to introduce changes when the bill comes before parliament for its first reading between Oct. 8 and 10, according to Thomas Erndl, MP and spokesperson for defense policy in Merz’s Christian Democratic bloc.

“We cannot risk a situation where targets are missed and nothing happens — there has to be a mechanism that guarantees the numbers we need,” said Erndl. “That’s why the law needs to be changed.”

Under the government’s draft law, agreed Wednesday, compulsory service could only be reinstated if the Bundestag voted for it. Conservatives want to go further: Their proposal would create an automatic trigger — if recruitment targets are missed, conscription would return without another parliamentary decision. (read more)

Interesting timing.

‘Undercover’ Spy At Center Of WSJ Sob Story Is Actually A Public CIA Russia Hoaxer

The hit piece blaming Intelligence Chief Tulsi Gabbard for outing omnipresent CIA agent Julia Gurganus is filled with falsities.

We’ve grown accustomed to corporate media lying to us. It’s the lazy lies that are perhaps most galling.

The Wall Street Journal’s recent overheated piece on the Trump administration’s public revocation of an “undercover” senior CIA officer is ridiculously lazy. The CIA spook in question is a very overt member of the intelligence community. Just Google the name Julia Gurganus.

‘Zero Concerns’

Wall Street Journal national security reporter Brett Forrest on Wednesday reported that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s naming of Gurganus on a list of 37 current and former officials stripped of their national security clearances has “alarmed people” inside the CIA.

“Gabbard didn’t know the CIA officer had been working undercover, according to a person familiar with the fallout from the list’s release,” Forrest wrote in the hit piece headlined, “Tulsi Gabbard Blindsided CIA Over Revoking Clearance of Undercover Officer.” He noted “three other people with knowledge of the situation” who claimed the DNI “didn’t meaningfully consult with the CIA before releasing the list.”

Wrong, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation say. A senior intelligence official tells The Federalist that there was indeed staff-level coordination between the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the CIA, as well as other agencies involved, ahead of the distribution of the revocations letter.

A source familiar with the matter said there have been “zero concerns” expressed by any of the agencies involved regarding the revocation of Gurganus’ security clearance or any of the others.

The Wall Street Journal piece suggests CIA Director John Ratcliffe is not happy with the public revocation of Gurganus’ security clearance. Forrest does include a comment from a CIA official, who says nothing of the sort.

“Director Ratcliffe and the President’s entire elite national security team are committed to eradicating the politicization of intelligence and are focused on executing President Trump’s national security priorities, and keeping the American people safe,” CIA spokeswoman Liz Lyons told the Journal.

Julia Gurganus Is Everywhere

The piece doesn’t name the CIA official, whom Forrest describes as “a longtime Russia hand at the agency.” There was no need. Julia Gurganus, who has held “intelligence posts for more than 20 years and worked from 2014 to 2017 as an expert on Russia and Eurasia on the National Intelligence Council,” is very well known inside and outside the intelligence community.

For years, Gurganus has flaunted her intelligence community credentials to harvest speaking engagements, public articles, and positions with prestigious organizations.

“Julia Gurganus is a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She is on sabbatical from the CIA,” the left-wing Atlantic notes on its webpage.

She previously served as a nonresident scholar with the Russia and Eurasia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, according to the organization, which notes Gurganus’ “decades working in the U.S. intelligence community on issues related to Eurasia.”

Her photo is included in a Women’s Foreign Policy Group report on Gurganus’ presentation at a 2018 “Beyond the Headlines discussion.”

She spoke at AFCEA’s 2025 Spring Intelligence Symposium, a fact once again promoted online. The nonprofit identified her as senior executive manager for Europe and Eurasia Mission Center, Central Intelligence Agency.

‘Willfully Weaponized’

So it’s curious that Larry Pfeiffer, whom Forrest softly identifies as a former chief of staff at the CIA while omitting his service in the Obama administration, chided Gabbard about outing Gurganus.

“‘A smart [director of national intelligence] would have consulted with CIA’ before identifying the undercover officer,” Pfeiffer told the news outlet. “It could potentially put CIA cover procedures at risk. It could put relations with foreign governments at risk.”

Larry, who boasts about running the Situation Room in the Obama administration, was one of 50-plus deep staters who signed the infamous 2020 letter claiming the Hunter Biden laptop story breaking in the weeks before the election was Russian disinformation. President Donald Trump stripped the former intelligence officials of their security clearances as one of his first acts in January.

“The signatories willfully weaponized the gravitas of the Intelligence Community to manipulate the political process and undermine our democratic institutions,” Trump wrote in his executive order.

For some reason, Forrest left that important bit of information out of his hit piece.

A Matter of Trust

Gurganus was deeply involved in the infamous and highly politicized Intelligence Community Assessment, the antecedent to the Russia Collusion hoax that the accomplice media played a leading role in. She actively oversaw the production of the politically driven ICA, a fact publicly known in 2020, well ahead of Gabbard’s unsealing of intelligence community records exposing the sham report.

She specialized in Russia and Eurasia intel, a go-to for the Obama deep state.

The reams of unsealed documents and a House Intelligence Committee report expose the 2017 intelligence assessment directed by President Barack Obama as a horribly flawed report, debunking its political suppositions that the Trump campaign was colluding with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election.

The documents “show how top intelligence and law enforcement officials — including former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former DNI James Clapper — conspired to fabricate a narrative that Russia meddled in the 2016 election in order to elect Trump,” The Federalist’s CEO Sean Davis wrote earlier this month.

“The declassified records showed that top intelligence experts objected to the narrative, highlighted myriad issues with the so-called intelligence used to support false claims about Trump, and even told Brennan that he was misrepresenting facts and ignoring counter-evidence as part of a push to attack Trump, cripple his transition, and even hijack his presidency,” Davis wrote.

The security clearance revocations were fully merited, ODNI officials say.

“Director of National Intelligence Gabbard directed the revocations to ensure individuals who have violated the trust placed in them by weaponizing, politicizing, manipulating, or leaking classified intelligence are no longer allowed to do so,” an agency official told The Federalist in an email.

‘False Stories’

Buried in the Wall Street Journal piece, Forrest acknowledges that the “CIA official whose clearance was revoked” is identified in her “publicly listed biography” and that earlier this year “the CIA officer spoke at a classified intelligence conference and was described as a senior executive manager in the CIA’s Europe and Eurasia mission center.”

Forrest did not return a request for comment. The Federalist asked the Wall Street Journal reporter about his representation of the story:

Julia Gurganus could hardly be considered “covert” or “undercover.” Her name shows up everywhere in the simplest online searches — as a CIA agent. You even note as much in your piece. So how do you explain the dubious headline and characterization of Gurganus’ undercover status? Have you considered that your sources with “knowledge of the situation” may not have all the information or may not be telling the truth?

The usual suspects in the accomplice media echoed the Wall Street Journal piece.

Alexa Henning, deputy chief of staff at the Office of Director of National Intelligence, called out National Review’s incurious Noah Rothman for “repeating false stories from @WSJ that I spent all day debunking and they printed anyway because they are just simple minded puppets for the Deep State (including Noah).”

Lazy puppets at that.

Bolton Investigation Began During Biden Administration

Once again, the narratives of the fake-news media collapse.

For several days the media has been saying the Trump administration FBI targeted John Bolton, hence the FBI raid on his home and office.  However, the New York Times now outlines how the investigation into John Bolton began during the Biden administration and picked up speed after they received access to his email information from an “adversarial country’s spy service.”

Apparently, John Bolton used an unclassified email system to send information to his friends and allies.  The emails were intercepted.  Bolton was discussing information that appears to have been the outcome of his access to classified information as National Security Advisor.

CTH has previously outlined how John Bolton’s business model was essentially selling information and influence.  This common DC business model seems to have formed the baseline for him to share sensitive, possibly classified information, of greater value.  This does not come as a surprise.

Selling information is the currency of affluence in Washington DC.  That’s why the removal of security clearances is looked upon as devastating within the beltway.  New York Times story below:

NEW YORK TIMES – The investigation into President Trump’s former national security adviser, John R. Bolton, began to pick up momentum during the Biden administration, when U.S. intelligence officials collected information that appeared to show that he had mishandled classified information, according to people familiar with the inquiry.

The United States gathered data from an adversarial country’s spy service, including emails with sensitive information that Mr. Bolton, while still working in the first Trump administration, appeared to have sent to people close to him on an unclassified system, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive case that remains open.

The emails in question, according to the people, were sent by Mr. Bolton and included information that appeared to derive from classified documents he had seen while he was national security adviser. Mr. Bolton apparently sent the messages to people close to him who were helping him gather material that he would ultimately use in his 2020 memoir, “The Room Where It Happened.”

In a sign of the stakes for Mr. Bolton, he is in talks to retain the high-profile criminal defense lawyer Abbe Lowell. Mr. Lowell, who has represented Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Mr. Biden’s son Hunter, is defending two other prominent perceived enemies of Mr. Trump who are now under scrutiny: the New York state attorney general, Letitia James, and Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve Board. At the time of the raid, we noted the activity of Bolton mirrors that of former Senator John McCain (now dead). “An FBI investigation under the auspices of potential violations of the Espionage Act, where Bolton would have leveraged current or prior classified intelligence information as part of his influence business.

Almost identically to former Senator John McCain, John Bolton was well known to intersect with the nation of Qatar as part of his operation.  Qatar has deep pockets and a long-identified influence operation throughout the Middle East, sometimes playing both sides. Qatar is also the playground for the CIA.

While it is yet unknown which nation and which activity Bolton was likely engaged in, the highest probability centers around the deepest pockets, which would also put Bolton on the CIA radar.

Since initially writing that outline, someone noticed this video from John McCain’s funeral.  WATCH CLOSELY:

Something is being given to John Bolton in that video.  Something from Mouaz Moustafa, Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF) and Senator John McCain’s intermediary to the Muslim Brotherhood. {Go Deep}

If I had to guess, from the position of Moustafa and those behind him (Muslim Brotherhood/Qatar), John Bolton became the replacement for John McCain after the senator’s death.  We wait to find out the details of the predicate for the FBI raid.
