Maybe We Should Let Liberal Cities Burn

It’s time to accept that some people simply cannot be reached – they are like smelly, virgin Terminators who cannot be reasoned with. They’re called Democrats. Not all Democrats, some aren’t complete automatons, they’re just too busy and don’t pay attention to anything outside their immediate area. That’s fine, people don’t have to pay attention. But they do need to be informed about how their fellow Democrats are either actively engaging in activities that are anti-American or enabling those activities. And then we must let all of them marinate in the consequences of their stupid decisions.

California is a mess. Much of what burned in wildfires from liberal “environmental” policies preventing forest management will burn because of bad liberal policies. I’m having real difficulty trying to bring myself to care.

Honestly, aside from a couple of friends, several of whom are in the process of leaving the Los Angeles area, I couldn’t care less what happens out there. I felt bad for them when their city burned in state government-fueled wildfires. Still, the aftermath that has people being absolutely screwed by local and state governments as they try to demolish the charred remains of their houses so they can start to rebuild is all their doing. They voted for these idiots as they imposed insane permitting laws and regulations that will make it take years before anyone can rebuild their home, so why should I care if they’ve screwed themselves into a corner?

There comes a certain point at which you tell your friend who continually complains that everyone they date turns out to be a loser that they’re actively pursuing losers – that their problems are their own fault – and you keep your mouth shut when they bring around the next loser. That’s how I view Democrats.

It’s one thing when they make problems for themselves; it’s another when they spend their time, effort, and our money trying to impose those problems on everyone else. Love public schools? Great, send your kids there. (A lot of them don’t, and the rest move to places with good schools, where most people can’t afford to live.) But don’t work to make it more difficult, or impossible, for others to do the same.

But I’m straying. This is about California. To hell with LA?

Should we just leave the state to destroy itself? They do overwhelmingly vote for the people who are making that happen, so maybe we should let them. They’re going broke and will likely be looking for a federal bailout soon. Pass. You can only tell a kid something is sharp or hot so many times. If they’re hell-bent on touching it to find out for themselves, you just have to accept that they’re going to do it.

Some people can learn by being taught, while others have to learn the hard way. After generations of blind loyalty to a failed political party, it is abundantly clear that Democrats fall into the latter category.

Of course, there are always the questions you have for yourself when you are faced with the idea of letting an American city be overrun by criminals, like will the Democrats eventually step up and stop their base from harming their fellow Americans? I honestly do not know the answer to that question.

You’d think they would – they need their votes, after all. But Democrats are an odd, evil bunch who stand with mutilating the genitals of children and embrace the idea of kindergarten teachers discussing their sex lives with their 5-year-old students, so it’s difficult to predict.

Rationally, no politician would side with the unambiguous majority of the population on anything, let alone one that sexualizes children in any way. But that’s where the energy is in the Democratic Party – they’re a very motivated interest group on the left. You’re not really dealing with people; rational thought occurs to these, who are the door-knocking activist donor base.

If you stand with people who shouldn’t be within a football field of a child, I don’t think you’ve got the best judgment or moral compass. I also have difficulty caring if you spend your time punching yourself in the face, literally or metaphorically.

Ultimately, I’m inclined to let California leftists punch themselves in the face, but only to a certain point. I’ll be curious to see if that point is before or after their Governor has had enough. I honestly don’t know the answer to that.

The LA Chaos Is an Illusion and Trump Will Not Fall for It

Let’s understand what’s going on in Los Angeles because most people don’t. This is not a battle of cops versus rioters; it is a battle between narratives. Most people see regime media video of Third World savages waving the tacky banners of their garbage homelands, lighting fires, hassling cops, and doing other things consistent with being barbarians, and think that Los Angeles is in chaos and therefore get scared. The idea behind this color revolution – it is organized and planned, not spontaneous or genuine – is to intimidate normal people into submitting and embracing the politicians associated with its goals in the hopes that it will stop. This is the work of the Democrat Party; the rioters are its useful idiots, acting to support the party’s goals while its maintaining deniability. But this scheme only succeeds if the target is feckless and weak, which such targets usually are. Trump isn’t. He’s going to win this because he understands this fight better than his enemies. The chaos is an illusion; his strength is reality.

Remember, this is not a kinetic operation. A kinetic operation achieves its goal by the violence itself. Kinetic operations destroy enemy personnel, reduce enemy combat power, or conquer territory through physical destruction. But this is an information operation. It accomplishes its mission by influencing the population. The violence itself is not an end, but a means; the goal is to compel people to submit by convincing them to accept the narrative.

And the narrative here is that Los Angeles is in complete chaos as a result of Donald Trump attempting to enforce federal law, so to stop the violence, Donald Trump must be compelled to cease enforcing federal law. This, of course, would be a devastating neutering of Trump while strengthening the Democrats. They want to make Trump look weak and convince America to submit to their intimidation. But this plot only works if we accept the illusion they are presenting.

Remember, it’s an information operation. None of what you see on the regime media is real. Oh, they are burning a few cars and screaming and yelling and running around waving flags of garbage countries, but what does any of that actually do? Nothing. They can’t make anyone do anything. They are not eliminating any federal law-enforcement capabilities. They are not significantly hindering federal law enforcement operations. They are not holding significant territory over time. They’re simply acting out in front of the cameras to try to convince you that Trump is powerless.

To some extent, this works. As a Southern Californian, I’ve been bombarded by people around the country asking me if I’m okay. Of course, I’m okay. I live among rich people who like their Chardonnay oaky and their illegal alien domestic help cheap and compliant. They won’t let that nonsense happen in my neighborhood. Hell, my liberal neighbors would call the local SWAT team in if poor people knocked over one of their “Hate Has No Home Here” signs. The violence is happening downtown, where practically nobody lives except bums and a few urban pioneers, as well as in some scruffy suburban cities on the east side of the metropolis. The impact on the daily life of 99% of people in Los Angeles is exactly zero. There are approximately 20 million people here. Maybe 5,000 have anything to do with this nonsense.

Again, it’s all an illusion designed to frighten and confuse you. That’s what an information operation does. It creates a narrative in people’s brains to achieve an effect it can’t achieve by force. These mobs don’t have the capacity to do much of anything except block some freeways and set a few cars on fire. If the cops and the Guard decided to get kinetic, they’d be wiped out faster than they could chant, “No justice, no arrrggggghhhh.” They aren’t a revolutionary army. They are a bunch of jerks pretending to be a threat.

And Trump has called their bluff. They were counting on what usually happens when the professional agitators in blue cities start getting frisky – they get catered to by the Democrats who run these urban areas. The Democrats react like a mommy while Trump reacts like a daddy. He’s not taking any of their guff, but what is important is that he understands that this is an information operation. He escalated by activating the California Army National Guard – I was a deputy commander of the brigade Trump called out and on the streets with the Army during the Los Angeles riots – but not so he could go kinetic. He’s not calling in the Guard or the Marines to bust heads or quell disorder, like we did in 1992. The guardsmen are basically providing point security around federal facilities to free up federal cops to go out and do cop things like arrest scumbags.

What Trump is doing is messaging to the country that he’s not taking their crap. He’s not going to be intimidated. He’s not going to let this get out of control. The ones who are letting it get out of control are the Democrats who run California, like slack-jawed moron Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Hairstyle. Let’s understand the relationship between the riots and the Democrat establishment. The rioters are catspaws, cut-outs whose act of violence and intimidation support Democrat policies even as the Democrat establishment pretends to be upset about the chaos. However, the Democrats must at least appear to be trying to maintain order. Trump knows that is one of their weaknesses. He is sticking them with the consequences of their own disorder. Have you noticed how the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles sheriffs, and the California Highway Patrol are the ones dealing with riots? They are the ones who look powerless in the face of the rioters. This, in turn, makes Gavin Newsom and his pals look powerless – an image compounded when they whine and complain impotently about Trump calling up the Guard and Trump ignores them.

A color revolution information operation depends on an inept response from the targeted authority. Either the target of authority overreacts by going in and shooting a bunch of people, therefore appalling the weak-hearted citizenry, or it under-reacts and demonstrates its own powerlessness. But the color revolution fails when the target understands the game better than the leftists who initiated it. That’s what’s happened here. Donald Trump has projected strength, but not too much strength. He understands that normal American citizens are going to show absolutely no sympathy for the vandals, looters, illegal aliens, and other criminals, setting fires and looting 7-Elevens live on television. He has made Democrat officials look weak by ignoring their whining and forcing them to handle the part of the response that creates the worst optics.

At the same time, this situation provides an opportunity for Trump’s federal law enforcement to map out the network of organizations and individuals who coordinated and logistically supported rioting in Los Angeles. This isn’t a unique phenomenon. Leftist groups do this all around the country. Remember, time is on Trump’s side. Federal law enforcement can target the conspirators with criminal indictments and finally break this cycle. It can dismantle the infrastructure that allows these faux-spontaneous insurrections to pop up across the country. Offering rewards for specific criminals is another way to highlight to Americans that these people are criminals. And the situation also provides an opportunity to defund the government support to NGOs that launder government money to fund this kind of violence. The LA rioting has exposed our enemy to scrutiny, and we should take full advantage of that to crush it.

Trump is handling this just right. The battle isn’t on the streets of Los Angeles. The battle is in the hearts and minds of normal Americans. When normal Americans see burning and looting by degenerates, they are naturally frightened and appalled. What the leftists want to do, what the purpose of their information operation is, is to convince normal people that they have no choice but to submit because no one can protect them. Trump breaks that paradigm by providing an alternative – he will protect them, and therefore normal citizens don’t have to submit to the intimidation. All you need is someone willing to stand up to these dirtbags and it completely disrupts their info op.

The left has two main options going forward. One is to become even more violent and see if they can provoke an overreaction – remember, they don’t have the combat power to achieve anything by force. Even if they increase their level of violence, this is still an information operation. However, they risk overplaying their hand and justifying a forceful reaction by Trump. If some criminal – a substantial number of the rioters are not political activists but common street thugs – decides to shoot a fed and the feds shoot back, normal people are going to cheer.

The second and more likely course of action is for the word to go out to dial back the disorder. It’s not working. It’s not having the desired effect. It’s also hurting the Democrats, who tacitly support the violence but want to maintain distance from it. It’s their city that’s in chaos, not Trump’s. The Democrats are united in whining about Trump not submitting like cowards to the thugs, but all this is doing is making them look weak. It’s not Trump‘s forces that are getting pushed around by the rioters; it’s the Democrats’ local cops who are. The Democrats have had nothing but problems lately, and the last thing they needed was to have several days of news footage making them look ineffectual while also blowing the Elon vs. Donald cage match off the front pages.

The only real question is whether or not Donald Trump and his team planned this. It’s working to his advantage  – the Big Beautiful Bill debate just stopped being about saving a few pennies and became about saving our country from foreign invaders. You have to wonder whether the Trump 2.0 administration specifically choose a super leftist city to spin up ICE raids knowing that there would be a riotous backlash that they could then co-opt to message strength. Did they make a conscious decision to provide America a clear and unequivocal choice?

All I can say is that I hope so.

The Alarming Decay of Mathematical Competency in America

Editor's Note: This article was originally published by RealClear Education, and is cross-posted here with permission.

Even Harvard University now offers remedial math classes for incoming students. Harvard’s critics persuasively suggest that Harvard shouldn’t have pursued “equity” by ending standardized testing requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. But that’s not the only reason Harvard students now need remedial math. America’s K-12 mathematics education has decayed so much that even Harvard students can’t make the grade. America’s state mathematics standards bear much of the blame.

America’s existing mathematics standards promote neither high achievement nor democratic accessibility. While a few states, such as Florida, have greatly improved their standards, 41 states still model their math standards on the counterproductively mediocre Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM). While the CCSSM contains some useful elements, on the whole, it provides a vague outline of content knowledge, it lacks rigor, and it was rushed into public use without sufficient testing and evaluation. One K-12 teacher puts it this way:

To call what [the Common Core] focuses on ‘understanding’ is both misleading and wrong, and there’s a clear trend showing persistent loss of procedural proficiency among our students as a result. The end result of the Common Core-aligned math curriculum is STEM-deficiency rather than STEM-proficiency.

The most cogent critique of the CCSSM, however, is that American mathematics education has not benefited from its adoption. American students’ test scores on national and international tests have declined in recent years. On the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), American test scores have shown sustained declines from 2019 to 2024. The lowest-performing 25% of students have shown marked declines since about 2015. American students also have seen their average scores plummet on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) mathematics test. Average American scores dropped from 478 in 2018 to 465 in 2022, below the average for developed countries. American per capita spending on education, meanwhile, remains substantially above the developed country average.

This decay of mathematical competency in America affects higher education as well. In 2019, 39% of high school graduates in America were prepared for undergraduate mathematics courses. In 2022, that proportion had declined to 31%. With such a scarcity of prepared American students, many universities have turned elsewhere to fill their math departments. In 2021, 54% of American doctoral degrees in mathematics and statistics were awarded to temporary visa holders. While these foreign-born students should be commended for their industry, it is clear that American K-12 math education does not prepare American students to flourish in undergraduate or graduate math education.

Finally, the crisis in America’s mathematics education system has sparked a mass exodus of teachers, especially elementary teachers, from the teaching profession. More teachers are leaving the classroom than ever before, and the attrition rates for new teachers leaving their schools are especially alarming. Tellingly, teachers fleeing the profession often list the complexity, ambiguity, and infeasibility of the educational standards and the standardized tests that accompany them as one of their primary reasons for leaving the profession. Our current education standards don’t just inhibit student learning; they positively drive talented teachers out of our classrooms.

In short, the United States spends an extraordinary amount of money on mathematics education to achieve poor results. We are falling behind our peers and rivals in math education, a failure that threatens our national security as well as our prosperity. The CCSSM and its related adaptations in the states have lowered the bar too far, sacrificing both achievement and accessibility in a misguided quest for equity and inclusion.

This bleak state of affairs cries out for reform. America needs a new set of mathematics standards that addresses the issues that plague our educational institutions. These new standards should prescribe a pathway to success that emphasizes content-rich, research-based instruction that is easy for teachers to understand and implement.

That’s why the National Association of Scholars and Freedom in Education have created The Archimedes Standards: Model PreK-12 State Mathematics Standards. The Archimedes Standards integrates content-rich standards with sustained attention to lucidity, practicality, flexibility, and democratic accessibility. They are lucid, rigorous, and accessible, and they help ensure that all American students have the opportunity to learn mathematics for their own advancement and for the public good.

The Archimedes Standards are intended above all as models for state education standards—but we would be delighted if they informed mathematics education in school districts, charter schools, private schools, and home schools. We have crafted them to be useful for every variety of education.

But state mathematics standards are the linchpin of mathematics education—they stand halfway between state laws and school district policies, and they have more power to shape American mathematics education than any other single document. We absolutely need good state mathematics standards—a positive vision of what they should be, and not just a critique of the shortcomings of existing mathematics standards. Policy institutes, grassroots organizations, and policymakers all can use them to press the education establishment: Why don't you teach this?

States and school districts should create mathematics standards modeled on the Archimedes Standards because it teaches American students so they can regain their heritage of mathematical excellence.

The Archimedes Standards will even make it possible for Harvard to stop having to offer remedial math classes.

Has the Democratic Party, Once Again, Started a Civil War in America?

Under Obama and Biden, they have brought in their troops—20+ million illegals from around the world, most of whom would rather fight than go home. They have, in the previous few decades, used the American education system to brainwash millions of robots to hate their country, to view America as racist, sexist, fascist, homophobic, white supremacist, and the greatest enemy of mankind.

Their media cohorts have been for years and continue to preach this message daily to all who will listen, making millions of converts.

Has the Democratic Party, like at Fort Sumter, once again started a civil war in the United States? Are the first shots being fired in Los Angeles?

I read this headline today in “The Liberty Daily”: “Communist Agitators Are Planning and Organizing Mass ‘Protests’ For Flag Day June 14.” A map accompanied the headline, showing almost the entire country covered by “dots” where the protests were being scheduled. We’ll have to wait and see if this happens, but don’t be surprised if it does.

The Left, in the past 100 years, has used civil war to gain power when they could not do so legally through elections. This has been the rule, rather than the exception.  In 1918, when he couldn’t win the support of a majority of the Russian people at the ballot box (not even close), Vladimir Lenin started a bloody civil war where millions died. His “Reds” finally outlasted the “White” opposition, and set up the communist despotism in the country that for the next 70 years, murdered millions of people, and tortured, impoverished, brainwashed, oppressed, and terrified countless millions more. The greatest day in Russian history was when the monstrous regime finally collapsed in the early 1990s.

It happened, of course, in China, too. After World War II, Mao Zedong initiated a civil war to wrest power from the Nationalists under Chiang Kai-Shek. Millions died in that war, and once again, the communists, who cared not how many people died as long as they ended up in power, finally outlasted Chiang, who fled to Taiwan. Since 1949, the communist dictatorship in China has been the most murderous in human history. Mao’s death toll approaches 70 million. Xi Jinping, apparently wanting to challenge Mao’s numbers, is still killing Chinese in untold numbers, not to mention his new COVID-19 on top of the one he turned loose in 2019 that decimated millions around the world. That barbaric regime still exists.

In 1950, Kim Il Sung, in North Korea, launched a civil war against the South. Millions of Koreans, Americans, and Chinese died, and nothing was accomplished, at least for North Korea. The South was saved. But millions more have died under the tyrannical North Korean Kim dynasty since. It remains one of the most oppressive despotisms on earth today.

There were others. Castro started a civil war to gain power (successfully) in Cuba. Vietnam, under Ho Chi Minh, had a decades-long war, which eventuated in a communist takeover in that entire country and caused the killing fields of Cambodia. No, civil war is not unknown to Leftists; in fact, it has been their most successful way and most often used manner of seizing the totalitarian power they crave and live for. They have to do it because the people never vote for it or want it. And they care not how many millions die in the process. Just like the Democratic Party in America cares not how much property or how many lives will be destroyed in Los Angeles. Power, not compassion, is their total raison d’être.

We know what they want. They want the illegals to stay in America and spread to as many states as possible, shifting enough “red” states to “blue” so that the Democrats can have a permanent majority on both the national and state levels, and thus can inaugurate their Leftist, globalist plan for the United States. This is all about power, and nothing more than that. The Democratic Party, just like Lenin, just like Mao, just like the Kims, just like Ho Chi Minh, just like Castro, just like Pol Pot, cannot win power legally and electorally. Once the people realize, as they did in America in 2024, what the Left is trying to do, they reject it.  Hence, violence. Civil war. That’s the next step.

Is that what the Democrats are starting in Los Angeles?  Another civil war?

The Democratic Party leadership obviously cares absolutely nothing about the well-being of the illegal aliens. The illegals are just one of the tools the Left is using to try to take power in America. There may be some dumb, brainwashed, bleeding-heart parrots among the Democratic Party faithful who cry “refugees” and “oppressed” (aren’t we glad 1.5 billion oppressed Chinese and North Koreans don’t “migrate” to America?). Still, the Democratic Party leadership, the Obamas, Pelosis, Schumers, etc., know what they are doing and care only about control. And they realize they will never get the power they want legally and electorally—not unless they can make voters of the illegals and spread them to as many states as possible so that the Democratic Party can indeed gain power “legally” and permanently, having the majority and the totalitarian power they lust for.

They blame Trump for Los Angeles, of course, and indeed, if the President would give the illegals everything they want—free money, health care, housing, jobs that will depress the wages of Americans, and finally amnesty, citizenship, and the right to vote—yes, if Mr. Trump would promise that to the illegals, there would be no Los Angeles. But there would be no more America, either. Not the America that so many people loved and died for.

Civil war? Is Los Angeles the first shot? The Left will never stop. Never. They are trying to outlast us.

New York Times Obtains Internal FSB Report Highlighting Russian Govt Concerns About Chinese Influence

At sporadic times of inconsequential normalcy, on the streets of Russia you will see two distinct types of people asked for identification, Asians and middle eastern males. When asked why, the average, ordinary grey-person in Russia going about their business, ambivalently has no idea.

Russia is a massive country.

To the southeast they are bordered by China, Mongolia and Asia, they even have a small border with North Korea. To the southwest they have the “stans,” most notably Kazakhstan; this region is the source of most domestic terrorists who attack inside Russia. To the West they have Ukraine and the EU nations.

From the standpoint of Russia, they have Asians on their East, Arabs on their South and EU supported Nazis on their Western flank. Keep in mind, despite the breakup of the Soviet Union the muscle memory from World War II is still very much a part of their social compact.

Consider Arlington Cemetary for scale. If you were to build a cemetery just from the battle of Leningrad (now St Petersburg) it would be bigger than Washington DC. If you were to build an Arlington type cemetery for all the Russians killed in World War II, the 27 million gravesites would envelop a landmass bigger than Washington DC and the state of Virginia combined.  These realities underpin Russian perspectives.

CTH shared previously that Russia is drawn into an alignment with China not by desire, but rather by necessity.  Most ordinary Russians do not like China, and they would prefer not to purchase Chinese industrial or manufactured goods.  Russian President Vladimir Putin is well aware of this, and I believe U.S. President Donald Trump is aware also.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said publicly it should be U.S. policy to support separating the two biggest nuclear powers, China and Russia as a matter of strategic U.S. interest.  President Trump said, “I’m going to have to un-unite them, and I think I can do that, too,” shortly before his election in November. “I have to un-unite them.” {link}

In a very downplayed statement earlier this year hidden by media, the former Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and current Secretary of State -also National Security Advisor- Marco Rubio, said “Ukraine was a proxy war for the United States against Russia.”  Despite the U.S. media intentionally hiding the statement, Moscow immediately noticed and affirmed the accuracy.

Ukraine launched a covert attack against Russian air force bases last Sunday June 1st.  President Trump was not informed of the attack in advance and was unaware it was going to take place.  In the aftermath, President Trump and Secretary Rubio stayed quiet.

Three days after the attack, Wednesday, June 4, President Trump held a 90-minute phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Last week the New York Times received “an eight-page internal F.S.B. planning document” … “that sets priorities for fending off Chinese espionage.”

[…] Ares Leaks, a cybercrime group, obtained the document but did not say how it did so. That makes definitive authentication impossible, but The Times shared the report with six Western intelligence agencies, all of which assessed it to be authentic. The document gives the most detailed behind-the-scenes view to date of Russian counterintelligence’s thinking about China.

[…] Russia has survived years of Western financial sanctions following the invasion, proving wrong the many politicians and experts who predicted the collapse of the country’s economy.

[…] The Russian document describes a “tense and dynamically developing” intelligence battle in the shadows between the two outwardly friendly nations.

[…] Read one way, the F.S.B. document lends credence to the theory that, with the right approach, Russia can be cleaved away from China. The document describes mistrust and suspicion on both sides of the relationship. (more)

CTH will repeat prior outlines based on available public data as well as my research trip into the current disposition of Russia.  The Russian Federation and the Russian people do not want deepening ties with China.

Despite people from the Eastern side of Russia often being called Asians, even within Russia they are known as Asian-Russians, they do not align with a Chinese worldview.  One of the key positive characteristics of Russia is the lack of pretending both in government and in the people.  Russians do not describe China as the panda; they have very clear eyes and see the dragon behind the panda mask.

From the Southeast Russia has Chinese espionage pressure points; from the Southwest Russia has Arab terrorist pressure points; from the West Russia has EU/Nazi NATO pressure points, and the CIA has activated strategies to stimulate all these agitations.

All of my political instincts tell me that President Putin and President Trump are in alignment.  The challenge for President Trump is to overcome the opposition forces from within Western government (NATO) and Western media.

When President Trump and President Putin come into open alignment, the entire world changes.

Their opposition knows this.

Another Chinese Researcher Caught Smuggling Agricultural Bioweapons into Michigan

After reading the details of this arrest involving the smuggling of biological Roundworms, parasitic nematodes that can infect humans and animals, I am definitely adding Ivermectin and fenbendazole to the crisis kit.

Last week, two Chinese nationals were charged with allegedly smuggling into the U.S. a fungus called “Fusarium graminearum, which scientific literature classifies as a potential agroterrorism weapon. This week another Chinese national was arrested for smuggling in biological material containing Roundworms. Both the fungi and the Roundworm material can target and impact the U.S. agriculture sector, i.e. food supply.

DETROIT – Chengxuan HAN, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), was arrested and charged in a criminal complaint with smuggling goods into the United States and false statements, announced United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr.

Gorgon was joined in the announcement by Special Agent in Charge Cheyvoryea Gibson, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Detroit Division, Acting Director of Field Operations John Nowak, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Jared Murphey, acting Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Detroit field office.

According to the complaint, Han is a citizen of the PRC who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the College of Life Science and Technology in the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan, PRC. In 2024 and 2025, Han sent four packages to the United States from the PRC containing concealed biological material. These packages were addressed to individuals associated with a laboratory at the University of Michigan. On June 8, 2025, Han arrived at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport on a J1 visa.

Customs and Border Protection officers conducted an inspection of Han, during which Han made false statements about the packages and the biological materials she had previously shipped to the United States. CBP officers also found that the content of Han’s electronic device had been deleted three days prior to her arrival in the United States. At the conclusion of the border inspection, Han was interviewed by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and ICE HSI. During this interview, Han admitted to sending the packages, admitted that the packages contained biological material related to round worms, and admitted to making false statements to the CBP officers during her inspection.

[…] United States Attorney Gorgon stated: “The alleged smuggling of biological materials by this alien from a science and technology university in Wuhan, China—to be used at a University of Michigan laboratory—is part of an alarming pattern that threatens our security. The American taxpayer should not be underwriting a PRC-based smuggling operation at one of our crucial public institutions.” (read more)

Foreign-Born Reps Defending Anti-ICE Rioters Prove Founders Were Right To Be Wary Of Foreign Influence In Government

A republic cannot endure when leaders do not see themselves as stewards of a specific people and culture.

Rather than work to preserve national sovereignty and protect America, a handful of foreign-born representatives are actively undermining immigration enforcement and encouraging lawlessness.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who was born in India and naturalized in 2000, issued a call to action to oppose immigration enforcement, saying: “We are here to say, ‘Free the immigrants that have been arrested.’ We are here to say, ‘End the ICE raids!'”

Her comments come as violent riots erupt in Los Angeles in opposition to immigration enforcement measures. Rioters have attacked police vehicles, thrown fireworks at officers on horseback, looted, and disrupted traffic — all while waving the Mexican flag and burning the American flag.

Jayapal’s comments were echoed by California Rep. Norma Torres (who was born in Guatemala and became a citizen in 1992), who threatened that chaos would continue until ICE leaves Los Angeles.

“ICE, get the f-ck out of L.A. so that order can be restored,” Torres said.

Torres and Jayapal’s comments follow a string of comments made over the years by Somali-born Rep. Ilhan Omar, who reportedly went so far as to make a video tutorial for how illegal aliens should evade ICE.

When foreign-born politicians use their platform to shield illegal aliens, they reveal their loyalties lie not with the American people but with foreigners. These are not isolated judgments either. They are ideological positions grounded in a worldview that sees America not as a nation to be protected but a country to be fundamentally remade.

And herein lies the danger of allowing foreign-born citizens to hold elected office.

Alexander Hamilton explained in 1802 that “the safety of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common National sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of the citizens from foreign bias, and prejudice; and on that love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education and family.”

Hamilton cautioned how it is “extremely unlikely” that foreigners “will bring with them that temperate love of liberty, so essential to real republicanism” and that foreigners will “entertain opinions on government congenial with those under which they have lived.”

The threat of foreign bias was strong enough that some Founders openly warned of the dangers of permitting foreigners to hold public office.

In a letter to George Washington, John Jay wrote: “Permit me to hint, whether it would not be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government.”

Members of the Constitutional Convention debated on Aug. 13, 1787, about how long an immigrant needs to be a citizen before he could become a member of the House of Representatives. Elbridge Gerry “wished that in future the eligibility might be confined to Natives. Foreign powers will intermeddle in our affairs, and spare no expence to influence them. Persons having foreign attachments will be sent among us and insinuated into our councils, in order to be made instruments for their purpose.”

James Madison “wished to invite foreigners of merit and republican principles among us.” But he believed (perhaps naively) that while there were dangers associated with foreigners “obtain[ing] appointments,” it would not happen in “any dangerous degree.” Madison opined that “our own people [would] prefer natives of this Country to [foreigners],” thereby remedying his concern.

Unfortunately, Madison could never have imagined that the United States would be the epicenter of mass Third-World migration.

The Founders envisioned a future America that remained culturally and civically united. A nation in which elected representatives would possess an undivided loyalty to the United States, grounded not merely in legal status, but shared value, tradition, and culture. That vision assumed a citizenry — and especially a political class — that would promote whatever is best for the nation’s survival. In this case, that would be enforcement of immigration laws and mass deportations.

But a republic cannot endure when leaders do not see themselves as stewards of a specific people, culture, and nation. When foreign-born lawmakers champion the causes of foreigners over Americans, they make clear their loyalties are divided and, in some cases, not aligned with the future of the country they claim to represent.
