Zelenskyy and the Future of NATO

Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s childish histrionics and ultimatums in the Oval Office directed at President Trump’s efforts to bring an end to the most devastating war on the continent of Europe since World War II are reflective of the European delusional mindset of self-serving expectations and perceived American obligations stemming from a one-sided seventy-five-year alliance -- the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A treaty that evolved into the United States effectively taking upon itself the unappreciated role of military protector of nearly half of the European continent.

The major purpose of NATO was to deter an aggressive and despotic Soviet Union from attacking Western Europe and by extension the United States. That possibility ended in 1991 with the collapse and breakup of the Soviet Union. History has shown that once the stated purpose of a military alliance no longer exists that alliance must be disbanded, or it will assume other purposes that inevitably leads to conflicts.

The ruling classes in the United States and Western Europe, regardless of changing circumstances in Europe and incapable of restraining their infatuation with Euro-socialism, decided to avoid gradually turning over the defense of Europe to the Europeans. Instead, they opted to expand and redefine NATO while the United States would continue to provide virtually the entirety of the military umbrella protecting the continent.

The process of turning over the defense of Europe to the Europeans should have been initiated and accelerated in 1993 when the European Union and unified economic, social, and security policies came into being while Russia embarked on democratization. Instead, the 27 nations of the European Union, with a GDP second only to the United States, remained reliant on America and its massive defense commitments instead of spending their own money.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union and its satellites, the United States has spent over $1 Trillion in direct expenditures within NATO while also providing protection for vital sea lanes and a nuclear umbrella over the continent.

In order to keep NATO alive, the European and American ruling classes duplicitously continued to cast Russia as being the same threat as the old Soviet Union, thus, undermining the democratization efforts within Russia. An irrational fear of a nonexistent nation and its satellites was conferred upon its much smaller and far less formidable successor. The population of present-day Russia is 33% of that of the old Soviet Union and its satellites and the GDP of present-day Russia is effectively less than 30% of the old Soviet Union and its satellites.

The combined population of the European Union plus Great Britain (512 million) is 3.5 times larger than Russia (144 million) and their overall annual GDP of $20.4 Trillion is 10 times larger than the GDP of Russia ($2.0 Trillion). After the breakup of the Soviet Union, the Europeans were more than capable of defending themselves against a comparatively anemic and far less lethal Russia as exemplified by their ongoing inability to defeat a far smaller and weaker Ukraine.

European duplicity combined with American political myopia kept an American-dominated NATO alive. Not only was it maintained but expanded by adding 14 new countries, all of whom were former Soviet Union satellites on Russia’s western border, thus exacerbating Russian paranoia (with Ukraine’s potential admittance into NATO being an irreversible flashpoint). This centuries-old paranoia combined with rampant internal corruption undermined their democratization efforts and eventually led to a new Russian autocratic oligarchy headed by a megalomaniacal dictator, Vladimir Putin.

Since the Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the United States has spent or appropriated to be spent $183 Billion plus another $20 Billion in loans for a total of $203 Billion, an amount that exceeds the annual GDP of seventy percent of the nations in the world. Further, only America and its chief adversary China ($267 Billion) spend more per year on their military budgets.

Through the end of December 2024 the European Union plus Great Britain have spent or committed to spend $100 Billion in Ukraine or half of what the taxpayers in the United States have been compelled to contribute.

Meanwhile the U.S. national debt is now $36.5 Trillion and is equivalent to 133% of the annual GDP ($27.7 Trillion) as America’s national debt exceeds its annual economic output.

By comparison, the national debt of the 27 countries in the European Union plus Great Britain is currently $18 Trillion, and their debt is equivalent to 90%of their annual GDP ($20.4 Trillion).

America’s role in NATO is the backdrop behind Zelenskyy’s histrionics and demands in the Oval Office meeting with President Trump. In reality, he is reflecting the mindset of the bulk of Europe’s ruling elites that the easily dupped Americans will always be there to defend and pay the bulk of the Alliance’s military spending -- an outlook that for the past seventy-years has been embedded in the European psyche. The rush to praise and defendZelenskyy’s words and actions confirms this inbred reality among Europe’s ruling class.

Thus, Zelenskyy, who is not a Euro-sophisticate, in his dealings with an American president determined to end the war, seek repayment for the monies forwarded by the American taxpayers, and refusal to commit to further American military involvement, became juvenilely unhinged as he insulted and confronted President Trump. The only difference between Zelenskyy and the sophisticated European elites is that the latter harbor the same disdain for the United States but do so in private or among themselves.

Donald Trump will ultimately succeed in ending the war in Ukraine, which has evolved into a World War I carnage-riddled stalemate. Trump should then announce that over the next four-years America will dramatically reduce its military footprint in Europe and phase out of NATO and the obligation to embroil itself in intra-European security squabbles. Thereafter, the United States would agree to be a partner in a new European defense alliance but limited to direct financial or military assistance only if a member nation suffers a direct invasion or attack by China or other non-European countries.

The nations of Western and Central Europe would, thus, have to form a new alliance among themselves to deal with Russian and European security matters, leaving America to focus on its ever-growing financial and domestic problems as well as the global threat of Communist China.

Due to China’s population, ideology, implacable nationalism, economy, and renewed manifest destiny motivated by retribution for Western-imposed subservience in the 19th and early 20th centuries, China is potentially the greatest external threat to the United States in its history.

The one-sided dependent relationship with Europe must end. The war in Ukraine and the words and actions of Zelensky, as endorsed by the European ruling class, has underscored the economic and geopolitical necessity of leaving Europe to essentially fend for itself.

Democrats Want Trump and Musk Dead (and You Too)

It’s odd watching Democrats take sides against the United States, isn’t it? Publicly, I mean. They always had sympathy for our enemies when they were old fashioned communists, mostly out of jealously, but now it’s pretty much anyone, no matter their motivation. If someone is or can be portrayed as anti-Trump, no matter who they are, the left in this country will embrace them like they’re the cure for whatever disease they have.

Unfortunately for us, the disease they have is being leftists, and everything they embrace or surround themselves with only serves to reinforce that infection. There’s a reason they purge their lives of friends and family members who aren’t obedient to left-wing dictates – they don’t have the mental or emotional ability to handle disagreement anymore, their lives are strictly reinforcement.

This may be great for bilking money from suckers – people who believe the world is teetering on the edge of destruction – but it’s not great for people who simply wish to be left alone to live their lives as they see fit. You know, normal Americans.

The left is made up of semi-normal people, though they have a weird concept of what this country is supposed to be – the Constitution isn’t that long, nor is it complicated, but they just can’t get its ideals through their thick skulls.

It’s also made up of people with social anxiety disorders and all manner of mental issues for which there has been treatment for decades, but Democrats have made socially unacceptable to even discuss anymore. That’s changing, thankfully, but the left is fighting it and slowing sanity’s pace.

That means there are a lot of off-balance people out there who are highly suggestive. If people would cheer someone for murdering a CEO in cold blood because they’ve successfully propagandized an industry, or inspired the attempted mass murder of Republicans because they’re successfully propagandized a piece of legislation, what wouldn’t they do to get their way?

To listen to Democrats talk, Donald Trump is the root of all evil. Elon Musk is his flying monkey carrying out his destructive will. And you are the rubes who empowered them to destroy the country while ripping off even more money. It’s beyond stupid, but you’re not dealing with intelligent or mentally healthy people.

You’d have to have an IQ lower than your shoe size to believe these men who have more money than they could ever spend would anything, let alone life in prison, for a little more. Worthless Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy claimed Sunday that Trump was sidling up to Russia because “it makes it a lot easier for Donald Trump, Elon, and their billionaire pals to steal from the American people, to steal our data, to steal our Medicare, to steal our Medicaid in order to enrich themselves.”

As proof, he offered nothing. To challenge his assertion, CNN’s Dana Bash let it slide, ignoring the statement completely because “journalism.” She’ll win awards.

But if any unstable Democrats out there watching believe it, which they do, what do you suspect their reaction would be? A re-doubling of efforts to win the mid-terms next year? No. It is to take them out. A lot of people out there, isolated and obsessed with their progressive politics, see things like that as their chance to be a hero, to make a difference.

Murphy knows this, Democrats know this. They know they’re lying, but the truth does them no favors – the truth that they benefit from the hundreds of billions in waste, fraud and abuse in our government (government unions and left-wing grant recipients drastically favor Democrats with donations, so every dollar sent out returns a couple of quarters to them). They can’t have that gravy train derailed, or even thought about by their dupes.

They must lie, and since they’ve been lying for a very long time, the lies have to keep getting bigger to get the same result.

They don’t care if it inspires someone to take a shot at the President or Musk. Hell, they’ve already inspired 2 people to try to kill Trump, which led to a bunch of their team publicly lamenting that they’d failed, they’re hoping the third time is the charm.

Since the Secret Service is unlikely to be incompetently (deliberately) run, Trump is now a harder target. That leaves Elon. He has tight security, but anyone who’s ever worked in the protection business will tell you there isn’t much you can do to stop someone who is absolutely committed to destruction.

Still, not easy to get near Elon.

That leaves you. Frustration can only simmer for so long before it boils. Average Americans who won’t obey are next in line as targets for the left. You did this to them, they think, and you’re empowering billionaires to rip them off and harm people. How do you think that will sit with an unstable person, especially when continually reinforced by every Democrat, in and out of the media?

Be careful out there. Rather than make an argument, Democrats have chosen a course of action that will make you and the country less safe. Hopefully nothing happens before the President and Musk’s actions bear fruit, but don’t count on it. Democrats are pushing hard because, if they can’t prevent success from happening, they’ll be left naked and exposed. It will ruin them. They will do absolutely anything to prevent that from happening.

Shock, Rattle, and Awe

Every Republican president starts with distinct disadvantages. He inherits a largely disloyal and subversive federal bureaucracy, can expect nothing but hostile media coverage, and will be forced to battle for every inch against partisan judges who despise him.

Considering how long the Left has owned the culture and America’s educational system, these power centers are strong. Republicans in the past addressed this problem with the failed strategy of attempting to play nice with serpents. It was akin to kissing a rattlesnake, and didn’t end well.

President Trump understands that the only way to succeed with so many power centers aligned against him is to attack everywhere in a political shock-and-awe campaign. That’s exactly what he and his superb team are doing, which has led to the most successful first month by a Republican president in the modern era.

It’s military strategy 101. Colonel John Warden, an air power theorist, argued that every military enemy has five centers of gravity, which he showed as rings. It is critical to attack each of them. We saw this play out in Desert Storm in 1990 and the shock and awe campaign used against Iraq in 2003. You attack along so many fronts that the enemy can’t process the information to respond.

You get inside what one theorist, John Boyd, called the enemies’ OODA loop (Observation, Orientation, Decision, Action). Actions require a process that involves observing, orienting, deciding, and finally acting. A shock-and-awe campaign disrupts these steps repeatedly. While the enemy orients toward one action, another attack disrupts and resets that process. Targets are under attack everywhere, preventing the enemy from being able to move to the action phase to defend any of the targets effectively.

For Democrats, it doesn’t help that they loaded the battlefield with so many obvious targets due to their obscene and anti-American policies. They are like the dog in the cartoon movie Up, seeing squirrels everywhere. The minute they take three steps toward one, President Trump throws another ball out, and their heads snap in a new direction. They don’t even get the weekends to catch their breath.

Consider some of what President Trump has already accomplished. He has made real cuts to the federal bureaucracy, something that seemed impossible before 2025. He’s secured the border, defended women, removed murderers and rapists from the country, attacked the corrosive merit-destroying horror of DEI, restored justice to political victims targeted by the previous administration, pushed for improving educational quality, unleashed the economic power of energy, and protected American industries, among many first-month highlights. He is standing for liberty, justice, and Americans with every action.

There was a popular Army commercial that excited potential recruits by promising they would do more before 9 a.m. than most people do all day. That has been the zeitgeist of this administration, and their enemies are getting left in the dust.

Speaking of recruiting ads, that recruiting challenge everyone was so worried about for the last few years sure disappeared in a hurry. Recruits are lining up to join a military that focuses on unity and warfighting as opposed to celebrating differences and elevating mental disorders.

Elon Musk made an interesting comment that captured part of the challenge to the administration’s opponents when he noted that “DOGE is working 120 hours a week. Our bureaucratic opponents optimistically work 40 hours a week. That is why they are losing so fast.”

That’s shock and awe. This administration was ready to go on day one, and moved out at a furious pace never seen before. This was necessary. It was the only way they had any chance of advancing American interests without opposition bringing them to a screeching halt.

It gets harder from here. The administration’s opponents are adapting, so it is critical to both identify and attack their resistance centers of gravity nonstop. I’d prioritize those centers of gravity as the federal bureaucracy, the judiciary, the media, academia, and popular culture.

Federal Bureaucracy.  The federal bureaucracy is almost universally Democrat. The behemoth believes it exists to loyally support any Democrat directive while resisting Republicans. America has no choice but to cut an entity many times larger than we can afford, even apart from ideological considerations, but cutting the government has the added benefit of sending a strong signal that subversion and resistance to the will of the public won’t be tolerated. Agencies that exist for no other purpose than to throttle freedom and advance leftist causes should be shuttered. Targeting USAID was a great start, and Betsy DeVos is absolutely right that the Department of Education needs to go.

This bureaucratic war is just starting. We have over 2000 agencies, which sounds like about 1800 too many. You can’t have a truly free society when the bureaucratic state has so many tentacles that you can’t even find them all.

Judiciary. The administration will be forced to battle judges nonstop. There have already been hundreds of lawsuits against the administration. That number will grow into the thousands since lawfare is the Left’s primary strategy when their positions are so wildly unpopular. The courts are loaded with sympathetic judges, and the rodents of the Left will scuttle to them.

The good news is that the government has a big advantage here. The government can use these court battles to draw money and focus from their opponents. The government has whatever resources it needs to fight legal challenges. Their opponents do not. Democrats use that as a force of evil. The administration should and likely will appeal every one of these politicized decisions and use the process to punish and drain their foes. The Republican Congress needs to pitch in and impeach some of the most obviously leftist judges who are not following the law. If nothing else, it will expose the efforts of these judges to the broader public.

Media. As far as the media goes, the administration is making all the right moves by elevating new voices and marginalizing discredited outlets. They are attacking media’s sense of prestige and entitlement. The president picked plenty of people who are uniquely talented at fighting in this arena. They need to continue to ensure the media understands there are consequences for lies and bad behavior, such as costly lawsuits or being removed from coveted press pools. The fact that some of the savvier media owners are reorienting their outlets shows a recognition that the playing field has changed.

Academia. There is plenty that the administration can and will do to keep freedom-hating universities on the defensive, such as taxing their endowments, suing to defend students, and offering alternatives to wise Americans that don’t include going into massive debt for useless degrees.

Culture. No Republican president has understood Andrew Breitbart’s observation that politics is downstream of culture more than Donald Trump. He connects with young people and has leveraged cultural forces like Elon Musk and Joe Rogan. The progress in this battle has infuriated the Democrats the most since they view culture as their birthright.

Even as opposition hardens, the administration will continue its campaign to shock, rattle, and awe with missiles aimed right at the left’s resistance centers of gravity. What makes that so glorious is that the focus is on advancing three core principles we haven’t seen in a long time; freedom, our national interests, and a healthy dose of hope.

The Theme for Trump's Address to Congress Tonight Is Perfect, But Libs Will Hate It

Matt Vespa reporting for Townhall

President Donald J. Trump plans to address a joint session of Congress, which will likely send Democrats and the liberal media into a tailspin. Yet, with no Joy Reid and other marquee liberal clowns on-air anymore, it might be more muted. I'm not saying it was any better, but the Richter scale tomorrow night could be five or lower, more akin to the biased coverage of old in the Bush years. It is what it is—and for all the liberal bellyaching over the 2024 election, Trump is back and stronger than ever. That’s a hollowing out of epic proportions if you’re a liberal, whose coping mechanism is to double down on the most insane niche issues, but I digress.

As liberals wallow through a second Trump presidency, we know the theme for tomorrow night, and it’s a good one (via Fox News):

The "Renewal of the American Dream" is the theme of President Donald Trump’s first address of his second term to a joint session of Congress, Fox News Digital has learned.

White House officials exclusively told Fox News Digital that the speech, themed "The Renewal of the American Dream," will feature four main sections: accomplishments from Trump's second term thus far at home and abroad; what the Trump administration has done for the economy; the president's renewed push for Congress to pass additional funding for border security; and the president's plans for peace around the globe.

Trump’s joint address "will be must-see TV," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital.

"President Trump has accomplished more in one month than any president in four years — and the renewal of the American Dream is well underway," Leavitt told Fox News Digital. "In his Joint Address to Congress, President Trump will celebrate his extraordinarily successful first month in office while outlining his bold, ambitious and common-sense vision for the future."

After four years of economic torpor and failure under Joe Biden, it will be refreshing to see a plan of action that isn’t covered in crap. Of course, he go-to reaction will likely be the price of eggs not going down, which is due to Biden culling over 100 million chickens before he left office.

There’s lots to fix and the Democrats’ impatience and concern trolling over the price of goods is beyond transparent. Prices aren’t going to go down after a month. Everyone knew this but Democrats who are afraid that the economic climate of the first Trump presidency pre-pandemic will arrive during the midterm cycle.

Still Trying to Figure Out Why They Lost, Dems Hold Retreat—and Come Up With More Bad Ideas

Becky Noble reporting for RedState

It has been a long few months for the Democrat party. They continue to reel from the clubbing they took in November, yet don't appear to have learned anything from it. But in a surprise move, at least a few Dems decided a bit of reflection and introspection might be needed. Could they have finally decided to do a bit of self-analysis? Maybe, but that hard look inward is only good if you are sincere about it and truly want a change. It's that sincerity that might be hard for Democrats to pull off.

Last month, Democrats attended what was billed as a "Comeback Retreat." It was held by a group called Third Way, which is also billed as center-left. The goal of the getaway:

"...to deliberate on why Democrats are struggling with working-class voters around cultural issues, the nature of the economic trust gap with this critical group and ideas for how to address both problems."

A few of the main points of the gathering: determine why Democrats have a "cultural disconnect" with working-class voters, and why they are not trusted with the economy. One of the results of the meeting was that the folks at Third Way see what the American people see, a party described as having a "faculty lounge problem" of being far too judgmental and far too obligated to the radical far-left wing of the party. Documents detailing discussions from the retreat said of the perceived elitism of the party and that they are being led by radicals:

"Democrats are often viewed as judgmental, out-of-touch, and dismissive of those without elite education or progressive views. This makes the party seem disconnected from everyday people. Activist groups and progressive staffers push unpopular cultural positions, making it seem like Democrats are more extreme than they actually are. Operatives and campaigns must remember that activist groups exist to promote their single issue and raise money around it, not to make Democrats electable."

Third Way is right. These are serious problems for the Democrat party. But the treatment may be worse than the illness. What was Third Way's solution? Continue gaslighting the American people, but in a different way.

"...embrace patriotism, community, and traditional American imagery," "ban far-left candidate questionnaires and refuse to participate in forums that create ideological purity tests" and "reconnect with values like hard work, rugged individualism, and entrepreneurialism."

So, after years of screeching that America is an inherently racist awful place, Democrats should now somehow "embrace" patriotism? After years of supporting programs like Guaranteed Basic Incomes, Democrats are now all for "hard work, rugged individualism, and entrepreneurialism?" No word on whether another brilliant idea from Third Way was for all of them to stand in front of the Statue of Liberty and sing the national anthem (without kneeling). It would be equally believable. If you just want to be seen as embracing patriotism, it means all you are interested in is winning, not actual patriotism. Still more bad advice: Third Way also suggested that Democrats just not talk about immigration, but if they do, use poll-tested terms like "tough," "fair," and "practical" when speaking to centrist voters. They did not even address the economic chaos caused by mass illegal immigration.

Reeling From Trump Victory, Democrats Struggle to Find a Leader or Purpose

Granted, Democrats are not going to ask Republicans for help, but the leaders of this "center-left" group are not doing them any favors either. Jim Kessler once worked for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rachel Pritzker, of yes, that Pritzker family. Groups like Third Way can hold all the retreats, webinars, and struggle sessions they want, but they are not addressing the real problem. Kessler, Pritzker, et al. could have saved a ton of money if they had just told Democrats to pack up a van and head out across America to talk to real Americans and ask them what they think. Sometimes a simple road trip will solve a lot of problems.

In another indication that Third Way is not helping Democrats, a spokesman for the group said, "Fortunately, Democrats have a deep bench of talented leaders to get that message out to voters." Not that they would take it, but my own bit of advice to Democrats: you really should just get out more.

We Didn't Think Eric Swalwell Could Be Any Grosser, but He Just Proved Us Wrong

Susie Moore reporting for RedState

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) isn't necessarily known for his intellect or his manners. Not only was he hornswoggled by a putative Chinese spy (Fang Fang) a decade ago (and subsequently denied a spot on the House Intelligence Committee), but there was the unfortunate incident involving an apparent flatulence mishap while giving an on-camera interview.

Then, just a week ago, Swalwell reportedly was overheard blabbing loudly at a D.C. steakhouse over dinner with lobbyists about cheating on his wife, Capitol Hill orgies, and wanting to subpoena Ivanka Trump to testify (while he still held his spot on the Intel Committee) because she was "[censored] hot."

New Information Indicates Democrat Eric Swalwell Is Lying About Breaking Off Ties With His Chinese Honeytrap

Drunken LOOSE LIPS: Eric Swalwell Discusses Capitol Hill Sex Parties, Ivanka Trump's Looks During Lobbyist Dinner

So, it's hard to imagine him sinking much lower, but somehow, he managed to while discussing the war in Ukraine on CNN Monday.

SWALWELL: If you look around the world, our biggest economic enemy is China, our biggest geopolitical enemy is Russia. In a matter of three years, without losing a single U.S. soldier, we have decimated their military and their economy. It's been the greatest return on investment for any military expenditure ever, and as far as the return on investment for soldiers' lives, it's infinity, because you can't divide zero.

Okay — this is an argument we've seen bandied about, and there's at least some logic to the idea that Russia is being depleted without the sacrifice of U.S. troops. That, of course, doesn't really answer how we identify the endgame — i.e., what level of investment (in terms of U.S. tax dollars and/or equipment) will be required in order to accomplish...whatever it is we're aiming to ultimately accomplish.

But the utter indifference to the lives being lost by Russian and Ukrainian soldiers (and citizens) while we attempt to bleed the Russians dry is...well, that's about as ghoulish and soulless as one can get. Bonchie pretty well nails it here:

Eric Swalwell repeatedly reveals himself to us, and it's never a pretty picture.

So Democrats, What Would You Say You Do Here?

In the spirit of accountability and ‘Office Space’s’ Two Bobs, let’s take a look at five things the left accomplished last week.

Who knew asking government employees to tell us what they’ve done over the last week would be so triggering?

Poor MT Snyder, National Labor Relations Board staffer and federal union organizer. She told CNN that she felt “absolutely infuriated” after she and her fellow federal workers received an email from the Office of Personnel Management asking them to provide five examples of what they accomplished on the job last week? How dare the agency and Elon Musk and DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) ask such an unfair question of federal workers with premium club member job security.

“I felt absolutely infuriated getting an email with a demand within 48 hours to provide a response on what I did within the last week or face termination,” Ms. Snyder indignantly said.

While two days to jot down five things seems like a burdensome ask to longtime tax dollar feeders like Snyder, plenty of fed-up Americans in the private sector have gotten a kick out of the Bobs from “Office Space” treatment of entitled public-sector employees — now showing their government privilege.

Sorry, Snyder. The days of safe spaces from long overdue questions such as, “What would you say you do here?” are over.

So, in the spirit of accountability, let’s take a look at five things the left accomplished last week.

Saluting Zelensky

Democrats gave themselves a bad case of carpal tunnel waving their blue and yellow flags for their favorite autocrat, the insufferable Volodymyr Zelensky. After President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance gave the ungrateful grifter a reality check Friday in a heated Oval Office meeting, liberal war mongers rushed to comfort the Ukrainian president, renew their vows to Ukraine’s forever war, and show their disdain for peace through their raging hatred for Trump.

Corrupt Ukraine and its comedian president have canceled elections, opposition parties, religious freedom, and news organizations not approved by the state in the name of saving “democracy” in the Ukraine. No wonder U.S. Dems are so simpatico. They’ve been trying to cancel, jail, and kill their No. 1 political enemy for the better part of a decade — in the name of saving democracy. And like Zelensky, they’ve charged the American taxpayer to do it.

Being Their Best Hypocrite

The same people who have marketed the Marxist concept of “white privilege” wept and whined about potentially losing their White House privileges. The White House Correspondents’ Association declared that a new policy giving the White House final say on which reporters have limited space access to President Trump is an assault on democracy.

The editors of The Associated Press, Bloomberg News and Reuters, the “three permanent wires in the White House press pool,” issued a haughty statement declaring that it is “essential in a democracy for the public to have access to news about their government from an independent, free press.”

“An independent, free press?” What a joke. As my Federalist colleague Elle Purnell detailed in a column last week, “The corporate press and their representatives who run the WHCA haven’t actually been concerned about the integrity of the fourth estate for some time.” From the Russia collusion hoax to their breathless defense of Covid authoritarianism and their appalling cover for the previous Democrat dementia patient in the Oval Office, the accomplice media have proved dutiful mouthpieces for the left. But as they say in the legal system, the WHCA has no standing on the subject of “independent” journalism.

Marginalizing Mom

Gov. Tony Evers, D-Wis., is pushing a budget item that would replace “mother” with the term “inseminated person” in Wisconsin law. The far-left executive wants to do away with “father,” too, in the section on in vitro fertilization.

Evers got all huffy about the heat he’s been taking for his latest political identity war on words, defending his jettisoning of mom for the “inseminated” as a needed legal clarification.

“What the Republicans say is a lie, so of course, I’m pretty [pissed off] about that,” he said. Evers, the arguably whitest and wimpiest man in America, blustered a couple days after the story broke. “It gives people using IVF legal certainty. That’s it … moms are moms. Dads are dads. What we want is legal certainty.”

Wisconsinites weren’t buying what Evers was selling. The virtue-signaling Democrat has wrapped himself in the Pride flag and done the bidding of the DEI cult every day of his painfully long six years in office. Evers’ latest gender neutral language proposal redefining mothers as “inseminated persons” reads like the pages of The Handmaid’s Tale.

What if Michael Moore had been Deported or Aborted?

Michael Moore has never met a buffet or a liberal binge he didn’t like. The roly-poly, right-hating documentarian wrote a lengthy blog post insisting that the Trump administration making good on the president’s campaign pledge to deport illegal aliens could cost America the next Steve Jobs or the astrophysicist that figures out how to keep an asteroid from annihilating the earth.

“Who’s really being removed by ICE tonight?” Moore asked. “The child who would’ve discovered the cure for cancer in 2046? The 9th grade nerd who would’ve stopped that asteroid (sic) that’s gonna hit us in 2032? Do we care?”

Of course, Marxist Moore failed to note the tens of millions of pre-born human beings aborted over the run of Roe v. Wade — and beyond. How many exceptional minds from those ranks could have discovered the cure for cancer, saved us from a devastating pandemic manufactured in a lab in China, stopped Hunter Biden from picking up that first crack pipe or pardonable offense, or convinced abortion-on-demand liberals that the wholesale slaughter of the unborn is an immorally bad idea?

Save the Date

Congressional Dems capped off the week by sending out invitations to some of the aforementioned disgruntled federal workers cut loose under the government right-sizing plan. Acting on their maxim to never let a political stunt go to waste, the liberal lawmakers want to take sympathetic bureaucrats like MT Snyder as their dates to Trump’s address Tuesday to a joint session of Congress.

Look for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. to interrupt the president’s speech and demand Trump say the names of the entitled federal workers he’s shown the door.
