America’s Last Chance

One of my coworkers asked me if I would still have voted for President Trump if I had thought it could cost my job. My answer surprised her.

What a difference a few months make.  This time last year, we were hurtling toward societal collapse.  The government's growth rate and requisite spending had hit such obscene levels that the question of whether we, like Wile E. Coyote, had raced over the edge of a cliff was no longer theoretical.

Four years of Kamala Harris as president without an injection of some corrective mechanism first would have imploded America like the Death Star.  Frankly, the path the Biden puppet masters put us on was so cataclysmically destructive that recovery is still no sure thing.

The math remains ugly.  The key statistic is that around 40% of every tax dollar taken goes toward paying interest on the national debt.  That number would have been mere child’s play to a Democrat administration.  Forty percent?  We can do better than that.  Push the throttle to Ludicrous Speed.  We’re going where nobody has gone before.  Nothing short of 100 percent is acceptable.

It always comes down to the math, and math doesn’t lie.  It’s brutally honest for anyone wise enough to pay attention.

This is the defining national security issue of our time.  Building a strong military doesn’t matter when your biggest rival, China, will never have to face it.  All the Chinese need to do is wait until we collapse from within.  This is why the work of President Trump and DOGE is essential.  This is our last chance.  Elon Musk gets that.  At President Trump’s first Cabinet meeting, he pointed out what should be painfully obvious to everyone: we cannot sustain $2-trillion deficits.  That’s a mathematical certainty even a first-grader should be able to see.

Our only chance is to cut government down to what is necessary, just as our founding fathers envisioned.  We don’t have the luxury of nonsensical spending.  The administration should repeat this ad nauseam, explaining the math, until the broader public understands.  Far too few people still comprehend the scope of the problem.

Any political party that does not acknowledge the basic math is unserious and should not be trusted anywhere near the levers of power.  Considering that Democrats have positioned themselves as the party of government, they are incapable of solving a problem they won’t even acknowledge exists.  They don’t want to solve it because they’ve benefited handsomely from the arrangement, in wealth and power.

For the typical Democrat, it’s a simple equation.  Democrat government bureaucracy plus NGOs equals massive graft with a side of political power.  Two billion dollars to an NGO linked to Stacey Abrams?  Sure, why the heck not?  It’s not as though the taxpayers deserve their money.

Lee Zeldin, auditioning for understatement of the year, noted, “It’s extremely concerning that an organization that reported just $100 in revenue in 2023, was chosen to receive $2 billion. That’s 20 million times the organization’s reported revenue.”  Concerning?  That’s one way to put it.

Then again, money funneled through NGOs to enrich politicians and their supporters is perhaps preferable to taxpayer dollars spent arming the world’s most evil regimes.  It should bring Americans great comfort knowing they are handing over their money to their bureaucratic betters who think spending a mere $310 million of it for a Palestinian cement factory is a grand idea.  Hmm.  I wonder what they will do with all that cement!

I have yet to hear a single Democrat publicly acknowledge that a debt problem even exists, let alone the existence-threatening depth of that problem, far deeper even than the baby-murdering Hamas tunnels they helped to fund.  The few who pay lip service to the problem ignore the spending side of the equation and want to raise taxes to infinity and beyond.  There aren’t enough taxes in the world to address a debt problem of well over $100K per American.  That’s not even working Americans.

In Job, the Bible describes a fearsome, untamable beast called Leviathan.  That is an apt metaphor for the blob of unelected bureaucrats, mostly loyal to the Democrats, who constitute the federal bureaucracy.

I’ve had the opportunity to observe the reaction to efforts to cut the federal Leviathan from inside the belly of that beast, and to say that people are in a state of shock is a mild understatement.  In a matter of days, President Trump has forever pierced government workers’ belief that they are untouchable.

Utah senator John Curtis recommended that we add a dose of compassion to the efforts.  I don’t disagree.  Some of the rhetoric around the cuts has been unfortunate and unhelpful.  Plenty of unproductive and subversive workers are losing their jobs, but a lot of good people are also caught in the crossfire.

Most Americans intuitively understand that these cuts must happen.  At the same time, many of them will be turned off by the appearance of a celebratory attitude toward it, which also takes the focus off the real villains in the story: the politicians who drove so much spending that these cuts are necessary.

For those who watched fellow Americans who lost their jobs gleefully told to learn to code, or to get a useless green job, or to enjoy unemployment unless you allow Sauron to jab you with immune system–crushing needles, a healthy dose of schadenfreude is understandable.

However, compassion is still central to the debate.  So let’s talk compassion.  At the end of the day, cutting government is about compassion, and not necessarily the kind Senator Curtis meant.  Securing the future of our kids and grandkids is a courageous act of kindness and compassion and returns hope to America.

We often hear appeals to compassion on the left, particularly in the immigration debate.  Unfettered and government-sanctioned illegal immigration brought many evils, one of the worst was the added strain it put on an already fiscally terminal patient, pushing that patient toward its final breaths.  That is not compassionate to anyone.

The great Mark Steyn once pointed out that there is nothing compassionate about societal collapse.  Real compassion involves making the tough decisions to safeguard the future of not just Americans, but people across the globe whose world will darken if the light from the shining city that Ronald Reagan envisioned goes out.

One of my coworkers asked me if I would still have voted for President Trump if I had thought it could cost my job.  She was surprised by my answer, but it was not a particularly hard question.  Of course, because this is not about any individual person.  It is about the future of our nation.  All Americans should be cheering on the efforts of President Trump, Elon Musk, and DOGE, because those efforts might just represent America’s last chance.

Zelenskyy doesn’t need more weapons. He needs a trip to Men’s Wearhouse

February 28th was shaping up to be such a great day for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: he was in Washington, D.C., set to meet with our 47th President Donald J. Trump…the sun was shining…pomp and circumstance filled the air in our nation’s capital.

On the Salem news program “THIS WEEK ON CAPITOL HILL with Tony Perkins,” U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson was enthusiastically outlining the broad outline of President Trump’s plan to sign a deal with Zelenskyy, which would cede fifty percent of Ukraine’s rare earth minerals to the United States…potentially generating billions of dollars in revenue to—in part—repay America for all the support given Ukraine in the war with Russia.

Apart from the spectacular “reverse foreign aid” that Trump’s plan would generate, Mike  Johnson was even more fired up about the outside-the-box-thinking that led to the potential rare earth minerals agreement in the first place. “It’s a fascinating concept which I spoke with President Trump about several times this week,” Johnson stated. “The idea would be not necessarily a guarantee of national security but if the mining of rare earth minerals gets under way, it would certainly prevent enemies like Russia from invading again if they knew they’d be hitting Americans.  It could be a win/win for both countries and I commend the President for thinking outside the box…he thinks from a businessman’s perspective and that’s a really refreshing change from how government is normally run.”

With all this as a backdrop, as with any foreign dignitary arriving at the White House President Trump was standing on the portico surrounded by Marines rigidly at attention. Up rolled the black SUV displaying the Ukrainian flag. The President stepped forward prepared to offer a warm handshake and out stepped Vololymyr Zelenskyy in (gasps) one of his stupid green t-shirts.

Historical side note: The White House and especially the Oval Office where Donald Trump operates are such cherished ground to most Americans that when Ronald Regan was our President he would not ever remove his suit jacket while sitting behind the Resolute Desk. Our current President displays the same reverence.

So now here comes Zelenskyy looking like a refugee from the mosh pit at a Lady Gaga concert, and Donald Trump couldn’t help himself, telling the Ukrainian, “You’re all dressed up today.” And turning to assembled reporters and dignitaries he guffawed: “He’s all dressed up today.”  One reporter shouted to Zelenskyy, “Why don’t you wear a suit? You’re at the highest level of this country’s office and you refuse to wear a suit? I just want to see…do you own a suit?” Another told him that “..a lot of Americans have a problem with you not respecting the dignity of this office.”  (Mind you, these reporters!)

Zelenskyy looked befuddled, and mumbled something about the next time he meets with Trump “I will wear a costume.” Trump could not contain his glee  but diplomatically offered that “I think he’s dressed beautifully.”

As we now know, things spiraled downhill from there…with Zelenskyy at one point lecturing Trump and Vice President JD Vance on the history of his war with Russia, and obliquely suggesting that Trump was aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin. To which Trump shot back: “I’m not aligned with Putin. I’m aligned with the United States of America…I want to get this war over.”

Legacy media reflexively pounced on Trump, instantly declaring that the White House meeting had “devolved into a shouting match” and berating our President and Vice President for standing up for America. The entire exchange was quickly distributed on video by the Associated Press which—ironically—is suing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Trump’s chief of staff Suzie Wyles for “barring” them from covering the White House because AP refuses to recognize the President renaming a major body of water as the Gulf of America.

Other Trump-bashing outlets comically stumbled over each other in a race to attack our President. On MSNBC, onetime RNC chairman Michael Steele was almost weepy after showing a video clip of Trump squaring off with his t-shirted guest. “That cesspool of stupid went on for 10 minutes,” Steele griped. “It is hard to overstate how much of an embarrassment this was for America on the world stage.”  Steele is filling the daypart formerly occupied by the now fired Joy Reid. Steele apparently is not reading the tea leaves which have  added his name to the MSNBC Lawrence O’Donnell Hall of Shame.

In their lust for any opportunity to tarnish Trump, CNN anchor Erin Burnett even scraped the bottom of the political barrel by letting Connecticut U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal on her program to castigate the President. Always sadly comical to be lectured by “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal, the weasel who first ran for the Senate as a “combat veteran in Viet Nam” but who –-after being elected—admitted that his Marine Corps assignments never took him beyond the Potomac River. Semper Lie.

All of this unfolded scant days before President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress this coming Tuesday evening. Gazing into my crystal ball, I predict this will afford the hapless Democrats another opportunity to break out their scarves and neckties in the bright blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag …thinking that will send some kind of visual protest message about Trump to TV viewers around the globe. Yawn.

Of course, politics and diplomacy are squishy, ever evolving entities so Volodymyr Zelenskyy may ultimately get another invitation to meet with Donald Trump. But if he does, my advice is Zelenskyy should ask his SUV driver to take a detour along the way to the Men’s Warehouse on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, D.C. and buy himself a respectable suit.

I just checked their website. They are featuring nice Joseph Abboud ones in Navy blue starting in boy’s size 20 for only $89.99. Yellow necktie extra.

Some Questions For Our Democrat Enemies

Let’s be honest; it is impossible to be friendly with the radical left. I’m not talking about the run-of-the-mill Democrats who vote that way because their grandparents and parents were Democrats; I’m talking about the hate-America left – the mutants burning American flags, throwing bricks at cops, and taking over college campuses calling for the extermination of Jews every time Israel retaliates after an attack from terrorist scum. You can’t be friendly with them as they are the enemy of everything good humans have created over the centuries.

Harsh, I know, but I didn’t bring us to this point, I’m simply noticing. I didn’t make lifelong friends turn rabid jackasses incapable of simply accepting that people have different opinions on different issues. They’re the ones demanding conformity – obedience to them, really – not the other way around. Trump Derangement Syndrome didn’t just rot their brains; it rewired their souls. They’d disown their own mother if they “thought wrong.” That’s a level of instability bordering on evil.

The reaction from the left to the Oval Office blow-up Friday shows we no longer share a desire for what is best for the country; they prefer “party über alles,” written partially in German because that’s where their heart is.

As we inch closer to civil war or a national divorce, I have questions for these people. First and foremost, which would they prefer?

These are people who cheer the assassination of a health insurance company CEO and openly lament the failed assassination attempts against President Trump, so you can’t tell me they aren’t violent people. They justified it to themselves the way the German people justified the way the Nazi government treated Jews – they had it coming for…fill in the blank.

But make no mistake, it is a short walk from “I can’t speak to you anymore because of your support of X” to “If you didn’t want to be arrested/beaten/executed, you shouldn’t have supported those bad people.” The “otherization” of half the country has begun; the only thing missing for the powder keg to blow is a spark, and the leadership on the left is playing with matches.

So, which do you want, a war or divorce? We don’t really want either. For all the talk about “Republicans don’t accept the results of elections, and that’s a threat to democracy,” it isn’t Republicans who refuse to use any President’s name. Donald Trump moved out of the White House in 2021 – just because he won’t say the magic words you command does not make him an election denier; his acknowledgment of “President Biden” means the exact opposite.

Weird how so many Democrats, who cheered the attempts to block the certification of the 2016 election, can’t bring themselves to call President Trump “President Trump,” isn’t it? Last term, they called him “45,” now it’s “47.” Is that election acceptance? Were there Republicans who didn’t acknowledge Joe Biden? I’ll save you the Google search; the answer is no.

These people are outraged over the concept of rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending. They scream about bureaucrats losing their jobs, but why? Are bureaucrats somehow sacrosanct? If someone is not good at their job or their job is unnecessary, should they not be let go? In the private sector, they would be, so why would it be any different in government?

Is it that government unions dump a fortune into electing Democrats, and fewer government union members means less money for Democrats? With this and the collapse of USAID and ending random government grants for “research” that serves no purpose other than to employ leftists seeking to justify progressive social policy, we are witnessing the wholesale dismantling of the largest money laundering scheme in history from taxpayers to the Left-Wing Industrial Complex.

No wonder they’re pissed off. They might have to work for a living.

With this latest blow-up over money to Ukraine and the desire to end the war and stop the killing, Democrats again have come to the side of continued bloodshed and blank checks as they can’t let go of their “If Trump is for it, we’re against it, no matter what ‘it’ is” philosophy.

I’m old enough to remember when the left opposed war, no matter what. Now, they oppose people trying to end them. I wonder how Democrats justify that to themselves?

They don’t really offer a coherent argument for supporting continued bloodshed in Ukraine. It’s trench warfare at this point – WWI with longer-range weapons that hit civilians but can’t move the lines. A stalemate that only leads to more death, never a resolution. Who can support that?

By the way, if Donald Trump is Putin’s pet, as is the mantra on the left, why can’t Putin win? If Russia had even the secret support of the United States, there would be nothing that could stop them from taking over this tiny, corrupt country. They can’t.

Wouldn’t it be better to stop the killing? It would have the added benefit of stopping the flow of billions as we rush toward bankruptcy. Are those good things?

No, because Trump is on the other side of them, period.

The endless string of lies and cheering for the death of Americans, Israelis, and people in Ukraine seems like an odd position for anyone to be in, yet that’s where the “progressive” left is.

Now that I look back on this, I don’t really have any questions for Democrats – questions imply there are rational answers or at least the prospect of an honest dialog on the subject at hand, and that is simply not possible with them anymore. It was never enjoyable, but it was possible. Not anymore.

They live in a different world where Israel is a problem, and Ukraine is the most important country on the planet (though, weirdly, their people can continue to be killed without end). The progressive machine snapped into action, dutifully taking sides against America, and people like Chris Murphy danced on the line of treason because that’s where Democrats live these days.

There are a lot of words that can describe that mentality, none of which is “friend.”

Elon Musk Demands Weekly Bullet Points from Federal Employees in Second Email

Sarah Arnold reporting for Townhall

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) recent actions continue to stir conversation, as the tech mogul has now made waves with a second email to federal employees, prompting them to account for their activities from the previous week. In addition to the request for a detailed report, the email introduces a new requirement, furthering Musk's push for more accountability and efficiency in the workplace.

Federal employees received a follow-up email on Friday titled "What did you do last week? Part II," requesting details about their recent work. Initially scheduled for Saturday, the email asks employees to outline five key weekly accomplishments. Reports indicate that the email will be due by 11:59 p.m. EST every Monday.

“Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets describing what you accomplished last week and cc your manager,” the email read, according to the Associated Press.

The email came from the domain“hr@opm.gov,” the same OPM address that sent the first email.

This follows a previous DOGE email that required federal workers to explain what they did at their jobs. The second email, however, differs from the first in that it specifically states not to send classified or sensitive information. Additionally, employees whose work is sensitive or classified were told to respond, "All of my activities are sensitive.”

Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly instructed DoD staff to respond to the email.

Is James Comey's Daughter Behind the FBI’s Delay in Releasing Epstein Files?

Sarah Arnold reporting for Townhall

James Comey, the former FBI director who famously chose not to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information and then became involved in the Russian hoax, is now under scrutiny once again. Reports suggest that his daughter may be a key factor in the decision to withhold certain files related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The long-sought files, which could shed light on Epstein's connections and criminal activities, were supposed to be released this week. However, the FBI withheld the majority of them to no avail. Critics argue that Comey’s ties and his daughter's role may have influenced the delay in releasing critical documents, which could impact ongoing investigations.

Maurene Comey previously worked as the lead prosecutor on both the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell cases. She also worked on the case involving former Epstein cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione.

Fox News anchor Jesse Watters suggested that Maurene Comey, an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, might have played a role in the FBI's failure to release the top-secret documents. According to Attorney General Pam Bondi, the FBI Field Office in Manhattan had never disclosed the existence of "thousands of documents” related to Epstein.

“Epstein was facing sex trafficking charges in lower Manhattan, where's all that paperwork?' Watters asked.

He also pointed to the FBI's seizure of banking records and files from several of Epstein's properties, the Department of Justice's controversial non-prosecution agreement in 2008, and the Bureau of Prisons' files regarding Epstein’s time at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.

During his campaign, President Donald Trump repeatedly promised to release classified documents related to Epstein. Essentially, the FBI knew that the day would come when they would be forced to sever ties with those files.

“'Is the bureau embarrassed that they let hundreds of young victims down?’ Watters asked. “Was he a double agent? He had dirt on everyone and a knack for making cash and he's dead. So the government has no one to protect but themselves.”

Bondi promised to release Epstein-related files on Thursday. However, she revealed that agents withheld some crucial records, including the client list. She said she had been informed that the documents were being kept at an FBI field office in New York.

The Trump Administration's Plan to Lower the Price of Eggs

Leah Barkoukis reporting for Townhall

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins laid out a five-point plan on Wednesday to “immediately” bring down the cost of eggs, which have skyrocketed amid ongoing outbreaks of the avian flu.

Since January 2021, the average price of a dozen eggs has gone up 237 percent as supplies have dwindled due to the mass culling of laying hens.

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Rollins said USDA will devote up to $500 million to help poultry producers implement biosecurity measures.

USDA has developed a successful pilot program, called Wildlife Biosecurity Assessments, to identify and implement more safety measures. Between January 2023 and January 2025, about 150 sites have undergone assessments, and producers have addressed the risks that USDA inspectors identified. Only one of these sites has subsequently been affected by avian flu. USDA will now provide this consulting service at no cost to all commercial egg-laying chicken farms. We will also pay up to 75% of the cost to repair biosecurity vulnerabilities. (WSJ)

Secondly, up to $400 million will go toward providing financial relief to farmers whose flocks have been hit by the avian flu, assisting them in restarting operations as quickly and safely possible.

Third, USDA is committed to spending up to $100 million for research and development on vaccines and therapeutics for hens.

USDA hasn’t yet authorized the use of a vaccine. Before making a determination, USDA will consult state leaders, poultry and dairy farmers, and public-health professionals. We will also work with our trading partners to minimize potential negative trade effects for U.S. producers and to assess public-health concerns. (WSJ)

Fourth, to immediately address rising costs, the administration will “remove unnecessary regulatory burdens on egg producers where possible.” Collins specifically pointed to California’s Prop 12, which mandates certain space requirements for egg-laying hens. Additionally, she said USDA wants to make it easier for families to raise backyard flocks.

Last, USDA is considering importing eggs temporarily to reduce costs in the short term, though only if the products meet U.S. safety standards. Collins emphasized they giving careful consideration to whether such a move would jeopardize American farmers’ access to markets down the road.

"This five-point strategy won’t erase the problem overnight, but we’re confident that it will restore stability to the egg market over the next three to six months," Rollins said. "This approach will also ensure stability over the next four years and beyond. American farmers need relief, and American consumers need affordable food. To every family struggling to buy eggs: We hear you, we’re fighting for you, and help is on the way."

The secretary said the agency is working with the Department of Government Efficiency to identify wasteful spending and some of the savings will be repurposed for these long-term solutions to addressing the avian flu.

Zelensky Goes on a Tweet Storm, and It's Likely Going to Make Things Much Worse

Friday was one of the wildest days yet of President Donald Trump's second term, and things aren't slowing down. If you missed the fireworks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky set off an argument in the Oval Office when he interjected during a presser to publicly interrogate Vice President JD Vance while making clear he has no intention of negotiating a ceasefire.

SEE: Zelensky Attempts Oval Office Grandstanding, Finds Out Trump and Vance Don't Play That Game

While that was the point where things truly touched off, the wider context was over 40 minutes of the Ukrainian president being antagonistic and dismissive of American concerns. As I wrote in my reaction piece, I have no idea what Zelensky was thinking with his approach. It's not controversial to suggest he lacks the leverage to make such a play, especially in a way that could be perceived as trying to use the press to bully the president. At the very least, disagreements on the use of diplomacy should be left behind closed doors.

After the meeting ended, Trump flew to Florida while Zelensky headed to London, leaving no clear path toward reigniting talks with the White House. The Ukrainian president did release a series of posts on social media about the situation. Unfortunately, I'm not sure they are going to help matters.

He opened by thanking the American people for their support but then seemed to contradict himself multiple times while still demanding more from the Trump administration.

ZELENSKY: America’s help has been vital in helping us survive, and I want to acknowledge that. Despite the tough dialogue, we remain strategic partners. But we need to be honest and direct with each other to truly understand our shared goals.

It’s crucial for us to have President Trump’s support. He wants to end the war, but no one wants peace more than we do. We are the ones living this war in Ukraine. It’s a fight for our freedom, for our very survival.

As President Reagan once said, ‘Peace is not just the absence of war’. We’re talking about just and lasting peace – freedom, justice, and human rights for everyone. A ceasefire won’t work with Putin. He has broken ceasefires 25 times over the last 10 years. A real peace is the only solution.

If the goal is to bring everyone back to the table, this is going to have the opposite effect. I'm going to let Zelensky in on a little secret: Trump is far more malleable than either his critics or greatest admirers will ever admit. In almost any situation, all he's looking for is someone who is willing to talk.

Take the mineral rights deal as an example. What started as a fairly good deal for the United States was watered down into a highly favorable agreement for Ukraine over the last week, and Trump was still willing to sign it and smile for the cameras. The same is true of ceasefire negotiations.

What blew up the meeting in the Oval Office wasn't so much any personal sleight, though that was the juicy part for the media. It was that Zelensky undermined Trump by publicly denouncing any possibility of a ceasefire. Again, all the president wants is to get to the table. Disagreements about the details can be hashed out when the time comes, and Ukraine would maintain the ability to reject any deal it didn't like.

That's what makes Zelensky's ploy so counterproductive. What does "real peace" even mean if he's going to say a ceasefire is off the table? That's nonsensical on its face, as no one can articulate a path to total victory for Ukraine given its manpower issues (which can not be solved with more money). At some point, there has to be a negotiated peace, and Russian President Vladimir Putin is not stepping down anytime soon.

ZELENSKY: We are ready to sign the minerals agreement, and it will be the first step toward security guarantees. But it’s not enough, and we need more than just that. A ceasefire without security guarantees is dangerous for Ukraine. We’ve been fighting for three years, and Ukrainian people need to know that America is on our side.

I cannot change Ukraine’s position on Russia. The Russians are killing us. Russia is the enemy, and that’s the reality we face. Ukraine wants peace, but it must be a just and lasting peace. For that, we need to be strong at the negotiation table. Peace can only come when we know we have security guarantees, when our army is strong, and our partners are with us.

We want peace. That’s why I came to the United States, and visited President Trump. The deal on minerals is just a first step toward security guarantees and getting closer to peace. Our situation is tough, but we can’t just stop fighting and not having guarantees that Putin will not return tomorrow.

Again, this is so counterproductive. Ukraine is not in a position to make public demands like this. Whether you agree or disagree with Trump, he does not see great strategic importance for the United States in this war. He does not believe Russia will roll through NATO-backed Europe and across the Atlantic. Because of that, continuing to try to play hardball with him is a losing strategy.

"Security guarantees" appears to be a euphemism for NATO membership or some other involvement of American troops in the war to combat Russian aggression. I understand why Zelensky would want that, given the dire straits his country is in, but that is not going to happen. Continuing to use the public sphere as a place to make such demands of Trump is only going to push the American president further away.

ZELENSKY: Europe is ready for contingencies and to help fund our large army. We also need the US role in defining security guarantees –what kind, what volume, and when. Once these guarantees are in place, we can talk with Russia, Europe, and the US about diplomacy. War alone is too long, and we don’t have enough weapons to push them out entirely.

Is Europe ready? Because right now, it is spending more on Russian oil and natural gas than it is on financial aid to Ukraine. European leaders are great at tweeting. They are much worse at leading. Regardless, America does not owe Ukraine security guarantees, as in active military involvement (which is clearly what Zelensky is asking for).

ZELENSKY: I want the US to stand more firmly on our side. This is not just a war between our two countries; Russia brought this war onto our territory and into our homes. They are wrong because they disrespected our territorial integrity.

All Ukrainians want to hear a strong US position on our side. It’s understandable the US might look for dialogue with Putin. But the US has always spoken about ‘peace through strength’. And together we can take strong steps against Putin.

Our relationship with the American president is more than just two leaders; it’s a historic and solid bond between our peoples. That’s why I always begin with words of gratitude from our nation to the American nation.

American people helped save our people. Humans and human rights come first. We’re truly thankful. We want only strong relations with America, and I really hope we will have them.

The suggestion that the US hasn't stood firmly enough on Ukraine's side, even after giving somewhere in the range of $200 billion in aid while also enacting sanctions on Russia, is not going to be a good thing for relations with the White House. In short, Zelensky needs to stop talking because Trump does not respond to public pressure like this. On the contrary, it causes him to recoil, and like it or not, America doesn't have another presidential election for almost four years.

Ukraine needs a new diplomatic strategy, and it needs it in a hurry. Joe Biden is not around anymore, and Zelensky needs to accept that if he is to garner anything positive for his country. Tweet storms just reiterating his demands aren't going to accomplish anything.

February Border Numbers Are In – And They’re Looking Strong

Sarah Arnold reporting for Townhall

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released their southern border encounter numbers for the month of February, which shows that President Donald Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown is working.

On Saturday, Trump took his Truth Social account to announce that his first full month in office saw the lowest number of illegal immigrants enter the United States in recent history. According to the latest CBP report, there were only 8,326 apprehensions of illegal aliens by Border Patrol agents at the U.S.-Mexico border. The president stated that even despite trying to enter the country, they were quickly rejected entry into the U.S.’s interior. Some were even prosecuted for crimes against the nation.

Trump pointed out that under former President Joe Biden, 300,000 illegal immigrants were crossing into the United States in the matter of just one month— with nearly all of them being allowed to enter the U.S.

Last week, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that CBP encountered only 200 illegal aliens at the U.S. Southern border— the lowest number of apprehensions in a single day in over 15 years.

“President Trump and Secretary Noem have sent a clear message to illegal aliens: do not come to our country. You will not be allowed in. And if you get in, we will hunt you down and deport you,” a statement from a senior DHS spokesperson said. “That message has been received. This weekend, we saw the single lowest apprehensions at the southern border in more than 15 years. This is yet another sign that President Trump’s commonsense immigration and border security policies are working.”

Europe is Falling & Needs War with Russia – Martin Armstrong

Legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong is back with a new warning about war coming to Europe.  You may have seen the heated exchange between President Trump and President Zelensky of Ukraine on Friday.  If not, you should.  Some of the Trump highlights are:  “President Zelensky is not ready for peace. . . (Zelensky is) gambling with WWIII, and You either make a deal or we are out.”  It looks like Zelensky intentionally started a fight with Trump in the White House.  It also looks like every country in Europe is backing more war in Ukraine. And now, there is renewed talk of an EU army.  Armstrong says, “Why?  Because they all are facing the collapse of the European Union.  The debt is just unbelievable.  They never consolidated.  Between Covid, Climate Change and sanctions on Russia, the German economy has shrunk . . . 3% to 5%.  The economic growth (of the EU) is appalling.  Europe is falling, and this is why they need war.  So, they are backing Zelensky.”

In a new report released yesterday, Armstrong lays out the case why war in Europe is coming and coming soon.  Armstrong points out, “In this report, I gathered a bunch of headlines:  London Financial Times, what’s the headline?  ‘America is Now the Enemy of the West.’ This is why Trump is saying ‘We are out.’  Zelensky has admitted that 58% of the $350 billion the US gave him is missing.  You cut the funding, and you are going to find out the truth.  Trump should cut every single penny.  Bring it all out.  Zelensky is counting on Europe to replace the United States.  This is why he’s so arrogant. . . . Trump should get the hell out of NATO–ASAP.”

So, why are all these reports coming out in the last few months about gold coming to America from Europe?  Armstrong says, “Last week, I was on the phone, and I can’t tell you how much, but when you are about to go into war, capital moves. . . . Right now, I am concerned from about May 15th on. . . . Our computer (Socrates) says Europe is going into war, and I put it into this report, Europe will lose. . . . This is why the gold is coming to America.”

Armstrong also contends you can forget about predictions of the US dollar collapsing anytime soon—it won’t.  Armstrong says, “The Euro will become extinct.”

Armstrong also predicts, “I published what the computer “Socrates” put out on Ukraine.  It’s a flatline, and I have never seen that on any other country.  It’s a flatline.  It’s going dead.  That’s it.”

Did the election of President Trump stop a thermonuclear exchange with Russia?  Armstrong says, “Absolutely!  You had Dick Cheney endorsing Kamala. . . .  Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were on the J6 Committee.  Both of them are Neocons.  Adam Kinzinger said ‘We could defeat Russia in three days.’  They put out nothing but propaganda all the time.”
