Donald Trump, Matt Gaetz, and Caligula's Horse | Opinion

Donald Trump, Matt Gaetz, and Caligula's Horse | Opinion

President-elect Donald Trump's choice of Matt Gaetz for attorney general ranks next to the story of Roman Emperor Caligula deciding to nominate his horse, Incitatus, as a consul.

Members of the United States Senate should give this legend some thought. It doesn't work merely because Gaetz is profoundly unqualified for the job. The gesture attributed to Caligula didn't just suggest a prank. It was graphic way for Caligula to express his contempt for the Roman Senate. It was a way of proving that he could not merely bend the Senators to his will, but he could humiliate them as well.

So, will the United States Senate truckle for Trump? Senators should respect a president's discretion in choosing his cabinet members. But the president must also respect the advice and consent role the Senate plays in confirming those nominees. If the Senate accepts Gaetz, when can it ever say no to Trump?

The attorney general is the chief law enforcement figure in the land. In his hands rests the safety of the public, the civil rights of the oppressed, and the guarantee of democracy. He has the ear of the Supreme Court. He is an exemplar to lawyers, to judges, and the public.

Gaetz is a most unlikely exemplar. While he escaped federal prosecution for child sex trafficking, the House Ethics Committee was reportedly on the cusp of releasing a highly critical report about his sexual involvement with minors, his illegal drug use, his misuse of campaign funds, and his abuses of House privileges. Gaetz only escaped that judgment by abruptly resigning from the House.

Gaetz has very little legal experience and has never been a prosecutor. Merrick Garland, the current attorney general was a clerk at the United States Supreme Court, a respected federal prosecutor, and the chief judge of U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. His predecessor, William Barr actively practiced law, worked in the White House, was deputy attorney general, and, before Trump appointed him, he had served as attorney general under George H.W. Bush. His predecessor, Jeff Sessions was a federal prosecutor, the attorney general of Alabama and a United States senator. And, yes, even Bobby Kennedy had worked in the Justice Department and was assistant counsel to a Senate committee before he was appointed attorney general.

There is simply no precedent for this appointment. More worrying, it is the fulfillment of the worst fears of those who believed Trump was unfit to be president because of his lawlessness. Trump has made no secret of wanting slavish obedience from his appointees. He has made no secret of his desire to politicize the Justice Department. He bitterly remembers that when he demanded that the Justice Department support his lies about the 2020 election, it refused. When he engages in lawlessness during this term of office—and he will—he wants to be cheered on by the chief law enforcement officer of the land.

Remember, Trump will already have chilling, sweeping powers thanks to the Supreme Court decision granting presidents broad immunity from prosecution when they commit crimes in the form of their "official" acts. The court emphasized in particular that the president is absolutely immune from prosecution if he instructs the attorney general to investigate or prosecute innocent American citizens. A president with these powers needs an attorney general who will reign him in, not one who will take the bit between his teeth and indiscriminately trample the president's adversaries.

Trump wasn't elected to do this. The decisive swing in the presidential election likely reflected a vote against the Democrats—for high prices, high wokeness, and illegal immigration. It would be wrong to think that this critical group intended to endorse Trump's lawlessness. Some of them may have wanted disruption of the status quo. But destruction of our institutions? Trump shouldn't think those who gave him a majority voted for that.

Trump will deliver plenty of disruption to the federal government without Matt Gaetz bucking the rule of law at the Justice Department. The Senate shouldn't saddle us with him. It should give this latter-day Incitatus a full hearing. When it's over it should be abundantly clear that there will be only one just way to vote on the Justice Department.

Trump Right on Time

It is mind-boggling how incompetent U.S. companies have become.

Donald Trump’s arrival and his association with Messrs. Musk and Ramaswamy are just in time.  Within the space of 24 hours, we had interactions with three major U.S. companies that left us high and dry.  I will not name the specific companies, as I assume that their competitors are equally incompetent. The state of American business is horrific.

We’ll start with the bank. Our U.S. bank is one of the largest in the world.  We have debit cards from said bank, and when we are in the U.S. on holiday, we rely on those cards for all of our purchases.  So what happens when the cards begin to get declined?  One might get by with cash on hand or whip out an Israeli credit card and swallow the extra charges for the conversion of dollars to shekels.  But why were our cards getting declined?  The bank never reached out to us to say that there was a problem; rather, they simply shut off our cards and access to our checking accounts.  I guess that their theory is that when a client gets desperate enough, he or she will call the number on the back of the card in order to fix the problem.  So what was the problem?

It would appear that it started when I tried to redeem some points that had accrued for a gift card.  The primary cell number in our account is Israeli, and while the automatic system sends SMS messages to Israel, when you speak to back-office employees, they cannot.  So they could not send me an SMS in order to verify my identity.  Not to worry! They gave me a four-question multiple-choice test, supposedly based on public records.  The problem is that there are a lot of Alan Bauers in the world, and in the past they asked our son which car he owned when he had just had his bar mitzvah.  And they did it again, asking me which of four companies where I had worked when I knew none of them.  So I failed the exam and they locked my card—without telling me.  Not being able to use the card to buy gas or a Coke was the sign that I needed to get back in touch with my bank, with whom I speak more often than with my closest relatives.

In calling the bank, their voice-identification system apparently identified me as our son.  So they locked his card as well.  When I took him to a local branch with his debit card, Nevada driver’s license and U.S. passport, the local branch official called the back office to say that so-and-so has been identified and was sitting in the branch.  That was not enough.  It took a full hour after that to get the back office person to relent and release his card, after I produced a Consular Report of Birth Abroad showing that I am his father.  We apparently spend our vacations in various branches of our bank.

Next we move on to a major amusement park.  While some of the family was on their way there, I decided to buy them tickets in order to a) surprise them and b) get them into the park faster.  Well, did I fail.  When they arrived, they produced the tickets I forwarded to them.  But since I, the purchaser, was not named on the tickets, they refused to accept them.  My wife went toe-to-toe with their guy for a while.  Eventually, he canceled my order (I’m still waiting to see the money) and made her buy three new tickets with the same names on them.  Have they never heard of forwarding an email with an attachment?  Apparently not.

And now we move over to a car rental. It’s not one of the big ones, but rather a niche outfit with a more eclectic offering of cars. I just got out of a Cyber Truck and would be delighted to drive it forever. One of our boys made a 24-hour rental, and he went to add his brothers.  Because one of them recently updated his debit card details on the company website, he was removed by the company’s system from both renting cars and joining others on rentals.  Hours on the phone did nothing to help the situation.  Their representatives admitted that all was in order but their tech guys could not figure out how to fix the problem. Finally, after two days, he was reinstated to drive.

No person is perfect, and by extension, neither is any company.  But the lack of creative thinking, the inability to deal with anything slightly out of the ordinary or make a big effort for the customer is making it harder to do business in the U.S.  Our Israeli SIM cards generally do not work here, but all of our confirmation codes from Amazon, Apple, and others are sent to the numbers associated with those cards.  In Israel, the local rep for Apple will not honor warranties for phones or other devices bought outside of the country.  So while Apple is a transnational company, it is dependent on many local vendors for sales and service.  When Apple had a mandatory recall of iPhone 13 units, the Israeli lab would not take any device that was purchased in the U.S.  My sister-in-law had to fight tooth and nail to get service for a problem that Apple had created.

Honest competition is supposed to reward the effective companies that provide what consumers want, while putting out of business inefficient and lethargic competitors.  What I see more frequently is that clueless companies do just fine and the pressure of the market seems inert in punishing them for their incompetence, inefficiency, or ineptitude.  It was a shock—and it has happened twice—to sit in a bank branch and have someone on the phone say that we don’t know who you are two minutes after an employee of the same bank had positively identified the person based on government identity cards and proper PIN and passed along her conclusions to her colleague on the same phone.  They claim to want to protect our money, but they live in a box and don’t know how to deal with someone traveling who does not have access to his primary cellphone number.

I hope that in the second era of Trump, U.S. companies will become more nimble and consumer-friendly.  I would rather see the Rockies than spend another couple of hours in one more branch of our bank.

Let Me Count the Ways

On November 5, 2024, a gigantic red wave engulfed America, elevating everything politically red to great heights and largely obliterating everything politically blue in its path.

It’s been only a week since the presidential election, but let’s ask the following questions anyway:

WHAT DID RED GAIN?

  • The White House — Oval Office.
  • The U.S. Senate.
  • The U.S. House of Representatives.
  • The Electoral College.
  • The popular vote.
  • All seven swing states.
  • State governor majority.
  • State Legislature majority.
  • The stock market hit record highs.

And Pamela Geller reports:

Additionally:

The Fed cut interest rates a quarter of a point after Trump’s election victory.

China’s President Xi Jinping congratulated Donald Trump on his U.S. presidential win and urged both nations to find the “right way to get along,” as looming U.S. tariffs threatened to return, as they did years ago.

Following Trump’s victory, NYC’s mayor announced he’s ending food vouchers for illegals.

And let me not omit that even before he takes the oath on January 20, 2025, President Trump is already supporting the military that he loves and respects— a great thing, given the 249th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps.

WHAT DID BLUE GAIN?

The blue gains were all acquired before November 5, 2024, with Democrats — speaking in one voice — saying that their goal was to defeat Donald Trump in order to “save Democracy.”

To the eternal condemnation of the teachers’ unions in our country, all of these Democrats — no doubt “educated” in America’s leftist school systems — were ignorant of the fact that we do not live in a democracy.  We live in a republic.  Republics are run on law and order.

Democracies, on the other hand, are run by mob rule.  That is why, during the two-plus years of the thugs and criminals from Antifa and Black Lives Matter rampaging through our country, smashing windows, lighting cars on fire, destroying businesses, putting dozens of people into intensive care units, and racking up a death toll into the dozens, there was not a word of condemnation from any Democrat.

And when countless thieves, rapists, even murderers were caught and brought to police precincts, they walked!  No charges, no bail, no indictments.  No condemnation from any Democrat.

Why?  Because the democracy they were so interested in saving was run by, yep, mob rule!  In fact, it was revealed by Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit that just the other day, the mob-rule Biden-Harris regime met with Pentagon brass to discuss and plan how to override President Trump’s 47 orders.

“This smells like treason,” Hoft wrote, while citing a CNN report that stated, “The military-industrial complex is infuriated that the first president in 40 years who did not start a war while in office has returned to power.”

DECONTAMINATION

Lucky Americans!  In addition to the aforementioned RED gains, every American benefits from the decontamination process that President Trump’s election brought about.

Hallelujah!  We no longer have to abide the leftist drivel doled out, in all their conceit — this is the very short list — by the likes of Robert De Niro, Laurene Powell Jobs, the vile View harridans, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, George Clooney and his wench, John Legend, Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Bette Midler, who said she wanted to drink Drano because Trump won.

Good luck to them all as they hopefully fulfill their promises to leave America.

The Biggest Blunder in the History of American Politics

The biggest blunder in the history of American politics was the premeditated, unabashed, and overt theft of the 2020 presidential election by the Democrat Party, the legacy media, and their fellow left-wing elitists in the Ruling Class as that alliance failed to create an unquestioned landslide defeat of Donald Trump and were thus, forced into the impossible task of placating the extreme left-wing faction of the coalition. This blunder set the stage for the 2024 Trump landslide and hastened the demise of the Democrat Party and the legacy media.

This cabal further compounded the original blunder of overtly stealing the 2020 election and being compelled into an alliance with the radical Left by adopting unprecedented lawfare against Donald Trump, insisting that an obviously addled Joe Biden be the Democrat nominee, ousting Biden four months before the election, and choreographing the nomination of the unlikeable and vacuous Kamala Harris.

This myopic and oblivious faction of the Ruling Class grossly underestimated and misunderstood the depth and breadth of support for Donald Trump in 2020. Despite their legal and illegal efforts to manipulate the voting process, they would fall monumentally short of the anticipated landslide defeat of the incumbent. A landslide they needed in order to permanently ostracize Trump, dominate the political arena for the foreseeable future, and avoid any backlash for their duplicity.

Thanks to the manufactured Covid pandemonium, these conspirators smugly believed that by exponentially expanding and manipulating mail-in and absentee voting they had successfully set up a foolproof means of guaranteeing Donald Trump would be defeated in such a massive landslide that a vast majority of the citizenry would never question the results.

Further, Trump would be so marginalized that his future as the leader of a growing political movement would be permanently rendered moot as he slunk, tail between his legs, back to Mar-A-Lago. Thus, leaving the political playing field in the hands of the established ruling class in near perpetuity.

Instead, the worst-case scenario played out. While this cabal did succeed in creating a massive 7 million popular vote margin for Joe Biden, thanks entirely to mail-in ballots in California and New York, the election was decided in three battleground states, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Arizona. Biden won the three states by 40,000 out of 15,000,000 legally or illegally cast votes (a margin of 0.0027%). The resultant focus on and the exposure of the machinations in those states created a scenario wherein it became impossible for the stench of fraud to be swept under the rug, causing nearly half of the citizenry to view the Biden Administration as illegitimate.

In a poll taken two weeks after the election, nearly half of all likely votersbelieved there was sufficient fraud in the election to ensure Biden won. Despite the best efforts of both the social and legacy media as well as the Democrat Party hierarchy, that perception never changed during the four years of the Biden presidency.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been viewed by a significant plurality of Americans as transparent frauds and imposters thanks to an unabashedly fraudulent election choreographed by the Ruling Class. The remaining balance of the electorate adopted a wait-and-see attitude toward the Biden Administration.

Almost immediately the radical base of the Democrat Party rightfully claimed that it was their grassroots efforts and participation in the voting manipulation that pushed the Biden/Harris ticket over the top.

Had there been the landslide all had anticipated and planned for, then the extreme Left would have had no choice but to be satisfied with the crumbs from the head table as their role in the election fraud would have been downplayed. Instead, the failure of the grand plan and the need for their participation in future elections to offset the alienation of nearly half of the electorate gave the Marxist-inspired faction of the cabal the upper hand in the Biden Administration.

Thus, the Ruling Class was essentially blackmailed into acquiescing to the promotion of issues such as uncontrolled and open borders, transgenderism, mandated DEI throughout the government and much of the private sector, unconstrained spending on a “Green New Deal,” innumerable new regulations and mandates hamstringing the economy, and censorship as well as the abrogation of rights as delineated in the Constitution.

The resultant inflation, economic stagnation, invasion by 14+ million illegal immigrants, and unchecked crime on the streets of America’s cities and towns impacted virtually all sectors of the population.

The only accomplishments emanating from the 2020 grand strategy were 1) alienating nearly half of the electorate, 2) causing the American citizenry untold misery and suffering, and 3) opening the door for a Donald Trump resurgence.

A determined and resolute Donald Trump declared his candidacy on November 15, 2022. In their panic this faction of the Ruling Class unleashed unprecedented lawfare against Trump certain that their strategy would result in a resounding defeat of Trump in the 2024 election, thus finally achieving their goal of ridding themselves of their loathsome nemesis.

However, thanks to the alienation of nearly half of the electorate, the failures of their compelled alliance with the radical Left, and Trump’s resolve and campaign strategy by the early summer of 2024, that tactic would be reduced to a smoldering heap of ashes and Trump would be well on his way to an inevitable victory on November 5, 2024.

In the history of the United States there has never been a more inept, duplicitous, or ludicrous Ruling Class than the current iteration in its pursuit of Donald Trump.

This pursuit has not only permanently alienated nearly half of the voting citizenry, but it has also fractured the old Democrat Party coalition of the working class and ethnic and racial minorities. The Democrat Party is now the party of the Ruling Class and the self-styled elites. It is a party together with the legacy media on a path to irrelevance and demise.

Americans should not, therefore, acquiesce to calls for “unity” and forgiveness with those who over the past four years have vilified, imprisoned, censored, impoverished, and marginalized over half of the populace in pursuit of permanent power, wealth, and status. The left-wing element of the Ruling Class must be replaced, the worst of them prosecuted, and their power base within the federal government destroyed in order to ensure that this nation never travels down this road again.

Trump, RFK, and the Autism Dilemma

Kennedy and the president-elect are asking why more kids like mine are disabled by autism. They have the power to find real answers—and it’s not due to vaccines.

Whatever you may think of Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., let’s give them credit for being essentially the only politicians to invoke an alarming and shadowy topic few want to acknowledge: the crisis of America’s rising rates of autism.

And with the news that Kennedy is going to be Trump’s nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services, there will be an opportunity for them to act upon their concern. But the peril is that, given Trump and Kennedy’s history of blaming vaccines, they might continue down this discredited path.

The once-rare diagnosis of autism now consumes the lives of ever-growing numbers of U.S. families—including mine. But autism has become so mired in controversy that wary politicians tend to look away. When comedian Dave Smith recently asked this unfunny question about Trump and Kennedy—“Why are they the only ones who are talking about this?”—his remarks on Instagram were viewed 3.7 million times.

This crisis urgently needs to be addressed, not just because children with autism and their families need research, hope, and help but because all of society is affected by a growing cohort of young adults who will require lifetime care. The numbers are astonishing and irrefutable.

An autism diagnosis was extremely rare in the 1960s to early 1980s, in the range of 0.01 to 0.05 percent of all children. Then, in the early 1990s, clinics and schools began to notice an inexplicable surge of cases. A 1996 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention surveillance conducted in response to national concerns found a prevalence of 0.42 percent of 8-year-old children in the Atlanta area. Starting in 2000, the CDC undertook rigorous multisite studies using consistent methodology. It first found that 0.67 percent of 8-year-olds had autism, followed by steady increases thereafter: 1.13 percent in 2008, 1.85 percent in 2016, and 2.76 percent in 2020.

The latest U.S. federal agency surveys now identify more than 3 percent of children ages 3 to 17 as having autism—at least a 60-fold increase from 50 years ago. And some studies report even higher rates: For example 4.6 percent of 4-year-olds in San Diego County in 2020.

No matter the magnitude of each successive increase, the media often issues the reassurance that the rise is not real, but a function of more recognition and of broader definitions of the condition. But Kennedy, who is 70 years old, made a salient observation last year in an interview: “I have never in my life seen a man my age with full-blown autism, not once. Where are these men?”

The truth is, not a single study has identified them in any appreciable numbers. For example, the California Department of Developmental Services, well-known for its robust data on the more disabling forms of autism, counts a mere 60 cases of autism in residents born in 1954—Kennedy’s birth year. Compare that to 5,163 cases identified in kids born in 2010. It’s important to note that this system has not expanded its eligibility criteria and, in fact, enacted more stringent requirements in 2003. It has seen its overall autism caseload soar from about 3,200 in 1989 to about 190,000 today.

What I appreciate about Trump and Kennedy is their public insistence that indeed there is something to see here, something real, something deserving of our utmost concern.

I know, because I have two profoundly autistic children who are now young adults. My daughter Sophie is 18 and lives with my husband and me. Our son Jonathan, 25, lives a few minutes away and is aided by us and paid staff. They cannot talk, read, write, or follow even simple directions, like how to draw a smiley face, change their clothes, prepare food, or use a television.

Autism is on a spectrum, and I accept that some highly verbal but socially awkward children who might have been called “quirky” in another era may be diagnosed as autistic today. But there also is no question that the population of substantially disabled children like mine, children whose problems could not have been overlooked by families and schools, has been surging. Even when one restricts autism to its most stringent definition, called profound autism, with IQs under 50 and minimal language, one still sees prevalence nearly doubling from 0.27 to 0.46 percent of 8-year-olds in the U.S. between just 2000 and 2016, according to a CDC study

While RFK Jr. and Trump are right to say unraveling the causes of autism should be a public health priority for a second Trump administration, they are deeply wrong to invoke the discredited idea that childhood vaccines could be a culprit. As explained by Dr. Richard Besser, the former acting director of the CDC, the specter of reduced vaccination rates would pose an intolerable risk to public health, especially the health of children. It would also do nothing—nothing—to reduce the incidence of autism.

How do we know vaccines cannot be causing the autism increase? Let me count the ways:

  • We know that a hallmark of autism is dysregulation of brain development starting in the prenatal period. Childhood immunizations simply cannot explain what goes wrong during gestation.
  • There is not a single ingredient in vaccines that can cause childhood brain development to go awry, and no animal study shows links between vaccines and the abnormal brain development seen in autism.
  • There is no plausible reason vaccines could explain autism’s strong heritability (e.g., sharply increased incidence among siblings), or its strong male-to-female ratio of about 4 to 1.
  • The vaccine schedule cannot possibly explain the steadily accelerating rates over time.
  • And most importantly, every epidemiological study on the topic has confirmed zero association between vaccination status and the development of autism.

Two months ago, Trump pledged to establish a panel of experts who will work with RFK Jr. “to investigate what is causing the decades-long increase in chronic health problems and childhood diseases, including autoimmune disorders, autism, obesity, infertility, and many more.”

If this effort takes shape, they should listen to devoted and meticulous scientists like Rutgers University’s Walter Zahorodny, who can share his quarter-century of experience tracking autism’s ascendance using consistent diagnostic criteria. He observes that he has met no one in the clinical field or education system “who doubts this is a true increase.” At the same time, they must listen to experts like Dr. Paul Offit, who can dispel any lingering impulse to blame vaccines.

The Trump team would also do well to undo the complacent approach of the Biden administration. Instead of pushing for vigorous inquiry into causes and possible prevention of autism, the current administration let itself become part of an identitarian movement that celebrates autism. The federal Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee often acted as Orwellian language police, downplaying the disabling aspects of autism and the very desperate needs of families. The National Institutes of Health even proposed to remove “reducing disability” from its mission statement, expressing concerns about “ableism.”

President Joe Biden himself overrode the traditional “Autism Awareness Day” to proclaim it as “World Autism Acceptance Day,” with the Department of Health and Human Services declaring all of April as “Autism Acceptance Month.” This resulted in a stream of federal messaging romanticizing this often horrifically debilitating disorder, one that is projected to soon burden the country with $1 trillion a year in expenses.

But the last thing we need in addressing the national emergency of autism is more nonsense about vaccines or heavy metals—another RFK Jr. discredited favorite. And we certainly don’t need more duplicative federal efforts that fail to advance our understanding of autism.

Instead, the next administration should stick to facts and logic, while taking well-informed risks on neglected avenues for research. For example, I have long advocated for research on new concepts about autism’s origins. This relates to how toxic exposures impact not the fetus, but the parents’ germ cells—that is, their eggs, sperm, and precursor cells. There is vast scientific territory open for exploration here.

Let’s dive in. Let’s solve this. Let’s, yes, Make America Healthy Again. RFK Jr. and Trump are right to shine a spotlight. Three decades is far too long to go without answers.

J6er Jon Mellis Rearrested in What He Says is Continued ‘Lawfare’ Against Him

Jon Mellis on November 2, 2024. 1:00 a.m. Outside Williamsburg James City County Police Station. Turning himself in for a violation stemming from J6. Facing 10 years in prison.

I am a Proud Boy. I am incarcerated for another birthday. I turn 38 on November 12, 2024. This birthday behind bars is a total surprise because I was released from federal prison over a month ago for my J6 case.

Virginia has now decided to lock me up for a “probation violation,” triggered by my J6 case, for an old state charge I received in 2008, even though I was released from Virginia probation in 2019. I will explain this legal situation in a bit. But first, I’d like to go over what I have endured so far because of my J6 persecution and how I have handled it. I also want to go over what I’ve been up to during my month of freedom before being placed in jail right before Election Day.

I was arrested for my J6 case on February 16, 2021. I was sentenced to 51 months in prison for attempting to save Rosanne Boyland from being trampled and beaten by police on January 6. Over a dozen of us protesters tried to save her life, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of us was sent to prison for it.

Help Jon at JusticeforJ6Jonny.com

Rosanne died right there in front of us. She died on the Inaugural Stage as protesters screamed for help but were beaten and maced by police. I was sent to the DC jail early on and was placed in a pod dedicated to housing only J6ers. We call it the Patriot Pod. We spent the first year in solitary confinement (23 or 22 hours a day in our cell alone), we were denied any sort of visitation for 2 years, and we dealt with abusive guards and disgusting jail conditions. I still wonder how we made it through these bad years. Despite these terrible times we still sang the Star Spangled Banner every night together. Our brotherhood was being forged in fire.

I used my time to reach out to the media and try to shine a light on our plight as J6 prisoners and to try to raise awareness of the murder of Rosanne Boyland on January 6. I was fortunate to come into contact with Jim Hoft and The Gateway Pundit readers. With the approval of Jim I began harvesting testimonials from my J6 brothers in order for them to get their voices heard and to thankfully help them raise money to support their crumbling lives as they sat in jail.

This had a huge impact on morale in the Patriot Pod. (View our testimonials at We Are Good Men) These good men were now able to breathe, knowing that their families would be provided for. Mortgages, car payments, school lunches for their kids, etc. My life goal has always been to be of service to others. It was the greatest gift for me to be able to see the look on my J6 brothers’ faces change just a little as their worst fears for their families were at least delayed.

God bless Jim Hoft, and God bless The Gateway Pundit readers for saving our lives.

Our collective actions inside that J6 Patriot Pod, with the help of great people on the outside to shine a light on the DC jail, started having an impact after about 2 years.

After there was a surprise inspection by the US Marshals and the jail lost its contract to hold federal inmates, we started seeing real improvement in our living conditions. The jail was able to salvage its federal contract only after losing half (about 200) federal inmates. The jail gets paid per federal inmate per day so that hurts their pocket for sure.

The jail got funding to upgrade its plumbing due to the brown water rampant across the facility, ended our solitary confinement, and almost totally did away with the physical abuse from the guards. I say “almost did away with the abuse” because that would continue to be a problem with specific officers. But life in the DC jail started to improve from the rotten torture chamber it was. Access to tablets for all inmates and, finally, visitation was granted to us after 2 years.

We were even given jail-issued laptops to view our legal discovery. These laptops were highly restricted, so we could only plug in our flash drive from our lawyer to view our case, but the jail forgot to disable the camera on them. So, for the benefit of posterity and for the world to see our great J6 Patriots for themselves, Edward Badalian and I produced a video podcast from inside the Patriot Pod, “We Are Good Men.”

These interviews give the American people great insight into the life stories of these amazing Patriots being persecuted by their own government. At the depths of our despair, you can see the strength and faith these men hold dear to their hearts. The mainstream media has lied about these men, and our interviews expose the truth. We are good men.

The greatest honor of my life has been to suffer alongside the strongest men I’ve ever met. Men like Reed Christensen, Matthew Krol, and my Proud Boy brothers Enrique Tarrio, Ethan Nordean, Joe Biggs, Zach Rehl, and Dominic Pezzola.

There are so many other men to mention here, but I focus on these men because they represent the clearest glaring example of how government tyranny and media lies can ruin good men’s lives. We Proud Boys are the greatest fraternity in the world. Patriotism and brotherhood. To think that Proud Boys would be traitors, which is what the Biden Regime accused our chairman of, is absolutely ridiculous. There is not a traitorous bone in Enrique’s body. He was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison, and he wasn’t even in DC on January 6. How crazy is that?

Ethan Nordean is truly a good man. He is one of the funniest dudes I’ve ever met. A total goofball who loves his country. But he was sentenced to 18 years for seditious conspiracy. It’s total bullshit. I can assure you that these five Proud Boys who went on trial for seditious conspiracy are TRULY INNOCENT. It breaks my heart to see them carry that label.

I was released from federal prison on September 30, 2024. I hit the ground running with speaking engagements and election volunteering. I spoke at many conservative clubs around the region every week, waking our Republican voters up to the issue of political persecution going on in our own country. From John Birch Society, to Conservative Breakfast Clubs, God and Country Club, to the College Republicans Club at the local university.

My hour-long speech plus question-answer segment shocked audiences into righteous indignation. I believe it was helping keep our Conservative countrymen motivated through the election season. I was invited to speak on many podcasts and radio programs. I also spent time volunteering at polling locations. Meeting great people on their way to vote or just coming out of the voting booth was a pleasure I will continue in future elections. The energy of people exercising their right to vote is infectious. A steady flow of patriotism all day. Who could ask for a better vantage point as a Patriot?

My month of freedom was very productive and full of new people and new places. I loved it. God blessed our country with the most amazing people and getting to meet them at that fast pace was truly an honor. It was fun. This electric time of freedom would soon come to an end for me in November, right before election day. From out of nowhere, the Virginia local police would decide to arrest me on an old charge from 2008 that I had already dealt with.

I WILL NOW EXPLAIN THE LAWFARE BEING USED AGAINST ME IN VIRGINIA.

In 2008, I was sentenced by Virginia to 20 years in prison with 10 suspended. It was my first felony. It was a drug charge.

I spent 10 years in Virginia prison, educating myself and turning my life around. I was released from prison in October 2017 and moved directly to Nashville, TN. I quickly became highly involved in the community, volunteer efforts, and charities. I was released from probation in April 2019 for good behavior. I was told my probation was over. I traveled the country and built a good life. As a service industry worker (bartender/server) I was saving my money to eventually attend school to further my education.

I went to a rally in DC on January 6, 2021. For attempting to save Rosanne Boyland from being killed by police, I was incarcerated, spent a year in solitary confinement, denied visitation for 2 years, dealt with abusive guards and gross jail conditions, and was ultimately sentenced to 51 months in Federal prison. I was just released on September 30, 2024.

On November 1, 2024, at 1 a.m., my house was raided by the Virginia local police. I was not there, but my friend was. He was alerted by the security cameras and saw a group of people trying to break into the house. He went out to confront these intruders with a gun in hand. Luckily he realized they were cops before it got nasty. Apparently, there was a warrant for my arrest. I may have been released from probation YEARS ago, but I’m on “lifelong good behavior” by Virginia.

I STILL have 10 years in prison hanging over my head. This is a big surprise to me. I turned myself in to the police on November 2, 2024, at 1 a.m. The Williamsburg, VA Circuit Court Judge has set this matter to be resolved on January 27, 2025. I can receive up to 10 years in prison. Hopefully, the Pardon from President Trump will come sooner so this case will be thrown out.

This is my situation.
