A 'New Path' to the Presidency for Harris?

The word 'preposterous' seems like it was created to describe Kamala Harris. Her run in the 2020 Democrat primary was preposterous. Being chosen as Biden's running mate was preposterous. Her tenure as VP with the relentless word salads and the consistent incompetence was preposterous. Her becoming the nominee of the Democrat party despite not having a single primary vote was preposterous. Her campaign for the presidency was preposterous.

You may have assumed that the end of her ill-fated campaign would be the end of this absurdity, but you are wrong.

Yesterday on one of CNN's Sunday Morning news shows, a Democrat contributor, Jamal Simmons, said that she still has a path to the presidency. For a change, the man wasn't talking about an effort to subvert the historic mandate received by President Trump last week.

Instead, Simmons was looking to Joe Biden, whom he called a phenomenal President, to fulfill his promise of being 'a transitional figure.' Simmons was the Communication Director for Vice President Kamala Harris from January 2022 to January 5, 2023. So he does hold some responsibility for the word salads. Simmons suggested that Biden still has a chance to create history and lead the way to the first female president of color.

How did he propose this be done? He suggested that Biden resign.

He said it would also prevent Kamala from suffering the ignominy of certifying an election where she suffered a humiliating defeat. The idea was so ridiculous that members of the echo chamber i.e. co-panelists and the host of the segment broke into titters.

This idea, which was floated in jest on social media, was now being presented on a 'news' program where contributors are supposed to present insight. No wonder the media is losing credibility.

Simmons claimed the move would relieve the next woman who runs from the “historical weight of being the first” female president. Simmons also claimed that Kamala being president would disrupt some of Trump’s merchandise, which read “45-47” since Trump was the 45th President and will be 47th President.

Simmons also claimed that Harris becoming President “would make sure that it would dominate the news, at a point where Democrats have to learn drama and transparency and doing things the public will wanna see.”

So what do we make of this preposterous notion?

This once again proves that the Democrats still don't and probably never will understand the needs of citizens. Perhaps they do understand their shortcomings but are never going to concede their failures in public.

Instead of accepting that his party supports the wrong policies that led to chaos and instability and that remedial work is essential, Simmons seems to blame the voters, implying that it wasn't the issues but the drama that led to Trump's landslide victory. By being focused on Trump's merchandise, Simmons proved how petty and desperate the Democrats have become.

What Simmons doesn't seem to comprehend is that even if Biden were to step aside from the presidency and make Kamala the president for a few weeks, it would be an insult to her.

Since the Democrats are obsessed with identity politics, it would also be an insult to her gender and race.

It would imply that no woman of color can ever win the Presidency via merit, hence there is no option but to subvert meritocracy.

It would also be an insult to the voters who rejected Harris.

But then Harris has never earned the important posts she held.

Her precipitous rise up the political hierarchy from San Francisco to California and eventually to D.C. in Congress was largely due to her having friends in high places.

It must also be remembered that in very liberal California from where Kamala secured electoral victories, Democrats don't have to strive to win, they just need a bit of backing from the establishment.

After being Senator for just under four years, Harris rose even higher.

Her performance in the 2020 Democrat primary was so poor that she had to quit before the elections began, she couldn't even win her home state.

Yet she was chosen as Joe Biden's running mate because her incompetence made Joe look like the brighter one.

There wasn't a proper Democrat primary in 2024, top Democrats were 'discouraged' from running. Those such as Robert Kennedy Jr. who declared their candidacies were blocked and sidelined. Biden won 15 million votes.

Despite the primary votes Biden was unceremoniously dethroned and Kamala was installed as the nominee.

Perhaps Harris may be in agreement with Simmons's preposterous suggestion.

If one keeps getting what one doesn't deserve, one assumes it to be the norm.

Don't be too surprised if the Democrats rationalize the idea of installing Kamala as President for a few weeks claiming be a slap in the face of the sexists, misogynists, and racists who rejected her at the polls.

Once upon a time Simmons's idea could have been ridiculed as an impossibility, but these times are different. We are living in times when a man who is non compos mentis remains President for four years. We are living in times when a woman was installed as a Democrat nominee without earning a single primary vote.

A woman who lost the elections by a landslide being installed as President for a few weeks isn't far-fetched anymore.

It would be a preposterous culmination of a preposterous presidency and era in America.

The Case for Mass Deportations

President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to "launch the largest deportation of criminals in American history." That is a quote from a Nov. 2 rally in Salem, Virginia, but Trump has said precisely the same thing dozens of times. Still, through the course of a long campaign, with his improvisational style, Trump has occasionally worded his pledge differently. For example, at his Madison Square Garden rally, Trump said, "On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out." Back on May 24, at his rally in the South Bronx, Trump pledged to "immediately begin the largest criminal deportation operation in our country's history." So variations in wording aside, when Trump talks about mass deportation, he is talking about the mass deportation of criminals.

It's hard to imagine opposing Trump's proposal. Who would want to help murderers and drug dealers who entered the country illegally remain in the United States? Yet we have seen much talk that Trump deportation plans go far, far beyond criminals and will ultimately lead to 10, 15 or perhaps even 20 million people being removed from the country. Part of this is media hysteria. But part of it comes from loose talk by Trump and his advisers.

But the Trump plan has been visible in plain sight for quite a while. First, the new administration will seek to quickly deport those illegal immigrants who are deemed national security threats. At the same time, it will pursue illegal immigrants with criminal records, either in the United States or some other country. And all the while it will assign priority to the illegal migrants whose cases have already been adjudicated and ordered removed.

"You concentrate on the public safety threats and the national security threats first because those are the worst of the worst," Tom Homan, recently named as Trump's "border czar," said over the weekend on Fox News. "So it's going to be the worst first. That's how it has to be done. We know a record number of people on the terrorist watch list have crossed this border. We know a record number of terrorists have been released in this country. We have already arrested some [who were] planning attacks. So look, the president is dead-on when he said criminal threats, national security threats are going to be prioritized. And that's the way it's going to be."

There is a clear guide for doing this. Last year, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement reported that as of September 30, 2023, there were 1,292,830 people in the United States illegally who have had full legal due process and have received a final deportation order from an immigration judge. In the ensuing year, there are estimates that number has grown to somewhere between 1.35 million and 1.6 million.

The vast majority of those people are not in detention. But they have had final orders of deportation, so they are subject to removal at any time. It's just that the Biden administration has not removed them.

Would Trump deportations go beyond that group of 1.35 million to 1.6 million already ordered removed? Remember that many more millions crossed illegally into the United States during the Biden years. What to do with them? The vast majority do not have valid claims of asylum or any legal right to remain in the United States.

In an ironic twist, it is possible that the second Trump administration will rely on a document known as the Mayorkas Memorandum to decide those cases. On Sept. 30, 2021, as the border incursion was moving into high gear, Biden Department of Homeland Security head Alejandro Mayorkas sent the administration's top immigration officials a set of guidelines for enforcing immigration law. In the memo, Mayorkas laid out rules for deporting illegal immigrants.

"We will prioritize for apprehension and removal noncitizens who are a threat to our national security, public safety, and border security," Mayorkas wrote. The first group was terrorists and spies. The second was criminals. And then there was the third group, the threats to border security. "A noncitizen who poses a threat to border security is a priority for apprehension and removal," Mayorkas wrote. "A noncitizen is a threat to border security if (a) they are apprehended at the border or port of entry while attempting to unlawfully enter the United States; or (b) they are apprehended in the United States after unlawfully entering after November 1, 2020."

If Trump were to apply the Nov. 1, 2020, standard -- the Mayorkas standard -- to removals, deporting those who had most recently crossed illegally into the U.S., he would have a basis to reverse a significant part of the Biden border rush.

If Trump actually does any of this -- that is, if he increases deportations with an emphasis on national security threats, criminal, and recent entrants -- it will have a powerful deterrent effect on people in foreign nations considering illegal entry into the United States. It will also likely motivate recent illegal arrivals into the U.S., the ones with the fewest connections to this country, to leave on their own.

Trump's actions, if he takes them, could certainly be characterized as "mass deportations," since they would involve the removal of perhaps one million people. It would certainly be "the largest deportation of criminals in American history." On one hand, it would not please the Trump supporters who want to deport every single person in the United States illegally; after all, every illegal border crosser has violated U.S. law by unlawfully entering the country. On the other hand, prioritized deportations would be a significant restoration of the rule of law as it applies to the U.S. border, and that would be a very good thing.

Libs Are Clinging to Two Conspiracy Theories About the 2024 Election, And They're Hilarious

I knew this would likely spread like a brushfire because liberals cannot believe they got bulldozed by Donald Trump and the Republicans on Election Day, but here we are—they’re clinging to hope that Kamala Harris will win. It’s funny how they’ve become the election deniers on steroids, though not entirely surprising. Liberals have an appalling entitlement when it comes to elections, feeling they should win everyone because they have better feelings on the issues or something. That’s how you get these hyper-emotional reactions, some of which border on mental illness.

The two main coping exercises are that Kamala will win because some magic mountain of votes will appear and flip some swing states. Not going to happen—if it did it would be because there was a massive voter fraud conspiracy. The second is that Elon Musk’s Starlink systems messed with ballots. They were part of Hurricane Helene disaster relief. These people are donning tin foil hats and doing hits of meth in between.

Please take a look, laugh, and not that it needs to be said, but you people lost

Dearborn Residents Show Remorse After Trump Win: 'He's Playing Us'

Dearborn Residents Show Remorse After Trump Win: 'He's Playing Us'

In the wake of Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election, residents of Dearborn, Michigan, are voicing their regret and frustration, with many expressing feelings of being misled.

Dearborn is home to one of the largest concentrations of Arab Americans in the nation, with nearly half of its 110,000 residents being of Arab descent. The city has traditionally been a Democratic stronghold, but this year that all changed.

Trump broke the GOP losing streak in the city, winning 47 percent of the vote to Kamala Harris' 28 percent, according to unofficial results from the city clerk, reported by NBC. That means Harris received less than half of the Dearborn voters Joe Biden received in 2020.

Meanwhile, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who chose a Muslim American running mate and put Israel's war with Hamas at the center of her campaign, won 22 percent of the vote, according to a projection from NBC.

After the shocking election result, Arab American voters are reeling. But they are also frustrated by the Democrats' unwavering support for Israel in the Gaza war.

Newsweek has contacted the Trump transition team and the Harris campaign for comment via email.

"All she had to do was stop the war in Lebanon and Gaza and she would receive everyone's votes here," Dearborn's Democratic mayor, Abdullah Hammoud, told the Associated Press.

"When I think of Democrats, I don't think of people like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris," Layla Elabed, a leader in Dearborn's anti-war movement and the sister of Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, told Slate. "You can't claim to represent the values of your base and then ignore them. You're not going to win—and that's exactly what happened."

In an interview with Politico, Michael Sareini, Dearborn city council president, added that many Arab American residents in Dearborn "feel like they've been redeemed."

"They wanted to send a message and they did. This stance on endless wars and killing of innocent women and children has got to end," he said.

The Biden-Harris administration has remained a staunch ally of Israel since the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas, which killed 1,200 Israelis and took over 200 hostages. Following the attack, Israel launched airstrikes on Gaza, which have killed more than 43,000 people. Since then, the U.S. has continued to send weapons to Israel—something that has greatly angered Arab Americans.

Additionally, Harris told CNN in an interview in August that she would not approach the Israel-Hamas war differently to her boss.

"Let me be very clear, I'm unequivocal and unwavering in my commitment to Israel's defense and its ability to defend itself, and that's not going to change," Harris said. She also refused to host a Palestinian American onstage at the Democratic National Convention.

"We were asking Democratic leadership to empower us," Abbas Alawieh, a Lebanese American from Dearborn, and one-time chief of staff to Rep. Cori Bush, said. "They flat-out said, 'No thanks. We're good without you.' I'd hoped that, whatever calculus they were making, there were some 101,000 Liz Cheney voters out there somewhere they were catering to. It turns out those voters don't exist," he added, referencing the daughter of former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney, who was the mastermind behind the war in Iraq. Liz Cheney endorsed Harris in this election.

But while Arab Americans are feeling anger at the Democrats, they are also not necessarily convinced by Trump.

"They didn't vote for Trump because they believe Trump is the best candidate," Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News, told Politico. "No, they voted for Trump because they want to punish the Democrats and Harris."

"It's clear as day that he's playing us," Alawieh added of Trump. "I think he's going to target us. That's what he's going to do. He's going to target our families, and it's going to hurt. So, I think we're about to find out."

Jim Acosta and Joy Reid Get Ratioed Into Next Week After Their Hot Takes on Hegseth Pick

The left is melting down over President-elect Donald Trump's choice of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense.

As I reported earlier, Sen. Elizabeth Warren attacked him as "unqualified," perhaps not even understanding he was a decorated veteran with a 20-year military background. But she claimed authority to say that since she "leads" a military personnel panel in the Senate and her brothers served. So you know the Democrats are going to try to fight Hegseth's approval. But Warren got buried by people in response on X.

Warren wasn't the only one losing her mind. Some in the defense world were upset and Scott Jennings took down the critics on CNN.

The 'Defense World' Freakout Over Pete Hegseth Is Epic, and It Tells Us Everything We Need to Know

Some of the unusual suspects in the media were also losing their minds. Here's Jim Acosta, rearing his ridiculous head again.

"In a sign he has been making his cabinet selections while watching TV, Trump picks Fox anchor Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense," Acosta tweeted.

So just like Warren, he isn't being honest/informative about Hegseth's actual background. Some "journalist" -- he can't even be bothered to do five minutes of research on Hegseth's background.

Fox's Janice Dean said somehow Acosta missed Hegseth's "three deployments including Iraq and Afghanistan with Two Bronze Stars in your smug little post." Fox contributor Ben Domenech noted Acosta's "experience" consisted of "his two Bronze stars for combat in the White House press room." Fox contributor Joe Concha laughed at him, speculating he might be out the door in the cuts coming to CNN, "You’ll never guess who will be one of the first to be let go when CNN does its massive cuts next month…"

MSNBC's Joy Reid's take was similarly ignorant, and she also got ratioed:

"The former and future president is moving quickly to fill out the clown car and round out his Cabinet," Reid huffed. "Before he changes his mind and fires them all. Moments ago, Trump announced he had picked Fox Weekend Morning show host Pete Hegseth to serve as Secretary of Defense. Because, why not?"

You could tell she was mad as heck as she tried to mock Trump and Hegseth. She obviously isn't absorbing the Democrats' crushing electoral defeat very well.

One of the most strident criticisms was from actor Michael Rapaport, who bashed her "fear-mongering."

#JoyReid is a con artist race hustler fake news complete bullshit artist. She’s reason 118 why Kamala lost, the fear mongering opinion media veiled as “NEWS”

Blame yourself JoylessJoy

Is it any wonder MSNBC and CNN are tanking when the people they have put out hot takes like Reid and Acosta? Reid's show was one of the ones that was down more than 50 percent post-election.

Maybe attacking a decorated veteran with 20 years in the military and a master's degree from Harvard, who headed up groups for veterans, isn't a great look? But folks like Jim Acosta and Joy Reid keep going down that same road and then wondering why no one trusts them, why they lose and why they are being rejected.

Meanwhile, what this says about Trump is that he's thinking proactively, unlike Democrats who only react and thus are constantly playing catchup. He's thinking about what SecDef should be focusing on -- the actual defense of the nation. Here's Hegseth talking about how the military needs to be proactive -- because those who wish us ill are certainly paying attention.

Nancy Pelosi Gives Update on How She's Feeling Post-Trump's Victory

Bonchie reporting for RedState

With Donald Trump's sweeping electoral victory getting further in the rearview mirror, it's important to check in on your elders to see how they are doing in this difficult time. CNN's Manu Raju did just that regarding Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday, asking her how she's coping with her party's embarrassing defeat and the return of Trump to the White House, someone she has consistently claimed is a "threat to democracy."

Her answer was...succinct. Hang it in the Louvre.

Normally, this would be the point where I struggle to write several hundred words based on a three-syllable utterance from a politician. I mean, I'm pretty good at ranting, but "terrible" wouldn't normally leave me much to work with. In this case, though, there's plenty of material, and Pelosi feeling "terrible" is just about the most poetic thing I can imagine, given the results of the election.

Let's not forget that it was the San Francisco liberal who birthed and orchestrated the plot to remove President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party nominee. No doubt, he had no business being in that position, but the primary had already occurred. The voters had cast their votes, and the process was over. Pelosi, ever drunk on power, though, didn't care. Instead, she pushed a pressure campaign along with former President Barack Obama that forced Biden to step aside and make room for someone they deemed more electable.

Pelosi's Dismissal of Her Coup Is So Absurd, You'll Think She's Drunk

They wanted to act like monarchs ruling over the plebs, but things didn't quite go as planned. Instead, Kamala Harris, who neither Pelosi nor Obama wanted to assume the role, quickly seized the moment, leaving the Democratic Party no choice but to play along. With no "open primary" on the table, a coronation was arranged. Even before the election, Pelosi's plan had already failed, and we know how the rest turned out.

So if there's one person who deserves to feel "terrible," it's her. On the flip side, I'm assuming that Biden is enjoying every minute of this.

I've got an idea for Pelosi. If she's really feeling that bad, maybe just retire? The woman is 84 years old. She's been in government for longer than some congressional members have been alive. At this point, her continued grasping for power has become pathological. It's actually disturbing to witness.

Be a normal human being and ride off into the sunset. Spend some time with your grandkids. Stop wandering around the halls of Congress like a demented old kook mumbling about how terrible things are. There are people all across the country who would love to be able to retire with a $15,000 fridge full of designer ice cream. Pelosi has run her course.

Biden Administration Declares Trump Cabinet Picks ‘Unqualified’

U.S. — The party responsible for appointing a Transportation Secretary whose only relevant experience was an apparent love of for toy trains has declared Trump's cabinet picks "unqualified."

The Democratic Party, fresh off appointing a dude who wears dresses as a health minister, a guy who steals women's luggage as nuclear weapons officer, and a Joker-costume-wearing lesbian who can't answer questions as Press Secretary, felt that Trump's choices did not have the proper credentials for their jobs.

"President-Elect Trump has beclowned himself with these appointments," said Senator Elizabeth Warren, handing her makeup bag to Admiral Levine. "These are serious roles with real responsibilities. We need the absolute best, and -- hey, has anyone seen my luggage?"

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked if the White House had any official statement about Trump's selections, to which Karine-Jean Pierre screamed, "I'm gay" and ran out of the room sobbing.

At publishing time, the people responsible for Afghani civilians hanging on to a cargo plane's wheel well stated that Trump's choice for Secretary of Defense was incompetent.
