The Cultural Revolution Never Ends

Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story aptly stated that “republics are created by the virtue, public spirit and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people in order to betray them.” Though that warning is over 200 years old, it feels completely relevant to the crisis we face in this era.

Our educational system has made it a policy to banish wisdom and truth in the name of false justice, pseudo-equity and a delusional crusade against biology. Not a decade ago, transgenderism was an odd subculture that existed on the fringe of society, yet unbeknownst to us, all its adherents and acolytes were gaining traction in the halls of higher education and in the minds of the bureaucrats those institutions were pumping out. It is now in the middle of a cultural blitzkrieg that has taken parents and communities completely by surprise.

The propaganda machine has been working full time, coercing children and teenagers in the vulnerability of puberty and adolescence to identify with this “chic” zeitgeist. Over 1 out of 20 people under age 30 in America now identify as transgender or a gender outside of their God-given one, according to Pew Research.

Those who disagree with the new orthodoxy are punished and maligned. A young college student gets a zero on her term paper, a term paper her teacher said was very good, by the way, but the zero was because she wrote the word “woman” on it. This is just one of the litany of abuses that those who deny the “new normal” suffer. The sterilization of children, forced political groupthink, and punishment of dissenters sounds more like Mao’s China than the America of old.

Additionally, forced racial, sexual and gender quotas are being buttressed across the country even as the Supreme Court has ruled against affirmative action. The left places diversity above merit because having a rainbow coalition of obedient soldiers is more useful than an intellectually vigorous community to manage. Teachers are rewarded for being activists and embracing the causes of the day, not the truths of eternity. The result is morally confused teachers teaching their false wisdom. Our children are being taught hate and division while kids’ reading and math scores plummet. California, Nevada and Connecticut are moving to implement something called “equitable grading.” This downplays the importance of homework and eschews assignment deadlines. The holdouts in education who claim this disincentivizes students and leads to a lack of accountability are roundly ignored as relics of a bygone time.

Federal agencies, such as the Department of Justice, target and prosecute parents when they try to fight for their children. Lifetime bureaucrats, liberal politicians and corporate journalists applaud this behavior because their end goal is placing the primacy of the state above parents and families.

An organization called SIECUS (the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States) establishes the national sex education standards for the U.S. educational system, and right on their website, they explain the curriculum for public schools to teach. Kindergarteners are taught to question their gender and learn about adult sexual practices. From second through fifth grade, children are defining gender identity and stereotypes, discussing sexual feelings and learning about hormone blockers. By eighth grade, children are taught to define sexual acts and how to access an abortion. Schools are also partnering with something called Amaze videos that talk about sexual orientation, identity and masturbation. Parents don’t realize they are funding this. In Connecticut, third, fourth and fifth graders are being shown a video about Simon, who waves the pride flag and expresses how he doesn’t feel like a boy or girl, and that is OK! They are being sent home with puberty kits and boys with pantiliners and maxi pads. Many parents have objected and are starting to pull their children out of these schools. Meanwhile, third graders in China are learning calculus.

Congresswoman Jahana Hayes, representing Connecticut’s Fifth District, has tweeted out #protecttranskids. What does this mean? Not only will parents be punished for not going along with what the child and school tell them, but now the child feels empowered to go against his or her parents. As a pre-teen or teen, they know they don’t have to listen to mom or dad, and now they have the government on their side. The government will protect me from my mean and bigoted parents. It is getting to a point where if parents do not affirm what their 10-year-old child believes, then the parent could be under the federal government’s scrutiny.

To help counter this jihad against justice, I suggest all patriots should support organizations such as MAMAS, Mothers Allied to Make America Strong. Until we can abolish the Department of Education, MAMAS helps direct parents in Connecticut to educational alternatives besides public schools.

I taught in public school, I homeschooled my children and I taught Sunday School. I know how beautiful and innocent children are. We are obligated to protect them from a culture that drags children to the altar of sterilization, mutilation and indoctrination. If we do not fight on this hill, on what other hill will we fight?

Extreme rich idiots who think they can fight their all powerful bosses compare their doomed plight to the French Revolution. 🙄😡

The current strike in Hollywood by writers and actors has brought the entertainment industry to a screeching halt for the first time in years.

One former studio head has already said that if this strike goes on too long, it could cause Hollywood to collapse.

The people who are doing the striking are, for the most part, on the far left, politically speaking, and are now comparing their strike to the French Revolution.

Do any of these people know how that chapter of history ended?

Variety reports:

If the battle echoes the Book of Samuel for some, Fran Drescher, the sitcom star turned actors union leader, preferred to evoke the French Revolution, likening SAG-AFTRA’s struggle to the proletariat’s rebellion against an out-of-touch monarchy. “Eventually the people break down the gates of Versailles,” the “Nanny” star said during a press conference officially announcing the strike.

As if on cue, Disney CEO Bob Iger countered with his own let-them-eat-cake sound bite, telling CNBC’s David Faber a few hours earlier that when it came to negotiating with striking writers and actors, “there’s a level of expectation that they have that is just not realistic.” The mogul, who stands to earn as much as $27 million in total compensation this year, delivered his blunt assessment from Sun Valley, Idaho, a bucolic ski resort that hosts Allen & Co.’s annual media conference — an event that some call “summer camp for billionaires.”

Fittingly, actors joined Writers Guild of America members on the picket lines on July 14 — Bastille Day. Ron Perlman, the “Sons of Anarchy” star, adopted a Robespierre-like tone in a viral video message posted to Instagram: “The motherfucker who said we’re going to keep this thing going until people start losing their houses and their apartments … we know who said that and where he fucking lives,” he said, referencing a Deadline report that quoted an anonymous studio executive about dragging out WGA talks to the point where its members face financial ruin. “You wish that families starve while you’re making 27 fucking million dollars a year for creating nothing? Be careful, motherfucker. Be really careful.”

Most people on the right don’t really care one way or the other.

This could end very badly for the people who are striking. Do they not see this?

How To Create Conspiracy Theories ~ VDH

It is easy to birth conspiracy theories.

All that is required is chronic government stonewalling of reasonable requests for transparency. Then add in high officials serially lying under oath, along with the blatantly unequal application of the law. Institutionalize arguments from authority of politicians and bureaucrats who refuse to adjudicate arguments empirically.

Include the weaponization of investigatory and intelligence bureaucracies. Finish with the transformation of an obsequious media into a mouthpiece of the state. And presto, you end up with a skeptical, cynical public that learns to believe the very opposite from what it is told by elites.

January 6th

Curiously. some conservative politicians, media and politicos often remark of their surprise that so many of the Trump base insists that the January 6 riot at the Capitol was in part a federally driven conspiracy, or perhaps just a mere “demonstration” gone awry.

But whether true or not, why would some not believe that—given the efforts of the state to hide and warp facts?

Consider what drives rational people to embrace supposed “conspiracy” theories around the so-called “insurrection?”

One reason, of course, is that there was evidence of FBI informants present on January 6. Do not take the word of conservatives for such suppositions.

Instead, remember what award-winning New York Times’s reporter and keen follower of right-wing political activity, Matthew Rosenberg said of January 6, albeit in an ambush interview conducted by Operation Veritas:

The left’s overreaction — the left’s reaction to it in some places was so over the top. They were making it too big a deal … that gave the opening for lunatics in the right to be like, ‘Oh, well, nothing happened here. It was just a peaceful bunch of tourists,’ you know, and it’s like, but nobody wants to hear that.”

Rosenberg then remarked that he spotted numerous FBI informants among the crowd milling around the Capitol. Or as he put it, “There were a ton of FBI informants among the people who attacked the Capitol.” Cannot the FBI refute such allegations?

Apparently not. Given such speculation, one would expect that FBI Director Christopher Wray might at least categorically deny such inflammatory accusations.

Yet in congressional testimony when asked whether the FBI had inserted informants among the protestors, sphinxlike Wray merely shrugged, “So I really need to be careful here talking about where we have or have not used confidential human sources.”

Then there is the mysterious case of Ray Epps, initially sought by FBI “as a person of interest” for allegedly inciting demonstrators to break the law and enter the Capitol.

But then oddly Epps was de facto exempted for some 30 months from arrest—even as hundreds who urged no such action were indicted and convicted of “illegal parading” or unlawfully “demonstrating in front of the Capitol”—misdemeanors that ended up resulting in felony-type sentencing.

In one video clip, as Epps attempts to gin up the stationary crowd to move illegally into the Capitol, he is met with “conspiratorial” accusations from skeptical bystanders calling out: “Fed! Fed! Fed!”

Epps filed suit against Fox News for defamation on grounds that anchor Tucker Carlson had tied him to efforts to incite January 6 violence. Yet then suddenly Epps announced that he believes he will soon be charged, after all, by the government for his role in the January 6 protests.

If true, such an arrest was long anticipated, since Epps is caught on tape, unambiguously, on more than one occasion, urging demonstrators to enter the Capitol unlawfully (e.g., “We need to go to the Capitol”).

If one would like to hatch an Epps conspiracy theory, then one could do no better than quoting another Ray Epps braggadocious claim that he had texted to his nephew: “I orchestrated it.”

It did not help the Left’s construction of a January 6 “insurrection” theory that it serially misled the country about the actual loss of life. At first, Democrats insisted, falsely, that Officer Sicknick’s tragic death was due to protestor violence. Yet an autopsy revealed that he died a day later from a stroke.

Then Democrat leaders pivoted to claim that any law enforcement officer present on January 6, who for any reason subsequently committed suicide, was to be counted a victim of protestor violence.

All the while, the media kept largely quiet about the fact that the only unambiguously violent death that day was that of military veteran Ashli Babbitt. She was unarmed as she was shot unlawfully entering the Capitol through a broken window.

The name and identity of the officer, remember, were suppressed for months—a protective protocol unlike any other accorded law enforcement officers in the country who lethally shoot unarmed suspects.

Asymmetries

If all that was not enough to create suspicion about media and political narratives, then there was the asymmetrical media coverage and the reaction of the Justice Department to the 2020 summer riots.

Touch an officer on January 6, and one sat in jail for months. Club an officer in summer 2020, and the offender was likely to become certified as a member of the Antifa or BLM resistance, albeit acting up a bit during the “summer of love.”

Unlike January 6, the violence of arsonists, murderers, rioters, and Antifa and BLM mobs resulted in 1,500 injured law enforcement officers, more than 35 violent deaths, nearly $2 billion in property damage, and 14,000 arrests. Yet most of the indictments were dropped, or plea bargained down to minor misdemeanors by sympathetic leftwing city and state prosecutors.

Note that the 2020 rioters also targeted iconic and government buildings. Rioters attempted to burn down a federal courthouse, a police precinct headquarters, an historic Washington D.C. church—all topped off by the mob’s nocturnal effort to stampede into the White House grounds to get to the president.

That failed assault precipitated a hasty Secret Service effort to put Trump and his family in a secure subterranean bunker. Again, why was such violence aimed at the White House largely unpunished given its intensity matched or exceeded that of the Capitol riot?

Even more importantly, the investigatory January 6 committee also fed rather than quieted conspiracy theories. The Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives first denied nominated Republican representatives any seats on the select committee.

Instead, they cherry-picked just two Republicans—on the apparent requisite that both Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were a) die-hard Trump haters, and b) politically inert and headed for forced retirement.

The committee neither called any contrarian witnesses nor subpoenaed documents and videos felt to be antithetical to their narrative of a rightwing violent and armed “insurrection.” Yet, again, they did not produce evidence that anyone arrested inside the Capitol was in possession of a firearm.

Nor were any plans found of “insurrectionists” planning to occupy government property for any length of time—in the fashion of, say, Seattle’s “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ) or (CHOP) “Capitol Hill Organized Protest.”

In that case, rioters simply annexed government space as their own for over three weeks, ran the sanctuary-like mini-revolutionary state, forbid the police to enter, and were granted exemptions from city and state authorities.

The January 6 narrative of continuous threats of an armed revolution was leveraged to justify deploying 20,000 armed soldiers —the largest militarization of Washington D.C. since Jubal Early’s Confederate raid of 1864. Again, such use of federal troops stood in dire contrast to the abject appeasement of the far more violent 2020 rioters, when sympathetic mayors and governors resisted calls to deploy federal troops to their jurisdictions.

Recall that the suspicions arising around January 6 followed a long series of revelations about government misconduct that confirmed the suspicions of once reviled “conspiracists.”

In numerous cases, the wild charge of conspiracists eventually were proven, while the sober and judicious defense narratives of government officials were exposed as outright lies, and occasionally themselves conspiracies.

The True Conspiracists

There was no “Russian collusion” conspiracy.

There was a Clinton conspiratorial effort.

It sought to hide campaign money through three paywalls to hire Christopher Steele to add to his ad hominem lies and to ensure that they were disseminated throughout the media and government. The point was solely to emasculate her opponent, Donald Trump.

As far as the first Trump impeachment phone call, given the multimillion-dollar corruptions abroad of the Biden family syndicate, and the boasts of Joe Biden about his past interference in Ukraine politics to fire a bothersome prosecutor, any president would have warned Ukraine to clean up its act with the Bidens or face holds on American largess.

The Covid-19 virus did escape from a nearby Chinese virology lab. It was a media and government fed lie that it was birthed naturally in the wild by a bat or pangolin, part of a three-year long effort to appease the Chinese communist party. And there was a clear role of the NIAID and NIH in funding dangerous gain-of-function research under the auspices of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

Most of what the government assured about the quarantines and vaccinations proved eventually to be wrong or only half-true. That reality proved ironic when those who warned of lockdown dangers were eventually vindicated, but never received apologies from their accusers.

Given the blanket exemptions provided to Hillary Clinton for unlawfully destroying subpoenaed material and using a home server to transmit classified information, and the reduction of Hunter Biden’s numerous felonies to minor misdemeanors, and the likely exemption given Joe Biden for storing classified files for years at his various homes and offices, why would anyone not believe that the government and the media work hard to suppress the truth?

And why would any citizen believe the government or the media after the Biden campaign solicited “51 intelligence authorities” to swear falsely that the genuine Hunter Biden laptop was likely a product of “Russian disinformation.”

The entire concocted lie was a Biden-campaign effort to use the gravitas of former government officials and the complicity of the media to promote a fantasy to influence the impending presidential debate. And it worked to a tee.

Note as well that the FBI hired out Twitter employees to suppress information concerning the Biden laptop. The truth was deemed “disinformation” in order to mislead voters on the eve of the 2020 election.

Normally, distinguished government heads of hallowed bureaus carefully weigh in on investigations to warn against idle speculations and convulsed conspiracies. But who currently in Washington could be sure of any such voice since our most esteemed intelligence and investigative directors are admitted liars?

Former FBI Director James Comey feigned amnesia in congressional testimony. He passed off a dossier he knew to be fallacious as genuine evidence to a FISA court.

His successor Andrew McCabe lied on four occasions to federal investigators. Current Director Christopher Wray has continually stonewalled congressional oversight committees.

Special counsel and former FBI Director Robert Mueller preposterously claimed he knew nothing of the Steele dossier or Fusion GPS.

Both John Brennan, former CIA Director, and James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, admittedly lied under oath to Congress. None of these liars faced any legal consequences.

Anthony Fauci’s incriminating emails keep appearing in the public domain, making a mockery of his earlier, ludicrous claim that he had not channeled U.S. dollars to the Wuhan lab to ensure the continuance of outlawed gain–of-function research.

Worse still, so often those screaming “conspiracy theory” are conspiracists themselves. Hillary Clinton schemed with dark money and paywalls to smear her 2016 opponent.

As election denialists Hillary Clinton (“He knows he’s an illegitimate president”) and Jimmy Carter (“He [Trump] lost the election and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf”) refused to accept the 2016 verdict, projecting such denialism onto others.

So how does the government abort a conspiracy theory?

Simple: Quit the chronic lying and for once tell the truth.

How Do You Know When It’s Time to Flee a Deep-Blue Hellhole?

Joel Webbon’s book Fight by Flight makes the case for leaving blue states. Indeed, such trends could shape future elections for the better.

Sharon is as tired as her husband. Work takes them away from their kids. They both need a break, but can they afford a vacation? Sharon also misses her folks in Texas, and they miss their grandkids. To add despair to exhaustion, her church is more intent on making members feel good than doing good. Indeed, Hollywood culture is shaping her area more than Christ. Even their governor seems more focused on transitioning tomboys than fixing crime. Before bed, she tells her husband: “Where are our taxes going?” The rent is overdue.

Sharon is just a symbol, but her issues are all too real. They’re why thousands of families are leaving (fleeing?) California and other deep-blue states. It’s a sociological phenomenon. Like it or not, families are voting with their cars and plane tickets for red states. Many Christians are among them. Sociologists and pastors alike are paying attention.

A new book, Fight by Flight by Pastor Joel Webbon, advances the view that it’s OK to leave deep-blue states. Indeed, such trends could shape future elections for the better. As Webbon says, “If less than 100,000 conservatives/Christians living in California had moved to Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, or Wisconsin before the 2020 election, the whole world might look different. 6 million votes for Trump in California, and all we needed was 76, 514 (less than 1 and a half percent).”

It’s worth considering. Conservatives/Christians feel pressured to stay in places where they have little effect. In Sharon’s case, a move to Texas from California would honor her father and mother. She’d also have more time with her children and husband. She’d have more money to spend on essentials and experiences that reflect her family’s values. And as for her evangelical tradition? Not everyone is called to be a professional missionary, and there are mission opportunities in Texas.

Permission to Leave

Boiled down, Webbon says that leaving godless places is often loving godless places.

Fight by Flight has been praised by Megan Basham of The Daily Wire and Steve Deace of Blaze TV. This slim book is one of the most interesting reads I’ve come across in years. Part theology, part memoir, it’s a reminder that simple ideas can carry much weight. Webbon has a gift for distilling time-tested values for use in many contexts.

Currently, I live in Victoria, Australia, one of the most controlled states in the world during the Covid-19 hysteria. As a result, thousands of families left or are planning to leave. The mental health costs on children and adults, from breakdowns to suicides, are still being felt and will be for decades to come. Telling families they can leave for their children is a sign of compassion built on truth. Pastors like Webbon offer a Bible-based map out of regime-first mindsets, an alternative to passiveness.

History is also instructive. Did English Pilgrim fathers “fight by flight” when they hopped on the Mayflower? Did Jesus encourage a “fight by flight” lifestyle when he asked his disciples to travel light and carry swords? Did Moses “fight by flight” when he left Egypt with his people in the thousands? Indeed, “fight by flight” patterns occur across cultures, regions, and centuries. They involve strategy. They signal liberty. “Fight by flight” men built your area, most likely.

Staying for the Wrong Reasons

There are right and wrong reasons to leave or stay in states. Webbon encourages us to check our egos. Take the so-called California Dream. How many folks are chasing their “big screen” dreams rather than Jesus? How many dreamers wish to be the next big thing in Silicon Valley for the almighty dollar? How many naïve evangelicals misplace their faith in trendy nonprofit organizations to “save the world”? “I did it for ministry,” writes Webbon. “I did it to show all those chump pastors back in flyover country that I was capable of doing something great.”

Back to Sharon, she may find that moving to a rural area in her state works for her. Certain places bring out strengths and weaknesses. There’s value in thinking strategically as individuals and as groups. There’s a time to stay and a time to go.

I’d consider leaving my state, although that will be shaped by upcoming elections. Meanwhile, I’d like to think Sharon moves to and flourishes in Texas. Her kids are a blessing to her parents. Sharon’s taxes benefit a life-affirming culture. Sharon has more time for herself and her marriage. And last but not least, I’d like to think Sharon and her husband owned their house, an inheritance for their children and their children’s children — because one strategic move can bless many. One move can pack an eternal punch.

Have You Ever Noticed This?

At first blush, the following question might seem like a sideways throwaway snark at the professionally political. However, at the heart of it, there’s a truth in the question I am genuinely curious about.

Have you ever noticed that Donald Trump supporters have a better sense of humor than the supporters of all other political candidates?

I mean, it’s just a truthful observation.  Trump supporters are just plain funnier, have a fun disposition and are humorous people.

Like many of you, I’ve followed politics for a long time, and this is just one of those random observations that I have noticed.

The people who support President Donald Trump just have a much greater sense of humor.   Why is that?

Ignore President Biden, Here’s What Is Really Happening in Israel

The alleged authoritarian ‘backsliding’ by Israel’s ‘far-right’ government would actually make the country far more democratic.

President Joe Biden has reportedly asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop pushing through a “divisive” judicial overhaul bill amid protests.

This is the same Biden, incidentally, who crammed through a massive, highly “divisive,” generational spending bill with zero votes from the opposition; the same guy who regularly rules by unconstitutional executive diktats; and the same guy who has done more to delegitimize the Supreme Court than any president in modern history. Not exactly the moral high ground.

In any event, the president is concerned. As is The New York Times, which reports, “Israel’s Parliament passed a deeply contentious law limiting the Supreme Court’s ability to overturn decisions made by government ministers.” What the Times means is that there is a new law limiting the judiciary’s ability to unilaterally declare legislation “unconstitutional” without using any legal justification whatsoever.

Because, as it stands, Israel has a strong anti-democratic system overseen by a high court that is probably the most powerful judiciary in the free world. Netanyahu’s judicial reforms, only a small piece has passed, would bring Israel back all the way to 1995, when “judiciary revolution” imbued the court with supreme power over legislation. The alleged authoritarian “backsliding” by Israel’s “far-right” government — as if there is any other kind — would likely create a far more “democratic” system.

The judiciary primacy might work if the Israeli court’s decisions were grounded in some kind of statutory authority, traditional legal framework, or even existing regulation and law. But there is no Israeli constitution. The court’s decisions are often arbitrary, politically expedient, constantly evolving, and sometimes contradictory. The court regularly blocks laws passed by center-right governments simply because judges claim policy is unreasonable.

Why only center-right governments? Because the entrenched judges (with their allies in the Israeli bar) appoint their own successors in perpetuity. There is no accountability to either the popular will or a constitutional tradition. Imagine the American left’s outlook if the Supreme Court’s originalists could simply tap their own replacements without any input from senators or the president. “Only in Israel do judges confer the power of abstract review on themselves, without benefit of a constitutional or legislative provision,” Richard Posner once described the nation’s system. “One is reminded of Napoleon’s taking the crown out of the pope’s hands and putting it on his own head.”

The system is so insane that not only can the court lord over the legislative branch without explanation, but it can remove ministers and elected officials at will. The attorney general is empowered to bar officials — even the prime minister — from participating in national debates. This is not, by any real standard, “democratic” governance. It is illiberal.

Perhaps there is no good way to balance what is effectively two branches of the Israeli government. It’s a complicated issue. Reforms are no panacea. Some aspects make more sense than others. But judicial reform is hardly a new idea, and reforms are not being “rushed.” They have been debated within Israeli politics for decades, with numerous moderate legal voices proposing changes over that time. In many ways, the freak-out reminds me of the American left’s alarmism over tax cuts and net neutrality. It is largely a political effort to undermine Netanyahu.

The Associated Press, however, stresses that the protests in Israel are a “grassroots” effort as if this imbues a mob with a moral high ground or the authority to dictate government policy. In truth, many of the marches — and threats to shut down Israeli society — are organized by Israel’s biggest and most powerful unions and egged on by foreigners. If the prime minister lets these protestors blackmail him, he might as well resign right now. It’s going to incentivize anarchy.

As of now, protestors from both sides are out on the streets. And so far, they haven’t engaged in the defenestration of their opponents or any violence. The debate is an illustration of a “democracy” working, not one sliding into tyranny.

Yet, every time Israel has a contentious internal debate, concern-trolls like Tom Friedman emerge to lament the coming end of Israeli democracy. You will notice that according to the media, legislative proposals, domestic or foreign, are only “divisive” and “deeply contentious” when conservatives support them. The reality is that virtually everything we do in politics is “divisive” and “deeply contentious.” That’s why politics exists. And in Israel, the time of day is a deeply contentious issue.

Moreover, for the left, “democracy” can mean hyper-majoritarianism or judicial tyranny. Whatever works. Depends on the day. What am I saying? Democrats will argue that limiting judicial supremacy in Israel is an attack on “democracy” while at the same time claiming SCOTUS is engaged in judicial supremacy for showing deference to the Constitution and handing back issues like abortion to voters. Calvinball all the way down.

Of course, the Israeli Supreme Court was packed with right-wingers instead of left-wingers, American media, the Democratic Party, and the protestors would be on the reform side. None of this has anything to do with governing principles or justice or norms or “democracy.” Like those destroying the American judiciary at home, it’s about power.

The Israeli right is also about power. I’m not naïve. But right now, the reforms they support are far better aligned with the norms of a functioning “democracy” than the ones in place. That’s something a person reading headlines in the American press might not know.

NBC Ratioed Into Next Week for Hot Take on Family Being One of Biden's 'Greatest Strengths'

NBC Ratioed Into Next Week for Hot Take on Family Being One of Biden's 'Greatest Strengths'

Nick Arama reporting for RedState

We expect Democrats to spin all kinds of nonsense for Joe Biden.

Former (how wonderful is that word still) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tripped all over herself in her effort to defend him on CNN on Sunday, declaring him the best thing since sliced bread, and managed to show very clearly why neither she nor Joe Biden should be holding any important office.

But then there’s the liberal media — the undeclared support team. This take is something else, with elements of delusion and “Republicans pounce” all wrapped up in one headline/tweet.

What they’re trying to say is that they want you to believe the fiction of the Biden family that Joe Biden sells, and how dare Republicans burst that bubble with any truth that has been out there for years to show it’s not quite what Joe has been trying to sell us?

The article goes on at great length about Republicans talking about Navy Roberts, the child Hunter had with Lunden Roberts, and Biden not even acknowledging that he has a seventh grandchild as he brags about his “six grandchildren” whom he talks to every day.

But that wasn’t all. Here are a couple of snippets.

The attacks on the Bidens over their family are not new. Just this week, Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene held up nude photos of Hunter Biden during a House Oversight Committee hearing.

And this:

“Republicans have lost many of their core attacks against Biden as president. So it means that they need politically to develop more attacks on him as a person, as a father, or grandfather, because the attacks on him as president are becoming less effective,” longtime Democratic operative Simon Rosenberg said. “I’m not surprised to see greater investment or some of this ongoing obsessive investment of the Republicans trying to take him down as a man and as a dad and as a grandfather because it’s basically all they have.”

This is sort of a hilarious spin – the notion that there’s nothing to attack Biden on regarding his record. Republicans have a lot to attack Biden on because he has such a terrible record, particularly with inflation and how much that has harmed Americans, as well as the debacle of a withdrawal from Afghanistan. But Biden’s continuing problem is that poll after poll of the American people shows that a substantial majority doesn’t want him to run again and doubt his fitness to do the job. We saw that in the latest Harvard/Harris poll where former President Donald Trump was also leading Biden by five points and had a big lead with independents.

It’s hard for the Democrats to get around that, so now it sounds like they’re trying to come up with this spin about poor Joe being pounced on by the Republicans unfairly over his family. The take on MTG holding up the pictures is bizarre. MTG wasn’t responsible for Hunter doing drugs and hookers – that was all on Hunter Biden. Apparently, it’s pointing out the possible criminal activity that’s bad, not the possible criminal activity. Notice what’s missing there, too, in the NBC article – the reason for that Oversight Hearing about the Biden foreign dealings and alleged influence peddling – as well as the accusation about trafficking that’s out there that MTG made. NBC can’t wipe away the scandal simply by ignoring it or trying to reduce it to “nudes.” They can completely ignore it as they did in this article, but it isn’t going away.

“Decency” is back in the White House – along with the cocaine.

NBC was ratioed into next week over this ridiculous spin.
