Full Replay, CNN Broadcasts Trump Townhall, The Culmination of Their Seven-Year Effort to Destroy President Trump, CNN Leaves in Tears

A background is really worth considering.  For a full year in 2016 CNN attacked candidate Donald Trump relentlessly, calling him every name in the book and comparing him to the rise of Hitler.  Trump won. CNN then spent the next four years of the Trump presidency shouting at him, yelling at him, calling him names and decrying him as evil incarnate attempting to destroy him; including the promotion of the totally fraudulent Trump-Russia conspiracy theory, which they have never apologized for pushing.  CNN then spends the next two years hiding every Biden scandal they can cover and defending the Biden team as the nation burns down around them.

Enter 2023…  Hilariously, CNN never learned anything from the previous seven years, asks Donald Trump to come back and sends Kaitlin Collins onto the stage with instructions to be rude, combative, argumentative, snide and nasty.  What happens… Trump fearlessly destroys the effort, and the audience is well entertained.

Here’s the full CNN Townhall event replay.  {Direct Rumble Link}  CNN cried mercy and cut the Townhall short by 20 minutes, it was scheduled for 90 – they conceded defeat at 70 minutes and ended the broadcast.  The leftists then went into full meltdown pearl clutching in panel reviews everywhere, while the Ron DeSantis team had apoplectic fits of sad.  WATCH:

Daniel Penny to Face Manslaughter Charges for Jordan Neely Chokehold Death

Daniel Penny to Face Manslaughter Charges for Jordan Neely Chokehold Death

Article by Brittany Bernstein in The National Review

Daniel Penny, the 24-year-old USMC veteran who put Jordan Neely in a chokehold that proved fatal on the New York City subway last we“He’s not squeezing? All right. You’ve got to let him go. After he’s defecated himself that’s it,” the off-camera witness said.

The man holding Neely’s arms down then let go and asked Neely if he could hear him. When Neely failed to respond, Penny released him. Seconds later, Penny and the other man moved Neely into a recovery position. After three minutes and 45 seconds of video, Neely’s body contorted and let out a deep breath. The witness who recorded the video later said, “None of us who were there thought he was in danger of dying. We thought he just passed out or ran out of air.”

The Manhattan DA’s announcement came hours after City Council members called for Penny’s arrest.

“We all viewed a lynching for 15 minutes, we understand that was a crime,” council member Kevin Riley said.

“When it happens to us, we don’t get the same justification or the same leeway as our counterparts … I just want the same level of respect that we give other people for Black people,” said Riley, who is co-chair of the council’s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) previously called Neely’s death a “public murder,” while the city’s public advocate, Jumaane Williams, had called for charges to be filed against Penny “immediately.”

New York governor Kathy Hochul claimed that Neely died just for “being a passenger” on the subway and suggested it was “very clear that he was not going to, you know, cause harm to these other people.”

Neely was arrested in August 2015 for attempted kidnapping “after he was seen dragging a 7-year-old girl down an Inwood street,” the New York Daily News reported. He pled guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and was sentenced to four months in jail. He was later arrested again in June 2019 for punching a 64-year-old man in the face during a fight in a Greenwich Village subway station, the report adds.

Reddit posts unearthed by journalist Andy Ngo show that subway riders had grown to fear Neely even nine years ago because of his erratic behavior. He was also on a NYC Department of Homeless Services list of homeless people who had dire needs, the “Top 50” list, according to the New York Times.

Busy busy today! 1st, Pure Flix has officially merged with Great American Media (Link to my article: https://wwwp-lives.blogspot.com/2023/05/pure-flix-to-merge-with-great-american.html ), which I'm sure will be an excellent partnership since both companies have the same goal in mind: Make good movies and shows not ruled by a woke political agenda!

And I might be getting some NCIS LA finale related news tomorrow:

This is the same charity that 2 months ago auctioned off a lot of stuff from the show (and yes, that was the auction that I found out about Linda autographing the 2 part finale episode scripts, which is definitely a big clue IMO to how Hetty will be involved in both episodes!). If I hear anything positive about Hetty, I'll let you know.

Press Release:

PURE FLIX
AND
GREAT AMERICAN MEDIA
TO MERGE

Sony Pictures’ Faith and Family Streaming Service to Join Forces with Great American Media’s Portfolio of Family-Friendly Cable and FAST Channels to Serve Growing Audiences

Culver City, CA and New York, NY – May 11, 2023 – Pure Flix, a leading faith and family streaming platform owned by Sony Pictures Television, and Great American Media, home to a growing portfolio of family-friendly media brands, today announced the signing of an agreement to merge the two companies. Pure Flix will become part of the merged company, with Great American Media contributing two cable networks (Great American Family and Great American Living) and a FAST channel (Great American Adventures). Great American Media will retain a majority interest in the merged company and will oversee day-to-day management of the independent organization.

Great American Media President and CEO, Bill Abbott, will serve as CEO of the merged entity, reporting to the company’s board of directors. The new company will build on the multi-faceted, multi-channel family and faith media brands in the portfolio. Closing of the deal is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Pure Flix and Great American Media share the same mission to serve and delight consumers in the family and faith categories. Combining the power of Great American Media’s linear networks and FAST channel with Pure Flix’s SVOD service and vast content library will provide an opportunity for each platform to reach a larger and broader audience. Bringing the brands together into one entity will immediately establish the company as a leader in the genres.

“In a media environment where programming and distribution business models are in a constant state of flux, this agreement provides a rare opportunity to maximize our potential with the expertise, market knowledge and content creation capabilities of a world class partner like Sony Pictures,” said Abbott. “This merger will allow us to further our commitment to original, quality content and makes Great American Media and Pure Flix leaders in a large and under-served market.”

“Family-friendly entertainment remains an important segment of the industry, and merging these two entities will create the greatest opportunity to achieve more scale for Pure Flix as it continues to build its subscriber base,” said Ravi Ahuja, Chairman of Global Television Studios and Corporate Development for Sony Pictures. “Bill and the Great American Media team have been successfully leading the Great American Family and Great American Living brands, and we believe they have a winning plan to take Pure Flix to even greater heights.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SPT acquired Pure Flix in December 2020. The service provides faith and family-friendly movies and TV series to its ~1M subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.

Featuring original Christmas movies, rom-coms and classic series that celebrate faith, family and country, Great American Family is currently in ~50M homes and is carried by all major cable providers. Climate Change Alarmism and the Stupidity of ‘Certainty’

Climate Change Alarmism and the Stupidity of ‘Certainty’

Climate scientists working with ice cores from Greenland have data that agrees with climate-crisis alarmism. Temperature measurements have indeed been rising steadily over the last 150 years or so. They also show that doesn’t mean what it appears to mean. The time when scientists started measuring temperatures happened to be the coldest moment in 10,000 years.

The earth’s temperature naturally rises and falls over long periods of time. Common sense tells us that if temperatures reach their lowest point in 10,000 years, they might just start naturally bouncing back up from there.

This doesn’t prove climate alarmists are wrong about human-caused global warming. It only proves that the climate policies they’re forcing on us are scientifically unsupported, ethically monstrous, and supremely stupid. Watch the 4-minute video — you’ll enjoy it, I can promise you that — and then read on to find out why, and how you can avoid making a different but similar mistake.

It’s fascinating, it’s insightful, it’s surprising — and it leaves us with a lot of maybes. Maybe temperatures are rising because of carbon emissions, or maybe it’s just naturally time for them to start rising again. That’s if the findings hold up to further research, which is still another maybe. I didn’t hear anyone in this clip saying they had achieved global certainty over it.

In this case, though, “maybe” is more than good enough. It’s all we need have, in order to deal with the biggest problem in climate policy today: the stupidity of premature certainty.

Certainty Can Be Stupidity

This is far from the first maybe in climate science. Climate alarmists’ predictions have a way of failing to come true fairly often, so maybe their statistical models aren’t as trustworthy as they claim. And even if carbon is the problem they say it is, we don’t know yet whether there’s any reasonable way humans can reduce emissions enough to matter.

It’s easy to underestimate the power of maybes. Certainty can be stronger — you can be sure I don’t say “maybe” to my deepest values and beliefs — but certainty can also be just stupid. Unethical, too: People in power often use “certainty” to control and manipulate people.

Climate change policy is a great example. It’s dominated by people who are certain and who preach certainty. These people need a good solid kick of “maybe” in the rear. In this case it’s, “Maybe your certainty is all messed up. Maybe your science is all wrong.”

The Power of “Maybe”

Notice: That’s not necessarily, “Your science is wrong.” It’s simply, “It could be wrong, maybe.” That’s all you need, really. It’s good enough to carry plenty of meaning.

Just start with this: “You are re-wiring entire human economies, in ways that are guaranteed to deprive people of energy resources. Its harshest impact will be on developing nations. People across the globe will resist your demands, so if you’re going to make it stick, you’ll have to do it by taking away basic human liberties. That’s ethically horrendous on its own, but it’s just the start of it. It’s absolutely certain your energy policies will result in massive human suffering across the globe: widespread hunger, severe heat and cold, and more.

Then add this: “You’re forcing absolutely certain catastrophe on everyone, in order to maybe head off a maybe catastrophe.”

That’s wrong.

Recognize the Reigning Stupidity

When politicians tell you they’re making drastic, controversial policy changes because of “scientific certainty,” take cover. They’re aiming something nasty your way. Scientists are often certain, but science itself almost never is. If someone tells you it’s certain, and especially if there’s money, politics, or religion involved, you can bet there are scientists who disagree and can give good reasons for it. They’re just being shouted down.

Policy makers should know that about science. Possibly some of them are sincerely misguided, and they just don’t know. They don’t belong in positions of power, but that doesn’t keep them from getting there. Others may have fallen victim to false “consensus”: They’ve been listening so much to just one side, they think only one side exists. They’re no help to the rest of us, either. Worst of all are those who actually do know better, who are lying outright, and are using this manufactured “certainty” to control and manipulate people.

When politicians tell you they’re making drastic, controversial policy changes because of “scientific certainty,” take cover. They’re aiming something nasty your way.

Scientists themselves can be vulnerable to that manipulation. Science depends on funding, and powerful people control those funds. If you recall the debates over cigarettes and health, you know they came out with two results, not just one. One: Cigarettes are bad for your health. Two: Tainted money is bad for science. The tobacco industry bought the results they wanted from researchers.

The same sort of thing still goes on. Therefore when you hear policy-makers insisting “The science is absolutely certain!” it’s a very good bet someone’s paying to help keep it that way. It’s not because they love science, it’s because they can use it for their own ends.

Use Good Strategy Against the Stupidity

So here’s strategy you can use against this.

First, please do not make the same mistake, acting as if you have reasons for certainty when you don’t. If you have proof that carbon emissions are meaningless, or that global temperature change isn’t real, then good luck to you. I’d still go with the flanking maneuver, myself. We don’t need to prove alarmist science wrong. We only need to show it’s inadequate to justify the policies they’re forcing on us, and all your need for that is a good solid “maybe.”

Second, be careful of relying on science-y websites that agree with you. They may or may not be right, but if you’re going to use them in debate, you have to demonstrate they’re right, which is bound to be difficult. If you’ve got what it takes to do that, fine. Otherwise, follow the lead I took with the video above: It’s intriguing, it’s suggestive, but it doesn’t amount to scientific certainty, at least not yet. It doesn’t need to.

Third, bring the attack you can bring with power. “Maybe” is plenty powerful here.

Put a Halt to It!

Certainty is stupid, in the case of climate science. There’s just one semi-exception. It isn’t a real exception, it just might seem that way to whoever is trying for it. A person or group that wants to grab a lot of power might think it’s good strategy to abuse science this way. To a point they’re right: Just see how well it’s been working for them so far. In the end, though, they’ll suffer for it more than the rest of us, I believe.

Remember what I said earlier: If a politician tells you his drastic new policy is based on “absolutely certain science,” that’s all you need to know there’s something wrong with it. No one speaks that way unless they’re ignorant of how science works, or being dragged along by some crowd, or abusing science to gain power for themselves. That’s exactly what’s happening in climate policy today. The “certainty” it’s based upon is either stupid, or immoral, or both.

The word is “maybe.” If the world would only catch on to that one word, it could put a halt to global alarmist insanity. So speak it loudly. Speak it often. Otherwise … catastrophe is looming. I wish I could say maybe.

Zelensky on Saturday in Berlin. Then possible meetings with Pope Francis and Meloni in Rome

The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky could meet Papa Francesco in the next days. The confirmation comes from Vatican circles who confirmed the hypothesis circulated in the late afternoon today, with respect to which the face-to-face could already take place next Saturday. Oltretevere confirm that it is now a matter of days and therefore everything suggests that the occasion should be represented by the tour to the main European chancelleries, which the Ukrainian president is preparing to carry out, due to the fact that Zelensky is also expected to meet the premier in Rome Giorgia Meloni. But if the hypothesis does not come true this weekend, it would still come true in a very short time.

The Ukrainian head of state has been in Helsinki, Finland, and The Hague, the Netherlands in recent days and will be in Berlin over the weekend, as previously announced by the German media, to meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank -Walter Steinmeier. The Roman stage would also fall within this context.

The Culture War Isn’t The Most Important Issue Of 2024, It’s The Only Issue

Republicans who complain about the ‘culture war’ have no idea what time it is, or what kind of leadership this moment demands.

The more obvious it becomes that our domestic political struggles are actually part of a much larger spiritual war over the fate of western civilization, that we are today engaged not so much in a political fight as a religious battle between good and evil, the stronger the urge seems to be among Republican politicians to deny this reality and take refuge in the comforting political narratives of the past.

A perfect case in point was a tweet last week from Kari Lake’s permanent campaign, which managed in one fell swoop to channel the deeply misguided political analysis of the entire neocon Washington establishment: “No one is saying not to fight the culture war. But it’s simply not the most critical issue heading into 2024.”

“The GOP must show the country how it plans to turn the economy around & prevent World War 3,” she added. “We need to take this country back from @JoeBiden before we can take our culture back from his friends.”

Ah, yes. The comforting fiction that if we can just show voters how we plan to turn the economy around, surely then we’ll regain power, surely then we’ll have a mandate from the people — and then (and only then) we can “take our culture back.”

With apologies to Lake, who before the midterms seemed to have a bright political future in the emerging populist GOP, this is absolute nonsense. On the one hand, it’s a desperate cope, the embodiment of the stale, low-energy politics that have kept conservatives out of power in Washington for most of the last three decades. On the other, it’s a textbook neocon talking point, pretending the culture war is a distraction when in fact it’s the only war whose outcome really will decide the fate of our country.

Ironically, it’s also an example of the kind of politics that Lake herself purported to defy. She made a name for herself during the midterm cycle by taking on the political establishment and attacking the corporate media’s false narratives about 2020 and much else. Lake isn’t the politician you’d think would fall into this trap, yet she did. Why?

The best explanation has nothing to do with Lake in particular but with the tendency of all politicians to want to explain the problems we face and offer practical solutions. The economy is bad, here’s how we fix it. The cities are filled with dangerous lunatics, here’s how we make our streets safe again. The border is overrun with illegal immigration, here’s how we crack down and secure it.

Republicans are more naturally susceptible to this way of thinking because, unlike Democrats, they tend to be less rabidly ideological and less committed to fundamentally altering America and bringing about political and social revolution. But this way of thinking — that our most pressing problems just need common-sense policy fixes that normal people support! — is woefully inadequate for our current moment.

Put simply, the big mistake in thinking the culture war isn’t the most critical issue heading into 2024 is that all of American politics is now one big culture war. The culture war is the only issue because the cultural war is everything now. When one side stakes its claim to political power on offering abortion up until birth and transgender operations for 8-year-olds, and holds out these policies as proof of its moral authority, we’re way past arguing over how to get the economy back on track. There’s no going back to that kind of politics.

Tucker Carlson hit on this at the end of his big speech at Heritage recently. He compared the values of the political left to the values of the Aztecs, who sacrificed children to their bloodthirsty gods — and he wasn’t wrong. Our politics, he argued, have shifted profoundly in a relatively short period of time. Instead of arguing over the best means to bring about an agreed-upon common good, we no longer agree about what the common good is. Forget about whether Republicans or Democrats are right about the ideal marginal tax rate. We can’t even agree on whether men and women exist as meaningful categories. And if we don’t get that question right, you can forget about economic prosperity, much less anything like a republic or a constitutional system of government.

What the neocons and establishment politicians don’t seem to understand is that the culture war has become a grinding war of attrition that will end with the complete destruction of one side. There is no way to reconcile the vision of the common good espoused by the transgender movement, on the one hand, and orthodox Christians, on the other.

The culture war in America is not some luxury good that Republican politicians can sample now and then. It has consumed our politics by revealing deep, uncrossable chasms in our national life. So we now find ourselves in a different kind of struggle. Call it a culture war, a religious war, a battle between good and evil, or all of the above. It’s a war for survival between two competing and irreconcilable visions of what America should be.

Any politician on the right that doesn’t understand that, who thinks we just need to show voters our plan for getting the economy back on track, needs to step aside and make room for leaders who know what time it is, that the hour is late, the day now far spent, and the time for fighting has come. The culture war is now the big tent. Those who embrace it, who delve into the fray without apology, will be the next crop of leaders on both the right and the left.

Keep this in mind as we march toward the 2024 election cycle. The cast of buffoons and egomaniacs on the Republican side will feature mostly candidates who don’t understand or don’t want to admit what’s happening. They will say things like, “No one is saying not to fight the culture war. But it’s simply not the most critical issue heading into 2024.” And when they say that, they’ll be doing you a favor. You can then safely ignore whatever else they say because you’ll know at that point they’re either a fool or a coward, and all they have to offer is defeat.
