Welcome to the Matt Gaetz Era of the America First Movement

The Florida congressman’s stand against Kevin McCarthy ushered in a new era.

Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) has built his political career around being a firebrand, but it was not until last week that he showed how his brand of leadership can take hold of the political system to achieve major results for conservatives on a scale not seen in generations.

Last year, I contended that Gaetz would emerge from a leftist-promulgated, absurdly falsified sex scandal as the “model America First leader” because he has nothing to lose. He saw that the GOP machine, with which he had already battled publicly on many occasions, would do nothing for him except aggressively hammer the nails into his political coffin at any possible opportunity. There is no more point in gentlemen’s agreements; there is no more pretense of party unity or the genteel notion of playing on the same team. The veneer of civility had been wiped clean. All that remained was to drag these lowlifes into the gutter and wage total war against them. To go for their throats. To play dirty whenever possible. To punch them while they were down.

And the GOP establishment, despite its carefully constructed propaganda campaign faulting candidate quality and other absurd tropes for their dismal midterm performance, was down. The base knew that the likes of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) allocated funds to defeat America First primary challengers that could have been used to win elections in November. RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney-McDaniel was too busy with other concerns to appropriately administer funds during the midterms. The result was a catastrophe of monumental proportions.

There were weeks of non-stop browbeating about the need to go back to the good ol’ days when the establishment picked the likes of Mitt Romney and John McCain to lose with honor, and Republicans would periodically be given table scraps when the Uniparty decided the country needed a release valve. Phony staged fights featuring some scripted WWE-style yelling and chest-thumping from a weak beta like Trey Gowdy while trillions of dollars go down the toilet without accountability. This was the future set out by the RINO establishment, with Kevin McCarthy as the man steering the ship back toward mediocrity and managed decline. This was what the Republican Party was doomed to live out. But not if Gaetz had something to say about it.

Gaetz rallied other heroes—most notably Reps. Matthew Rosendale of Montana, Eli Crane of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Bob Good for Virginia—to take a stand against McCarthy’s anointment as House Speaker. They held out, refusing to give McCarthy the necessary votes to become Speaker, and used their leverage to demand meaningful concessions. In making this play, they put McCarthy in a tough spot. McCarthy had spent years brownnosing Trump and many close to the president, hoping that doing so would give him political cover during this very moment. Gaetz and company blew his cover. Now, McCarthy had to either legitimize the anger against the status quo from Freedom Caucus members and their allies, or move to the Left and appease Democrats, which would have sent the conservative base into an apoplectic rage and doomed McCarthy’s speakership before it even started.

They put McCarthy through the wringer for 15 rounds of voting, humiliating McCarthy and debauching his reputation for an entire week. Congress deservedly became the laughingstock of the country. Republicans and Democrats could not have looked more pathetic as they gave repeated standing ovations for their hand-picked pawns placed in positions of power because of their willingness to serve at Moloch’s feet. It was a revolting display, one that disgusted every poor soul who tuned into C-SPAN and watched this debacle. But, in the end, the good guys came out on top. On January 6, Gaetz led a congressional insurgency to win back our lost freedom. Let that day live on for generations to come as the day we stood proudly and seized our sacred birthright.

Concessions won by Gaetz, and his January 6 dream team include guarantees for votes on various bills related to national security, immigration, abortion, China, and the IRS, as well as crucial seats for House Freedom Caucus members on the House Rules Committee and House Appropriations Committee. There will also be a new Church-style committee to investigate deep state criminality, particularly with regard to the FBI’s political bias and influencing of the dubious 2020 presidential election. This is the most consequential victory for conservatism that has come out of Congress in recent memory, and it came during a time when Republicans were being aggressively conditioned to reject populism and fall back into establishment neocon Republicanism out of desperation.

After all, It was easy to be an America First populist in 2017 after President Donald J. Trump beat Hillary Clinton and implemented the greatest agenda that the country had seen since at least Reagan’s presidency. But after the COVID bioweapon killed millions, the Black Lives Matter terror force was unleashed onto the streets, elections were stolen in broad daylight with every part of the system enforcing the fraud as Trump and everyone else on the Right was left seemingly powerless to stop any of it from happening, doubt began to set in. Some conservatives began to lose their mettle, and, considering what they had been put through, it is hard to blame them. It is at critical junctures like these that true leaders must step up and give the people a reason to fight.

Gaetz stepped up and did so against remarkable odds. He responded to dire circumstances as a leader should, with steadfast resolve and unshakable confidence. Gaetz showed us that it is time to press forward the America First movement. At a time when many elected Republicans were talking about “getting things done” (i.e., corporate bailouts, domestic socialism, World War III funding in Ukraine, and other uniparty congressional priorities) and reveling in a Pyrrhic victory out of futility, Gaetz unapologetically went against the grain with a swagger reminiscent of Trump during his first presidential campaign.

What Gaetz orchestrated made tea party-era filibusters performed by Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) look strictly performative. These pale in comparison, because Gaetz’s stand took far more courage. When Paul and Cruz made their voices heard, they were fighting back against former President Barack Obama, the most reviled figure in political history from a Republican perspective, with a popular national movement behind them. Their stands were admirable, but they had a great deal of institutional backing from the GOP machine at the time. Gaetz stood up against a crooked member of his own party, and, not just establishment Republicans, but, shamefully, also many prominent figures within the MAGA Right who had cut deals with McCarthy.

Even President Donald J. Trump backed McCarthy throughout the struggle in yet another example of Trump making poor choices when it comes to picking allies and personnel. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) followed suit after cozying up to McCarthy in recent months and became a relentless attack dog for McCarthy against House Freedom Caucus members. Others became even more unhinged in opposition to Gaetz and his fellow holdouts. Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, who are ostensibly among the most conservative voices on the network, showed how Fox News has become unabashedly controlled opposition under the leadership of Paul Ryan and Rupert Murdoch’s liberal offspring. Gaetz was attacked by Ingraham, who falsely suggested that his stand was little more than a self-serving fundraising grift that could help Democrats. Hannity humiliated himself in his bullying treatment of Boebert, rarely letting her get a word in edgewise as she defended standing for conservatism.

Gaetz’s stand showcased the deep institutional rot within the America First movement, as Conservatism, Inc. morphs into Populist, Inc. and MAGA, Inc. It allowed the base to see who would stand for freedom in the trenches when times were tough and who would fold immediately, favoring pride and prestige over the cause of liberty. America First supporters would be wise to take notes, and politicians who were on the wrong side of this battle would be wise to make sure it never happens again. President Trump particularly needs to understand which way the wind is blowing. Shoring up the base heading into what could be an interesting 2024 primary, now that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is toying with a presidential run, ought to be a pressing concern for Trump. Siding with the likes of McCarthy is not winning him any additional support from the Republican voters he needs to win over to complete his political comeback.

This stand, led by Gaetz and the heroes of January 6, will age like a fine wine. Decadent and depraved political elites live only in the here and now. They are like the heroin addict searching only for his next hit or the alcoholic living only for his next drink. The horrendous fundamentals of the economy, with inflation and the mountain of debt, combined with the institutional and moral rot of this country, are undeniable signs of a late-stage empire headed toward a perilous collapse. As the conventional wisdom to put partisanship aside and unify leads to destitution and widespread despair, the lawmakers who refused to go quietly into that dark night will be the ones remembered fondly in the annals of history. Gaetz will be chief among those remembered as the last voice for sanity and dignity in a government gone mad. Because of his worthy statesmanship and political acumen, Gaetz has rendered himself the heir apparent to lead the America First movement for generations to come.

Seems like every day that goes by that I don't hear of a Died Suddenly tragedy happening to someone I know of is now a good one, even on a really slow day. 😩 I don't like that. Being thankful for each day that passes that I don't hear of this happening to someone I know of well irks me, along with 'dreading the inevitable'

Here's tonight's news:

The Manic Methods of Mad Democrats ~ VDH

We are faced with a revolutionary party well known from history that aims to change the nation into something unrecognizable by most Americans—and it feels that it has created the means to do it.

For all Joe Biden’s talk about “semi-fascist” and “un-American,” “ultra-MAGA” Republicans, it is the Democratic Party that has far more radically changed. It is descended into a woke, neo-socialist, radically green party. And it is committed, as Barack Obama once promised, to fundamentally transforming America. How it proceeds with that agenda is now as entirely predictable as it is creepy.

Election Warping

Before any presidential or midterm election, strict news suppression ensures that all bad news will follow, not precede, the voting. The Twitter files, Project Veritas ambush interviews, the Podesta emails, and occasional left-wing braggadocio like Molly Ball’s now infamous post-2020 election revelations in Time magazine, confirm the fusion between the media and the Democratic Party.

To the degree there is any independent journalistic inquiry about Biden—such as we are only now seeing with Biden’s security violations—it is likely only because the party wants the 80-year-old enfeebled Biden out of office.

The Democratic-media-deep-state nexus quashed all 2020 pre-election revelations about the embarrassing Hunter Biden laptop. Its contents more or less proved that the Biden family was corrupt.

Twitter and Facebook confessionals show how, in lapdog fashion, social media forbade coverage of the truth about the laptop. More than 50 former intelligence officers, organized by the confessed liars John Brennan and James Clapper—both of whom have admitted to deceiving Congress while under oath—used their former titles to fortify the pre-election lie that Hunter’s laptop was likely Russian disinformation.

A poll conducted after the election revealed that those voters who knew of the story might have changed their vote had they known the truth. Neither Clapper nor Brennan nor any of their subordinates has ever apologized. Their lack of contriteness recalls the late Senator Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) post-election brag about his effective pre-election lies concerning candidate Mitt Romney’s taxes: “Romney didn’t win, did he?”

Joe Biden, his lawyers, and the Justice Department likely knew that Biden had violated national security laws surrounding classified documents. Yet they suppressed that information until the 2022 midterms were over. The same is true of the pre-midterm news blackout of the massive fraud of mega-Democratic donor Sam Bankman-Fried. In close Senate races, where Democrats often referenced the Mar-a-Lago, it might well have mattered if they were confronted with Biden’s Garage-gate scandal, and the Madoff-like albatross of the obnoxious Bankman-Fried and his enabling family.

The list of 2022 pre-election gambits is endless. Biden offered amnesties for both student-loan debt payments and federal marijuana convictions. But perhaps the most flagrant Biden pre-midterm contortion was his sudden interest in flooding markets with oil and gas, hitherto reduced in supply within the United States due to his own green handlers.

Biden requested the Saudis to postpone OPEC cutbacks until after the election. Prior to the midterms, he begged illiberal regimes like Venezuela, Iran, and Russia to pump more oil as well. They were not keen to help him out, so, in the weeks leading up to the midterms, Biden began draining millions of barrels of oil from the strategic petroleum reserve to reduce gasoline prices, even as he lied that his own policies were bringing down oil and natural gas prices. Then shortly after the midterms, Biden announced he would cease drawing down the reserve that was banked at low prices under Trump and instead would buy a few million barrels at sky-high prices.

Since the election’s conclusion, he has been silent about concerns for the voter’s gasoline and natural gas price woes. Why the change?

Projection

The Democratic Left has mastered the art of projection. Most of their own nefarious activity (now soon to be revealed) will be recalibrated as the crimes of their opponents.

Hillary Clinton used three firewalls to conceal her employment of the fabulist Christopher Steele. He, in turn, never set foot in Russia to do any research. Instead, Steele, via money from the Clinton stream, enlisted a Moscow-based Clintonite Charles Dolan and Russian Brookings Institution analyst Igor Danchenko, either to invent fantasies, or pass on real Russian disinformation.

Clintonites in and out of government then released the resulting concocted “dossier” to the media on the eve of the 2016 election, supposedly proving that Trump was, as James Clapper would later lie again, “A Russian asset.”

In truth, Hillary was a colluding conduit for Russian disinformation and tried to warp the election by spreading Steele’s lies among top government officials to lend authority to preplanned media leaks, as the FBI deceived FISA court judges to spy on Clinton’s political opponents.

Then we come to election denialism, which began in earnest in 2000 when, almost immediately after the final Florida count, the Democratic National Committee pushed the lie that the Electoral College vote was illegitimate, and George W. Bush was “selected not elected.” In 2004 it was Senator Barbara Boxer’s (D-Calif.) turn. She, along with the recent chairman of the January 6 committee, U.S. Representative Benny Thompson (D-Miss.) and 31 other House members, voted to refuse to accept the Electoral College vote from Ohio.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton led the charge that Trump was “illegitimate” and had stolen the election. She never recanted and was soon joined by scores of Democratic officials, including perennial election-denier former President Jimmy Carter and Joe Biden. Her surrogates like Jill Stein sued to invalidate the election on the premise that computers were rigged, while has-been Hollywood actors peddled videos begging the electors to renounce their state popular vote tallies.

As a rule, leftists who most ardently denied the 2016 election—current House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) is the most notorious example—were the most vigorous in attacking conservatives for “denying” the 2020 election.

Stacey Abrams, who lost the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election by more than 50,000 votes but who described herself as the “real” governor, created a lucrative career barnstorming the country and lecturing Democratic audiences about how “voter suppression” had “robbed” her of the governorship.

Since 2000, as a general truism, the only presidential elections Democrats did not deny were those they won.

Suppression

We now know that prominent Democrats such as Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), along with the FBI, successfully used Twitter and Facebook to ban bothersome news stories and silence political opponents. The locus classicus of such efforts was the left-wing banning of the president of the United States from social media platforms while Iranian theocrats, ISIS, and the Taliban freely used them.

The reading public is only now learning through the Twitter disclosures of the accurate Nunes House Intelligence Committee majority memo, and the utterly fraudulent Schiff minority version—truth that was self-evident, but mostly suppressed by the media.

Again, Molly Ball outlined how Silicon Valley poured hundreds of millions into selected precincts to warp the voting turnout, how it suppressed unwelcome news, how the Democratic elite modulated the 2020 violent street demonstrations to fit Biden’s advantage, and how corporate America help to fund and advance what she called variously a “cabal” and a “conspiracy.”

Changing the Rules

It is hard to determine any major constitutional norms or long-held customs and traditions the new Jacobin Party has not sought to alter or junk to its own advantage. Remember there is no consistent policy concerning any of these proposed changes. Radical demands for reforms from the Left hinge only on their perceived short-term temporary political advantage.

In the House, Democrats destroyed the old idea that the minority leader was granted his own party’s selections to serve on congressional committees simply to stack the January 6 committee. They also recalibrated congressional House subpoenas as matters of criminality and staged performance-art arrests of anyone who resisted—the antithesis to the manner in which the subpoena denier and former Attorney General Eric Holder simply ignored all summons with impunity.

Jacobins normalized the idea of impeaching a first-term president the moment he lost the House, and to conduct such a proceeding without a special counsel’s report or serious cross examinations. They also introduced the new idea of impeaching a president twice, and then once he left office to try him as a private citizen in the Senate.

Thanks to Democrats, we have a new custom of raiding a former president’s private home in search of classified presidential papers, on the allegation that said president had not yet used his legal authority to declassify them.

The Democrats predictably want to end the filibuster and destroy the Electoral College—but predicated in the former case only on whether they currently enjoy a Senate majority, and in the latter only when it lost the Electoral College vote but won the popular balloting.

The Democrats wish to bring Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. into statehood. Were it a matter of adding new conservative states, and with them four additional conservative senators, they would abort the idea in its infancy.

They want to stack the court by enlarging it to 15 justices. Had any conservative voiced such “reforms” during the heyday of the Warren Court, he would have been denounced as an insurrectionist nut.

To ensure nationwide outlawing of voter IDs, Democrats tried to pass a national voting law to surpass the constitutional directive that the primary responsibility to establish voting laws remains with the states.

In just four years, the Left engineered the most radical changes in voting laws in U.S. history. The result was that in many states, under the excuse of COVID, some 70 percent of the electorate did not vote on Election Day—even as the rejection rate of improper non-Election Day balloting plunged.

The Left clamored for extended balloting because it had mastered the arts of mass-mailing absentee ballots, third-party ballot harvesting, ballot curing, and relaxing rules on authenticating addresses, and signatures, and matching ballots with registrars’ lists.

Asymmetries

One overriding principle of the new Democratic Party is asymmetry—or the notion that the Left’s moral superiority earns absolute exemption from the very methods they employ against their opponents.

Disproportionality explains why the historic Mar-a-Lago raid was constructed in bogus fashion as a legitimate search for “nuclear codes.” Yet it would have sparked outrage had the FBI, on rumors of Biden sloppiness, sent armed agents into Jill Biden’s underwear drawers looking for classified papers concerning Ukraine and Iran, or towed away Joe Biden’s Corvette to get access to a garage full of unlawfully stored classified papers, or strewn Biden’s papers across the floor for an FBI concocted photo-op.

The buffoonish protestors and rioters of January 6 were to be jailed for months without formal charges, put in solitary confinement, and often sentenced to the maximum punishment possible. But the rioters, shooters, and killers of 120 days of mayhem and violence during summer 2020 were calibrated as “summer of love” rowdies. Antifa and Black Lives Matter sort of, kind of  got a little bit out of hand in torching a police precinct, a federal courthouse, and an iconic Washington, D.C. church, as well as trying to storm the White House grounds, sending the president into an underground bunker.

That Antifa and BLM plotted much of their anarchy and violence on social media unimpeded was unremarked upon. That fact mattered not at all in comparison to the illegal paraders and rioters of January 6. Police who shoot unarmed protestors usually have their identities immediately revealed; yet when they lethally shoot the likes of an Ashli Babbitt, their identities are suppressed, and their questionable conduct lauded.

The Left destroyed the southern border to attract 5 million illegal-alien and impoverished future constituents from Mexico and former Third World Latin American and Caribbean countries. Had conservatives fast-tracked a massive legal immigration program to attract 5 million skilled and degreed immigrants from Europe or the former British commonwealth, the Left would have gone berserk in their cries of “racist,” and their current “demography is destiny” boasts suddenly would be replaced by the slur of “Great Replacement Theory.”

Donald Trump was deemed crazy. A Yale physiatrist made the rounds on television and in Congress to claim he needed an intervention and straitjacket. The FBI and an interim attorney general discussed wearing a wire to entrap Donald Trump and convince his cabinet he was nuts. If the FBI and the Justice Department did the same to Joe Biden, the Left would have claimed a coup was in progress.

Ditto if a major former Bush official wrote, in Rosa Brooks fashion, 11 days after the inauguration of Joe Biden, that he should be removed by either the 25th Amendment, impeachment—or a military coup.

Would anything be comparable to the twisted genre of murderous fantasies among has-been politicians, Twitter creatures, and grade-C actors—competing to dream up how Biden should be torched, stabbed, decapitated, hanged, dismembered, and shot, in the manner of the four-year venom from Trump haters? Would the FBI investigate all that if there were?

What would the Left have done if a conservative version of Madonna had screamed on Inauguration Day that she dreamed of blowing up the White House, as rioters flooded D.C. streets?

Joe Biden daily forgets where he is and what he is doing. Someday historians will fault those who knowingly used a non compos mentis septuagenarian, without regard for the interests of the American people, to mask a radical neo-socialist agenda.

Biden shakes imaginary hands. He insists his son died in Iraq. In his mind, Brian Sicknick was murdered on January 6. In Walter Mitty-style, he brags that he has been a semi-truck driver, an arrested civil rights activist, a major college football prospect, a U.S. Naval Academy scholarship prospect, and on and on. If Biden was given the Montreal Cognitive Test, as was Trump, he would likely flunk it outright.

Conservatives should be aware that they are not dealing with the party of JFK and LBJ. The Democratic Party has nothing in common with the agendas of a slick Bill Clinton and is well beyond the “fundamental transformations” of arch-narcissist Barack Obama.

We are faced with a strictly disciplined, no-nonsense revolutionary party, well known from history that aims to change the nation into something unrecognizable by most Americans. And it feels that it has now created the means to do it.

Establishment media no longer protecting Biden, another signal that he won’t get a second term

It’s only taken a week for Joe Biden to lose all three pillars of power that have served to get him elected as president and protected him from the consequences of his incompetence in office. Andrew Weissmann, the ruthless chief of staff of the Mueller special counsel investigation is warning him of his legal jeopardy he faces from the politicized Department of Justice in the wake of leaks about him planning to run for re-election. Political insiders like David Gergen (and in an update, hatchet man Adam Schiff) are letting him know that they will offer tepid at best defense for him. And the last pillar of Democrat power, the corporate media, is not on board Team Biden anymore, either.

Democrat insider weathervane David Gergen warns Biden he is going to get ‘creamed’

No less than AP’s White House correspondent Zeke Miller is warning Biden.

Joe Biden offered himself to Americans as a president they wouldn’t have to think about after the tumult of his predecessor. But an excruciating week of awkward disclosures and the appointment of a special counsel to investigate classified records found at his Delaware home and a former office dating to his time as vice president is beginning to strain his claim to competence.

While questions about Biden’s competence are no shock to readers of this and other conservative websites, it has been an article of faith in the corporate media that with Trump out of the White House, “the adults are in charge again.” Except that chief adult is a dolt, never smart in his prime, and is now well into senescence -- a truth that has been regarded as a state secret among his media defense corps. Now that they are admitting he may be noncompetent, the door is open on a flood of embarrassment reaching the pub lic that never watches Fox News or reds conservative publications.

Retired FBI special agent Mark Wauck writes at his Meaning in History site:

This, coming from a certified MSM source is a clear sign that Zhou [Biden] is being told: Sooner, not later.

Of course, this raises a lot of questions.

Start with, Was there some straw that broke the camel’s back? It seems clear that this hit was coordinated. The discoveries and leaks had to have been coordinated with the National Security agencies, working with political leaders—no doubt with the Gang of Eight members playing a significant role. The lack of any pushback from prominent party leaders and the collapse of any defense of Zhou from the usual pundits—after only the briefest flurry of defenses, mostly by way of attacking Trump—is another clear indicator of coordination.

But what about the timing? Some have suggested that this now puts Kama Sutra [Kamala Harris] in place to run for two full terms as POTUS. But Kama Sutra is one of the few political figures in this country who can make Zhou look remotely competent and/or savory. She’s a disaster waiting to happen, and everyone knows it. She will undoubtedly be replaced in 2024—if not sooner. What was the sense of desperation that led to jumping from the frying pan into the fire—if that’s what’s going to happen? We’re in the middle of a war that has developed into an existential crisis for the American Empire, and it’s going badly. Just as bad, and closely related, all knowledgeable forecasters are expecting a sharp economic crisis in the coming year. How could putting Kama Sutra in the Oval Office be an improvement, unless something far worse were going on behind the scenes? There is nothing in her past that makes her remotely qualified to guide the Empire at this critical juncture.

We’re unlikely to know the truth of what’s really going on any time soon. Not if the Deep State has anything to say about it. On the other hand, the existential nature of the challenges facing the American Empire could lead to unexpected consequences. For the time being, keep your eyes peeled for some quid pro quo for the GOP. This had to be a collective act, a collective hit. To go along with it, there had to be something in it for the GOP establishment.

Lastly, where does Trump fit in all of this? Could the hit on Zhou be used to justify a fake prosecution of Trump, in a desperate attempt to derail his political operations? Tit for tat, fair is fair—ignoring the very clear differences? We’ll need to wait on events. But this much seems beyond question: Zhou is a dead man walking, in political terms.

George Soros not attending World Economic Forum due to 'scheduling conflict'

The Hungarian billionaire and Democrat donor took to his Twitter page for the first time in over two months to make the announcement, marking the first time in years that the long-time Democrat donor will be absent from the meeting.

As the first day of the 2023 World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting kicks off in the Swiss ski resort town of Davos, one of the notable long-time attendees of the invitation-only event will be missing out on the action due to "secheduling conflict."

Hungarian billionaire George Soros took to his Twitter page for the first time in over two months to make the announcement, marking the first time in years that the long-time Democrat donor will be absent from the meeting.

Soros, 93, has long been a supporter of Liberal causes, and was the Democrat's largest single donor last year. It is not clear what his scheduling conflict is.

The theme of this year's annual meeting is "Cooperation in a Fragmented World," which, according to the event's website, promises to "tackle the numerous and interlinked challenges the world is facing and find solutions through public-private cooperation." World leaders and CEOs will "work together on the interconnected issues of energy, climate, and nature" and will have a "Special emphasis" on "gender and geographical diversity."

The World Economic Forum (WEF), which claims to be "independent, impartial and not tied to any special interests," has been in recent years pushing for a post-pandemic "Great Reset," a liberal-backed global economic reshuffling that outlines a new world order where governments play a bigger role in wealth generation and distribution.

The mastermind of the "Great Reset" is WEF chairman Klaus Schwab, who in November described China as a "role model for many countries."

The WEF said last week that deligations from China would be in attendance at the meeting, but that their names could not be shared for security reasons.

Approximately 5,000 members of the Swiss army have been deployed to Davos to ensure the safety of this year's attendees. According to Michael Straub, the clerk of Davos, two groups, "Strike WEF" and Juso GraubΓΌnden, have submitted applications to gather and protest at the meeting, which runs from January 16-20

Andrew Weissmann Gets Roasted By BlueAnon After a Rare Moment of Honesty on Joe Biden

Bonchie reporting for RedState

Is there any worse figure in the DOJ’s recent history than Andrew Weissmann? The infamous “pitbull” of the Robert Mueller investigation into “Russian collusion” spent his career at the department breaking the rules, having major convictions thrown out, and doggedly pursuing his political enemies.

Once Donald Trump left office, he apparently felt his job was done, and Weissmann moved directly over the MSNBC to become a legal analyst. In that role he’s continued his crusade, serving as a favorite of BlueAnon (i.e. the wildly partisan, conspiracy-minded left). Since becoming a media figure, Weissmann has always been there to confirm their priors, first and foremost being that the orange man was indeed bad.

But when you court the BlueAnon true-believers, you will eventually die by the BlueAnon true-believers, and Weissmann is feeling the pressure after he stepped out of line on Saturday. Specifically, he had the audacity to ask some basic questions about Joe Biden’s handling of his classified documents scandal.

Here’s just a taste of the outrage he faced after saying the White House is “digging a hole deeper.”

The left’s psychosis is on perfect display in those posts. When you are telling BlueAnon what it wants to hear, it’s a docile entity that will lavish praise on your takes and advance your career. But when you dare to go against their conspiratorial fever dreams, much less question a Democrat politician, the gloves immediately come off. Everything is a “straightforward analysis” for BlueAnon until he conflicts with their chosen reality.

Certainly, Weissmann deserves the angst he’s now receiving, but he also happens to be right in his critique. Why is the Biden administration claiming transparency while refusing to answer basic questions? They keep making it sound like every “found” batch of classified documents will be the last, yet more and more just keep turning up. What did they contain? What’s the total number so far? What were the levels of classification? How did the higher-classification material end up outside of a SCIF?

We know via leaks that at least some of what was found deals with Ukraine and Iran. We also know that some were marked top secret (which means they were marked in a way that would have been impossible to miss). The full extent of everything is still a mystery, though. Further, this was kept secret for two months, including through an election, and Biden now wants to assert he’s being transparent because he got caught. That’s not how any of this works.

Every step of the way, the White House has obfuscated what took place. Every shoe that has dropped has been covered up until a leak has forced their hand. We went from one “accidental” trove of documents to four, and there’s no reason to think there aren’t more. The official narrative has crumbled, and even Andrew Weissmann, of all people, is starting to see the writing on the wall.

Chuck Todd Joins the Media Crowd Losing Their Crap Over Joe Biden's Pilfered Secret Documents

Chuck Todd Joins the Media Crowd Losing Their Crap Over Joe Biden's Pilfered Secret Documents

streiff reporting for RedState

Democrat apparatchik and fake journalist Chuck Todd had a rather amazing interview with Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson on the seldom-watched “Meet the Press” on NBC. The subject was the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland (Special Counsel Appointed to Probe Joe Biden, White House Lied About Second Trove of Classified Documents) to investigate the discovery of secret documents strewn about Joe Biden’s former office at the Penn Biden Center (Penn Biden Center’s Friendliness With Communist China Leaves Unanswered Questions About Biden’s Storing Classified Documents There), his home (Second Location of Classified Documents Taken by Joe Biden Revealed, Scandal Deepens Considerably), and under empty Pennzoil cans in his garage, and the potential actions by the Senate.

This is the whole interview. There is something eerily prophetic about a video named “Full Johnson.”

Todd starts out by questioning why Congress might want to do an oversight investigation about Biden and his various criminal acts.

So, I guess the problem that I feel like you run into with that decision is what you’re saying is if the Justice Department decides a crime wasn’t committed, they’re not going to prosecute a crime, it sounds like you still want the information out there because you want to politically damage the person that was investigated?

Really? Politically damage an opponent by holding public hearings into their conduct? Such a thing has never been done in Washington.

Then there is this classic.

Senator, senator, do you have a crime that you think Hunter Biden committed because I’ve yet to see anybody explain. It is not a crime to make money off of your last name.

Making money off your last name is one thing if you are the untalented git of some Hollywood star. It is entirely different to fly to and from China on Air Force Two and return with a $1.5 billion business deal and a $500 million “loan” that doesn’t have to be paid back while kicking back 10 percent of the deal to the “big guy.” How about getting a no-show job on the board of directors of Ukraine’s national gas company at $83,000 a month and having your Dad fire the anti-corruption prosecutor?

This all violates the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. How about the rumors of porn involving what might be underage Chinese girls starring Hunter and the potential for leverage that would give the Chinese government over the actions of the Biden White House?

Along the way, Todd heaps ad hominems on Senator Johnson and his motives.

Turley recalled a time when Todd was perfectly willing to destroy a politician’s reputation because something “might” be amiss.

Biden compromising the nation’s security might have been the political story of the week, but the political story of this weekend has been the Congressional and media reaction to the story.

Strangely, the reaction from Congress has been despair rather than the full-throated defense that I think most of us had expected (Dems Are Losing Their Minds Over Biden Response on Classified Documents). So it has been left to the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party to take up the defense (Acosta Gets Mocked Into Next Week Over His Effort to Shill for Biden on Classified Docs).

Rumors have abounded for months that Todd’s job was on the chopping block as he’s single-handedly overseen the devolution of one of the classic Sunday talk shows into nothing more than a recitation of Democrat talking points. Perhaps he thought trying to provoke a slap fight with Senator Johnson was just the thing to drive ratings.

I think it is something more. This bizarre and nearly childish interview by Todd hints something is perking behind the scenes. We don’t know the classification of the Biden documents yet. By this time, into the Trump document “scandal,” media leaks were claiming that they included nuclear launch codes (patently ridiculous to anyone but the profoundly imbecilic) and payroll documents for deep cover US assets in hostile countries (wtf?). The fact that no one has said, “hey, they were just routine documents that were over-classified,” means there was a serious breach of security. The actions by Congressional Democrats indicate they are not willing to go out on a limb defending Biden.

CHUCK TODD:

–and lending your perspective to this. And joining me now is Republican Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. He’s the top Republican on the Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Investigations. Senator Johnson, welcome back to Meet the Press.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

Well, Chuck, it’s been a while.

CHUCK TODD:

It has. Let me start with — do you approve of Merrick Garland’s decision to appoint a special counsel to look into the Joe Biden classified documents?

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

Well, I guess because he assigned one to President Trump, it was pretty inevitable. I’m not a real fan of special counsels. I did join 32 of my colleagues in calling for one for Hunter Biden because we had a whistleblower that said that Attorney Weiss doesn’t have the resources to do the type of investigation required. So, but in general, I’m not a fan of special counsels. I think the way we handle these investigations of wrongdoing — I’ll call it that — in the political realm is we just do it completely backwards. I think Congress ought to be able to have access to all the information, do their oversight. You know, I never held public hearings. We just, you know, did our investigation and then issued a report. If there is evidence of wrongdoing, then we should refer that to the Justice Department. Then the investigation should take place. What happens nowadays is the investigation begins, Congress never gets access to the information, and as a result, the American public never understands the truth of these situations. And so, again, we just do these investigations in the political realm with wrongdoing completely backwards.

CHUCK TODD:

So, do you think though that — I mean, Congress has an oversight role. So shouldn’t Congress do their oversight role after an investigation is over? If doing it during the investigation, doesn’t that end up, either on purpose or inadvertently, interfere in the investigation?

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

The problem is is Congress never gets access to the information. And by the time we do get access to the information, if we do, it’s all old news and the political figures aren’t held accountable. And from my standpoint, you know, I’d much rather have political figures held accountable with the truth being exposed of what they did, what their wrongdoing, as opposed to the criminal penalties. Oftentimes it’s very difficult to get any kind of criminal charges or convictions, particularly if you’re a Democrat in Washington D.C. So, from my standpoint, the more important imperative here is for the public to understand exactly what is happening inside government, inside of the administration. And we never find that out. And so, that is part of the problem we have in terms of our politics today is the American public remains in the dark. Misinformation is spread on all sides. And certainly from a conservative viewpoint, one of our frustrations is the censorship, the suppression of information primarily is coming from the left against the conservative viewpoint.

CHUCK TODD:

So, I guess the problem that I feel like you run into with that decision is what you’re saying is if the Justice Department decides a crime wasn’t committed, they’re not going to prosecute a crime, it sounds like you still want the information out there because you want to politically damage the person that was investigated?

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

No, Chuck, because a lot of political wrongdoing does not necessarily result in a crime, but it’s still wrong and the public needs to understand exactly what happened. So, you know, take a look at the political wrongdoing on the part of the FBI. They went to Twitter and they were censoring information. Take a look at the 51 intelligence operatives that issued a letter saying that the Hunter Biden computer was — had all the earmarks of a Russian information operation. That letter was an information operation. What happened? The FBI had access to Hunter Biden’s computer in December 2019. Senator Grassley and I were conducting an investigation during Covid — not the easiest thing to do. We were smeared. There were false intelligence products leaked to the media. We got unsolicited briefings from the FBI designed to smear me because they leaked it later. The FBI spent almost nine months setting up the ability to sabotage the Hunter Biden computer, should it ever surface, which it did the day after. We were offered Hunter Biden’s computer the day after Chuck Grassley and I issued our report. But we did our due diligence. We went to the FBI. “What do you know about this?” They never came clean with us. Mr. Mac Isaac ended up getting frustrated and offered that to Rudy Giuliani’s computer, and then — or to his attorney, and then to the New York Post. But again, nine months of the FBI setting up the process of sabotaging Hunter Biden’s computer, which we now know is authentic. Our investigation was accurate, but we were smeared. All that information was censored and suppressed. And the FBI, in their actions, impacted the election to a far greater extent than anything that Russia or China ever could have hoped to have accomplished. These are facts, and that’s all I’m interested in, is I’m interested in the truth. And I think the American public deserves the truth. And again, these investigations, they cover up the truth.

CHUCK TODD:

Senator, senator, do you have a crime that you think Hunter Biden committed because I’ve yet to see anybody explain. It is not a crime to make money off of your last name.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

So, Chuck, you ought to read the Marco Polo report, where they detail all kinds of potential crimes. You know, Senator Grassley has certainly uncovered the —

CHUCK TODD:

Oh, hold on, let me stop you there. Potential. This is — senator, potential is innuendo.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

About, about, about, about, $30,000 —

CHUCK TODD:

This is why you do investigations.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

I mean, Chuck, is it a crime to be soliciting and purchasing prostitution in potentially European sex trafficking operations? Is that a crime? Because Chuck Grassley and I laid out about $30,000 paid by Hunter Biden to those types of individuals over December of 2018, 2019, about $30,000. That’s about the same time that President Biden offered to pay about $100,000 of Hunter Biden’s bills. I mean, again, that’s just some information. I don’t know exactly if it’s a crime.

CHUCK TODD:

Here’s what I don’t get. All right, Senator —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

It doesn’t really look — it sounds sleazy as you know what.

CHUCK TODD:

I’ll — I’ll take you, I’ll take you at your word that you’re ethically bothered by Hunter Biden. I’m curious, though, you seem to have a pattern —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

Are you not? Are you not?

CHUCK TODD:

You seem to have a pattern. I’m a journalist. I have to deal in facts.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

Are you not?

CHUCK TODD:

I deal in facts. Senator, my question to you is, I’m always worried, I have skepticism of both parties. I sit here with skepticism of a lot of people’s work —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

So do I.

CHUCK TODD:

— and I’m curious, are you, were you at all concerned? This — Senate Democrats want to investigate Jared Kushner’s loan from the Qatari government when he was working in the government negotiating many things in the Middle East. Are you not as concerned about — are you not concerned about that? And I say that because it seems to me if you’re concerned about what Hunter Biden did, you should be equally outraged about what Jared Kushner did.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

I’m, I’m concerned about getting the truth. I don’t target individuals, target individuals. I target the truth.

CHUCK TODD:

You don’t? You’re targeting Hunter Biden multiple times on this show, Senator.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

My concern — my — my —

CHUCK TODD:

You’re targeting an individual.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

Chuck, Chuck. My concern — you know, Chuck. You know, part of the problem, and this is pretty obvious to anybody watching this, is you don’t invite me on to interview me, you invite me on to argue with me. You know, I’m just trying to lay out the facts that certainly Senator Grassley and I uncovered. They were suppressed. They were censored. They interfered in the 2020 election. Conservatives understand that. Unfortunately, liberals in the media don’t. And that’s part of the things that — part of the reasons our politics are inflamed is we do not have an unbiased media. We don’t. It’s unfortunate. I’m all for free press.

CHUCK TODD:

Well, Senator —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

It needs to be more unbiased.

CHUCK TODD:

Senator, look, this is —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

There’s misinformation on both sides —

CHUCK TODD:

Look, go to partisan —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

— but the censorship and suppression —

CHUCK TODD:

Senator — Senator — look, we’re trying to do issues here and facts.

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

— primarily occurs on the left.

CHUCK TODD:

Partisan cable —

SEN. RON JOHNSON:

It’s frustrating.

CHUCK TODD:

Look, you can go back on your partisan cable cocoon and talk about media bias all you want. I understand it’s part of your identity.
