The uncertain status of Hallmark's biggest show

Yeah, it's been a while since I've brought up anything related to Hallmark. And since GAC news has been quiet lately, time to bring up the only thing about Hallmark that I still care about: Their longest running show.

WCTH Season 9 ended recently. Usually there's a renewal announcement before the finale, or immediately after. But, it's been very silent. No renewal announcement as of yet.

Hallmark recently released the delayed viewing numbers:

Looks like the typical PR spin to me. like, why release these numbers and still no announcement on Season 10?

Given the knarly state Hallmark is in (ratings for each of their new movies for last month for all terrible, and 1 had wokness sprinkled in it, and 1 had a gay man.), it's not a 100% possibility that Hallmark might just decide to ditch this show.

Here's a recent interview with 1 of the EP's of the show: (Source: https://heavy.com/entertainment/hallmark/when-calls-the-heart-plans-if-not-renewed/ )

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brian Bird, executive producer of “When Calls the Heart,” has made a big promise to fans after Hallmark still hasn’t renewed the series. In a recent interview, he told Hearties that one way or another, the series is going to continue.

Bird Promised that ‘Whether or Not’ Hallmark Keeps the Show, It Will Still Continue

In an interview with JLJ Media on YouTube following the season 9 finale, Bird promised that “When Calls the Heart” will continue, even if Hallmark doesn’t renew the series.

When Calls The Heart Aftershow: Season 9 Overview with Brian BirdExecutive Producer/Co Creator Brian Bird joins James and Marisa to talk about Hallmark Channels When Calls The Heart Season 9! #brianbird #hearties #whencallstheheart #hallmarkchannels2022-05-25T04:20:04Z

Bird said around 31 minutes into the interview:

I really don’t believe we’ve even peaked yet in this show with season nine. We will be around for a long time, I believe. Whether or not the Hallmark Channel wants to keep us around forever doesn’t matter. There will be somebody else who wants it because it is so unique. And we will keep making the show as long as those Hearties want to show up and watch the show.

He preceded his statement by talking about how fresh the show still is and how much its storylines are needed in today’s society.

“This show is a healing agent in the culture in my opinion, and I think that’s why so many people watch it,” he said. “To be the top scripted program on Sunday nights on cable tv in the last two or three seasons  — that’s happened every Sunday night. Once we started to beat the zombies, we never looked back. … I think we’re doing good work and we’re doing the right work on the show, but it’s not because of us, it’s that the audience is starved to death for this. And when you give people food, they will just love you, they’ll be so loyal to you. And that’s why the audience keeps coming back every Sunday night. Shows this deep into their lifespan can get old…and we’re not yet.”

‘We Get to Decide’ When the Series Is Over, Bird Said

Bird returned to the promise of the show continuing at about a little more than an hour into the interview.

“We don’t see the end of this show,” Bird insisted. “I don’t know when season 10 or if season 10 will be announced 100 percent, but all I’m saying is that we still feel like we’re going to go forward. And we will no matter what, I can tell you that… We haven’t decided that it’s over yet, and we get to decide… I’ll leave it at that.”

Bird is also executive producer of the “When Calls the Heart” spinoff, “When Hope Calls,” which takes place in the same universe as the parent series. While the spinoff started out at Hallmark, it was picked up by GAC Family for a second season after Hallmark dropped the show. GAC Family aired a two-part Christmas special for “When Hope Calls” in December, but it’s not clear if or when the rest of the season will air.

In a separate interview with “When Calls the Heart” fans, showrunner John Tinker said he would be shocked if the series wasn’t renewed.

“Not being coy, I haven’t heard anything [about a tenth season],” Tinker said. “But i would just be stunned, shocked, and amazed if this show weren’t picked up.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My take: I'm thinking there's already a back up plan in place for GAC Family to pick this show up if Hallmark decides to ditch it. This show has a huge fandom throughout social media, and they've been very vocal on Twitter about wanting Season 10.

Do I actually want WCTH to move? In a way, yeah. Season 9 was very clean, which is a huge win on this going-more-woke-at-a-fast-pace-network! Except for 1 uncomfortable scene involving 2 women who I couldn't tell were together together, or just 2 separate moms.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens next. Losing their longest running, not to mention highest rated throughout it's whole run show would be a huge blow to Hallmark, even bigger then losing their biggest money making actress! Will they actually try to fight for it? We'll see.

Today has been a bit of a waste. Here's tonight's news:

Clinton’s Plot Came Closer to Succeeding Than January 6 Ever Did

There’s only one rule in D.C. the Justice Dept consistently enforces—all laws and norms exist to preserve and extend the Democratic Party’s monopoly over key institutions.

Kevin Clinesmith must feel like an idiot for pleading guilty without a trial after a D.C.-area jury acquitted Clinton co-conspirator Michael Sussman for his role in the plot to frame Donald Trump for colluding with the Russians, supposedly to steal the 2016 election. Sussman’s D.C.-based jury which featured partisan Democrat donors rendered a quick “not-guilty” verdict. While the Left undoubtedly sees the acquittal as another “lawfare” victory against the bad orange man, that victory did not come without cost to its enabling allies.

First, the acquittal further reinforces the impression of a two-tiered justice system in which the politics and privilege of the accused determine the outcome. As Julie Kelly continues to show, the FBI, which played a central role in the plot to frame Trump, is now viewed by a majority of Republicans and a large minority of Democrats as, “the personal gestapo” of Joe Biden. If the FBI frames its political opponents, as it attempted to do with Trump, then it can’t expect potential witnesses and jurors to cooperate with or trust its agents.

Second, we know a little more about the Russia collusion hoax plot and are therefore better-armed against the next dirty trick. That’s something. Special Counsel John Durham did uncover a few new puzzle pieces to the Russia Collusion Hoax. When you fit in the new information with what we already know, one sees the scope of Hillary Clinton’s astonishingly brazen and undemocratic effort to reverse the 2016 election following Election Day. Unlike the January 6 event, which a politicized FBI and Justice Department pursued with partisan zeal, the Clinton plot came much closer to undoing an election.

As we long suspected, Clinton personally authorized a complex operation to frame Trump. The case against Sussman involved a relatively tangential subplot of the hoax—the allegation that Trump had a secret back-channel with a Russian bank. While she initially may have run the scheme to win the 2016 election, the effort quickly pivoted to a serious and nearly-successful attempt to overturn the 2016 election before Trump could assume office.

During the Sussman trial, former Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook testified that Clinton’s campaign directly asked Hillary Clinton to approve the dissemination of false accusations that the Trump campaign had a secret channel of communication through the Russian Alfa Bank. Clinton appears to have had the Trump-Russia hoax on her mind during the October 19, 2016 debate in which she directly accused Trump of being a puppet of Russia. Twelve days later, Slate published an article with the Alfa Bank story Clinton’s operatives had cooked up

But much of the juiciest material remained unused on the night Clinton lost to Trump. Although Clinton’s allies and operatives circulated the infamous Steele dossier as part of the Washington, D.C. whisper campaign in November 2016, the public remained unaware of Clinton’s most explosive claims—namely, that Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen paid Russian hackers for their election interference and that the Russians possessed video footage of Trump urging prostitutes to urinate on a Moscow hotel bed.

On December 12, 2016, a group of electors, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, wrote the director of national intelligence demanding a briefing on the Russia collusion accusation. The letter clearly indicated the purpose of the briefing, which was to change the votes of electors and deny Donald Trump the White House.

We intend to discharge our duties as Electors by ensuring that we select a candidate for president who, as our Founding Fathers envisioned, would be ‘endowed with the requisite qualifications,’” they wrote. “Accordingly, to fulfill our role as Electors, we seek an informed and unrestrained opportunity to fulfill our constitutional role leading up to December 19th—that is, the ability to investigate, discuss, and deliberate with our colleagues about whom to vote for in the Electoral College.”

Within the government, Clinton allies sought to append the Steele reporting directly to a national intelligence assessment. In particular, the FBI, a contributing agency, “sought to introduce a summary of the material from . . . Christopher Steele . . .”

Although Clinton kept secret her role in creating the Steele smears, her campaign made no secret of their desire to reverse the election using the Russia hoax. Clinton campaign figure John Podesta said, “The bipartisan electors’ letter raises very grave issues involving our national security . . . Electors have a solemn responsibility under the Constitution and we support their efforts to have their questions addressed.”

The plan to use the intelligence community (IC) to swing electors ultimately failed, but just barely. On December 18, just one day before the electors cast their votes, the director of national intelligence declined to provide the requested briefing. The final IC report was not published in time for the December 19 vote of electors and the appendix regarding the Steele dossier was kept from the public.

Nevertheless, Clinton came much closer to overturning the election than the January 6 protesters ever did. Clinton succeeded in capturing the FBI to lobby for the inclusion of her hoax in the official IC assessment. Even without the direct IC briefing to electors, the smear campaign succeeded in turning two Trump electors against their candidate. Had Clinton achieved her goal of getting the IC to directly sponsor the hoax to the electors, more defectors would have certainly followed.

Clinton, it now appears, will get away with it. Although she has now settled a complaint accusing her of illegally using campaign funds to pay for the hoax, the FEC charged her a mere $113,000 fine—a laughable pittance in comparison to the $1 billion raised for her campaign. Thus, one can add the FEC to the long list of politically-corrupt institutions which protected the plotters. There’s only one rule in D.C. the Justice Department consistently enforces—all laws and norms exist to preserve and extend the Democratic Party’s monopoly over key institutions. That’s why the 2016 plotters walk free while the January 6 defendants rot in jail without trial or bail.

China Moves to Buy a Major American News Outlet

Bonchie reporting for RedState

A Chinese-government-controlled company has put in an offer to buy Forbes, the major American news company that built its name on financial analysis.

According to the Free Beacon, Magnum Opus, the CCP-controlled company in question, announced its intent to acquire the property last August. Now, that deal looks to be nearing completion, and it’s drawing outrage from Republicans who are pointing out what a major security risk the move represents.

A Chinese-controlled firm’s bid to buy the Forbes media company poses a national security threat and would allow the Chinese Communist Party to push its propaganda by using one of the most recognizable American brand names, according to a group of Republican senators.

“Forbes is a recognizable American brand with immense propaganda value to the CCP,” Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.), Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), Ted Cruz (Texas), and Bill Cassidy (La.) wrote on May 24 to the Treasury Department, demanding the Biden administration launch an investigation into the proposed purchase. “The CCP’s direction of Forbes’ editorial content and business operations, or its access to Forbes’ financial and personal research, could present a serious national security threat to the United States.”

Frankly, I believe it’s insane that this is even being considered. No nation on earth survives, much less thrives, while selling itself to foreign adversaries. Yes, there is a unique risk in allowing the Chinese to control the news flow in a nation founded on free speech, but this goes beyond just that. Any Chinese investment in the United States poses a danger to the well-being and long-term security of the country. We shouldn’t be letting the Chinese buy up property, we shouldn’t let them buy American corporations, and we certainly shouldn’t let them buy American news outlets.

I understand the more libertarian among us will disagree, arguing that stopping China from expanding its influence in the US is somehow an incursion on the free market. I’d argue such ideals stop at the water’s edge. Imagine if Russia were trying to buy Forbes. Would anyone be fine with that? Or would the US government immediately step in to stop the acquisition? Given China is the far more dangerous adversary in the grand scheme of things, it should be treated with just as much scrutiny.

The next question is why only Republicans are speaking out on this. Are Democrats truly so beholden to the Chinese that they would find it acceptable to allow this to happen? That question is more rhetorical than anything at this point because we know that yes, they are that beholden. We’ve seen Joe Biden’s supportive attitude toward the CCP over the years, as well as his son’s financial connections, but he’s just one of many on the left side of the aisle that continue to treat China with kid gloves despite its aggression and human rights abuses.

China sees monetary power as its chief weapon against freedom in the world. We’ve seen the oppressive deals they’ve struck via the so-called “belt and road program” with poor African and South American nations in order to gain access to raw materials. Allowing the CCP to play the same influence-buying game in the United States is national suicide.

With all that said, will Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen step in? Don’t count on it. She’s become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Biden administration, whether talking about abortion, climate change, or anything else.

NEC Director Brian Deese Defends Policy as U.S. Economy Transitions Away from Oil and Gas to Windmills and Solar Power

Anytime you hear the code-word “transition”, what the explainers mean is the change from traditional oil, gas and fossil fuels to renewable energy and the Green New Deal.  The phrase “economic transition” is used to explain the economic collapse of Main Street that will happen during the switch.   Remember THE GOAL?  It has never changed.

National Economic Council Director Brian Deese, aka the U.S. version of Baghdad Bob, appears before several audiences today in an effort to use as many words as possible to explain the “transition,” without actually explaining the “transition.”  Why?  Because they don’t want the average person to know what the “transition” is all about…. Because if the average person knew what this “transition” is all about, then they might realize all of these massive increases in price are being done intentionally.   WATCH:

Again, you guys are going to get sick of me saying this…. BUT, the number one problem our country faces is that the vast majority of us are PRETENDING.

The White House is pretending the U.S. government does not have full control over what is happening in the economy.  The media are pretending not to know that the White House is avoiding admitting the agenda and economic pain is intentional and unavoidable.  The republican politicians are pretending the Biden economic transition program is because the White House is incompetent.  All of these -and so many more- are just pretenses.

What is being done by the government, in this decision to switch from an oil and gas economy into a wind and solar economy, is being done on purpose. Yes, everyone at every level of government, both political parties and every agency within it, and the entirety of the corporate media are pretending not to know this is the Green New Deal taking place.

We cannot confront or solve this stuff, until we -including media- stop pretending.  Brian Deese is Baghdad Bob.

I will not eat the bugs.

Civil War Explodes in the White House as the Rush to Absolve Joe Biden of All His Failures Commences

Bonchie reporting for RedState

For well over a year, the open civil war within the Democratic Party has been impossible to dismiss. There have been direct conflicts between the progressive caucus and the so-called “moderates” within the party, with the latter desperately trying to hang on in their swing districts.

Then there’s been the butting of heads between the vice president and her staff and the White House. RedState has reported on that extensively, noting that things have gotten so bad that Harris’ staffers have actually cried racism at times.

Yet, during that drama, the White House itself has appeared to remain resolute and united, typically coming to Biden’s defense at all times, seeking to deflect any and all blame for anything that occurs. The internal ceasefire has collapsed, though, and per a new report from NBC News, Biden is letting complaints about his handlers fly.

WASHINGTON — Faced with a worsening political predicament, President Joe Biden is pressing aides for a more compelling message and a sharper strategy while bristling at how they’ve tried to stifle the plain-speaking persona that has long been one of his most potent assets.

Biden is rattled by his sinking approval ratings and is looking to regain voters’ confidence that he can provide the sure-handed leadership he promised during the campaign, people close to the president say.

Before we get into the details here, I do want to point out how NBC News delivered this report. It is clearly written in a way to absolve Biden of his many self-inflicted failures, spending most of its time blaming his staff for all the administration’s ills. Because of that, it should be read for what it is, which is really just a litany of excuses being made for a mentally unfit president whose inability to lead is precisely why his handlers run the show.

With that out of the way, I couldn’t help but laugh at the assertion that Biden delivers “clear and succinct” statements, only to be undermined by a staff rushing to say he meant something else. I mean, come on. We are talking about Joe Biden here. Nothing he says is clear and succinct, and to suggest such is insulting to everyone’s intelligence.

Beyond policy, Biden is unhappy about a pattern that has developed inside the West Wing. He makes a clear and succinct statement — only to have aides rush to explain that he actually meant something else. The so-called clean-up campaign, he has told advisers, undermines him and smothers the authenticity that fueled his rise. Worse, it feeds a Republican talking point that he’s not fully in command.

Time and again, Biden’s handlers have rushed to clean up his messes because they are legitimate messes. Further, last time I checked, Biden is the President of the United States. He is not beholden to those in his comms shop. He could, at any time, order them to stop contradicting him if he truly felt he was in the right. I don’t think that’s what has been happening, though. Instead, I think NBC News is attempting to retroactively paint those prior corrections as nefarious when Biden likely agreed with them at the time. Presenting them as otherwise is just a convenient scapegoat as the administration continues to spiral out of control.

Past that, the report also mentions that Biden is furious he wasn’t told about the baby formula crisis sooner, with the claim being made that he was only briefed on it a month ago.

Biden is annoyed that he wasn’t alerted sooner about the baby formula shortage and that he got his first briefing in the past month, even though the crisis had long been in the making

One, I doubt that given how public the crisis has been for months, with news reports about it dating all the way back to January. Two, if that’s true, then why is Pete Buttigieg still Secretary of Transportation? It’s cowardly to complain about not being informed while not having the guts to actually punish someone for the supposed oversight.

But again, the overall goal of all of this is to absolve Biden of any blame for all the things he’s so epically screwed up without him having to actually be a leader and take action, including against those in his administration. That’s how you get paragraphs like this from “sources.”

“They came in with the most daunting set of challenges arguably since Franklin D. Roosevelt, only to then be hit by a perfect storm of crises, from Ukraine to inflation to the supply chain to baby formula,” said Chris Whipple, the author of a book about White House chiefs of staff who is now writing a book about the Biden presidency. “What’s next? Locusts?”

To be clear, the assertion that Biden’s plate has been uniquely and historically full is just nonsense. He came into office with COVID vaccines and a path out of the pandemic. The economy was also on the verge of booming, already in a strong recovery. Gas prices were low and the foreign policy situation was incredibly stable.

Essentially everything being brushed off as mere chance was self-inflicted. Biden had a chance to stop Russia in its tracks by launching crippling sanctions much earlier and not nuking US energy production, which only strengthened Vladimir Putin’s hand. The Afghanistan disaster was completely the president’s fault. Inflation was largely caused by the “American Rescue Plan,” a $2 trillion dollar, largely unnecessary spending bill that blew way too much “free” money into an already heated economy. Biden presiding over the doubling of gas prices is self-explanatory, and the war in Ukraine is only a fractional part of the issue.

In short, Biden is out of excuses. He is the problem. This rush to absolve him of all his failures is farcical, and no sudden shift in messaging is going to change the reality of what he has wrought. The solution isn’t different handlers. The solution is a different president.

Biden Is Furious That He's Below Trump in Polls but It Just Got Even Worse

Nick Arama reporting for RedState

As we noted earlier, Joe Biden is in a quandary as to how to change his sliding numbers. He’s frustrated even that his numbers are worse than those of President Donald Trump. As NBC noted, “He’s now lower than Trump, and he’s really twisted about it,” another person close to the White House said. He also thinks Democrats aren’t defending him enough.

Biden is supposedly upset that his people are undercutting him, but his people respond, “We don’t say anything that the president doesn’t want us to say.” In other words, what Biden is saying now — or what NBC is spreading out there to try to make him look better — just doesn’t add up.

That’s the problem when it comes to Biden; that’s why the polls are continuing to crash: because no one believes that Joe Biden knows what he is doing and they believe all the issues that we are having to deal with can be laid right in the lap of his confusion.

It isn’t getting any better for him.

The Civiqs poll just hit the basement on Biden: 34 percent.

Back in December, the poll was bad at 37 percent and only five states had Joe Biden overwater in approval.

Now, only three states have him above water in approval, with just Hawaii at majority approval level. He’s underwater even in California at 42/46.

Ed Morrissey of Hot Air notes how the numbers have changed since April in those critical states for the midterms. Note, Biden has even slipped in Delaware, his home state.

Arizona: 32/59, was 35/57
Colorado: 36/52, was 40/51
Connecticut: 38/50, was 42/48
Delaware(!): 35/53, was 38/54
Georgia: 31/58, was 33/57
Minnesota: 39/52, was 41/50
Ohio: 29/61, was 31/60
Oregon: 41/47, was 41/48
Nevada: 33/58, was 35/57
Virginia: 34/55, was 37/53
Washington state: 42/48, was 44/47

[….}

He’s still seen favorably by black voters overwhelmingly (75/17) and barely by Hispanic voters (48/45), but that’s it. Majorities in every age demo see Biden unfavorably on a personal basis. So do college and non-college voters except for post-grads, who still rank him slightly unfavorably too (46/48). A plurality of women (44/49) see Biden unfavorably, a death knell for Democrats in the midterms and in 2024 if Biden runs again. And again, only five states give Biden a favorable ranking, one of which — New York — is only 47/46 on Biden personally.

No wonder he and other Democrats are throwing tantrums when they look at the numbers. That’s a message for disaster and I’m not even sure he’s hit the bottom yet. As Joe has shown us, he always seems to find a way to go lower. That’s why I think the prediction from Cook Political Report of a pick-up in the House of 20-35 seats is very conservative and I’m inclined to think it’s going to be much higher, given all these other numbers. It’s not a wave, but a tsunami coming.

Uvalde -- the new face of policing

Article by J.R. Dunn in The American Thinker

Uvalde -- the new face of policing

Anyone shocked by the behavior of the Uvalde PD during last week’s mass shooting – in which dozens of officers milled around doing nothing (if not worse) while helpless victims were murdered – has to come to terms with the simple fact that this is the face of the new policing in the 21st century.

The story grows worse with each new detail. Cops took nearly twenty minutes to get to the school in a ten-minute-wide town. Once there, they entered the school, took some fire resulting in minor injuries, and fled – no Fallujah vets here. Outside, they harassed, attacked, and arrested fearful parents begging them to do their jobs. At some point, a number of off-duty Border Patrolmen arrived but were denied permission to engage. As many as eighteen locals finally entered the school, but their tac chief decided it had transformed into a “barricade situation,” which, according to the book, evidently means that no action is necessary, so instead they moped about in the hallway. At last, after an hour and a quarter – not forty-five minutes, not an hour – the Border cops took matters into their own hands (one of them armed with a shotgun he borrowed from his barber), burst into the room and finished the shooter off.

During that entire tract of time the gunman was executing children, which we know from the phone records of calls from within the classroom.

The DoJ has pledged to look into it – yes, that DoJ, which means we’re unlikely to get any useful answers. But the answer to the major question – Why? – is perfectly evident: it happened now because it happened before.

Some of us recall the summer of 2020, when Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, and several other cities were ravaged by anarchists and related trash while the cops, under orders from the various city halls, stood by and watched. It can’t be said that were defending nothing, because all the time they were defending something very important – their pensions.

Some of us can even recall the Parkland School shooting in Florida, when a misfit shot up a school while School Resource Officer Scot Peterson cowered under an outside stairwell and refused to go in. Chief Scott Israel spent the next several weeks blustering, accusing everybody under the sun except Peterson and himself. It didn’t save his job – or, presumably his pension.

But it goes back even further than that, and beyond school shootings. In Chesire, Connecticut on July 23, 2007, two felons decided to take down a well-to-do family under the impression that they were hiding riches galore in their home (an old story that goes back to the Clutters of In Cold Blood fame). After beating William Petit half to death, the goons, finding no money in the home, forced Jennifer Hawke-Petit to accompany one of them to the bank, where she withdrew $15,000. At the same time, she succeeded in alerting the teller.

Local cops arrived in good time only to be ordered to blockade the neighborhood and remain in place. There they sat for 45 minutes while their chief carefully assured that everything was being done exactly according to the book. (There’s that number again – 45 minutes – is that in the handbook too, I wonder?)

During that period Jennifer Hawke-Petit was raped and strangled. This proved a mercy, since it meant that she didn’t have to witness her two young daughters being soaked in gasoline and burned alive.

The cops can’t even be said to have captured the perps, who slammed into a patrol car while fleeing.

That was it. Nothing was done. Nobody was disciplined. No investigation was ever carried out. It just became, very quietly, the standard for current police operations, as we have seen in Seattle, Parkhurst, and Uvalde. No doubt the same has occurred elsewhere and has been slipped into the memory hole so that we peasants don’t become confused and ask questions.

But the United States is not Europe. We don’t sit and whimper when the elites let us down. Traditionally, the response to a collapse in public order has been Committees of Vigilance, long disparaged as “vigilantes.” It’s a curious fact that several of the most notable vigilance committees -- in San Francisco, 1857, Bannock, Montana, 1863, and Athens, Tennessee, 1946 – targeted corrupt law-enforcement.

It’s too much to say, as an acquaintance did, that “We’ve got the Second Amendment to shoot cops who refuse to rescue kids.” But Uvalde marks an inflection point. The next time will not be the same. Things will be very different -- and God help the cop who fails to get out of the way.

Leftist Celebrities Prove They Don't Understand Gun Rights, the Need for Guns, or Their Lack of Influence

Brandon Morse reporting for RedState

I thank the good Lord above that I’m not constantly surrounded by people who tell me I’m right and shower me with adoration on a constant basis. Sure, it’d be nice to get it every once in a while, but if I had it consistently I’d be many leftist celebrities who live in their own ideological bubble.

Case in point, the bubble really became apparent after the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting which the left began immediately using as a platform to push whatever their agenda was at the moment.

(READ: Beto O’Rourke Owes Uvalde an Apology)

Naturally, the ladies of “The View” would have an absolutely ridiculous take about it, but co-host Whoopi Goldberg didn’t just have one. She had several.

In one of the more unhinged rants she’s been on, Goldberg proceeded to tell viewers that they’re not allowed to have AR-15s anymore, why she thinks we own guns in the first place, and then encouraged viewers to go vote for the “right people.”

She started by saying the AR-15 “has got to go” due to the mass shootings they’ve been involved in, including Buffalo, New York. She also suggested that people still won’t go shopping anywhere because “nobody will bring a supermarket where these folks are living.”

I’m not sure what she meant by that, other than she’s saying no one will open up stores in these areas now because a shooting happened.

She continued by saying too many lives have been at stake, including children’s, then gave us the “do something” quote the left loves so much. That was when she turned her attention to what she knew was going to get an applause line from her crowd, and that’s bringing up the NRA. This was followed by Goldberg demonstrating her lack of knowledge about why we own firearms.

“I don’t care NRA, you got to give that gun up,” Goldberg said. “You can have your other ‘yee-haw’ guns, whatever you want. The AR-15 is not a hunting gun. It’s not a gun where you’re going to go out and shoot your dinner. This gun is meant to kill people. That’s what it’s for. And you can’t have it anymore. And I’m not even going to tell you how pissed I am so many folks are saying you can’t have what you need for your body, forget my body, you can’t have this gun because it kills people and children and I’m sick of it.”

Firstly, the NRA didn’t have anything to do with the shooting. Like it or dislike it, the NRA is not a mass shooter factory that gives out info on soft targets and distributes guns to the insane. Goldberg is, attempting to direct hate at the NRA because it’s a lightning rod to attract hatred against the right, which for a time, largely supported the NRA, though has lost quite a bit of its influence in the recent past due to internal controversies.

Secondly, she’s right, the gun is meant to kill people. While an AR-15 can be used to hunt, our firearms are our right to own in order to defend ourselves from that which may threaten us including our own government should it cease obeying its function as a constitutional republic. The founding fathers were pretty clear about that.

Thirdly…who does Goldberg think she is? We can’t have our own property anymore? Does she think that her influence goes that deep? Does she understand the implications of attempting to even begin confiscating these guns? Is she going to be the one that does it?

I doubt it. Judging by her unhinged little rant, I sincerely doubt that she understands how rights work, or the absolute monstrosity of a task it would be to repeal those rights and then go about confiscating them. I explain why it would be impossible in the video below.

Champions League: Macron wants 'full transparency' over chaos at final

French President Emmanuel Macron is calling for "full transparency" over the chaos that marred Saturday's Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool in Paris.

The match was delayed as Liverpool fans queued outside the stadium.

French police used tear gas and pepper spray on some supporters.

Authorities blamed ticket fraud and the sports minister said Liverpool had let fans "out in the wild". But Liverpool fans contested her version of events.

They blamed organisational failures, heavy-handed policing and overcrowding, while club chairman Tom Werner demanded an apology for minister Amélie Oudéa-Castera's comments.

Footballing sources told AFP that 2,800 fake tickets were detected at the stadium gates, while the French Football Federation alleged that some 35,000 people had shown up with fake tickets or with no tickets at all, causing disorder by blocking the gates.

Mathieu Valet, a spokesman for France's independent police commissioner's union (SICP) told the BBC that it was not fake tickets or ticketless supporters who were the main problem: "It's clear that we needed more police - we didn't have enough on the ground."

A French government spokeswoman said President Macron wanted the light "shone on what really happened, in full transparency, and very quickly".

She said he had full confidence in Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who is facing criticism over how police handled the crowds, while acknowledging the situation could have been handled better.

Mr Darmanin has said there was ticket fraud on "an industrial scale" and defended the police's conduct, saying their actions prevented deaths.

Mr Macron was reportedly "furious" with the interior minister. According to satirical weekly Le Canard Enchaîné, he found the events outside the Stade de France "shameful" and "unworthy of France".

Mr Darmanin and the sports minister are due to be grilled about the fiasco by the French Senate later on Tuesday. Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne was said to have discussed the issue when she met the interior minister on Tuesday.

Europe's football governing body Uefa has commissioned an independent report into what happened at the final.

The Liverpool chairman complained that "the Uefa Champions League final should be one of the finest spectacles in world sport, instead it devolved into one of the worst security collapses in recent memory".

Many fans said they had arrived at the stadium hours before kick-off but were barred from getting into the ground.

It has also emerged that supporters were targeted by local gangs, with reports of mobile phones being stolen and girls and young women being groped. Six people appeared in court on Tuesday after dozens of people were arrested.

Local Saint-Denis mayor Mathieu Hanotin has called for lessons to be learned ahead of the Paris Olympics in 2024. It was not just that tickets were in high demand but the event also became a lightning rod for local hooligans because "it smelled of money", he said.

"We cannot welcome the world in these conditions."
