But Biden’s theatrics aside, here’s why his speech was a huge embarrassment to the United States.
Joe Biden called America an “idea” tonight. The same thing the left have called Antifa.
But America isn’t an idea. It’s a nation. And nations require borders.
Biden never mentioned the border, tonight. Despite a triple-digit percentage rise in attempted illegal crossings under his presidency.
Even if America is an idea, it’s clear that Joe Biden is against it.
Biden’s speech was overwhelmingly disliked online, with a wild 2:1 ratio of people “disliking” the video on YouTube, and this comes despite YouTube stacking the decks in favor of the leftist president.
Not just that, but even the applause Biden got in the chamber was nowt but a smattering.
Maybe that goes to the fact that he only wanted a handful of people in Congress in attendance (despite them being tested and vaccinated), but it’s clear Biden’s speech was a flop, regardless.
Joe Biden made a lot of highfalutin claims on foreign policy tonight and even dared to mention Osama Bin Laden.
The only problem is, Biden has personally pursued quid-pro-quos around the world and even opposed the raid on Bin Laden’s compound.
We never thought we’d say this, but thank God Obama never listened to him.
Biden claimed January 6th was a worse event than Pearl Harbor, 9/11, Japanese internment, the Cold War, and more. He said it was literally the worst thing to happen to American democracy.
It’s a stupid claim, since most Americans now know January 6th was a handful of moron leftists rioting in amongst of hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters.
But Biden is relying on the fact that the left-corporate media will cover for him on this fact.
Joe Biden appears to have been the first president in an awfully long time to have been booed and jeered by some inside the chamber, despite having restricted access to his speech to sycophants.
Sure, pseudo-leaders like Kevin McCarthy got up and perfunctorily clapped at the designated points in the speech, but as he concluded, Joe Biden received audible jeers from the crowd.
Maybe they were against what he said. There was plenty to object to. Maybe they were against the way he said it. He’s super weird, after all.
But no one could have rated this speech about a 5.5 out of 10, on either side. And it goes to the heart of how Americans feel about Joe Biden.
They’re just not that into him.
When President Joe Biden steps to the microphone in the House chamber on Wednesday night for his first joint session address, his focus will be on what he feels he’s achieved, such as slowing the coronavirus spread, in his nearly first 100 days and his plans to build on that success. And rightly so.
But for half of that chamber, the focus will be on his unexpected skip to the left, his failure to make any attempt at the national unity he promised, his tax-and-spend agenda, and the catastrophe at the U.S.-Mexico border.
“He promised unity but has delivered partisanship. He failed to fully reopen schools for America’s public school students but has opened our borders to illegal immigrants. He has killed thousands of American jobs through crushing regulations while reviving the radical Green New Deal and other extreme climate policies,” said Rep. James Comer, the Kentucky Republican and ranking member on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.
“Simply put, we’ve gone from ‘America First’ to ‘America Last’ under President Biden,” said Comer, who has targeted at least seven Biden initiatives for investigations.
To back up that claim, Comer’s team has drawn up a list of Biden’s missteps and failures in the new president’s first three months, heavy on the border flubs.
“President Biden’s first 100 days have been marked by 100 failures,” he said.
Of course, Team Biden, the media, and Democrats see a list of only achievements. White House chief of staff Ron Klain tweeted out a headline that compared the president to Franklin D. Roosevelt, and a top MSNBC contributor showed a timeline of wins on his Twitter account.
Highlights of Comer's list, however, show how left Biden has gone, especially in raising taxes, spending, expanding abortion, endorsing making the city of Washington, D.C. a state, adding regulations, broadening Obamacare, and even providing “$570 million for additional paid leave to federal employees so they can watch their kids Zoom into school.”
Nearly a third of Comer’s list touches on the border crisis, a potential political sore that is angering more and more people, according to polls.
At No. 1 is probably Biden’s biggest failure: “Promised unity but has only pushed for a partisan, progressive agenda.”
Pollster Bill McInturff noted that the partisan gap under Biden is higher than ever.
Still, Comer said the GOP would like to work with Biden — up to a point. “Republicans stand ready to work with President Biden to reopen schools, get Americans back to work, restore our economy, and implement deterrence solutions to end the border crisis, but he must abandon the progressive agenda that has America on the path to the socialist utopia the ‘Squad’ dreams about. America is not a socialist country, and President Biden’s extreme agenda must be stopped," he said.

Almost all of the largest cities in the United States are governed by hard-left Democrats. In fact, there is only one Republican mayor among the top 15 cities in the country and only three among the 30 largest cities.
All of the problems in our urban areas today are almost exclusively the result of the failed Democratic Party leadership. While previous generations of Democrats might have tried to find bipartisan solutions to longstanding problems, the party's leaders in 2021 are woke leftists interested only in pushing their radical agenda.
The result has been outmigration, soaring crime rates, a drug epidemic, broken families, failing public schools, an increasing number of blighted properties, high poverty and unemployment rates, an obsession with a race-based agenda, and rising antipathy toward law enforcement officers. No wonder people are fleeing our cities in hopes of finding safety and a better quality of life.
Recent headlines show the absolute, ongoing destruction. In New Orleans, there was another shooting early Saturday morning on Bourbon Street, in the French Quarter, the city's premier tourist destination. In this case, five people were shot. Sadly, this type of carnage is becoming a regular occurrence in the Crescent City. New Orleans is suffering from a shortage of police officers and an abundance of criminals.
In Philadelphia, police department leaders are lamenting a shortage of officers as few new recruits are coming forward to replace the large number of retirements. Currently, the department is already understaffed, and the problem will only grow worse.
In Los Angeles, crime is skyrocketing while George Gascon, the new woke district attorney, is pledging to dismantle his office's Hardcore Gang Division. This decision is baffling to many citizens, as statistics show that gang violence has contributed to approximately 60% of the murders in the first 110 days of the year.
Portland, Oregon has been a cesspool of rioting and looting ever since the death of George Floyd made national headlines last Memorial Day. Incredibly, it has never stopped. Last weekend, stores were set ablaze and burglarized. On Friday, a large mob of anarchists spray-painted storefronts with graffiti, broke windows, and terrorized diners in a restaurant.
After the latest incidents, the far-left mayor of Portland, Ted Wheeler, asked citizens to "call the police" if they see protesters "dressed in all black." It is much too little, much too late for Wheeler, who has been punched and ridiculed by Antifa-affiliated thugs. He has not been able to enjoy a meal in a restaurant or even live peacefully at his home. Protesters, dressed in black, staged a sit-in at Wheeler's condo building and even hurled "bags of rubbish" and other objects at him as he was walking down the street.
The chaos is also continuing in Seattle, the epicenter of Antifa-related violence. In this city, the far left created an autonomous zone, attacked a police precinct headquarters, and basically declared war on law abiding citizens. The craziness never stopped due to incompetent and fearful leadership.
This week, Motion Church, based just south of Seattle, was forced to cancel a speech by Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA. After the speech was announced, a Seattle Antifa organization threatened to destroy the church.
This threat forced the church's Pastor, Roger Archer, to make his decision. According to Archer, "cops don't have the manpower to protect the several properties used by the church." He claimed, "The soft targets of churches, the elderly, women, children, and law-abiding citizens are vulnerable to anarchists who live free of the fear of reprisal."
Archer also correctly noted, "What recent history has taught us is there's an apparent lack of interest at the state level of leadership to protect decent, taxpaying citizens. Those terrorist mobs know that there is no consequence for their lawlessness. They have nothing to lose and nothing to fear."
Archer is right: while the FBI and Department of Justice are busy arresting and prosecuting all the individuals who entered the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, there have been few, if any, repercussions for those involved in approximately 275 riots that have occurred in Seattle and other cities across the country since last summer.
Americans can thank the woke mayors and the woke Department of Justice for contributing to the anarchy and destruction on the streets of America's cities.
This is especially true in New York City, led by hopelessly left-wing Mayor Bill de Blasio. During his tenure, New York is being decimated by not only the pandemic, but also rising crime. In 2020, shootings increased by almost 100%, while murders increased by 44%.
One factor in this increase is that New York police officers do not feel any support from the mayor. There have been multiple incidents, many captured on video, of police officers being viciously attacked by criminals, who face almost no penalties for their actions.
It is no surprise that in 2020, an astounding 5,300 police officers retired or quit. This is a 75% increase from 2019. As more police officers leave, the crime rate will continue to rise, and taxpayers and business will continue to flee. In response, Mayor de Blasio has continued to pander to the far left and failed to address the concerns of police and terrified citizens.
In Minneapolis, weak, woke leftist Mayor Jacob Frey has turned over his city to protesters demanding "justice for George Floyd." However, the no-go zone created near the intersection where Floyd died has seen an enormous reduction in customers, mostly hurting local black American business-owners.
One area restaurant proprietor, Alexander W., told the New York Post that city leaders "left me in danger." He said, "They locked us up ... left us behind ... left me with no food, no water, nothing to eat."
Hopefully, the citizens in these woke hellholes will eventually realize that the best way to improve their plight will be to stop voting for Democratic Party politicians, who deliver only poverty; misery; violence; and, ultimately, failure.

Comrades, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), also known as the U.S. Ministry of COVID compliance, has released new guidelines for outdoor expressions of liberty and freedom. [SEE GUIDELINES HERE] Within the guidelines vaccinated people are now permitted to engage in activity without masks. However, non-compliant citizens -those who refuse the non FDA approved emergency vaccination- are still required to wear masks. [LINK]
Thus, the CDC ministry is now establishing a new protocol to divide the American citizenry. Two classes of individuals: vaccinated -vs- non vaccinated.
Vaccinated people will be permitted greater freedom; and may -depending on checkpoints unregulated (so far) by government officials- engage in conduct according to rules created by multinational corporations. Compliant citizens will have access to venues, services and freedom based on the arbitrary rules of the state and business.
Non-Vaccinated, non-compliant citizens, are considered subversive to the interests of the state, and will -again as determined by private corporations and government officials- be barred from engagement in some activity. The freedom fulcrum is being moved right in front of our eyes and the majority of U.S. citizens are seemingly oblivious to it.
Comrade dissidents, this should not come as a surprise. Factually, CTH has been saying this is the intent of the leftist division in the United States for well over a decade. I even asked readers in May of 2011 which choice will they make because CTH anticipated THIS is exactly where we would be. While we did not know the mechanism, we did know the goal.

Imagine a neighbor or coworker asking whether you’ve had some medical procedure or treatment. Had your prostate exam yet? Gotten a pap smear? How’s your BMI doing? How about that HPV shot?
Obviously, no normal person would do that because it would be shockingly rude and inappropriate. Yet for some reason a surprising number of people think it’s perfectly okay to ask their neighbors and coworkers whether they’ve gotten a COVID-19 vaccine.
Even worse, employers and school administrators seem to think it’s okay to ask subordinates and students about their “vaccine status.” Indeed, a growing number of colleges and universities, including major public university systems like the University of California and California State University, as well as Maryland’s state university system, are planning to impose vaccine mandates on all students, staff, and faculty for the fall term.
Don’t want to get the vaccine? You better have a good reason — and you better be prepared to tell your employer or school all about it.
Some might say that asking about or even mandating a COVID-19 vaccine is okay because there’s a public health concern. We want to control the spread of the coronavirus, don’t we? No one’s going to ask you about your prostate exam because prostate cancer isn’t communicable but coronavirus very much is, so asking about it, or even mandating a vaccine, is fair game.
Well, not so fast. Historically, vaccine mandates in America have been rare and localized. We’ve never had a national vaccine mandate, not even for diseases like polio and smallpox. Sure, some leftists like Obamacare architect Ezekiel Emanuel wants very badly to impose a national vaccine mandate, as he argued last week in The New York Times. He’d like to see tens of millions of vaccine-hesitant Americans forcibly vaccinated, as well as all schoolchildren, with no “religious or philosophical exemptions” allowed.
Then again, Emanuel also thinks everyone should want to die at age 75 — he’s 63, only 12 years left! — so his views are not exactly representative.
But leaving aside radicals like Emanuel, what about ordinary Americans who think they have a right to know who’s been vaccinated and who hasn’t? First, we need to start thinking about what these new COVID-19 vaccines really are: they aren’t traditional vaccines and could be reasonably described as new medical treatments.
Traditional vaccines, like for the seasonal flu, involve injecting a weakened version of a virus to stimulate the body’s natural production of antibodies against it. But the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines use a novel mRNA technology that delivers genetic information directly to the body’s cells, instructing them to make proteins associated with COVID-19 so that they can recognize the virus and develop antibodies to fight it.
It’s impressive technology, but also extremely new and relatively untested. Usually, vaccines go through years of clinical trials before they get FDA approval, but not this time. The COVID-19 vaccines went through months, not years, of trials, which is one reason they only have “emergency use” authorization from the FDA, which had never before approved an mRNA vaccine.
So it’s not crazy to be hesitant about taking one of these new vaccines. Their long-term effects are as yet unknown, as are their effects on pregnant women and fertility. Indeed, there were no pregnant women involved in the clinical trials for either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, and Pfizer only announced in February that it’s planning to run a mass clinical trial with pregnant women, the results of which won’t be in until January 2023.
Concern about the effects on fertility and pregnancy isn’t some crazy conspiracy theory. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) itself states that “there are currently limited data on the safety of COVID-19 vaccines in pregnant people,” and that, “We need to continue to follow pregnancies long-term to understand effects on pregnancy and infants.” So it’s understandable that pregnant women or couples hoping to conceive might have qualms about getting these shots.
What’s not understandable is that anyone should be expected to explain all of this to an employer. Imagine a male boss asking a female subordinate whether and when she’s going to get a COVID vaccine, potentially putting her in the awkward position of having to divulge very private, sensitive medical information.
It would be a massive invasion of privacy, and in any other context would earn that boss a justified slap across the face. It also might bias employers against vaccine-hesitant employees or pose barriers for advancement — for example, in firms that require employees to be vaccinated before traveling for work.
Simply put, though, your boss has no right to ask you why you haven’t yet gotten any medical treatment, let alone a novel therapy that might have long-term consequences for your ability to start a family. No one should have to answer those questions from an employer, any more than they should have to answer any other private medical question. It’s none of your boss’s business, period.
For those who want to justify such crass invasions of privacy on the grounds that they’re just trying to “slow the spread,” they should pay attention to the science and data we have after more than a year of this pandemic. Coronavirus cases are now plummeting nationwide, partly because of vaccinations, partly because strategies to contain the virus appear to be working, as do better treatment strategies for those who do get sick, and partly because a great many Americans (perhaps more than half) obviously have some immune protection.
We know that COVID-related deaths have been steadily declining since January, as have hospitalizations. We know that the vast majority of those who have died from COVID-19 are over the age of 65 and have pre-existing comorbidities, which substantially weakens the case for forcibly vaccinating all schoolchildren or forcing all colleges and universities to mandate vaccines. We know all this, yet many Americans, including people in positions of power, are still acting as if everyone is equally at risk from coronavirus, or that masks are still necessary for people who have been fully vaccinated.
Vaccinated people who feel it’s their right to pry into the medical decisions of others, and justify it with the argument that they don’t want to get infected from an unvaccinated person, should pause to consider that their chances of getting sick from COVID-19 after being vaccinated are extremely low. Last week, the CDC said that of the 78 million Americans who at the time had been vaccinated (the number is now about 96 million) only 5,800 had subsequently caught COVID-19, or about 0.007 percent. Of those, 74 died, or about 0.00009 percent.
If you’re worried that you have a 0.007 percent chance of getting COVID-19, or a 0.00009 percent chance of dying from it, and therefore you think you have a right to ask everyone around you if they’ve been vaccinated, well, I don’t know what to tell you. Follow the science, for one thing. Also, maybe just stay away from me.
In any case, don’t ask me if I’ve been vaccinated. It’s rude.
The CDC recently released a guide showing you when to wear a mask for indoor and outdoor activities. It was a reckless, irresponsible thing to do since it depicted some outdoor activities in which it's ok for vaccinated people to not wear a mask. This is literally murder. We here at the Babylon Bee have created a much safer guide that will help you make the right decisions because, unlike the CDC, we actually care about people.

And Congress' saying that D.C. is a state would equally contradict truth and reality, as our nation's capital lacks all of the attributes of a 51st state of the Union.
Whence came our capital of Washington, D.C.?
The city was carved out of Maryland and Virginia in 1790, which voted to cede 100 square miles on the Potomac for a capital city of the United States to become the domicile of the federal government.
In 1846, Virginia's share of the land, some 32 square miles, was ceded back. What was left was today's Washington, D.C., of 68 square miles.
Is that sufficient for a state of the Union? Only if one wishes to change the character and composition of that Union.
Consider. The smallest state for 230 years has been Rhode Island. At 1,214 square miles, it is still 18 times as large as D.C. If D.C. were to become a state, it would be a microstate, smaller than every one of the 24 remaining counties of the state, Maryland, from which it was carved.
The Maryland counties that border D.C., Montgomery and Prince George's, are eight times the size of Washington, D.C., and each has a million people, dwarfing the 700,000 residents of D.C.
Directly across the Potomac in Virginia is Fairfax County, also eight times as large as D.C., and with hundreds of thousands more people.
Supporters of statehood say D.C. has more people than Wyoming.
True, but Wyoming is also roughly the size of the United Kingdom, and more than 1,000 times the size of Washington, D.C.
Even by the standards of American cities, Washington ranks no higher than 20th in population.
Texas — with Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Fort Worth — and California — with Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego and San Francisco — both have four cities larger and more populous than our aspiring city-state of D.C.
By the terms of its admission to the United States as a state, the Republic of Texas was ceded a right to split into as many as five states of the Union, which it was joining. FDR's future vice president, the Texan John Nance "Cactus Jack" Garner, was all for it.
"An area twice as large and rapidly becoming as populous as New England should have at least ten Senators," Garner told The New York Times in April 1921, "and the only way we can get them is to make five States, not five small States, mind you, but five great States."
Statehood for little D.C. could start a trend where mega-cities like Chicago and New York, with five and 10 times the size and population of D.C., secede from their respective states and seek full statehood as well.
What is at the root of this drive to make D.C. a state?
The answer may be found in the political character of our capital city.
Since the 23rd Amendment was ratified, 60 years ago, D.C. residents have voted in 15 presidential elections. In all 15 elections, D.C.'s three electoral votes have gone to the Democratic nominee.
Even in the 49-state Nixon and Reagan landslides of 1972 and 1984, D.C. went four- and five-to-one Democratic. In eight presidential elections since 1990, the GOP nominee has failed to win 10% of the D.C. vote.
Since the mid-1970s, D.C. has had home rule and, in every election since, has chosen a Democratic mayor and a Democratic city council.
How irredeemably Democratic is D.C.?
Voter registration statistics in the city as of last December was 403,000 Democrats and 30,000 Republicans, a ratio of 13-1.
Which brings the question: What is D.C.'s grievance that America must somehow rectify by making it a state?
Answer: Democrats want D.C. to have two senators to cement their control of the U.S. Senate, as they pack the Supreme Court by expanding the number of justices from nine to 13.
This is a naked national power grab — pure and simple.
If the real concern were the inability of the D.C. electorate to vote for members of Congress, that could be remedied — by returning the residential portions of D.C. to Maryland, whence they came, or by allowing D.C. residents to vote in Maryland's congressional elections.
Making D.C. a state would send two Democrats to the Senate indefinitely. But it would violate the constitution and compact under which the nation was founded. And it would start a stampede for other disfiguring alterations, like packing the Supreme Court by adding four new justices.
Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and American Samoa could soon follow and enter claims to become states of the American Union.
And a second unraveling of the republic would begin.

A new poll suggests Americans maintain minimal confidence in the leadership capabilities of Vice President Kamala Harris, and view her as unqualified to take over the responsibilities of the president.
The Rasmussen poll released on Monday found 41 percent of respondents view Harris as “not at all qualified” to be president, and nine percent of respondents said Harris is “not very qualified.” 1,000 likely voters were polled.
Among Republicans, 74 percent polled said Harris is unqualified to be commander-in-chief. Independents also showed distrust in the vice president’s abilities to potentially step up to the plate, with 48 percent saying Harris is “not at all qualified” and 12 percent saying Harris is “not very qualified.” A slimmer number of Democrats said the same — with 18 percent saying she is unqualified and 15 percent saying she is “not at all qualified.”
Harris scored high marks with three demographics: blacks, individuals under 40, and elites making $200,000 or more a year; 62 percent of blacks, 64 percent of those under 40, and 54 percent of the high-earners view Harris as favorable. On the flip-side, 55 percent of those 65 and older held an unfavorable view of Harris, in addition to 42 percent of white voters, and a majority of middle-income voters.

Interestingly, a Rasmussen poll last August found that 59 percent of voters, as well as 49 percent of Democrats, did not think President Biden would serve a full four years if elected. Biden, 78, is the oldest president to assume office in U.S. history.
