A horrific crime as two black teenage girls in Washington DC are charged with murder following their attack on an Uber-eats driver. The event was caught on camera by a bystander. They assaulted 66-year old Mohammad Anwar with a stun gun and then proceeded to steal his car while he tried to stop them.
(Via New York Post) Two teenage girls were charged with murder Wednesday in the death of an Uber Eats driver who they allegedly carjacked and assaulted with a stun gun in Washington, DC, a new report said.
The suspects, ages 13 and 15, are accused of attacking the 66-year-old driver, Mohammad Anwar, inside his car on Tuesday as he was driving near Nationals Park in the southeast section of the city, NBC Washington reported.
Anwar’s gray sedan crashed and flipped on its side during the attempted robbery, the report said.
The victim was found by police on the sidewalk. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but could not be saved.
The two girls were pulled from the wreck by two National Guard troops who were in the area, according to the station. They were arrested at the scene. The suspects are charged with murder and carjacking. (read more)
If you’re not worried about the military, you’re not paying attention
I
know that some of you are unhappy with Tucker Carlson because of his
response to events surrounding the election. If you’re still not
watching him, you may be cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Tucker is currently one of the few prominent people to call out the
dangerous insanity of the Biden administration’s obsessive focus on
social justice (read: anti-white racism), especially in the United
States military. Tucker was at it again Friday night, with a truly
terrifying look at the priorities in the American military.
The
military’s slide into being a social justice experiment has been a bee
in my bonnet for a long time. After five years in office, Obama had fired 197 officers.
Many of them may have been righteous firings. Any government agency
becomes sclerotic, and people who would have been fired in the private
sector manage to continue forever in the bureaucracy – and the Pentagon,
in addition to being the nerve center of our national defense, is also a
gigantic bureaucracy.
However,
many believed that Obama’s firings were driven less by the need to
create a leaner, more efficient bureaucracy, and more by the desire to
get rid of people who were not on board with Obama’s increasingly
hard-left politics. Even if that wasn’t Obama’s goal, there’s no doubt
that, even before Biden became Commander in Chief, the Pentagon had
become a leftist institution.
I won’t belabor the point here (the virtue of these posts is that they’re short), but I did belabor that point in 2019 here and here. As the second link shows, I wasn’t the only one with this concern. Sundance, at Conservative Treehouse,
also suspected that the military officer class that Obama had created
during his eight years in office wasn’t averse to a soft coup against a
sitting president whose policies the woke officers disliked.
All
of which gets me to Tucker Carlson. He’s been in the vanguard of
highlighting how, that even as China keeps expanding its military,
including its weapons, the Biden Pentagon is obsessed with racism,
gender, and sexual orientation. When Biden boasted about maternity
flight suits, Tucker pointed out that this might have been a lesser issue than, say, combat readiness. The newly woke military pounced, and Tucker then eviscerated it.
Tucker
was back on Friday night with more concerns about the newly woke
military. He explained that it’s no longer necessary to try to read the
tea leaves to discern whether the Pentagon’s officer class (which is
made up of the same college grads who have turned every other American
institution into a progressive bastion) has unleashed progressivism on
the military. Just go to the home page
of the United States Special Operations Command (e.g., SEALS, Delta
Force, Green Berets, etc.), and you’ll see this announcement about its
Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan:
That Plan coincides with the appointment of a new “Chief of Diversity & Inclusion,” a non-military bureaucrat:
USSOCOM welcomes our new Chief of Diversity & Inclusion, Mr. Richard Torres-Estrada. We look forward to his contribution in enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of #SOF through diversity of talent, helping us recruit the best of the best. #QuietProfessionalspic.twitter.com/Z6aJnz91mx
As
a government employee, he’s technically supposed to be non-partisan –
and never more so than when working for the United States military. Yet
there are some very interesting finds on his Facebook page.
An attack on Ted Cruz:
A classic “cute” Marxist cartoon demanding government-imposed “equity” rather than equality:
A crude, blatant attack on Trump:
An attack on Trump so fake that even Facebook had to challenge it:
An anti-police BLM meme:
And
then – surprise! -- there’s this image, which shows that somewhere,
deep inside his NeverTrump, social justice, highly woke, bureaucratic
soul, he vaguely understands that leftism is indecent and wrong:
Frankly,
Torres-Estrada’s Facebook page leaves me with the impression that he’s
like all the leftists I lived with (heck, that I once was) for so many
decades: A nice guy, a family man, a hard worker, and someone whose
values are slowly being destroyed by the relentless pressure to accept
that progressivism is part of being a “good” person.
Anyway,
here’s Tucker on the terrible damage that Torres-Estrada is doing to our
Special Forces simply by being appointed as a Diversity and Inclusion
Officer, a leftist position that's destroying one American corporation
and institution after another, and that has no place in a top-flight
fighting force:
In an age when Americans have grown used to casually shrugging away their freedoms at the whim of TV pundits, this kind of propaganda is seriously dangerous.
Open The New York Times’ politics page Thursday morning and the top headline reads, “Democrats Begin Push For Biggest Expansion In Voting Since 1960s.” It’s a story about the most important election power-grab in modern legislative history, with a slim, partisan majority of senators seeking to wrest control of elections away from state governments to ensure Democrat control for decades to come.
For starters, H.R. 1 will ban voter ID requirements, mandate early voting windows, allow outside activist groups to deliver votes for counting, do away with notarized absentee ballots, force states to accept absentees for 10 days after an election is over, narrow the Federal Election Commission by one member to allow for partisan control, mandate counting illegal aliens in voting districts, allow the IRS to investigate non-profits’ political ideas, and make it nearly impossible to sue over the new rules.
In short, it’s a story about Democrats aiming to seize massive power over how elections are run. Of course, you wouldn’t get any of that information from The New York Times headline or copy. In fact, funny enough, the second story on The New York Times’ politics page Thursday morning was the one headlined, “Republicans Aim To Seize More Power Over How Elections Are Run.”
That one’s a story about Republicans working to pull control of the elections back from judges and officials’ extra-legislative “emergency rules” and rulings. The moves, the story reports with a straight face, are “threatening the fairness that is the bedrock of American democracy.”
Reasonable people can disagree on if they think the Democrats or Republicans are right or wrong in their different initiatives, but the stark difference between these two top news headlines is glaring — and not too long ago would have been deeply embarrassing to any serious news editor.
Meanwhile, over at Axios, the news sites’ two co-founderswrotean article about President Joe Biden’s plan to “re-engineer America quickly.” At a closed-door White House meeting, they report, “the historians” agreed with the presidents’ thinking that, “It is time to go even bigger and faster than anyone expected. If that means chucking the filibuster and bipartisanship, so be it.”
There’s virtually zero skepticism in their reporting. Instead, in the condescending little “Why It Matters” breakdown, readers are treated to how bold and historic this massive left-wing power-grab will be. “[Biden] won’t rub [Republicans’] noses in it,” they write, predicting instead that he is on his way to becoming a modern President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
The intensity with which these outlets simply spewed Democratic propaganda Thursday morning was shameless. While this is no longer unusual, in an age when Americans from coast to coast have grown used to casually shrugging away their freedoms at the whim of a television doctor and his political allies, this kind of propaganda is seriously dangerous.
For the past year here in Washington, D.C., as well as in cities and states across the country, we’ve been told not to gather with our friends, neighbors, and family, not to worship God with our parishes, and not to visit our sick or elderly loved ones. We’ve even been told not to admire outdoor beauty, with the National Park Service’s Tuesday announcement that they will be choking off the number of people permitted to admire the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin this spring.
Except that last one is true. The problem, of course, is while corporate media were excited to scream it from the rooftops during President Donald Trump’s four years in office, at a time the most powerful people in the country are insisting the truth is a lie and their lies are the truth, many of our best-known reporters are not merely absent, they’re complicit.
Thursday afternoon, when the president took questions for the first time in more than nine weeks, PBS’s Yamiche Alcindor, for example, asked how the president deals with the tension of attracting ungovernable masses of illegal immigrants to the border after being “elected as a moral, decent man.” Instead of rolling their eyes, two more reporters referentially played off her questions.
Will Biden run for re-election in four years, another reporter queried. Will Vice President Kamala Harris be his running mate? Why isn’t he moving faster to smash the tools designed to protect the Senate’s minority party?
“How far,” AP’s Zeke Miller asked at the top of the presser, “are you willing to go to achieve those promises that you made to the American people?”
We already know the answer to that question because the Democratic Party has made it abundantly clear they will go as far as they physically can. They will come into our schools, they come into our churches, they will come into our social media, our place of employment, our private company, our home, and our family.
The real question is: How far will we let them come? Because no one else is going to stand up for us.
Suburban Wine Moms love Emperor Joe Biden’s news clothes.
America’s enemies on the other hand saw a naked, confused old man.
The media’s slobbering propaganda over Biden’s embarrassing press conference has the same specific target audience as 99% of their election coverage did: The Suburban Wine Moms.
This is hardly surprising. When the American news media responds like over-indulgent pageant moms every time Joe Biden manages to get through a public event without soiling his pants, the only people who would buy what they’re selling are the pageant moms’ cycle sisters, the suburban wine moms.
I confess, I couldn’t watch the entirety of Joe Biden’s carefully-choreographed press conference. Having Lupus makes repeated cringing painful. It was bad enough just watching the clips from it.
But to hear the way the media responded to that cringe-inducing event, Joe Biden really hit it out of the park! Yes, sir. Take that, you right wing conspiracy theorists who say Joe Biden is mentally slipping! He was sharp as a tack and in command of the facts!
NBC “Senior National Political Reporter:”
Oh, Jonathan. Old Joe couldn’t score a hit in T-ball. Come on, man!
Washington Post columnist:
Democracy dies in Dementia.
Now, this particular modern-day version of The Emperor’s New Clothes might convince the suburban wine moms who got the vapors over Trump’s tweets.
But America’s enemies, unlike suburban wine moms, aren’t taken in by the Biden Cheer Squad in the media. Because unlike wine moms, those guys are experts at propaganda.
China, Iran, North Korea, Qatar, Russia – they’re watching and they can see with their own two eyes the confused, meandering old coot at the podium. And let me tell you, they feel like they won the lottery. So all that gushing from the Washington Post or network and cable news “reporters” rolls off them like they’ve been Scotch-Guarded.
Hey, speaking of wine moms and cringing. Have you seen this video?
In the interests of full disclosure, I have yet to get through all one minute and forty-nine seconds of that – even after turning the sound off. For those of you who did make it to the end, please consult your doctor if the muscle spasms from cringing last more than four hours.
If you think this is a farcical depiction of your typical woke suburban wine mom, think again. They are real.
They start sentences with “Joy Behar said,” worship Anthony Facui, force their kids and husbands to wear matching Vineyard Vines masks, demand CRT be taught in schools, and take their kids to BLM rallies. They voted against Trump bc mean tweets. Trust me, I know this tribe.
On a related note, I like what Daily Malarkey writer Ian Prior calls suburban wine moms: “Chardonnay Antifa.” By the way, you should subscribe to the Daily Malarkey newsletter. Just go HERE and enter an email address to start getting your daily dose.
Anyroad.
There’s a reason the corporate news media and Big Tech want to silence alternative news sites and non-industry-approved journalists.
Propaganda only works when everybody is singing from the same hymnal.
We’ve gone from a free press that informs the public to a state media that actively seeks to keep the public from being informed.
It worked on the suburban wine moms in 2020. They fell for it hook, line and sinker.
America’s enemies may see the news media as useful idiots, but trust me, they don’t rely on the American news media to keep them informed. Mostly because they aren’t that gullible.
They believe their own eyes. And our gushing media notwithstanding, what they saw yesterday was a weak, decrepit, confused old man and an America ripe for the picking.
This has not exactly been a secret, if you have been paying attention for the last 8 months.
But Joe Biden’s performance in the press conference on Thursday — which took place ONLY because Democrat party-supporting media organizations had begun to question why he had not yet appeared in a press conference setting since the inaugural — confirmed the unspoken truth: that Joe Biden is only a prop, not the leader of the free world.
My RedState colleague Nick Arama did this story yesterday on photographs which captured the “cheat sheets” Biden had to use at the podium to assist him in picking the reporters he should call on — he only called on 10 — and in what order, as there were circled numbers next to their faces, and names on one of the sheets he had with him.
A second photograph captured some large-print, typed notes with introductory comments on various topics, which Biden read from while giving his answers.
CNN reports that only the following topics were the subject of the questions, and how much time was spent on each:
Immigration — 19 minutes
Filibuster — 12 minutes
China — 9 minutes
Infrastructure — 5 minutes
2024 Election — 4 minutes
National Security — 4 minutes
COVID Recovery — 3 minutes
Voting Rights — 3 minutes
Economy — 1 minute
Gun Control — 1 minute
Climate — 30 seconds
Over half the press conference, according to CNN, was spent on Immigration and the filibuster.
The immigration and border crisis is an issue which the Democrats understand hurts them badly at election time. On Wednesday, Biden announced that he was putting VP Harris in charge of the border problems, and not very much attention was paid to the fact that Dept. of Homeland Security Director Alejandro Mayorkas’ 60 days in his position have been a complete disaster on every level — as many predicted would be the case because Mayorkas is an idiot.
In a RedState VIP Live Chat on Wednesday night, there was some discussion of the idea that putting VP Harris in charge put a bullseye on her back, if the problem doesn’t get fixed soon.
I took a contrarian view — Harris is going to be applauded as a miracle worker when this problem is “solved” in the next 30 days or so. The solution to the problem is obvious and easy for the Biden Administration to implement — nothing more than a return to the policies of the Trump Administration. “Remain in Mexico” for asylum seekers, and hardline pressure on Mexico to combat the traffickers in the border cities, who are making millions of dollars herding migrants across the border, and closing Mexico’s southern border to migrants coming from Central America.
The press will look the other way regarding “how” and only focus on the fact that a solution has been found. They might even misreport that Harris created some fabulous, new policy solution on her own. The only people disappointed in such an approach are the Democrat-supporting interest groups who want more influx of migrants. The politicians and the media only care about getting a “Win” on the board.
“See, we fixed the broken system left to us by the Trump Administration, just like I said we would.” And Kamala will have proved her mettle for purposes of the 25th Amendment at the same time.
It’s a “Win-Win.”
Joe Biden is merely a prop being used by those who lead the Democrat party — elected officials and unelected bureaucrats. The decision-making is happening among a few senior White House officials, working in conjunction with Pelosi and Schumer on Capitol Hill and their key staffers.
Unelected Democrat Party officials appointed to various positions in the Biden White House — as well as some who have no formal government role at all — formulate policy, while Joe Biden’s presence maintains the facade that the American people are being led by the man they “elected” to be president.
But that’s a transparent farce — maybe the only thing about the Biden Administration that is transparent. The farce is being protected from scrutiny by the press. The press conference was a necessary near-term success for the White House staff — “If we can just get him through one press conference, we can come up with all kinds of excuses for why a second one can’t be done anytime soon.” The next, big test on a public stage difficult to manage will be the G7 Summit in London in June.
We should prepare ourselves for an announcement that VP Harris will be attending in person for the United States, standing in for Biden, due to some compelling reason that will only be disclosed at the 11th hour. Biden will participate via videoconference, which will allow his involvement to be managed. It has already been acknowledged that Biden has allowed Harris to conduct solo conversations with world leaders on behalf of the Administration. Having her attend the G7 will be another data point — another marker along the pathway to installing her as president.
Did I mention that a deliberate policy has been implemented — for the first time ever — to have all federal agencies identify the current Administration on their websites as the “Biden-Harris Administration”.
According to a report at Outspoken, “a top White House communications team member” has sent an email directing that official usage at all federal agencies include Vice President Kamala D. Harris.
“Please be sure to reference the current administration as the ‘Biden-Harris Administration’ in official public communications,” the directive reads.
According to Outspoken, its source worked for a “bipartisan” federal agency that deals with foreign relations but not affiliated with the State Department, which implies a broadening scope to the “naming Harris” practice. The websites of all 15 Cabinet-level executive departments already refer to the Biden-Harris administration.
Outspoken noted such other Harris-centric moves “to diminish Biden” as the official White House Twitter account reading “Welcome to the Biden-Harris White House!” “Neither of the @WhiteHouse Twitter accounts from the previous two administrations mentioned the vice president in the account’s description,” Outspoken wrote.
I expect that it will be foreign policy issues — and a demand from allies — that will lead to the final decision to make the switch. The Western-allied nations cannot be led by a U.S. President who can only join them by video screen, and who is unable to nimbly work through multilateral concerns and considerations in formulating U.S. foreign policy. They are going to want to hear about U.S. foreign policy from the person responsible for advocating U.S. foreign policy. If that isn’t Joe Biden, our Western allies have no reason to go along with the charade simply because it furthers the domestic political interests of the Democrat party.
At the same time, the Democrat party can’t risk having the South Koreans, Japanese, or Australians wondering about where their long-term strategic interests lie. If they are going to stand with the United States and against China, they aren’t going to want to be led by a character from a cast of “Weekend at Joe’s White House.”
It might seem obvious that the Democrats would want to get Biden to January 2023, which would mean that VP Harris would still have two full terms of eligibility to serve as president, should she be elected after Biden passes from the scene.
But I’m not so certain all factions of the Democrat party really want that. Harris is only 56 years old. She would be 62, if she were to win in 2024, and 66, if she were to win again in 2028. She would not leave office until January 2033. I’d be surprised if all factions of the Democrat party are enthusiastic about the idea of having Kamala Harris sitting atop the Democrat party establishment for that long, making it into whatever she wants it to be. This is, after all, a presidential candidate who had to drop out of the Democrat primary contest before a single vote was cast, because the Democrat electorate didn’t support her.
Joe Biden’s name might be on the door, but Joe Biden isn’t running the United States government in the sense that has always been assumed to be the case about the person elected to the office — since President Wilson, at least.
We are a nation now governed by a political party apparatus — a collection of apparatchiks and commissars.
The filibuster has always been a racist tool of white supremacy and oppression.
We just didn't say anything until now.
Along with the filibuster, we found nine OTHER things that are also racist, and we always considered them to be racist. We just didn't want to say anything until it was convenient.
Here they are:
1. The filibuster - We've covered this. But the filibuster is a tool of white supremacy, because it is hurting our chances to push our agenda. Really, anything that stands in our way is probably racist.
2. Having just nine seats on the Supreme Court - Anything short of having 156 seats, all Democrats, is racist.
3. Rice Krispies mascots Snap and Pop (but not Crackle) - Crackle seems alright. But those other two have always been a little sus.
4. The keto diet - The only people who ever post about doing keto are white women. So it's racist.
5. Opposing segregation - If you oppose segregated graduations, schools, or drinking fountains, you're a racist. It's always been this way. We just didn't speak up until this moment.
6. Zoom meetings - We must banish these forever because they're, uh, racist. That's it.
7. Asking for ID - Asking for ID for anything from voting to buying alcohol is racist. But not buying guns. That's just common sense.
8. Microsoft Zune - The Zune is racist and it's a good thing it was canceled. Though we do miss playing Hexic.
9. Schrödinger's cat - Simultaneously racist and not racist. We're not sure.
10. Having a dream that one day people will be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character - This is probably the most racist thing on this list.
Check these things out, and if you enjoy or even tolerate any of them, remember, the true racist was inside you all along.
Yesterday, Joe Biden did a press conference in which Fox News’ Peter Doocy was the only member of the major networks to not receive a question (see Joe Biden Shows He’s a Massive Coward at Today’s Press Conference). This follows a pattern going back to the campaign, with the now-president icing out the only reporter who might dare ask him something challenging.
Doocy did get a question at the regular press briefing with Jen Psaki today, though. He made the most of his opportunity. With Biden now signaling support for abolishing the filibuster, Doocy read the verbatim words of the president from 2005, in which he lauded the filibuster and opposed any tampering with it.
That left Psaki stammering, desperately trying to spin the hypocrisy. She did not succeed.
Psaki’s rebuttal was that the filibuster has somehow been abused only in the last few years, with there being 5 times as many filibusters on average now than during the 1970s. That’s misleading on its face. There were likely fewer bills being proposed in the 1970s. Regardless, it doesn’t change the fact that Biden was stumping for the filibuster in the not too distant past as a senator — clearly because he felt it benefited him and his party at the time.
Even more laughably, Psaki tried to claim that the last year’s frequent use of the filibuster is proof that it needs to go. Yet, she failed to mention that it was the Democrats who carried out every single one of those filibusters.
The virtue-signaling appeal to “being part of the solution” is simply code for “do what Democrats want.” That’s not how the game is played, nor should it be. Democrats obstructed everything Trump and the GOP tried to do for four years. They could have blown up the filibuster but they didn’t. Democrats now want to have it both ways, destroying a vestige of the Senate, while attempting to paint those opposed as somehow morally inferior — while at the same time defending their own support for the filibuster when it was convenient.
Regardless, if anyone was wondering exactly why Doocy didn’t get to ask Joe Biden a question, despite being the reporter for the largest cable news network, this is the reason. Biden’s mind would have turned to absolute mush, trying to explain how he’s not a massive hypocrite for changing his position. That’s why his handlers protect him, and it’s why Doocy is – by far- the most legitimate reporter in the White House press corps.
