Commission On Presidential Debates Announces Changes For Upcoming Debate
The Commission on Presidential Debates announced late on Monday
evening that it is making changes for the upcoming debate later this
week, which will be the second and final debate.
“As in the first
debate, each candidate will be allotted two minutes of speaking time to
initially answer the moderator’s questions,” The New York Times reported.
“But under a plan announced on Monday by the Commission on Presidential
Debates, his opponent’s microphone will be turned off during that
period, an attempt to ensure an uninterrupted response.”
The Times added that “after the candidates finish their two-minute
replies, they will be allowed to freely engage with one another for the
remainder of the segment.”
“We realize, after discussions with
both campaigns, that neither campaign may be totally satisfied with the
measures announced today,” the commission said in a statement. “One may
think they go too far, and one may think they do not go far enough. We
are comfortable that these actions strike the right balance and that
they are in the interest of the American people, for whom these debates
are held.”
Repair Shop Receipt for Hunter Biden Laptop Revealed, Media Narrative Burns to the Ground
Welp, so much for all those wild Russian conspiracy theories. Hunter
Biden’s laptop was indeed dropped off at a Delaware repair shop by none
other than Hunter Biden himself. A receipt bearing his signature and
name for the repair has been revealed and it’s a total backbreaker for
the media’s narrative.
Wait, you are telling me that Vladimir Putin didn’t steal Hunter
Biden’s laptop, implant false emails, and then leak them to the press?
Who could have foreseen this? Of course, as I said in my Sunday piece on
this topic, we already have more than enough evidence these emails were
real and the result of the younger Biden simply being an idiot. His own
lawyer called the shop trying to get the hard drive back. The Biden
campaign’s non-denial denials are also more than telling.
That
anyone is still trying to pretend there’s any mystery here is
astonishing. Yet, some are. I’m not going to even give them exposure
they don’t deserve by posting it here, but some blue checkmark who
responded to this news claims this still doesn’t prove the veracity of
the emails. I’m sorry, what? Now, not only is having the actual emails
themselves released not enough, along with private pictures and text
messages which further prove authenticity, but even proving their
provenance via a dated receipt is not enough? Notice how the goal posts
keep moving. Donald Trump was quite literally impeached on less evidence
than this.
But the media want to play dumb and suddenly raise
their standards to levels that are 1) unattainable and 2) never applied
to anything to do with Trump, or any Republican for that matter.
Unfortunately for them, they can’t continue, with a straight face at
least, to claim this is Russian disinformation. It’s clearly, provably
not.
The emails are real. It’s not Putin. The media are absolute trash. That’s basically where we are.
Hold on to your hat: Hunter's hard drive roll-out this week is going to unleash a whirlwind
President Trump may want to replace "YMCA" as the closing song for his rallies with Bachman Turner Overdrive's "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet."
Joe
Biden has gone into hiding for the next four days ("to prepare for the
debate") as the social media censorship of information on Hunter Biden's
hard drive fails to force it down the memory hole. So
massive is the cache of information on corruption that daily updates in
digestible bites that build toward public rejection of putting Joe
Biden in the Oval Office is the strategy that makes most sense.
We
can safely speculate that that's exactly how it will play out now that
we know that Steve Bannon was given a copy of the hard drive and is
orchestrating the roll-out in collaboration with Rudy Giuliani. Bannon
himself confirmed this in an interview with Revolver:
Steve
Bannon has since clarified to Revolver News that he was brought into
the project based on familiarity with corruption in corporate America,
on Wall Street, and within the Chinese Communist Party and America's
political class. Mr. Bannon revealed that he "worked up and executed the
roll out plan" of the information contained in the Hunter hard drives.
Given his close knowledge and familiarity with an issue of such
explosive importance to the election, Revolver asked Mr. Bannon a few
questions pertaining to the contents of Hunter's hard drive and the
political implications of their release.
Revolver: What
is the most incriminating thing on the hard drive? Rudy has suggested
illegal things, and as Revolver reported, the FBI person tasked with the
hard drive is associated with the child pornography division. Could you
give more insight into how bad it is we're talking about?
Mr. Bannon: Joe
Biden is a liar, a fraud, and compromised by Chinese cash. In short, he
is a national security crisis. The hard drive combines emails and text
messages that show a massive involvement with companies controlled by
the Chinese Communist Party. Also, there are 25,000 images that show a
drug-addled, depraved lifestyle — one that decent hardworking Americans
will not want near the White House.
There is much more. Read the whole thing.
Rudy
Giuliani, for his part, did a complete hour-long interview with Mark
Levin yesterday, whose first airing was regrettably mostly missed due to
live coverage of President Trump's Carson City rally. The program was
rebroadcast, and the entire show, minus commercials, is embedded
below. At about 44 minutes, it is well worth your time. Rudy provides
details of the way the repair shop–owner came to possess the MacBook and
turn it over to the FBI, which sat on it even as President Trump was
impeached. His outrage over the suppression of evidence relevant to
driving the POTUS out of office led him to make copies, because he
feared for his life, and get them to Rudy. Must-see TV, and deep thanks to Mark for bringing this to us.
As
for the "drug-addled, depraved lifestyle" that Bannon mentions, perhaps
the most explosive element of the entire hard drive databank will be
what is claimed to be pictures of Hunter engaging in sex with minors,
taken during a visit to China, and providing the Chinese Communist Party
the ability to blackmail and control the Biden family with the specter
of long prison terms for Hunter. Wayne Allen Root is tweeting on it,
claiming he has a highest level source:
BREAKING NEWS. My sources- as high up as it gets- watched videos on Hunter's laptops TODAY. Just told me point blank...no rumor...they saw Hunter raping & torturing little Chinese children...Chinese govt has the same videos...Biden is compromised. Blackmailed. Can NEVER be Prez.
Can't u just picture Joe Biden's response to thousands of photos & videos of his son Hunter having sex & torturing little Chinese girls...Joe will say, "I'm sorry, I don't remember." And Hunter's response, "Everyone does it, it's no big deal."
To think women once shocked by @realDonaldTrump's Access Hollywood tape. Compared to Joe Biden's son raping & torturing little pre-pubescent Chinese girls, Trump tape now seems rather tame.
Just think of Biden's 47 years in office. Gave away USA to China. Easy on China. Gave away our jobs. Gave away manufacturing. All these years he was clearly in bed, in partnership with Chinese Communist Party officials. And maybe blackmailed by son Hunter's disgracefu actions?
To
be sure, this is still not confirmed. But it does appear that the FBI
first turned the hard drive over to Joshua Wilson, a specialist in child
pornography, whose signature on the subpoena to the repair store owner is faintly visible. And then, the hard drive disappeared into the bowels of the FBI.
If the social media and MSM grandees think they can keep this bottled up, they are mistaken.
Joe Biden’s world falling apart. I dare you to ask any swing voter in Midwest what they think of this story. https://t.co/DJ3mgGEaef
Things may soon get a lot worse for Hunter and Joe Biden
Hunter
Biden is a truly pathetic human being. He’s an addict who’s rolled in
and out of rehab because of his serious drug and alcohol abuse. The
recently released emails reveal a man with horrifically low self-esteem.
They also indicate that his father pimped Hunter to foreign governments
to act as a bagman for bribes. However, it’s possible to be both
pathetic and evil. In this case, the evil may exist, not just because
Hunter sold out his country, but also because there are increasingly
credible rumors that Hunter’s hard drive holds child pornography.
The first reference to child pornography on Hunter’s hard drive came from Chanel Rion, of OAN. A day after the New York Post
story broke, she tweeted that, having seen some of the contents on
Hunter’s hard drive, there were disturbing indications that he is
obsessed with underage girls:
Just saw for myself a behind the scenes look at the #HunterBiden hard drive:
Drugs, underage obsessions, power deals...
Druggie Hunter makes Anthony Weiner's down under selfie addiction look normal.#BidenCrimeFamily has a lot of apologizing to do.
If
untrue, Rion’s assertion about “underage obsessions” is almost
certainly a libelous statement, even though Hunter is a public figure.
That means that Rion had better be darn certain she’s right to make that
statement.
Several
conservative news sites of possibly dubious reliability piled on,
asserting that an unnamed whistleblower claims that there are videos
showing Hunter sexually abusing underage Chinese girls. At this stage,
these assertions are best ignored and I will not link to them.
Having
said that, there is one serious piece of evidence suggesting that
Hunter Biden’s computer does contain content involving underage sex. The
FBI has had possession of the computer since December 2019. To the
extent that it contains information about events in Ukraine, the FBI did
nothing. Disappointingly, it failed in its obligation to report to the
Trump administration and to Congress whether the information was
legitimate, which would have ended the Ukraine Hoax, or was a
misinformation scheme, which would have required national security
efforts to shut it down.
Although
the FBI failed on the Ukraine issue, one FBI agent acted on the
information on the hard drive. Thus, an agent named Joshua Wilson served a subpoena on John Paul MacIsaac’s computer repair store.
That FBI agent’s name is intriguing. According to a March 2019 news story in the New Jersey Star-Ledger, an FBI agent named Joshua Wilson works in a “depraved world,” because he’s one of the agents fighting child pornography:
The
pornography itself focuses mostly on prepubescent children, experts and
investigators said. Collins reports that of the identified victims her
clearinghouse sees again and again in images and videos, 76 percent are
preteen or young teenagers who have yet to show physical signs of sexual
maturation.
Among that 76 percent, one in 10 is an infant or toddler.
Meanwhile, the abuse seems to know no bounds.
"You
are seeing babies having their diapers removed so they can be
assaulted," said Joshua Wilson, an FBI agent based in New Jersey who has
spent nearly five years working full time on child pornography.
It’s
entirely possible that there is more than one FBI agent named Joshua
Wilson. That is, the Joshua Wilson on the subpoena is not necessarily
the same Joshua Wilson who, as of a year-and-a-half ago, had spent
nearly five years working the FBI’s child pornography beat.
However,
in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday morning, Sen. Ron
Johnson strongly implied that the subpoena did involve concerns about
child pornography on the hard drive (starting at 8:45):
BARTIROMO:
There is a further analysis of the subpoena’s handwriting and it
suggests that the supobena was served by an FBI agent who, his name is
Joshua Wilson. And over the last five years, he has been working on
child pornography issues. Connect the dots. If an FBI agents is working
on child pornography issues for five years, why is he subpoenaing the
laptop of Hunter Biden? Is there a connection here? Should this suggest
that there’s a child pornography issue hee on that laptop.
JOHNSON: Well, I think you just made the connection.
Again, this is what the FBI I think has to come clean about this. This
isn’t a standard investigation, where you know if the FBI doesn’t indict
somebody that everything remains confidential. This is something that,
as we were talking about, relates to national security.
Johnson
is a bit cagey about the whole thing, but it’s notable that he doesn’t
scoff at Bartiromo’s question. Instead, he says that it’s a legitimate
question. That carries with it the implication that Johnson knows
something.
It’s
sad that we find it so believable that there may be child pornography
on the Hunter hard drive. However, Hunter has led such a sleazy life –
meth binges, hookers, impregnating a stripper, taking up with his
brother’s widow – that it’s not a big step to imagine him sliding
further into immorality. This is especially true if a government hostile
to the U.S.’s interests (say, for example, China) wanted to compromise
him so as to have a hold over his father.
We’ve
learned from the Jeffrey Epstein affair that the very rich and powerful
don’t feel that ordinary morality applies to them. That’s why this
coming week should be interesting. It may prove that all the rumors are
wrong. Alternatively, it could reveal that the man who was our former
vice president and who is now the current Democrat presidential
candidate has been engaged in dirty dealing, using as a go-between a son
who lives in a world of unbelievable depravity.
The scandal surrounding Hunter Biden’s emails has only grown in proportion over the last three days, yet you wouldn’t know that from the near blackout media coverage they are receiving. Apparently, pay to play schemes and influence peddling are only a bad thing when the accusations are being leveled at the Trump family.
Of course, the latter never actually did any of that while we have direct, documentary evidence that the Bidens are as corrupt as they come. The latest revelation on that front even showed that Joe Biden was possibly getting a percentage of Hunter Biden’s ill-gotten proceeds from places like Ukraine and China. Meanwhile, the then vice president was glad handing with associates from Burisma. Later he would claim to have no knowledge at all about any of his son’s dealings.
In short, the entire thing stinks to high heaven. That means the response has to been to try to proclaim the story is “Russian misinformation.” But there’s a very big tell coming from the Biden campaign that shows the emails are absolutely real, and they know it.
Rather than say the emails are fake, the Biden campaign has put out several carefully worded statements which make sure to not deny things that will likely be shown to be true in the near future. Meanwhile, surrogates of the campaign are also playing a delicate game where they claim that social media’s preemptive censorship is proof of the story’s lack of veracity. Yet, again, they are very careful to not actually deny the story is correct.
Why? Because they know the emails are absolutely real. In fact, Hunter Biden’s lawyer attempted to get the laptop back at one point, something you’d only do if the actual ownership was assured. This is a point the media have steadfastly ignored, instead seeking to muddy the waters with wild proclamations from figures like Adam Schiff. That’s the facade, but it’s completely transparent at this point.
On the other hand, we see some ostensibly on the right making posts like this.
Note that both these people absolutely lapped up the false “losers” story from The Atlantic which purported that Trump had slandered dead soldiers and purposely missed a ceremony in France. Even John Bolton, who wrote an entire anti-Trump screed of a book, said the story was bogus.
But notice how suddenly, as if we haven’t suffered through four years of garbage, badly sourced pieces targeting Trump, French and Goldberg raise their standards to levels where even the Post’s releasing of the actual emails is not enough verification for them (that’s more than the Times did with Trump’s tax returns, another story The Dispatch crew loved). Weird, right? Or it’s not weird at all if you assume the obvious, which is that they hold two completely two standards for journalism that targets Trump vs. Biden. Again, it’s completely transparent.
The emails are real. They aren’t a Putin operation. They are the work of an idiot, drug addicted son who is corrupt to his core and whose father was well aware of, and possibly participating in what was going on. Those are the inconvenient facts for the media, whether we are talking about CNN or The Dispatch.
First, a host of media outlets have now interviewed the computer-repair guy who provided the data at the heart of these exposés — and he’s said exactly what we’ve reported from the start about how the laptop came into his possession.
Second, neither Hunter nor Joe Biden has even questioned the fact that the drive is real — they merely dismiss the entire line of questioning, while charging that The Post has an agenda in presenting it to the world.
Third, we’ve published emails and pictures — most of which have nothing to do with Ukraine or China — that contain an extraordinary level of detail. Is that all fabricated? The Biden campaign’s response, notably, is not that an e-mail from a Burisma official thanking Hunter for an introduction to his father isn’t real, it’s that said meeting doesn’t show up on Joe’s “official” schedules. Pressed by Politico, the campaign acknowledged that they couldn’t say for certain if Joe Biden had met him casually.
It’s particularly rich that The New York Times has fixated on the “unverified” excuse, since it’s spent much of the Trump era offering supposed dirt from anonymous sources — which, by definition, makes the info unverifiable.
A simple but striking case of that is The Atlantic’s “reporting” that President Trump spoke contemptuously and insultingly of US troops during his trip to France for war-memorial ceremonies. Its claims were based purely on anonymous sources — but contradicted by a number of on-the-record sources, including ex-National Security Adviser John Bolton, who has absolutely no reason to lie to protect the man who fired him.
Yes, the Times and other outlets “confirmed” the story — but only with anonymous sources of their own. What are the chances that these are the same people who talked to the Times anonymously?
More significantly, this is true of the Times and Washington Post reporting that built vast hysteria over “Russiagate” in the administration’s first days.
Some of the stories proved completely false, as no less than former FBI chief Jim Comey (who also has zero motive to protect Trump) said at the time. Others proved to be partial truths, retailed to suggest the opposite of the whole truth — such as the host of reports that the FBI was “investigating” one or another alleged horror, without ever mentioning that everything it had found so far indicated that the charge was pure fiction.
And all of it rooted in “opposition research” commissioned by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, or third-hand gossip retained by Clinton partisans in the Obama administration.
Now, suddenly, with a trove of information — which, again, the Bidens aren’t even claiming is false — these same outlets want to ask endless questions about the chain of evidence. A chain of evidence that The Post has been up-front and open about.
Desperate for Biden to win, they want to sink the story with innuendo rather than actually report on it. Don’t ask too many questions, and you can dismiss it all as “unverified.”
Political figures have long used their families to route power and benefits for their own self-enrichment. In my new book, “Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite,” one particular politician — Joe Biden — emerges as the king of the sweetheart deal, with no less than five family members benefiting from his largesse, favorable access and powerful position for commercial gain. In Biden’s case, these deals include foreign partners and, in some cases, even US taxpayer dollars.
The Biden family’s apparent self-enrichment involves five family members: Joe’s son Hunter, son-in-law Howard, brothers James and Frank, and sister Valerie.
When this subject came up in 2019, Biden declared, “I never talked with my son or my brother or anyone else — even distant family — about their business interests. Period.”
As we will see, this is far from the case …
James Biden
Joe Biden’s younger brother, James, has been an integral part of the family political machine from the earliest days when he served as finance chair of Joe’s 1972 Senate campaign, and the two have remained quite close. After Joe joined the US Senate, he would bring his brother James along on congressional delegation trips to places like Ireland, Rome and Africa.
When Joe became vice president, James was a welcomed guest at the White House, securing invitations to such important functions as a state dinner in 2011 and the visit of Pope Francis in 2015. Sometimes, James’ White House visits dovetailed with his overseas business dealings, and his commercial opportunities flourished during his brother’s tenure as vice president.
Consider the case of HillStone International, a subsidiary of the huge construction management firm Hill International. The president of HillStone International was Kevin Justice, who grew up in Delaware and was a longtime Biden family friend. On Nov. 4, 2010, according to White House visitors’ logs, Justice visited the White House and met with Biden adviser Michele Smith in the Office of the Vice President.
James Biden was joining HillStone just as the firm was starting negotiations to win a massive contract in war-torn Iraq. Six months later, the firm announced a contract to build 100,000 homes. It was part of a $35 billion, 500,000-unit project deal won by TRAC Development, a South Korean company. HillStone also received a $22 million US federal government contract to manage a construction project for the State Department.
David Richter, son of the parent company’s founder, was not shy in explaining HillStone’s success in securing government contracts. It really helps, he told investors at a private meeting, to have “the brother of the vice president as a partner,” according to someone who was there.
The Iraq project was massive, perhaps the single most lucrative project for the firm ever. In 2012, Charlie Gasparino of Fox Business reported that HillStone officials expected the project to “generate $1.5 billion in revenues over the next three years.” That amounted to more than three times the revenue the company produced in 2011.
A group of minority partners, including James Biden, stood to split about $735 million. “There’s plenty of money for everyone if this project goes through,” said one company official.
The deal was all set, but HillStone made a crucial error. In 2013, the firm was forced to back out of the contract because of a series of problems, including a lack of experience by Hill and TRAC Development, its South Korean associate firm. But HillStone continued doing significant contract work in the embattled country, including a six-year contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers.
James Biden remained with Hill International, which accumulated contracts from the federal government for dozens of projects, including projects in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mozambique and elsewhere.
Hunter Biden
With the election of his father as vice president, Hunter Biden launched businesses fused to his father’s power that led him to lucrative deals with a rogue’s gallery of governments and oligarchs around the world. Sometimes he would hitch a prominent ride with his father aboard Air Force Two to visit a country where he was courting business. Other times, the deals would be done more discreetly. Always they involved foreign entities that appeared to be seeking something from his father.
There was, for example, Hunter’s involvement with an entity called Burnham Financial Group, where his business partner Devon Archer — who’d been at Yale with Hunter — sat on the board of directors. Burnham became the vehicle for a number of murky deals abroad, involving connected oligarchs in Kazakhstan and state-owned businesses in China.
But one of the most troubling Burnham ventures was here in the United States, in which Burnham became the center of a federal investigation involving a $60 million fraud scheme against one of the poorest Indian tribes in America, the Oglala Sioux.
The scheme was explicitly designed to target pension funds that had “socially responsible investing” clauses, including pension funds of labor union organizations that had publicly supported Joe Biden’s political campaigns in the past. Indeed, eight of the 11 pension funds that lost their money were either government employee or labor union pension funds. Joe Biden has “a long-standing alliance with labor.” He closely identifies with organized labor. “I make no apologies,” he has said. “I am a union man, period.” And many public unions have endorsed him over the years.
Transcripts from Archer’s trial offer a clearer picture of Hunter Biden’s role at Burnham Asset Management, in particular, the fact that the firm relied on his father’s name and political status as a means of both recruiting pension money into the scheme and alleviating investors’ concerns.
Tim Anderson, a lawyer who did legal work on the issuance of the tribal bonds, recounts seeing Hunter while visiting the Burnham office in New York City to meet with Bevan Cooney, who was later convicted in the case.
The political ties that Biden and Archer had were considered key to the Burnham brand. As stated in an August 2014 email, Jason Galanis, who was convicted in the bond scheme, agreed with an unidentified associate who also thought the company had “value beyond capital” because of their political connections.
In the closing arguments at the trial, one of Archer’s defense attorneys, Matthew Schwartz, explained to the jury that it was impossible to talk about the bond scheme without mentioning Hunter Biden’s name. This “was perfectly sensible,” according to Schwartz, “because Hunter Biden was part of the Burnham team.”
Howard Krein
It would be a dream for any new company to announce their launch in the Oval Office at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
StartUp Health is an investment consultancy based out of New York City, and in June 2011, the company barely had a website. The firm was the brainchild of three siblings from Philadelphia. Steven Krein is CEO and co-founder, while his brother, Dr. Howard Krein, serves as chief medical officer. Sister Bari serves as the firm’s chief strategy officer. A friend named Unity Stoakes is a co-founder and serves as president.
StartUp Health was barely up and running when, in June 2011, two of the company’s executives were ushered into the Oval Office of the White House. They met with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
The following day, the new company would be featured at a large health care tech conference being run by the US Department of Health and Human Services, and StartUp Health executives became regular visitors to the White House, attending events in 2011, 2014 and 2015.
How did StartUp Health gain access to the highest levels of power in Washington? There was nothing particularly unique about the company, but for this:
The chief medical officer of StartUp Health, Howard Krein, is married to Joe Biden’s youngest daughter, Ashley.
“I happened to be talking to my father-in-law that day and I mentioned Steve and Unity were down there [in Washington, DC],” recalled Howard Krein. “He knew about StartUp Health and was a big fan of it. He asked for Steve’s number and said, ‘I have to get them up here to talk with Barack.’ The Secret Service came and got Steve and Unity and brought them to the Oval Office.”
StartUp Health offers to provide new companies technical and relationship advice in exchange for a stake in the business. Demonstrating and highlighting the fact that you can score a meeting with the president of the United States certainly helps prove a strategic company asset: high-level contacts.
Vice President Joe Biden continued to help Krein promote his company at several appearances through his last months in the White House, including one in January 2017, where he made a surprise showing at the StartUp Health Festival in San Francisco. The corporate event, open only to StartUp Health members, enabled the 250 people in attendance to chat in a closed session with the vice president.
Frank Biden
In late March 2009, Vice President Joe Biden landed in Costa Rica aboard Air Force Two, and went to the Costa Rican presidential palace for a one-on-one with President Oscar Arias. The Biden visit had symbolic significance. The last time a high-ranking American official had visited the country was back in 1997, when Bill Clinton had come.
Joe Biden’s trip to Costa Rica came at a fortuitous time for his brother Frank, who was busy working deals in the country. Just months after Vice President Biden’s visit, in August, Costa Rica News announced a new multilateral partnership “to reform Real Estate in Latin America” among Frank Biden, a developer named Craig Williamson, and the Guanacaste Country Club, a newly planned resort. The partnership, which appears to be ongoing, was wrapped in a beautiful package as a “call on resources available to the companies and individuals to reform the social, economic and environmental practices of real estate developers across the world by example.”
In real terms, Frank’s dream was to build in the jungles of Costa Rica thousands of homes, a world-class golf course, casinos, and an anti-aging center. The Costa Rican government was eager to cooperate with the vice president’s brother.
As it happened, Joe Biden had been asked by President Obama to act as the administration’s point man in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Frank’s vision for a country club in Costa Rica received support from the highest levels of the Costa Rican government — despite his lack of experience in building such developments. He met with the Costa Rican ministers of education and energy and environment, as well as the president of the country.
On Oct. 4, 2016, the Costa Rican Ministry of Public Education signed a letter of intent with Frank’s company, Sun Fund Americas. The project involved allowing a company called GoSolar to operate solar power facilities in Costa Rica. The previous year, the Obama-Biden administration’s OPIC had authorized a $6.5 million taxpayer-backed loan for the project.
In June 2014, Vice President Biden announced the launch of the Caribbean Energy Security Initiative (CESI). The program called for increasing access to financing for Caribbean energy projects that he strongly supported. American taxpayer dollars were dedicated to facilitating deals that matched US government financing with local energy projects in Caribbean countries, including Jamaica. In January 2015, USAID announced that it would be spending $10 million to boost renewable energy projects in Jamaica over the next five years.
After Joe Biden brought together leaders for CESI, brother Frank’s firm Sun Fund Americas announced that it was “engaged in projects and is in negotiations with governments of other countries in the [Caribbean] region for both its Solar and Waste to Energy development services.” As if to push the idea along, the Obama administration’s OPIC provided a $47.5 million loan to support the construction of a 20-megawatt solar facility in Clarendon, Jamaica.
Frank Biden’s Sun Fund Americas later announced that it had signed a power purchase agreement to build a 20-megawatt solar facility in Jamaica.
Valerie Biden Owens
During his years in the Senate, Biden’s family benefited financially in other ways as he leveraged political power. Joe’s sister Valerie ran all of his Senate campaigns, as well as his presidential runs in 1988 and 2008.
But she was also a senior partner in a political messaging firm named Joe Slade White & Company; the only two executives listed at the firm were Joe Slade White and Valerie.
The firm received large fees from the Biden campaigns that Valerie was running. Two and a half million dollars in consulting fees flowed to her firm from Citizens for Biden and Biden For President Inc. during the 2008 presidential bid alone.
Joe Slade White & Company worked for Biden campaigns over 18 years.
Went to the bookstore to grab a copy of Proust’s The Guermantes Way. Of course they didn’t have that.
What do they have?
Lotta books for children about politics
Like a lot
This is my favorite page. Confess, babies! Confesssss!
Then of course there’s the large genre of “children’s books for liberal adults”
The adult nonfiction that is focused on how Race is Very Real and America is best understood as a Nazi-like system analyzed via a racial lens is certainly prominently placed. Authors take note!
Same at a DC “bookstore” (resistance trinkets store)
This is... this is a lot guys. I go to bookstores for literatu-
Right. I mean... you know book is already a verb, yeah? Surely you care about words, being a bookstore, not a political pamphleteering operation and self-congratulations temple? Ah, never mind. What scent are those Mueller candles?
I just want a bookstore that is for people who like reading!
By the way, the pictures of the Antiracist Baby book are taken in a neighborhood where the average home costs almost a million and a half dollars. Besides being in the front featured staff picks section of the store, I found it in two other sections
