Barr Requesting a Report From Durham Is Consistent With DOJ Policy

Report From Durham Is Consistent With DOJ Policy — Those Suggesting Otherwise Are Partisan Opponents

Another subject of the online “Greek Chorus” of former federal prosecutors gives voice to “outrage” over the suggestion that Attorney General Barr is asking US Attorney Durham to produce an “interim report” of his investigation to date into the origins of the Russia Hoax investigation.  The enterprise was initiated by the Obama Administration and carried over into the Trump Administration by members of the Anti-Trump “Resistance” embedded into the federal government, later spearheaded by the Robert Mueller-headed Special Counsel’s Office.

Before we get to their lamentations, let’s first lay a foundation for considering their hypocrisy.

The DOJ regulations governing the appointment of a “Special Counsel” like Robert Mueller, provide the following:

§ 600.8 Notification and reports by the Special Counsel.
(2) (c) Closing documentation. At the conclusion of the Special Counsel’s work, he or she shall provide the Attorney General with a confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions reached by the Special Counsel.

Does “a confidential report” look anything like this?

The Mueller Report eBook by U.S. Department Of Justice - 9781974973484 | Rakuten Kobo United States

Where were the objectors when the SCO decided that publishing a book accorded with the Regulations which said a “confidential report” should be submitted to the Attorney General?

All those squawking that Durham would be violating DOJ Policy by producing a report to the AG were conspicuously silent — no, I take that back — they were SHOUTING from the rooftops that the findings of the SCO had to be made public.  In fact, Mueller’s Staff of Democrat Partisans drafted executive summaries for each chapter that would not require DOJ declassification review for the very purpose of having those released to the public ahead of the release of the actual report itself, so all the Partisans’ conclusion and suppositions could begin to take root in the media coverage as “facts.”

Democrats in Congress DEMANDED that the SCO’s findings be released to the public because they were convinced the SCO would uncover all the evidence that HAD TO EXIST to show that Pres. Trump was a Russian agent and a Putin stooge.  They just had to find it because so much had been leaked to the media by the Intelligence Community for nearly 3 years that said it was so.

So, with that backdrop of “hypocrisy”, let’s check in with the “Greek Chorus” referenced above:

The 60-day reference he makes is not policy — he’s misleading the readers.

That’s not what Comey was fired for.  Comey was fired because he was insubordinate when he usurped to the FBI Director a decision that belonged to the Attorney General when he thought the Attorney General had compromised herself on the question.  That wasn’t for him to decide.  McQuade is a dishonest hack who had a reputation for running a “do nothing” office in Detroit that was avoided by federal agencies when they could get cases filed elsewhere.

There’s really no explaining Kirschner — how this guy
was a senior DOJ official just baffles me.

So, what is this “DOJ Policy” and what does it mean?

1-7.000 — CONFIDENTIALITY AND MEDIA CONTACTS POLICY
1-7.001 – Purpose
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Confidentiality and Media Contacts Policy (the Policy) applies to all DOJ personnel, including employees, contractors, detailees, and task force partners.
The Policy governs the protection and release of information that DOJ personnel obtain in the course of their work, and it balances four primary interests: (1) an individual’s right to a fair trial or adjudicative proceeding; (2) an individual’s interest in privacy; (3) the government’s ability to administer justice and promote public safety; and (4) the right of the public to have access to information about the Department of Justice.
The Policy provides internal guidance only and does not create any rights enforceable in law or otherwise. DOJ components may promulgate more specific policies, consistent with and subject to this Policy.

Here is a second important provision on under what circumstances public comment is allowed:

1-7.400 – Disclosure of Information Concerning Ongoing Criminal, Civil, or Administrative Investigations
A.  Any communication by DOJ personnel with a member of the media relating to a pending investigation or case must be approved in advance by the appropriate United States Attorney or Assistant Attorney General…
B.  DOJ generally will not confirm the existence of or otherwise comment about ongoing investigations….
C.  When the community needs to be reassured that the appropriate law enforcement agency is investigating a matter, or where release of information is necessary to protect the public safety, comments about or confirmation of an ongoing investigation may be necessary, subject to the approval requirement in subparagraph A.

So, that “policy” all the lefty partisan former DOJ types are gnashing their teeth over actually provides that one of the interests balanced in the policy is the right of the public to have access to information about DOJ.

Further, the policy against commenting on ongoing investigations is subject to exceptions depending on circumstances — it is “generally” applicable, which means that it may be waived under appropriate circumstances.  One of the explicit grounds for waiving the policy set forth in the policy is the need to reassure the community that a matter is under investigation — including commenting on the status of the investigation.

Whether the left-wing liberal legal eagles like it or not, there are millions of Trump supporters who WANT to know what Durham is doing, and who want to know that potentially criminal matters uncovered by the IG investigations are being pursued and that offenders are going to be prosecuted just like any other citizen would be in the same circumstances.

More significantly, the subject of the investigation is official misconduct of government actors — from working FBI agents and line DOJ attorneys right up to the Obama Administration Attorney General and FBI Director.

No serious case can be made that these are not matters of grave public concern.  If the Russia investigation was an orchestrated farce from the very start — and later pursued by the SCO for the purpose of obstructing the duly elected President of the United States in the performance of his duties in that office, the public should know before the next election if the party seeking to regain the White House was functionally responsible for such obstructive behaviors.

Declaring that Brennan, Clapper, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, and other Anti-Trump partisans should enjoy the same confidentiality protections as private citizens, under circumstances where their actions were that of public officials wielding the authority of the federal government, is simply idiotic.  As the saying goes, “the Constitution is not a suicide pact.”  The Trump Administration is not required to sit quietly and suffer through a second election while the gears of the Democrat party and federal bureaucratic resistance do all they can to undermine and defeat the Administration.

The opposition partisans are ALL writing books with their narratives.  It will be interesting to see how well those narratives hold up under the revelations that a Durham report might bring.

This is truly one exceptional instance where “sunshine is the best disinfectant.”  Let the sun shine on all the evidence that Durham has unearthed, and let the Court of Public opinion render a verdict at the ballot box in November.

The fear driving the Democrat partisans wringing their hands over a possible Durham report is that Trump will win re-election, and then the “dogs of war” are really going to come after the malefactors.

Why should President Trump be forgiving in a second term?

They know he won’t be, and William Barr has pledged that nothing like what happened in 2016 should ever happen to a Presidential candidate again.

Conservatives’ Crushing Counterattack In the Culture War

Conservatives’ Crushing

Counterattack In the Culture War

You know, I am still not tired of all the winning. Imagine having a Republican president conserva-woke enough to issue an executive order banning the poisonous lies of critical race theory from being inflicted upon our federal workforce. Well, we do have a president fearless enough to fight back, boldly and publicly, against the noxious propaganda of the academic left we taxpayers have been shelling out millions to pay commie consultants for. And he did it in the face of the utterly predictable narrative that “Trump is racist for prohibiting indoctrinating government employees with the idea that people are good or bad based on their race!”
Do you think a Jeb!, or a Mitt! or even a Nikki! would dare stand up to that kind of heat? No, they’d be kneeling, begging for absolution from the NYT and WaPo for the sins of the GOP base not wanting to pay moral and/or financial reparations for slaves they never owned to people who were never owned.
Thanks to Donald Trump, the culture war is back on and instead of General McClellan we have General Patton, and he’s up to RINO-slap a squish.
The culture war is that thing the “fiscally conservative, socially liberal” smart set of spineless Fredocons, who are all in on the “socially liberal” part but never get around to the “fiscally conservative” part, have told us for decades is a sure loser. Now, normally one should defer to the Fredocons on losing since they are the indisputable experts, but the fact that for decades the GOP establishment refused to fight about things that our base was concerned with led to a society where people tell you their pronouns and insist dudes can get preggers. Fiscal and foreign policy stuff is important, but when some dude dangles his doings in your daughter’s locker room because now he insists that he is no longer Charlie but is, instead, Charlotte, that’s a problem. And the geniuses kept telling us “Hush, knuckledraggers, we’re too busy trying to ship your job to China because Milton Freidman told us to and we don’t have time to icky fights over the things you care about that might get us called hayseeds at the next Georgetown mixer.”
All this garbage the left has pushed on us – from racial self-loathing to gender idiocy to killing babies – has catastrophic real-world consequences on real people and the people who presumed to lead us didn’t want to risk the kool kidz of kultur wagging their collective fingers at them. Trump not only cares but counterattacks.
That’s why the executive order getting the government out of the racial grievance business is so important. Finally, we are able to exercise our brand of power – political power, since we control the executive branch – to push back against the unaccountable and totally left cultural power of the establishment. And it’s not only the president.
We’re all supposed to applaud the kneeling zillionaires of the NFL – the most spoiled bunch of jerks on planet earth – and yet when they came out and tried to rub their cultural power in our faces, when they tried to make us just sit there and silently be insulted presented by the felons, losers, and accused sex offenders whose names were emblazoned on their helmets, tons of us refused to tune in and those who showed up live booed these pretentious twits. How dare those peasants refuse to submit to the cultural commandments of their betters!
And then there was the reaction to the despicable Netflix Cuties film, a child molester’s fantasia that disgusted the nation. Look, far be it from me to stop the blue bubble-dwelling cultural elite from selecting “You dumb Jesus people don’t appreciate why pedophilia is no big deal” as their hill to die on. As long as they die on some hill I’m not too picky about which one, but if they want to choose the one that’s even going to creep out a lot of the Democrat Party’s voters, go for it.
The simple and indisputable fact is that within the liberal bubble there is not only huge pressure, but an ideological need, to defend any perversion that comes along. The logic of the liberal ideology makes it impossible to say “No” – if you can’t tell a dude who is manifestly a dude that “Sorry, but you are a dude,” you are probably going to have a hard time coming up with a consistent reason why it’s bad for an adult to have sex with a 14-year-old. And, at least in California, the Democrat governor just signed a bill to substantially cut the penalties for a 24-year-old to have sex – of any kind – with someone 10 years younger. Sick.
Oh, it occurs to them that normal people are disgusted and appalled, but this does not cause them to rethink their disgraceful actions but to insist we are somehow mischaracterizing what they are doing. We say they are trying to penalize pedos less, and they are. And based on their grotesque rationalizations, if you follow their twisted logic there is nothing that creates a boundary between the lessened penalties they want today and the total abandonment of the idea of the age of consent. The leftist perverts get their perversion and the rest of the leftists get to further undermine the family and society – to people who hate you, it’s a win-win.
But we’re now fighting back. People are furious with Netflix, and it seems as if the Obama-affiliated VOD service was actually stunned that people objected. After all, cultural decency rarely penetrates into the deep blue bubble, and the idea that telling someone “Hey, your perversion is not okay” is totally alien to their caste. The cultural critics adored Cuties and were scandalized that anyone might be offended by the horrific sexualization of pre-teen girls. Alyssa Rosenberg of the WaPo fumed: “If conservatives, who have jumped on the debate over #Cuties, want to be taken seriously as cultural arbiters, they have to be able to talk about the *text* of a movie like this in an honest, responsible way.” Well, if the price of the total rejection of pedo exploitation of kids is having people in blue metro enclaves not take us seriously, we’re ready to pay it.
Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton have gotten involved and attacked Netflix and, by extension, the leftist luminaries involved. Note that Obama, who is deeply connected with Netflix, has said zero. And, of course, there’s no outrage from the creepy, hair-sniffing weirdo who lives in a basement. But it would be no surprise to see the president tweet about it: “Many are disgusted by failing Netflix (Obama has a big-money deal with it) exploiting kids. We will investigate and prosecute perverts. Sick! LAW AND ORDER!”
The culture war is not some niche distraction for Bible thumpers and repressed weirdos channeling Chris Cooper in American Beauty. It is not an inconvenience to our GOP establishment and a frivolous distraction from the serious business of managing America’s decline to keep it at a slightly slower rate than under the Democrats. It is the battle over the things that we normal Americans live with every day. The nature of our country and society is vitally important, and we demand a say in it.
Under Trump, we have that say again, finally, and in his second term look for Donald Trump’s administration to stay on the cultural offensive.

Arson Arrests Being Made Across the West Coast – Multiple Fires Identified as Arson

In a rather disconcerting sequence of events many of the west coast forest fires are now being attributed to intentional arson.  One of the key aspects to the unnatural outbreak of fires is the proximity to homes and well established neighborhoods in California, Washington State and Oregon.

A twitter account by Katie Daviscourt has been tracking some of the fires and a recent series of events from the area(s) [SEE HERE].  The ongoing thread is updated with several points of evidence where people have been caught, captured or filmed in the act of lighting fires.  There is some speculation, and some evidence, that some of these fires may have been ignited by Antifa activists as a method of further creating crisis in the region.

The FBI is saying there is no evidence Antifa or Joe Biden’s far-left base of support are behind the fires. However, given the internal dynamic within the FBI; and accepting the FBI carries a political agenda; and considering the facts on the ground do not support the denials; the downplaying of motive by the FBI is not very reassuring.

A statement by federal law enforcement to Law Enforcement Today is troubling and points to several ongoing investigations into these fires:

LawEnforcementToday – […] A federal law enforcement source shared with Law Enforcement Today that the feds are looking into whether some of the cases are linked together… and warn there could be more “attacks”.
“We are reacting to a coordinated series of attempts to start fires anywhere and everywhere in Oregon. Public and Private lands, incorporated and unincorporated areas.
By all indications so far in the preliminary stages of these investigations there is a coordinated effort on the part of these individuals to start fires in areas that are the least protected and most vulnerable then slowing working their way into more populated areas and neighborhoods.
Please take this information as an advisory for you own account and welfare and please act in good faith with due diligence to plan accordingly for your own safety and the well being of your community.”  (read more)

MSM – […] In Oregon’s Clackamas and Marion counties south of Portland, smoke was so thick that it was difficult to see more than 10 feet ahead Saturday morning.

Carolee Brown told CNN she has relocated twice this week because of evacuation orders. She’s been losing sleep, constantly monitoring her home’s security camera online to see if it’s still standing. As of Saturday morning, it was.

“It’s unreal. You can’t really fathom what is going on,” she told CNN in Marion County. “You take what you think (you should), and you just get out.”

While Oregon’s death toll was at least six on Saturday, the state is preparing for a “mass fatality incident” based on how many structures have been charred, Oregon Emergency Management Director Andrew Phelps said Friday.

Already, dozens are missing, the state’s governor said, mostly across Jackson, Lane and Marion counties in western Oregon. (read more)

It’s the Russians! Biden’s Potemkin Campaign

 Article by Robert A. Hahn in RedState

It’s the Russians! Biden’s Potemkin Campaign

Grigory Aleksandrovich Potemkin-Tauricheski (1739-1791) would seem to be an unlikely Democratic political strategist. A Russian military leader of some repute, and allegedly the lover of Russian Empress Catherine the Great, he is best known today for a ruse he perpetrated on his beloved Empress. As Governor-General of Russia’s Southern provinces, Potemkin was charged with overseeing the colonization of the region. According to legend, Catherine at some point wanted to see all the new villages that Potemkin had settled. Potemkin arranged a tour by boat. He then built fake villages — façades really — along the route to impress Her Majesty. Supposedly, the “Potemkin Villages” were torn down as soon as her tour boat had passed, then re-assembled farther down the route where she would see them again.
It’s hard to look at the Biden campaign and not see a Potemkin Village… a façade, an artifice that looks like a campaign when viewed from afar, but when examined closely looks more like a ruse. Were I a high-dollar donor to the Democratic Party, I would be furious.
Here we are, 50 days out from the election. As we might expect, given that he is running for re-election, President Trump will make multiple campaign stops this weekend. He will hold rallies in Arizona and Nevada. Where’s Joe Biden? In his basement. He has no public events scheduled until later in the week. This guy is running for President. The election is weeks, not months, away, and he isn’t even campaigning. He has spokespeople who are ready with all manner of excuses reasons. “The wind is up and the Moon is blowing and coronavirus and safety,” they say. OK, but the election is still 50 days away and he still isn’t campaigning.
Say this for his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris: she at least was in Miami last week. The question is, where was the campaign? You’ve seen the videos. When President Trump pays a visit to anywhere, the streets are lined with supporters waving signs and cheering as his motorcade goes by. Well, guess what. When Harris’ motorcade made its way through Miami, the streets were once again lined with Trump supporters waving signs… and making not-so-nice gestures. How does that even happen? Campaigns are supposed to have “advance” people who make certain that local supporters know the candidate is coming. They hit the phone banks and make sure that the parade route is lined with happy supporters showing how excited they are. In Miami, the only people at the airport to meet Harris’ plane were the dour faces of the security detail. As she made her way to the venue, all she saw out the limousine window were Trump/Pence signs. Are we getting a peek at the inner workings of Biden’s “ground game” here? If so, it would appear he doesn’t have one. Unfortunately for him, Trump demonstrably does.
I’ve seen this act before. In 2008, I was in the audience for one of the Republican primary debates, the one in Orlando on Fox News. When the debate was over, we all split up into little supporter parties that the candidates were hosting throughout the hotel complex. We decided we would check in on Fred “Doink Doink” Thompson, the ultimate Law and Order candidate. What we saw caused us to write him off instantly. As the former Senator and TV star hobbled down the stairs toward the waiting crowd, it became painfully obvious that this was a man who had accomplished everything he wanted to in life. He wanted no part of this. He was old, he was tired, and what he really wanted was to be at home in his recliner reading a book. He was in Orlando because his newly-acquired trophy wife had fantasies of becoming First Lady of the United States. He was going along with that, and if the people were to hand him the Presidency by acclamation he would go along with that too. But he wasn’t going to do any actual work to get there. He was just shuffling along, glad-handing people and smiling, with no indication that he even understood why people were there.
Joe Biden is the Fred Thompson of 2020. He’s old, he’s tired, and what he really wants is to be at home in his basement. The bad news for the Democrats is that everybody running against him in the primaries was worse. And now — gulp — Joe Biden is the Democratic Nominee for President.
Joe probably remembers Marvin the Martian. Marvin would say, “Where’s the campaign? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering campaign.” Joe doesn’t have a campaign, and he doesn’t even seem to want one. But the Democratic Party has a lot invested in this. They’ve hired a whole battalion of Grigory Potemkins who dress Joe up and tell him where to stand and show him where the screen with the answers to the questions will be. Day by day, they create the façade of a presidential campaign and move it around. One day the press will tell you it’s in Pittsburgh, the next day it’s in Kenosha. But it’s the same Zoom screen day after day, with virtual people and a virtual Joe in a virtual campaign.
If I were watching this from inside the DNC, or even worse the boardroom at Bloomberg News where serious checks are being written, I’d be tearing my hair out. This so-called “Biden Campaign” isn’t a campaign at all. It isn’t serious. It isn’t even real. It’s a ruse, a part-time amateur-night production by people who can’t even summon fifty supporters to wave signs at an appearance by the VP candidate… by people who paint circles on the floor of an abandoned warehouse, invite in two or three reporters, and call the result a “campaign stop in Pittsburgh.” Sure, the Democratic Party’s friends in the press are going along with this, trying to put the best possible face on it, and gamely telling anyone who will believe them that Joe Biden campaigned in Pittsburgh today. But the people who have to be fooled the most — the Democratic campaign workers — are seeing all this from the inside. They are behind the façade, watching the Empress’ boat float by, hoping she’s too drunk to notice that it’s all a trick.

Anger, the tell tale HEART of the Totalitarian, the Progressives, ....Come see the pattern

Let me put you wise!

Have you ever noticed people who don't accept responsibility will often re-direct attention by getting angry at the very thing they're guilty of?

It's a Tell, ya'll

Feeling Vulnerable? No Problem—Just Get Angry
Anger is awesome in restoring a sense of power and control—but at what cost?

Posted Mar 07, 2018

If there’s an instant “fix” for feeling sad, anxious, or otherwise vulnerable, nothing fits the bill like anger. This fiery emotion—causing you to simultaneously secrete adrenaline and noradrenaline—fortifies you for battle (though typically it’s verbal, not physical), and also anesthetizes you from the hurtful feelings that precipitated it.

If you’ve never explored the psychological and chemical dimensions of this powerful fight response—or what, energetically, it seeks to do for you—consider how anger enables you to:

Defend against another’s criticism (i.e., by forcefully turning their negative judgment of you back on them—because, however unconsciously, their unfavorable evaluation was experienced as threatening your sense of personal competence or adequacy, which may not have been very stable to begin with);
Categorically invalidate the other’s viewpoint (which, opposing your own, may have played into old, uneasy feelings of insecurity and self-doubt);
Assert your power in the relationship (which was threatened, denied, or denigrated by this real—or supposed—adversary);
Shift the accusation or blame they made you feel vigorously back on them (most frequently toward your spouse, child, or parent—with whom, especially as an adult, you might feel at greater liberty to “go off on” then any friends or associates);
Self-righteously conclude that you’re the victim (which frees you from taking any responsibility for the conflict your anger has created between you and the other person);
Protest against the other’s making you feel disregarded, devalued, disparaged, distrusted, or rejected (for without such a steamed-up dissent, you might be concerned that in not resisting them you’d be acquiescing to their apparent “display” of superiority over you);
Punish the perceived offender for bringing buried doubts about yourself too close to the surface (and here again, you’re evading inner, uncomfortable feelings by transforming them into external conflict);
Intimidate them in the coercive effort to get them to back off—or down—from their triggering behavior (which you lack the ego strength to admit was emotionally painful to you);
Paradoxically, "soothe" yourself when you’re experiencing the other person as attacking you (and don’t yet know how else to calm yourself down); and finally, on the most profound level, your anger:
Blocks not only emotional hurts but physical and mental pain as well (which, before the anger “mercifully” kicked in, had begun—distressfully—to resonate within you).

2011 Occupy, 2020 Antifa or 2020 Biden Supporters – Same Message: “All My Heroes Kill Cops”

Considering the ambush attack against Los Angeles law enforcement, just a short pictorial to remind everyone that the continuum of Democrat messaging remains exactly the same.

Less than a week ago, September 7, this picture was taken of a protest group in Seattle.  Notice the banner “All My Heores Kill Cops”:

This is the exact same message from the 2011 “Occupy” group as
they marched and rioted in Oakland, California.

2020 Seattle:
2011 Oakland:  (Reference Link)

Occupy Wall Street 2011

The current far-left 2020 “Biden supporters” are the current 2020 violent Antifa activists.  Prior to being Antifa they assembled under the cause of the 2011 “Occupy” movement.

Flashback to Nancy Pelosi:

Cops or the Mob; Pro-choice or Anti-life; Good vs Evil...there is NO..."coming together..."...a mis-direction...

We must come together?
What a mis-direction so many fall for.

How can Evil come together with Good?....
How can you reconcile those who will kill an unborn baby calling it pro-Choice (see Anti-Life)

How can Evil come together will Good when Evil says, laws, police, etc are bad, and those who believe in Law....are called out as bad? How can THAT be reconciled.

So when we hear on the evil msm, and the Rino Fox, ...no one is speaking for our side...

the side of God, Nature, and Truth....stop speaking around the edges...call those who wish to "compromise" OUT....

What Evil IS is self evident, NO matter the brainwashing marxists wish to state otherwise..

PRESIDENT TRUMP .Executive Order on Lowering Drug Prices by Putting America First

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1Purpose.  Americans pay more per capita for prescription drugs than residents of any other developed country in the world.  It is unacceptable that Americans pay more for the exact same drugs, often made in the exact same places.  Other countries’ governments regulate drug prices by negotiating with drug manufacturers to secure bargain prices, leaving Americans to make up the difference — effectively subsidizing innovation and lower-cost drugs for the rest of the world.  The Council of Economic Advisers has found that Americans finance much of the biopharmaceutical innovation that the world depends on, allowing foreign governments, many of which are the sole healthcare payers in their respective countries, to enjoy bargain prices for such innovations.  Americans should not bear extra burdens to compensate for the shortfalls that result from the nationalized public healthcare systems of wealthy countries abroad.
In addition to being unfair, high drug prices in the United States also have serious economic and health consequences for patients in need of treatment.  High prices cause Americans to divert too much of their scarce resources to pharmaceutical treatments and away from other productive uses.  High prices are also a reason many patients skip doses of their medications, take less than the recommended doses, or abandon treatment altogether.  The consequences of these behaviors can be severe. For example, patients may develop acute conditions that result in poor clinical outcomes or that require drastic and expensive medical interventions.

In most markets, the largest buyers pay the lowest prices, but this has not been true for prescription drugs.  The Federal Government is the largest payer for prescription drugs in the world, but it pays more than many smaller buyers, including other developed nations.  When the Federal Government purchases a drug covered by Medicare Part B — the cost of which is shared by American seniors who take the drug and American taxpayers — it should insist on, at a minimum, the lowest price at which the manufacturer sells that drug to any other developed nation.
The need for affordable Medicare Part B drugs is particularly acute now, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to historic levels of unemployment in the United States, including the loss of 1.2 million jobs among Americans age 65 or older between March and April of 2020.  The COVID-19 pandemic has also led to an increase in food prices, straining budgets for many of America’s seniors, particularly those who live on fixed incomes.  The economic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic only increase the burdens placed on America’s seniors and other Medicare Part B beneficiaries.

Sec. 2Policy.  (a)  It is the policy of the United States that the Medicare program should not pay more for costly Part B prescription drugs or biological products than the most-favored-nation price.
(b)  The “most-favored-nation price” shall mean the lowest price, after adjusting for volume and differences in national gross domestic product, for a pharmaceutical product that the drug manufacturer sells in a member country of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development that has a comparable per-capita gross domestic product.
Sec. 3Ensuring the Most-Favored-Nation Price in Medicare Part B.  To the extent consistent with law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall immediately take appropriate steps to implement his rulemaking plan to test a payment model pursuant to which Medicare would pay, for certain high-cost prescription drugs and biological products covered by Medicare Part B, no more than the most-favored-nation price.  The model would test whether, for patients who require pharmaceutical treatment, paying no more than the most-favored-nation price would mitigate poor clinical outcomes and increased expenditures associated with high drug costs.

The Media Tries To Make the Thug That Attacked Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha Into a Hero

Every movement needs a martyr. The Irish independence movement, arguably, would have been delayed by years had the British not executed fourteen men in the aftermath of the 1916 Easter Uprising. The Nazis, in a move that foreshadowed George Orwell’s 1984 character, Winston, creating the heroic “Comrade Ogilvy” out of thin air, transformed Horst Wessel, a rather disreputable street tough, into a symbol of the movement after he was gunned down by a communist hitman.
The BLM/Antifa movement is no different.

While the BLM faction of what can only be seen as single, unified movement, has had some success in taking men like George Floyd and turning them into international figures, the Antifa militia has not been quite as successful. Back in July, 39-year-old, skateboard-piloting ne’er-do-well Scott Williams attacked a man at a protest in Albuquerque and was, in my view, justifiably smoked. (Read my post: Howling Leftwing Mob Tries to Murder a Man in Albuquerque but They Don’t Count on Him Defending Himself.) Him surviving plus the fact that he was hardly a heroic figure caused him to be quickly forgotten. It is really hard to make a hero of a man approaching middle age who seems to still live at home and tools around on a skateboard.

Their next effort was in Austin, TX, where a LARPing Air Force veteran, Garrett Foster, pointed a modern sporting rifle (that’s an “assault rifle” to you Moms Demand freaks) at the driver’s window of a car and the driver took him seriously and lit him up. (See The Left Is Trying to Create Their Own Horst Wessel but They Just Aren’t Good Enough). There weren’t enough Antifa fellatistas in the media to transform someone threatening a law-abiding citizen with a rifle into a martyr for the movement.

Then the left had a potential treasure trove. On August 25, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, was part of a group of men who were trying to prevent totally peaceful Antif protesters from destroying property in Kenosha, Wi. He, like the rest of the group, was armed. Late in the evening he became separated from his group and was attacked by a mob. When the smoke cleared, two Antifa were approaching room temperature and a third was wounded.

Almost immediately, the Antifa sympathizers in the press undertook two tasks.

The first was to demonize Rittenhouse. This effort fell apart. A New York Times report all but concluded that the shootings were justified. The smear that Rittenhouse had brought a weapon across state lines to assist citizens of Kenosha in protecting property evaporated when it was revealed that Rittenhouse worked as a lifeguard in Kenosha and had joined the group at the last minute…after helping clean Antifa graffiti from a high school.

A second strategy was to try to make the dead thugs into martyrs. But, as it turned out, the person who set off the shooting, who was videoed shouting “shoot me, n***a” at some white kid, was a wife-beater and child molester. The guy who slammed Rittenhouse with a skateboard (what is it with grown men riding around on skateboards? Why does the Antifa movement attract these pathetic losers? those are rhetorical questions) had felony convictions for domestic violence as well as other convictions. This left the guy shot in the arm, Gaige “Lefty” Grosskreutz, as the nominee for the martyr’s crown. And our media never disappoints when in comes to lionizing people with whom they sympathize. Who can forget the swooing and thigh-sweats that accompanied the first images of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Here’s a sampling:

This is how CNN describes Lefty’s shooting: “Grosskreutz then is seen approaching Rittenhouse and is shot in the arm at close range.”

By that they mean he charged Rittenhouse with a pistol in one hand and a cell phone in the other, Rittenhouse pointed his rifle at Lefty, Lefty raised his hands, Rittenhouse lowered his weapon, Lefty dropped the pistol in Rittenhouse’s direction and got shot in the arm.

He later quoted as saying he wished he’d killed Rittenhouse.

This story never mentions Lefty threatening Rittenhouse with a pistol and makes a plea for donations: “An online fund has been established to help Grosskreutz cover his medical bills. To contribute, visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-kenosha-protestor-with-medical-bills”.

CBS also deliberately deceives its readers about what happened in Kenosha, “Grosskreutz then approaches Rittenhouse with his pistol in his right hand. Rittenhouse shot him in the arm and Grosskreutz ran away screaming for a medic.” That description is nothing but a boldfaced attempt to erase Lefty’s criminal conduct and make him into a victim rather than a perpetrator.

Well, not everyone is making Lefty into a blameless victim:

On the advice of his attorney, Grosskreutz would not discuss why he was chasing the suspect who was clearly carrying a high-powered rifle.

But the 22-year-old — who traveled 40 miles from Milwaukee, where he also regularly attended protests — said the horror of the shootings is “all I think about.”
Grosskreutz –a member of a radical Black Lives Matter faction called the People’s Revolution — said that he has been inundated with death threats from those blaming protesters for the carnage that ended up with the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26.

The bottomline here is that Grosskreutz got less than he deserved. Because of that, he’s still alive. Under ordinary circumstances, someone attending a “peaceful protest” while carrying a concealed weapon and who was shot while attempting to injure or kill another person who was not bothering them would not be a hero. But these are desperate times. At every turn their causes and heroes are revealed to be terribly flawed (George Floyd had a lethal concentration of fentanyl in his blood and couldn’t breath because his lungs were filling with liquid, not because of a knee on the side of his neck) or vicious thugs with no respect for themselves or anyone else (Jacob Blake). The people they’ve had shot or killed have been idiots or degenerates or both. To make this cause move forward, they need a heroic spokesman/martyr and the media has decided that Lefty Grosskreutz is that man.
