Bedlam in the (Mad) House

Article by Charlie Martin in "PJMedia":

I've written twice now predicting that the Democrats won't go through with impeachment in the house. All along, as several commenters mentioned, I was making the unstated assumption that the Democrats weren't collectively crazy.

Okay, I was wrong. They're nuts.

Just on the facts, the actual Articles of Impeachment (at least as they're stated now, they're still to be debated in the House as I write this) come down to:

  1. Trump abused his power by slowing the release of military aid to Ukraine and asking Ukraine to investigate corruption in their previous administrations. This included one president who fled to Russia after being credibly accused of embezzling literal billions of dollars from the government and was eventually convicted of treason. (Their theory is that this is out of bounds because the vice president who was the frontman for Ukraine while this was going on, and who pressured the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor, and whose son had a million-dollar sinecure from an energy company closely connected to that government, is now a political opponent.)
  2. Trump obstructed Congress by insisting Congress call members of the Executive Branch by formal subpoena that could be adjudicated by the Judicial Branch. (Jonathan Turley said this was making the president's appeal to the Courts a high crime or misdemeanor.)
  3.
Now, let's consider the downsides for the Democrats:

  1. The Obi-Wan problem: "Strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you imagine." The effect in the polls seems to be generally in Trump's favor.
  2. In a sane world, there really is glaring evidence of corruption and not just with Burisma. Force this to trial and that's likely to be explored in public. All in the previous Democrat administration.
  3. The FISA Court is now outraged at the abuse of the FISA process. All in the previous Democrat administration or by holdovers from the previous administration. Which was a Democrat administration, did I mention that?
  4. They're very likely to lose.
"When you strike at a king, you must kill him."

I don't think the conclusion can be avoided. The Democrat-controlled House is an asylum. A madhouse.

Bedlam.

Why are so many Democrats such emotionally unstable jackasses?

Pro-Trump Women Verbally Harassed, Navy SEAL Assaulted by Unhinged Dems in Swanky DC Hotel

According to a press release put out by Women for America First (WFAF), their private event was interrupted “at least” 30 times by hostile wedding participants who taunted, stalked and harassed the women, calling them “MAGA Sluts,” “Trump c*nts,” “Nazis,” “fascists” and “bigots.”

Keep in mind, these were not the Democrats' masked street agitators.
These are Democrat Party leaders and elites. It was a $100,000 event.

FULL STORY HERE

People would walk by and scream nasty comments. Others actually Came inside the room to spew hatred, some signed up for the silent auction items (making ridiculous bids under fake names). When asked to leave they then began the verbal attacks. Security was called but even then they refused to leave, acting as if they owned the room we paid for.
It was so disruptive and intimidating that many of our guests didn’t want to come out to risk being attacked. So participation in the silent auction was limited. Remember, we have women from all walks of life. Many of them are new to the world of politics and have only seen this type of thing on television. Some of our ladies had been viciously, verbally attacked in the bathroom and halls so they wanted to avoid the potential of being attacked again or at all.
The harassment continued all night and once their party ended it got even worse. When you mix wealthy entitlement with intoxication, and their ideology rooted in an unjustified hatred of people based solely on the fact that we don’t stand in the lockstep they’ve decided we should, you get an ugly scene. How dare women think independently and support @POTUS.
We literally were scum to them. And why? We did nothing to them and had they simply minded their own business they would have never known who we were. Even beyond that, what kind of people are so classless that they leave a $100k party just to harass a bunch of women? I’ll tell you who. Elite democrats who think that they can do whatever they want with no consequence. As our party ended, one family attempted to leave, the daughter was attacked a second time from two middle aged women in the hall. She was extremely shaken up and her parents were aghast and shocked that the attackers were relentless.
At this point I asked a couple of the gentlemen from our party who were well experienced in security and personal protection to begin assisting our members out of the area and either to the valet/Ubers or to the elevators. On one of those trips, @JGilliam_SEAL was prevented from entering the elevator with the group of ladies he was escorting. So being the sheepdog that he is, he rose above it and walked the ladies upstairs.
Unfortunately, They were met with the group of instigators at the top. Those instigators refused to allow our ladies to pass by and when they attempted to move 3 men began to physically attack Jonathan. They jumped on him, punching and ultimately grabbing his tie and choking him.
In the midst of the attack, he did what any normal person being attacked would do. He defended himself. Now remember, Jonathan is a former NAVY SEAL and FBI agent. He is trained very well and during this attack he exercised extraordinary judgment and restraint. There was one pop to the face of one of the attackers that made him back off. The others were pulled off by other members in our group (who mind you did not lay hands on them other than to pull them off of Jonathan).
The police were called to the hotel (I’m fairly certain this is a first for the Willard). We were not the aggressors and throughout the entire ordeal our group was simply trying to avoid any altercations and de-escalate. It didn’t matter to those on that side who wanted a fight. They didn’t get one from us and thankfully one of the attackers was arrested.
But it didn’t end there. Once the man was arrested, their group continued to verbally attack us, even with the police and security there. They demanded we “make it right” and get the guy out of trouble. The idea that he was the recipient of the consequences of his own actions was foreign to these people. It didn’t matter that he was the attacker. (In fact there were 3 who jumped on J and only one got taken away in handcuffs. They should have been glad all 3 didn’t get arrested.) they simply wanted to go about their night as if nothing had happened.
Thankfully DC metropolitan police saw them for who they were and did the right thing. We are unaware of what transpired after the arrest. Given who was rumored to have been at the event, it wouldn’t surprise us at all to know that this person was ultimately released without any charges or on lower ones. I’d be surprised if he had to remain in jail until today to be arraigned (no arraignments on sundays in DC).
But we don’t know. But this truly exposes these elite leftists for who they are. Never would you hear about anyone on the conservative side crashing a private party at a posh DC (or anywhere) hotel. We simply don’t do this. Yet these elitist progressives think they own us and the system, therefore they can do whatever they want. They claim that WE are the Nazis, but THEY are the ones persecuting innocent women for simply having a different opinion and political viewpoint. Think about that. We aren’t the ones who saw them or anyone as subhuman…they are. So if we are their target of choice TODAY once we, as conservative women, are sidelined, silenced or eliminated.
Who is next? People need to wake up. That is what is coming. They simply don’t show it on the television or in their 30 second sound bites paid for by their million dollar donors. Everyone needs to remember the famous poem “First they came” poem by Protestant pastor, Martin Niemöller. Because this is what the left is doing. They are doing all they can to silence our voices and then what? They will go after the very people who support them today. (sadly those people have been fooled into believing they’re allies.) This will only get worse.”

On The Cusp of Impeachment…

The media narrative engineers and stenographers are fully engaged, gleeful with impeachment blood-lust amid their broadcast brethren.

The raw political corruption is now extreme.

Do not look away.

As we bear witness, anyone trying to convince us this entire assembly of our union is headed in the right direction, well, they might want to revisit their proximity to the 2020 election ballpark. Because they’re not just out of the city – they’re also out of the same state the election ballpark is located in….. Then again, the media know that.

However, they have no idea just how many of us there are!

David Mamet had a famous saying, essentially: …‘in order for democrats, leftists, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things’… By pretending ‘not to know’ there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

This hate-filled Democrat ideology relies on our willingness to accept their lies, falsehoods, and scripted presentations; and then demands we grant benefit amid their seeds of doubt.
They have no idea how many of us there are!

There’s a level of anger far deeper and more consequential than expressed rage or visible behavior, it’s called Cold Anger.

Cold Anger does not need to go to violence. For those who carry it, no conversation is needed when we meet. You cannot poll or measure it; specifically because most who carry it avoid discussion… And that decision has nothing whatsoever to do with any form of correctness.

We watched the passage of Obamacare at 1:38am on the day before Christmas Eve in 2009. We watched the Senate, then the House attempt passing Amnesty in 2014. We know exactly how it passed, and we know exactly why it passed. We don’t need to stand around talking about it….

We know what lies hidden behind “cloture” and the UniParty schemes.

We watched the 2009 $900+ billion Stimulus Bill being spent each year, every year, for seven consecutive years. Omnibus spending, Porkulous, QE1, QE2, Bailouts, Crony-Capitalism. We know exactly how this works, and we know exactly why this ruse is maintained. We don’t need to stand around talking about it…. We’re beyond talking.

We accept how the entire Senate voted to block President Trump’s ability to use recess appointments in 2017, and 2018, and 2019. Every. Single. Democrat. And. Republican.
Cold Anger absorbs betrayal silently, often prudently.

We’ve waited each year, every year, for ten years, to see a federal budget, only to be given another Omnibus spending bill by “CONservative” politicians.

We’ve watched the ridiculing of cops, the riots, and the lack of support for laws, or their enforcement. We’ve been absorbing all that. We’ve been exposed to violence upon us by paid operatives of the organized DNC machine. We know; the media trying to hide it doesn’t change our level of information.

Cold Anger is not hatred, it is far more purposeful.

We watched in 2012 as the Democrat party thrice denied God during their convention. The doors to evil enterprise opened by official proclamation and request.

Cold Anger takes notice of the liars, even from a great distance – seemingly invisible to the mob. Cold Anger will still hold open the door for the riot goer. Mannerly.

We’ve watched our borders being intentionally unsecured.

We’ve watched Islamic Terrorists slaughter Americans as our politicians proclaim their uncertainty of motive. We know exactly who they are, and why they are doing it. We do not need to stand around discussing it…. we’re clear eyed.

Cold Anger evidenced is more severe because it is more strategic, and more purposeful. Eric Cantor’s defeat, Brexit, Donald Trump’s highest vote tally in the history of presidential primaries, or President Trump’s victory might aide your understanding.

The recent U.K. vote to rebuke globalist leftism stands as a precursor…

Cold Anger does not gloat; it absorbs consistent vilification and ridicule as fuel. This sensibility does not want to exist, it is forced to exist in otherwise unwilling hosts – we also refuse to be destabilized by it.

Transgender bathrooms are more important than border security.

Illicit trade schemes, employment and the standard of living in Vietnam and Southeast Asia are more important to Wall Street and DC lobbyists, than the financial security of Youngstown Ohio.

We get it. We understand. We didn’t create that reality, we are simply responding to it.

The intelligence apparatus of our nation was weaponized against our candidate by those who controlled the levers of government. Now, with sanctimonious declarations they scheme and dismiss accountability.

Deliberate intent and prudence ensures we avoid failure. The course, is thoughtful vigilance; it is a strategy devoid of emotion. The media can call us anything they want, it really doesn’t matter…. we’re far beyond the place where labels matter.

Foolishness and betrayal of our nation have served to reveal dangers within our present condition. Misplaced corrective action, regardless of intent, is neither safe nor wise.

We know exactly who Donald Trump is, and we also know what he is not. He is exactly what we need at this moment. He is a necessary and glorious bastard.

He is our President.

He is our weapon.

Cold Anger is not driven to act in spite of itself; it drives a reckoning.

When the well attired leave the checkout line carrying steaks and shrimp using an EBT card, the door is still held open; yet notations necessarily embed.

When the U.S. flags lay gleefully undefended, they do not lay unnoticed. When the stars and stripes are controversial, yet a foreign flag is honored – we are paying attention.

When millionaire football players kneel down rather than honor our fallen soldiers and stand proud of our country, we see that. Check the NFL TV ratings – take note.

When a school community cannot openly pray, it does not mean the prayerful were absent.

When a liar seems to win, it is not without observation. Many – more than the minority would like to admit – know the difference between science, clocks and political agendas.

Cold Anger perceives deception the way the long-term battered absorb a blow in the hours prior to the pre-planned exit; with purpose.

A shield, or cry of micro-aggression will provide no benefit, nor quarter. Delicate sensibilities are dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.

We are patient, kind, generous and thoughtful; but we are also purposeful. Pushed far enough, decisions are reached.
[…] On the drive to and from the East Coast, I paid attention to the billboards and bumper-stickers. Folks, the people in “Fly over” country are PISSED, from the guy that guides hunters, to the mayors of towns and cities, to state senators congressmen and Governors who are voting to arrest and imprison federal law enforcement officials for enforcing federal gun laws that don’t agree with state law … The political pendulum has never, in the history of humanity, stayed on one side of a swing. The back lash from over reach has always been proportionate to how far off center it went before coming back … right now we’re staring at a whole hell of a lot of the country (about 80-90% of the land mass, as well as about 50+% of the population) that is FED UP. You really don’t want those guys to decide that the only way to fix it is to burn it down and start over… (more)
It’s too late…

This man, our president, has faced opposition that would overwhelm any other President.

Our chosen President is constantly attacked by those holding a corrupt, conniving and Godless leftist ideology. It is our job now to stand with him, firm on his behalf.

To respond we must engage as an insurgency. We must modify our disposition to think like an insurgent. Insurgencies have nothing to lose. If insurgents are not victorious the system, which controls the dynamic, wins. However, if insurgents do nothing, the same system, which controls the dynamic, also wins.

Do nothing and we lose. Go to the mattresses, and we win. The choice is ours.

The awakened American middle-class insurgency, led by Donald Trump, is an existential threat to the professional political class and every entity who lives in/around the professional political class. Their entire political apparatus is threatened by our insurgency. The political industry, all of corrupt governance, is threatened by our support through Donald Trump.

Decision time.

You know why the entire apparatus is united against President Trump. You know why the corrupt Wall Street financial apparatus is united against President Trump. You know why every institutional department, every lobbyist, every K-Street dweller, every career legislative member, staffer, and the various downstream economic benefactors, including the corporate media, all of it – all the above, are united against Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is an existential threat to the existence of a corrupt DC system we have exposed to his disinfecting sunlight. Donald Trump is the existential threat to every entity who benefits from that corrupt and vile system.

Global elites now stand with jaw-agape in horror as they witness the result.

The value of multi-billion dollar contracts dispatched at our leisure. Trillion dollar multi-national trade deals, full of scheme and graft, left nothing more than tenuous propositions smashed asunder from the mere sound of our approach.  Yes, our President is delivering.

The fundamental construct within decades of their united global efforts to tear at the very fabric of our U.S.A is slowly being eliminated. They too have nothing to lose; their desperation becomes visible within their apoplexy; and they’re damn sure displaying it.

Do not look away.

Throw aside the sense of discomfort and bear witness to the evil we oppose. Do not turn your eyes from the hatred focused in our direction. Stand firm amid the solace of our number and resolve to the task at hand.

Those who oppose our efforts are vile parasites, soon to be quivering as they stare into the Cold Anger furnace of righteousness.

Who fuels that furnace?

USTR Robert Lightizer Discusses USMCA and U.S-China Trade Agreements

Great interview with United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer as he described the goals, objectives and outcomes of the USMCA and U.S-China Phase One agreements.

While answering a question about Wall St. journal criticism of the USMCA, Lighthizer discussed the dynamic of Wall Street -vs- Main Street as part of the bigger picture objective in the revised deal. He avoids the words “globalism” -vs- “nationalism” but the sentiment as described is there.

On China Lighthizer emphasizes the “phase one” deal is really a test to see if it is even possible to have an enforceable trade agreement between a communist state-run economy (China) and a free-market economy (U.S).

DOW Officially Exceeds 28,333, Up 10,000 Points Since Trump Election Despite Doomsday Predictions

President Donald Trump’s campaign spurred fears among countless economists and members of the mainstream media in 2016 predicting an economic Armageddon if Trump were to be elected. On Tuesday, the stock market hit an all-time high.

“Conventional wisdom is that, right off the bat, the stock market would fall precipitously,” declared the New York Times days before the election.

Simon Johnson, an economist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology predicted in the Times that a Trump win would “likely cause the stock market to crash and plunge the world into recession.”

Dartmouth economist Eric Zitzewitz told Politico that Wall Street desperately preferred Hillary Clinton over Trump. “You saw Clinton win the first debate and her odds jumped and stocks moved aright along with it. Should Trump somehow manage to win you could see major Brexit-style selling.”

“Now comes the mother of all adverse effects – and what it brings with it is a regime that will be ignorant of economic policy and hostile to any effort to make it work,” wrote New York Times columnist and Nobel-Prize winning economist Paul Krugman on the day after the election. “So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight. I suppose we could get lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened.”

Three years later, the country apparently got quite lucky in Krugman’s eyes, whose columns since the election make his contempt for Trump exquisitely clear and who has continued to predict an economic collapse every few months of the Trump presidency.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average officially reached 28,333 on Monday, hitting a 10,000 point high since Trump’s victory in 2016. The S&P 500 has also experienced more than a 46 percent gain. So how about that stock market crash?

While economists predicted Trump would be an “adversary” of economic growth, the Trump presidency in reality has been a boon for the American economy. U.S. investors have benefitted from the White House’s pro-growth agenda, slashing individual and corporate tax rates while pursuing an aggressive regulatory rollback regime to unleash the might of the American economy.

Markets are also soaring in light of the administration’s successfully negotiated trade deal to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement which appears on course to pass the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives this week.

The new trade deal, dubbed “NAFTA 2.0” is expected to pass the House this week while Democrats simultaneously move to kick impeachment over to the Senate. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi jeopardized the fate of the agreement by stalling on negotiations with the White House in an effort to coincide passage of the trade treaty with impeachment to rebuff Republican claims of blind partisanship.

So while economists were quick to cast worry over a Trump-controlled White House, the economy has been anything but devastated. If anything this year, it has been obstructionist Democrats holding back the stock market from rising even further by creating unnecessary uncertainty over the USMCA trade agreement and focusing on a partisan sham impeachment.

President Trump to hold ‘Keep America Great’ rally in Battle Creek, Mich.

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 6:35 AM PT — Wednesday, December 18, 2019
President Trump is set to hold a “Merry Christmas” rally in Michigan. On Wednesday, the president and Vice President Mike Pence will speak to a group of supporters in the city of Battle Creek, which is west of Detroit.
Around 10,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will be held at the Kellogg Arena. Overflow space will also be available for people who do not make it inside the venue. Michigan is seen as an important state ahead of the 2020 elections since Democrats are hoping to win it back after it flipped from blue to red in 2016.
Ahead of the event, the House is set to vote on two articles of impeachment against the president. Lawmakers will debate the articles, which include abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, before holding a vote on each of the charges Wednesday. All Republicans are expected to oppose impeachment, while at least three Democrats have signaled they will vote against one or both of the articles.
One America News will provide full coverage of President Trump’s “Keep America Great” rally starting at 7 p.m. EST and 4 p.m. PST.

FBI Director Wray Responds to the FISA Court’s Statement and Shows It’s Time for Him to Go

Earlier today, the FISA court released an extremely rare public statement in which they addressed the findings of the recent IG report.

In it, they laid out the gravity of the misconduct, with the court taking issue with the lies and omissions put upon them by the FBI. While there may be a bit of blame shifting here (the FISA court should have been more skeptical from the jump), there’s no doubt the lion’s share of the issue was they were given incomplete and sometimes false information to make judgements with.
The FBI’s handling of the Carter Page applications, as portrayed in the OIG report, was antithetical to the heightened duty of candor described above. The frequency with which representations made by FBI personnel turned out to be unsupported or contradicted by information in their possession, and with which they withheld information detrimental to their case, calls into question whether information contained in other FBI applications is reliable.
Now, the FBI has responded via their own statement written by Directer Christopher Wray.
To say this is woefully insufficient is an understatement.
I really didn't have an opinion about Wray up until now.
When your team screws up as badly as the FBI did, literally lying to the FISA court to spy on Americans, you don't just get to order "corrective steps." Heads need to roll, period.
What the hell kind of response is this? https://t.co/MxVoFq6mYP
— Jason Howerton (@jason_howerton) December 17, 2019
First, yes it is representative of the FBI as an institution. This is far from the first example of rabid misconduct among its ranks. Further, the fact that these specific actions took place at the highest levels means the FBI is not only responsible, but must carry the burden of what was done. This game where bureaucracies pretend to be holy orders only rarely stained by the acts of rogue agents is nonsense. That kind of benefit of the doubt has no place when dealing with unelected, largely unaccountable agencies and law enforcement entities. What happened in regards to the Trump-Russia investigation was malicious, purposeful, and widespread. It was not an isolated incident that otherwise doesn’t reflect on the entirety of the FBI.

Secondly, the idea that the solution here is to just take “corrective steps” at the administrative level is unbelievable. No, some people should be fired. Others should be prosecuted. Still more should be demoted and reprimanded. The kinds of abuses of power that took place deeply harm our country. That’s not going to go away by holding a few workshops and changing up the paperwork. What happened within the FBI is part of a cultural, partisan rot that permeates the bureau. You fix that be getting rid of people, not by giving the guilty a new handbook they’ll inevitably ignore again.

Lastly, you can tell by the statement that Wray doesn’t actually care about what transpired. He’s instead worried about losing the ability to easily get warrants on American citizens. If there were no possible consequences here, I’d struggle to be convinced he’d take any action at all.

It’s time for Wray to go. This is not the guy who can lead a full rehabilitation of the FBI. He’s clearly more concerned with protecting the institution’s power than with cleaning out the bad actors and righting the ship. That’s simply not acceptable given the stakes.

The Sons of Liberty, then and now

Article by John Rutledge in "The American Thinker":

"There are certain periods when human patience can no longer endure indignity and oppression.  The spark of liberty then kindles into a flame..."

—In a letter from Samuel Adams to his cousin John Adams, dated October 4, 1790

Samuel Adams, John Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock are the names famously associated with the term "Sons of Liberty."  These are men were so vitally important to the advent of the American Revolution and the forming of our country that we refer to them as our Founding Fathers.  History tells us there were a great many other courageous Americans who also played key roles during this period.  These are a few of those people whose names aren't traditionally known by many Americans:

Dr. Joseph Warren — A highly intelligent and successful physician, Warren led meetings with other patriots at The Green Dragon Tavern, which was called "the headquarters of the revolution" by Daniel Webster.  Dr. Warren gave the orders to Paul Revere and William Dawes to ride to Lexington and Concord to warn the militia of the Redcoats' impending arrival.  He also ordered Benedict Arnold to attack Ft. Ticonderoga.  Dr. Warren died during the Battle of Bunker Hill.  The importance of Dr. Warren's role during the war combined with his charismatic personality and esteem led many people to believe that he could very well have been our first American president.

Robert Morris — A wealthy Philadelphian credited with almost singlehandedly financing the American Revolution.  Although neither an academic nor a military man, Morris went on to achieve great accomplishments, including being elected to the Continental Congress in 1775 and being only one of two signers of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution.  From ushistory.org: "In 1789, President George Washington appointed Morris Secretary of the Treasury, but he declined the office and suggested Alexander Hamilton instead."

Sybil Ludington — Known as "the female Paul Revere."  Sybil Ludington was a 16-year-old daughter of militia colonel Henry Ludington.  On April 26, 1776, Sybil was dispatched by her father to ride 40 miles on horseback to the nearby town of Dansbury, Conn. to warn the colonists that the British were coming.  Sybil rode twice the distance Paul Revere did and was later commended by George Washington for her heroism.

These are only three examples of individuals who played their roles to ensure the success of the American Revolution.  With the current political crisis threatening to tear our country apart, modern-day Sons and Daughters of Liberty have come to the forefront to help save our country.  In my esteem, these are the people who will be recorded in history for helping save everything our Founding Fathers fought and died for.
Devin Nunes
Jim Jordan
Matt Gaetz
Kevin McCarthy
Mark Meadows
Tom Fitton
John Solomon
Sara Carter
Sean Hannity

I know there are many others one could easily add to this list.  Whom would you add?

Side note: The Green Dragon Tavern still exists in the form of a restaurant and museum.  I know that one is located Boston, Mass. and the other in Carlsbad, Calif.  If you live close to or are visiting one of those two areas, I highly encourage you to stop by and check them out.  The Green Dragon Tavern in Carlsbad has a museum dedicated to that period leading up to the American Revolution.  The museum is free, and you're welcome to view the exhibit with your favorite cocktail in hand.

Forced by Reality – The Washington Post Cancels the Recession

In July and August the U.S. was heading into a recession according to the media.  The Washington Post was at the forefront of the recession narrative with multiple articles predicting certain doom for the U.S. economy…. except there was a problem. All of the economic data would not support their predictions.  Things only got better.

The media gnashed their horrible teeth and stomped their horrible feet; alas Main Street continued to get stronger; wages higher, unemployment lower, and more middle-class Americans gaining strength and financial footing.  The media shouted at trees hoping and praying their predictions would soon evidence and the economy would throw itself into reverse.  Foiled again, it just never happened.  Democrats have permanent frowns.

Today the Washington Post admits defeat, informs their audience that cheering for economic collapse is futile, and states, reluctantly, the U.S. is unlikely to enter a recession:

The U.S. economy is heading into 2020 at a pace of steady, sustained growth after a series of interest rate cuts and the apparent resolution of two trade-related threats mostly eliminated the risk of a recession.
This marks a dramatic turnaround in momentum since August, when some forecasters predicted a 50 percent chance of a downturn starting by the end of next year.
[…] The major fears in August were that businesses would continue pulling back their spending, Trump would continue imposing tariffs, and companies would soon turn around and ax employees. But that worst-case scenario didn’t materialize. Job gains exceeded expectations in October and November. (read more)

The Democrats’ one-night stand with the founders

Article by Selwyn Duke in "The American Thinker":

“I’ll respect you in the morning” is what I half expect to hear. Of course, the Democrats now invoking the Founding Fathers’ memory in their effort to impeach President Trump won’t respect our colonial progenitors at the next dawn anymore than they did at the last one.

Nonetheless, the Left has interrupted its regularly scheduled programming of trying to tear down the Founders’ reputations and life’s work — the Electoral College, the First and Second Amendments, and the Constitution generally — to claim that those Enlightenment men are on their side.

Nancy Pelosi (D-Fruits and Nuts) has proclaimed that Trump’s actions “are in defiance of the vision of our Founders.” Democrat Jerrold Nadler, from the state (NY) that allows prenatal infanticide up to birth and that’s giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, asked a shill college professor of an impeachment “witness,” “[I]f Washington were here today, if he were joined by Madison, Hamilton and other Framers, what do you believe they would say if presented with the evidence before us about President Trump’s conduct?”

My, my, as Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson put it Tuesday evening, “Democrats care deeply and passionately about the Founding Fathers.” For sure. Just watch a selection of them in Carlson’s segment below, if you have a strong stomach and high tolerance for shameless sanctimony.

Now, Nadler’s hypothetical is interesting because I’ve occasionally indulged the thought exercise of what would transpire if a Founder, let’s say, George Washington, could be resurrected from the dead. After he recovered from the shock of our technological advancement and moral debasement, I imagine he’d have lots to say.

How much of it, though, would be in praise of the Democrat program? What would he say about sex as social construct, personal pronoun tyranny, putting boys masquerading as girls in female spaces and the Sexual Devolution generally? Widespread prenatal infanticide? Open-borders cultural genocide? Rule by judicial and bureaucratic fiat? Proposals to eliminate the Electoral College and Senate? Feminism? Multiculturalism? Attacks on Christianity? The exalting of Islam? Hate crime law? High taxation? Federal overreach? The redistribution of wealth?

Speaking of which, how about socialism? Note that Founder Samuel Adams spoke for many of his comrades in warning of the “Utopian schemes of levelling, and a community of goods.” So, is there one aspect of the modern Democrat agenda — just one — of which Washington or any other Founder would approve? Help me out here.

The notion is ridiculous, of course. The Founders would have an earful for most of us, don’t get me wrong, but they’d absolutely view today’s leftists as aliens.

That’s how the Left views them, too. Leftists don’t hide their disdain for “old white men,” whom they despise at least partially because that demographic most opposes their agenda. They also loathe the Founder fruit that is the Constitution — which Barack Obama bemoaned was merely “a charter of negative liberties” — basically because it’s a conservative document

By this I don’t mean just the obvious, which is that it prescribes limited government. It’s also that conservatism is about conserving the status quo — standing “athwart history, yelling Stop,” as William F. Buckley put it — while liberalism is about changing the status quo. Yet since the Constitution’s Amendment Process makes it painfully hard to change, the document does (when adhered to) conserve a status quo.

So it’s no surprise that lawyer and CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin called the Constitution “broken” in 2013 and stated that outside “Washington, discontent with the founding document is bipartisan and widespread” (among pseudo-elites, yes).

Toobin pointed to a University of Texas law professor, Sanford Levinson, who when asked if he would have signed the Constitution reluctantly said yes in 1987, but no in 2003. Toobin was making his case for how a positive evolution of thought takes us beyond constitutional limitations, but he only demonstrated how Levinson managed to get not only older, but dumber, in 16 years’ time.

But since the Democrats are now romancing the Founders, here’s another thought exercise: Imagine we could resurrect all those men and let them take the place of our current president, congressmen and senators for some years so that they could restore our government to founding principles. Would you agree? I’d sign on that dotted line. No matter what the Democrats would say hypothetically, though, this would be their worst nightmare.

Their feelings toward the Founders range from indifference to contempt to hostility, which is why they demean them in history books and propose removing monuments to Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Oh, don’t think it’s really about slavery, either. Islam’s Mohammed was not only a warlord, caravan-raider thief, mass murderer and user of torture, but a slave owner and trader. Yet no leftist would dare besmirch his memory. Nor do our liberals trouble much over Muslims’ enslavement of blacks in Africa today. No, leftists hate the Founders because they hate Americanism.

If the Founders could live again and run for office in 2019, the Left would be vicious in its vitriol, calling them racists, bigots, homophobes, sexists, xenophobes, white supremacists and, well, you know the wash-rinse-repeat pattern.

Worse still, though, is what leftists are doing to the Founders right now: associating them with themselves. Why, if the Founders weren’t in a place beyond the reach of worldly defilement, they’d likely feel in need of a Silkwood-intensity shower.

Band of impotent losers unite to take out Trump

Desperately seeking relevance, the usual suspects of Well-I-Never-Trumpers have banded together to demand Trump be defeated.

A band of impotent losers made up of former Republicans and current Well-I-Never-Trumpers published an op-ed in the New York Times titled “We are Republicans, and We Want Trump Defeated.”

[No, I’m not linking to it.]

Naturally it is getting much praise and huzzahs from people who despise Donald Trump and never planned on voting for him.

This band of impotent losers include the gelatinous oaf George Conway as well as establishment political consultants can’t get consulting work since Trump was elected: Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, and former Kasich guy John Weaver.

And the folks most excited about this band of impotent losers calling for the defeat of President Trump are Democrats and their media handmaids.

Everybody else is responding with a perplexed “Who?”

Normal people outside of the media bubble don’t give a hoot what this band of impotent losers has to say.

But their New York Times op-ed is not directed at voters; it’s directed at the media bubble.

Sure, Bill Kristol and the Bulwark gang will quiver like a spastic colon and gleefully promote this op-ed.

Same goes for every Democrat inside the beltway and within the media.

But the rest of us?  Yeah. No sale.

I said way back in August 2016 that this band of impotent losers who make up the Never Trump “Republicans” are like the Japanese soldiers stranded on remote islands for decades who have no idea Japan was defeated and the war long over.

Well, the war is long over.

The consultant class lost.

Yet here they are still, stumbling through the jungles of their remote island certain that the counter-offensive will happen any day now and they will be welcomed back as conquering heroes.

No.  It ain’t gonna happen.

The only people cheering for these island-dwelling impotent losers are, well, the enemy.

Sure, Ana Navarro the so-called “Republican consultant” from CNN might giggle with girlish delight over these eunuchs.

But real living, breathing Republican voters who can see that the Donald Trump Presidency has done more to advance Republican ideals than anyone since Reagan?  Well, we’re giggling too.  But not in the way this impotent band of losers would hope.

Their brand of “Republicanism” is rooted surrender.

Why else would they hope Trump loses to a Democrat?

The problem these guys have always had is they don’t know their enemy.

They don’t understand that the Left is playing for all the marbles.

They are unaware that Leftism seeks to completely destroy our Republic.

So they suck-up to the enemy thinking, as Churchill put it, the crocodile will eat them last.

It’s not “Republican principles” that are driving these impotent losers from the SS NeverTrump.

It’s anger.  Anger and resentment.

They used to have the ear of the party.  They were important, respected. More importantly, candidates running for office were begging for their help.

Trump changed that. He rendered them irrelevant.

And now nobody cares about these guys.

We care more about winning than hitching our wagon to a bunch of gentlemen losers.

They’re angry because we didn’t care what they had to say in 2016. We ignored them and voted for Trump.

And back then, Trump didn’t even have a proven track record of delivering on his promises.

Now he does.

In other words, voters have even less reason to give this band of impotent losers a moment’s thought.

But hey. At least this op-ed will give them plenty of face time on CNN and MSNBC.

And, really? That’s exactly why they wrote it.
